Our wagon flew out of the cave entrance, smashing into a tree just outside of the cave mouth. Which ended up launching the cauldron far away, probably clearing the forest and landing just outside. Which meant we need to hurry, the seal has most likely broken and we still dont know what that stuff was supposed to do. Crashing into a tree is obviously not the most pleasent way to stop so me and lucy were flung into the forest along with the driver. Who was thrown out of the front and smashed through a bunch of branches before landing in a bush not far from us. I broke a couple of fingers on my fall but it didnt really hurt that much as I was channeling green mana as soon as we hit the tree. I ignored my fingers as they twisted back into place with gross cracks and got up to look for Lucy and the driver.

Lucy actually wasnt very far from me, she was stuck in a bush with a broken arm and twisted ankle. Her armor was punctured by a branch that went all the way through her shoulder. I gave her a large helping of green mana and called some other soldiers over to help her. She was awake and trying to hide the amount of pain she was in, but I could still tell. The green mana was starting to help though and I could see her pained expression soften a little and she started ordering them to follow the cauldron and prepare for anything. I went with them, leaving her in the capable hands of the guardsmen's healer. I got into one of the wagons with the other soldiers and we left in the direction of the flying cauldron. Before we left the vicinity of the cave mouth I saw some guards pulling what looked like the driver out of a tree. He didnt look dead so I put it out of my mind and focused on the cauldron, trying to figure out what the ritual could be.

This driver was alot more calm driving than the last one, it also helped that these wagons were designed to carry people instead of cargo so I was on the inside this time. He calmly but swiftly drove through the trees and navigated the uneven terrain with ease. Dodging large roots and ditches at high speed without breaking a sweat. The guards that were seated around me just looked bored, like they had done this all before. All except for a couple more experienced guardsmen who actually looked a little nervous about this whole situation, they probably were paying attention to the event at the warehouse and are expecting the worst. I cant really blame them, what happened there was pretty bad. The ride was honestly pretty smooth, I looked through the tiny window on the side and could see the trees passing by. The wagon was smashing through bushes and branches without slowing down in the least.

Other than looking out of the window I was busy filling my sword with mana. I still had it sheathed, so I was using the handle to fill it with pure mana. Just enough to give me an edge in battle, I dont really know what to expect so im trying to be prepared. Some of the others noticed what I was doing to my sword and asked me about it, I just told them that it was an enchantment. Turns out there was an enchanter in the group and he called me out on it.

"Thats not an enchantment, I can tell because there aint no spell in it. Thats just pure mana, I been enchantin' fer years now and I gotta feelin' fer these kinda' things."

"Fine, you got me. I dont really know what were dealing with here so in order to be prepared im injecting pure mana into my sword to deal more damage. Just in case it turns into a fight with something that takes very little damage from normal swords."

The guardsmen seemed to think about that for a second before asking me to do the same to their swords. I agreed but I could only do a couple of their swords. The enchanter agreed to help me and put some temperary enchantments on some more weapons. I'd say our survivability just went up a little bit more with the enchanted weapons. Some of their armor was enchanted but based on what happened in the last fight, I dont think that would be very helpful. I think their enchantements are more suited to fighting other people and not monsters. Me and the other guy finished up our enchantments right around the time the wagon stopped moving. I climbed out with the other soldiers and jogged to the cauldron, that was currently leaking its goo all over the dirt it landed in. The goo seemed to disappear as soon as it touched the dirt instead of pooling. That cant be a good sign.

I pulled out my sword and held it ready, a couple guards saw me and followed suit. Some of them started trying to surrounding the cauldron like it was going to get up and sprout tentacles to attack us with. I told them to get back, if something is going to attack us, it probably wont be the cauldron. I was proven correct by a deep rumbling that shook the whole area, causing a couple of the trees that were farther away from the forest to topple over. The cauldron in front of us started rising, creating a small pillar of dirt as it rose. A small amount of undead started ripping out of the dirt and coming at us as the pillar rose higher. I gripped my sword tighter and got ready to fight once again.

Kevin was watching as the girls build something he understood very little of. Apparently Rala had an idea on how to combine what she knew about generating divinity and Kevin's knowledge of weird machinery to directly increase the flow of divinity. It was a weird machine with a huge transparent compartment at the top sprouting tubes that spiraled around and connected to other compartments in the machine. It wasnt complete yet and still had some exposed bits of machinery, but to kevin none of it made any sense. It didnt look like it would do anything and it didnt feed to anywhere. It would probably just cycle a liquid around and then back into the big compartment at the top again. Rala assured him that it would work and when he asked about how she simply smiled and said he wouldnt understand. He was sure he wouldnt, but wouldve still appreciated it if she had tried to explain it.
