《The most human elf in Shaylet - Paused until further notice》My base

Malady was still driving the carraige. I could tell because when I look out one of the windows I can see the blurs of trees and such passing by. I kept training with my mana, attempting to mix together red and blue mana this time. It took time before it mixed without rejecting each other. Making a deep purple mana, with no ideas on how to use it I start experimenting. I lean out the window and throw a small amount at the ground to see if it will explode. It doesnt, what it does do is spread out like a fog and stick to the carraige. With the speed we were going the spot I hit was far away from us by now, yet the little bit that touched the carriage stuck to it.

Well, its sticky I guess.

I learned something about it at least, not enough to make it useful though. It didnt seem to damage anything though, so I continued my experiments inside the carriage. I try to condense it, but that just makes it like a thicker fog. I cant make it solid or do much with it. I just dropped the glob of fog onto the floor, sighing and thinking about why this mana wasnt doing anything. Absentmindedly I poked it with my foot, watching it stick to my boots.

I layed back down on the bed and realized I cant pull my foot up. The mist was holding on to my foot, I could see small tendrils of smoke wrapping around my foot.

Turns out this could be usefull after all.

It wasnt just holding onto my foot anymore, now it was pulling at me. Trying to get me deeper into its fog, I can even feel it absorbing some mana. I release some blue mana and it almost immediatley gets sucked into the purple fog, which gets a little denser afterwords.

This is going to be very usefull

A little happy finding a use for the new type of mana, I go back to meditating. I start trying to circulate the purple mana through my body. Which was a very bad idea, as soon as I had released some in my body I realized that. It stopped moving and grew, absorbing everything and blocking the stream of mana in my body. Once it grew to cover the entire passage and not let any more mana through, I felt a intense pain in that area. My hand flew to my chest, as the pain ripped through it. I slowed the flow of mana so it wouldnt grow anymore and lessened the pain a bit. Which helped me concentrate on getting rid of the purple mana and clearing it up.

That was horrible and couldve killed or at least crippled someone stronger than me, the flow of mana would have been like a raging river and the purple mana wouldve grown faster than they probably could have stopped it. Then again these mana passages in the elves gets large the more powerful you are, but that purple stuff grows fast. If I didnt stop it, it might have burst the passage. I focus on circulating some green mana to fix the damage I had caused before I moved on.

I decided to try something else stupid. Pure mana without any attribute is extremely dangerous as it is unpredictable and could cause anything to happen. Thats why humans use their spells to shape the mana or make it behave in a very specific way. Elves just manipulate mana directly to make what they want happen, letting the mana into their bodies and letting it change them. To make them stronger, or more resilient.

I let a tiny amount of pure mana flow around my body. Keeping a close eye on what it reacted with and what it changed. It honestly didnt do anything until it reached my head, I felt my hair grow longer and when I looked at it the color was slightly different. It was now a darker shade of green and it now reached to my shoulders. I didnt really mind it getting a little longer so I kept focusing on the pure mana. It moved around my head and went back down to my chest, where it started heading to the weird core in my chest. It got sucked into the small speck. It was weird seeing something so tiny absorb something that looked twice its size. I was not expecting that at all, but maybe using pure mana will make it bigger? I test this out by letting it absorb a little more pure mana. Which didnt do much, so I added some more and more until after a couple of tries it finally grew. It grew from being almost as small as a shiny speck of dust to a small pebble almost three times smaller than my thumb.

I wonder if that affected my base at all

Focusing on the glowing pebble I entered my base once again. I open my eyes to find myself in my room. I try to float forward and go out into the hall and fall flat on my face.

I have a body now?

I raise my arms and look at them. Picking myself up and walking around, im pretty sure if someone else was here I would look really stupid as I test my body. Jumping and running in circles. I only stop when I remember why I came here. I leave the room only to duck back into the room and alter the entrance to be a large reinforced double door with a metal bar holding it closed.

However all this didnt stop the thing I saw in the hall from simply walking through the door like it wasnt there. It just floated through and looked at me with its weird blank eyes.

It was a transparent creature, almost black everywhere but its eyes. It was vaguely humanoid with arms and legs but that is where the similarities stop. It just floated there, staring at me with empty white eyes.

Maybe I overreacted. It doesnt seem to be hostile, I guess.

I returned the door back to its original state since it didnt do anything anyway and look back at the transparent thingy.

It seemed to just be watching me, and waiting for something. I ignore it for now and walk into the room across from my bedroom. It was one of the empty rooms I was trying to think of a purpose for. I thought that since I made a forge I would make a room dedicated to other crafts. First I made the room a bit bigger and then added a loom, a spinning wheel, a carpenters workplace complete with saws and woodworking tools and tons of other tools. Even a pottery wheel and some shelves. The thing watching me started looking at the spinning wheel intently. I was curious so I created a pile of cotton in a basket and handed it to the ghost-like thing. It quickly took the basket and started spinning it into thread.

It was apparently very skilled at it as it got started in no time. I have no idea what this thing is or why its here, but it seems to be harmless. Not really sure what to do with what its making but maybe it will have an idea.

Well, might as well give you a name. Hmmm........

Mervin. Good enough.

"From now on your name is mervin"

"But my name is kevin sir"

"Shit! you can talk?"
