《The most human elf in Shaylet - Paused until further notice》The metropolis of Harendia

The rest of her speech went on without interruption. No one dared to speak up after that, the only sounds in the room were the lamias voice and the sounds of a maid cleaning up the remains of the vampire. The scary thing is she looked bored, as if this kind of thing happens all the time here.
The rest of the presentation was just her giving more history on the city, explaining things about how the many races ended up becoming a part of their community. She also talked about how races no one has even heard of started showing up and joining them. Even beings of pure energy showed up and became a part of their society.
She ended the speech with an explination on the blood pact and asked us to line up in front of a door in order to make the contract. We were then called in one at a time, while the lamia girl assured us it is perfectly safe and is only in place to protect the city. After a few people went in, it was my turn. Lamis was next to the door so I assumed that since she lived here she had already taken the pact. Or didnt need it because she would want to protect her home.
I walked into the door and it was shut behind me. The room smelled musty and stale yet only had an old man and a desk. Next to some piles of paper and an old cabinet. The walls were gray and devoid of any decoration, other than another door behind the old man leading to the outside. The old man was looking at me with a small sharp looking dagger in his right hand. In his left he had a small sigil painted on a piece of paper in what looked like his own blood. The old man was covered in scars but they looked really old and his body looked frail and weak. But the prescence he gave off mixed with the distinct smell of blood coming from him made me feel otherwise. He gestured to the chair in front of him, obviously telling me to sit. So I take my seat in front of him and we sat there staring at each other for a second before he sighed and spoke in a tired voice.

"Give me your hand, I will make a small cut and add your blood to this sigil. It will then bind to you and then I will read you the terms of the contract. You then state whether you agree or not and then the contract will be complete."
I nodded and gave him my left hand. He made a tiny cut on the tip of my pointer finger and wiped my finger on the sigil. The sigil then started glowing with a ominous dark red light and he read me the terms of the contract that he had apparently memorized.
"This contract is bound in blood and recognized by Xcarcia the godess of blood.
To not tell any humans of the location of this wonderful city,
To not share any information on the innerworkings of this city on the outside,
and finally to not show the location of this city to anyone who harbors ill will towards the city itself or its inhabitants.
Do you accept these terms?"
This is what that vampire died opposing? What a stupid thing to die for. Or maybe he knew something about it that I dont, after all the vampires are very knowledgable about blood.
"I accept"
The sigil on the paper peeled itself off and floated gently onto the back of my left hand. Burning itself into my flesh, It hurt like hell but the old man held my hand down with strength I would never have expected from someone as frail looking as him. It ended in seconds and didnt smell like burning flesh like I thought it would. In fact It smelled musty like the room did when I walked in.
Well that explains the smell.
I quickly left the room to escape that creepy old man and the musty smell of his magic. The door opened up to an alley filled to the brim with shops that were obviously here to entice any newcomers and releive them of their money. Delicious smells and loud clanging sounds came from all around as all manners of people went about their buisness shopping or runnning their buisnesses. I waited by the door for malady and vylet to come through which didnt take long as they were next in line after me. Lamis came through immediately after Vylet, It was as I thought and she didnt go through the ritual. The skin on her hand wasnt irritated and she didnt have that musty smell on her either. Both Malady and Vylet were rubbing the backs of their hands, there was no mark left but the skin was clearly red and itchy.

Lamis looked really happy to be back in her city, she was all smiles and giggles again. Slithering around everywhere, greeting some people while moving shop to shop. Even the guards seem to know her as she slid into one giving her a huge hug and saying something in that hissing language of theirs.
Malady and Vylet were visiting all the shops leaving me alone to follow Lamis. I could still see them but they were being very slow and checking out each store thouroughly. Lamis was with the guard so I jogged back to them and told them to meet me at the tallest building nearby in three hours. I caught back up to Lamis just as she was done talking with the guard. She noticed my return and immediately grabbed my hand, dragging me in front of the guard.
"Siisishiiisithin. slighthis hsissss shhssssssisnsss." She said to the guard. Who turned to me and wrapped me in a sudden bear hug, almost crushing me with her strength.
"Shsiis shisssis ssissssss shiis"
Lamis smiled and translated for her.
"Shess saidss Thankss youss for savingssss me ands that ssshe likesss yourss smellsss" She giggled softly.
"Oh.....well tell her thanks, and it was no problem."
Lamis translated my message to her and she finally released me from her crushing hug with a big smile. She said something else to Lamis and left after blowing me a kiss.
"What did she say?"
Although I had a feeling I knew what she was saying I still wanted confirmation. Lamis giggled again and played her tail, I could see a deep blush on her cheeks despite her attempt to hide.
"Shesssaid to.....meetss her atsss hers innss if you wantssss to matess."
Ive only just got to this city and I got hit on by a Lamia guard. Not bad, I think im going to like this place.
