The transparent creature stopped working the spinning wheel and looked at me.

"Well, to be perfectly honest I can do more than that sir. Also may I ask a question?"

I nodded, stil in shock that there is a living, sentient ghost-like thing in my base.

"Why do you have these tools and such everywhere, but you have not made anything or anyone to use them?"

"I tried making living creatures before but I just got a headache and I ended up creating empty sacks of skin."

He seemed to wince when I said empty sacks of skin. Maybe he doesnt like the thought of beings like him being created wrong.

"Sir? Did you try to create the full creature with the insides too? You only need to have a clear image of the living creature, you dont need to go into the details of inner workings and such. As long as you can imagine them when they were alive."

That only gave me more questions. Mostly about himself and the actual purpose of this place. Also it is nice that he is being polite and all but im not really used to being talked to like a superior.

"I have some questions too, I stumbled on this place by accident. I have no idea what its actual purpose is and what im supposed to be doing here."

He looked really suprised.

"Are you not trying to become a god?"

It was my turn to be suprised. Become a god? I didnt think such a thing was possible. I mean yes, I know that there are some people who have gotten extremely powerful and are thought to be gods. But to actually become one is thought to be impossible without being a demi-god.

"I..did not think becoming a god was possible without becoming a demi-god first."

"You are right. But I didnt know that you wouldnt have realized it yet."

I felt sweat on my forehead as i think I know what he is about to say.

"You are a demi-god, you have been chosen a long time ago. I dont know how you have gotten this far without realizing that."

I cannot beleive it. Im a demi-god? What god chose me? Why me? This has got to be some god's sick game. This doesnt make any sense. The only gods I know the names of are the goddess of darkness and some of those weird gods that my people worship.

"Who chose me?"

Kevin stared at me for a second,

"I dont know sir, But it isnt hard to find out."

He got up and walked to a wall. He raised one of his arms and thrust it into the wall, I thought he was about to break his arm but it passed through with no resistance. He moved with arm through the wall like it was a pool of water, I could even see ripples around his arm. After a few seconds he found what he was looking for and pulled his arm back into the room.

His arm was now covered in a weird darkness that dripped off his arm slowly like a thick syrup.

"The energy that surrounds the outer walls of your inner world normally has the trait of the god or gods that chose you. This black sludge is a mark of Malady the godess. Has she spoke to you? or sent you a message sir?"

Oh dammit. I guess that message I got during that nightmare was about malady. What the hell does she need saving from though. At the rate her powers are growing, nothing is going to be able to hurt her.

Kevin seemed to notice that I was worried.

"What did she say sir?"

I sighed, might as well tell him.

"she told me to save her daughter."

The city of Elders rest is on fire.

Most of the guards were busy trying to put out the fires and get the civilians out of the way. Except for the noble guards who couldnt care less as long as the fire stayed away from the noble's area. Which was perfect for the rebellion. The soldiers ran up to the guards and killed them before they could react. Slicing open their throats or just decapitating them and moving on to the next guards. They broke through the gate and were on to wrecking houses and killing any nobles they saw. They were rampaging across the city, there were soldiers everywhere. Even some of the people that escaped the slums noticed the soldiers killing guards and joined in. They hated the guardsmen and were bullied by them all the time. They were happy to finally be able to get some payback.

Vold had arrived in the city just in time to see the fire blazing through. He practically walked throught the gates, the guards barely even looked at him as the fire had even reached the gates. He ignored them and just headed for the center of the city. To his old master's mansion. All the soldiers ignore Vold as they know he is their leader.

He looked really out of place walking at a leisurely pace as people around him screamed and were frantically putting out fires and trying to keep it from spreading. He kept his calm demeaner and walked through the open gates to the nobles area. Stepping over the dead guards, barely sparing a glance at the nobles that have been excecuted on their own lawns. He made sure to tell his men to spare some of the more important nobles. He wanted to keep them hostage to prevent the king or another noble from attacking. He was pleased they were following his orders as he saw some of the nobles tied up in the grass, surrounded by a couple soldiers.

Moments later he was opening the front door and letting himself in. The soldiers guarding the building saluted him as he passed. Taking himself to his former master's office and opening the door.

He smiled at the sight of Ternnen and his wife both tied up on the floor. Of course as soon as they saw the guards treating him with respect they knew he was behind this. Ternnens wife even started yelling obsceneties at Vold, threatening his family and freinds. She obviously knows nothing about him as he has no family left alive. As for his friends, they were part of the rebellion and knew the risks. He trusted them to protect themselves and serve the rebellion.

"lock them in the dungeon he has hidden in his basement. Make sure his wife is alone in her cell, but put him in with...his favorite. hehehe"

Tennen's eyes widen in horror.

"Not that thing no, This is a DEATH SENTENCE. With what I have put that man through he will most assuredly not let me live. YOU CANNOT DO THIS!!!"

His wife started crying still yelling at the soldiers promising them whatever she could if they would spare her the indecency of being locked in a cage. She didnt even bother begging for her husbands life.

so much for their marriage

Vold chuckled to himself as he sat in Ternenn's chair.

I wonder how long he will last against that thing.
