The floor was a mess of blood and internal organs that only grew as the battle went on. The guards were losing badly and I cant just start using my flamethrower on full charge, I could end up roasting the guardsmen too. Also after I killed a couple of them they started seeing me as a threat and started attacking me seriously. But that meant they had to ease up on the guardsmen which allowed them to see how I was fighting. Some of them took out small vials of foul smelling liquid and poured them on their swords, then lighting them with the still burning corpses of the cultists. I barely had time to notice this as three cultists grew thick tentacles and were wipping them at me, while another started throwing spells at me. It was way too much for me to block with just a sword, I ran back through the warehouse leading them away from the rest. Then I turned around and turned my flamethrower up to full blast, roasting them with a smile on my face. There was something hard under my foot so I looked down and realized I was standing on a small shield. This would help with their tentacle-whip attacks so I picked it up and strapped it to my arm before heading back into battle.
Avoiding the pile of smoldering bodies I ran back to the fight. The guardsmen were starting to turn this battle around, their flaming swords making short work of the cultists. Now the only problem was the demon that was still stomping around. I ran towards the demon shooting streams of flame at its head to disorient it, the guardsmen surrounding it saw this and backed away. Which was a really smart thing to do, because with the flames blocking its vision it flailed wildly in all directions. I got closer and actually managed to set its head on fire, but that just pissed it off. I stopped and immediately started running away from it as it angrily chased the cause of its new 'hairdo'. I made sure to stay away from any stray guards so they dont get crushed. I kept looking behind me only to shoot more flame at it and keep it focused on me. We reached the edge of the warehouse and I aimed at its face and shot a constant stream of fire at it, blinding it. At the last moment I dodged out of the way and it ran straight into the wall.

This whole time I never stopped covering it with flames. Pissing it off immensely and disfiguring it as its flesh melted and burned. But it looked like I wasnt doing enough damage, It just got back up and tried attacking me again. I realized I have tried adding any divinity to the attack yet. Just after dodging another swing from the pissed off demon I added a small stream of divinity to my flamethrower, opening my hand wide so my fingers wont get burned. As soon as the small amount of divinity was added, the flame turned dark blue and I could feel the skin on my hand burning but I couldnt stop. The demon was screetching in pain, rolling on the floor trying in vain to put the fire out. The divine flames were consuming the creature completely, its flesh was almost completely gone so its muscles and some bones were visible. The pain in my hand was immense but it was almost dead, I had to keep going. The whole warehouse sounded quiet compared to the deafening screams of the demon in front of me.
It took five whole minutes to die, screetching in pain the entire time. I cut off the flame and started channeling green mana as fast as I could in order to heal my hand. I still have to find a way to keep my hand from burning while using that thing. Nothing but a large pile of ashes was left in front of me, with small pieces of bone left. I turned around and apparently it wasnt just the loud screams that made it seem quiet, the sounds of battle have actually been dying down. I went as fast as I could back to the fight and looked around. The guards had won, smoldering bodies were everywhere and the guards were going around making sure they were dead. Some of the guards were treating the wounded and collecting the dead. I walked around looking at the aftermath when I noticed something that didnt look right. There was a space in the middle of the warehouse that was clear of everything. There were no bodies, no blood, no debree, nothing. There was even a body right next to it in a puddle of blood, but the blood dissappeared when it got close to that space. I walked closer and tried to see if I can feel anything, trying to sense any spells or mana.

I got close enough to touch it and yet I didnt feel anything. Which was weird, every place in the world has a small ambient mana flow. But here in this space there was nothing at all, made it kind of obvious to me that something is here. A passing guard was carrying some enchanted armor from a fallen guard and I walked over and took a gauntlet, ignoring his protests and threw it at the spot. It flew for a moment and then smashed into something with a loud clang and landed on the floor, sliding for moment before stopping before the guard I took it from. He wasnt the only guard watching and they realized what I was doing. More of them gather around and started feeling around the area. I was a weird sight, watching trained men feel around in the air like they were blind. I would laugh if this wasnt serious. I was staring at the space and the guard that interrigated me walked up and started chanting a spell to disrupt any illusions and barriers. She finished the spell and raised her hand releasing a strong pulse that collided with the barrier making a terrible sound as it disrupted and destroyed the barrier spell, revealing what was hidden within.
