《The Graveyard of the Dungeon God》Chapter 9 - Rise of the first Skeletons

After Marluxia emerged from his room, he was pleasantly surprised as he realized that his dungeon now housed around a hundred Wicked Snow Snakes. That may does not sound like a lot but it was still enough to ensure his safety for now. Theoretically Marluxia could now open his Dungeon.
It´s still not enough to open the Dungeon. Looks like I need to submerge all my time now again in my Undead project. I must, no I will succeed this time.
Marluxia scratched his head. Before that I must do something important. Oscar, my boy come over here it´s soon time to open the Dungeon so I should now appoint a my Dungeon Boss
As all the snakes heard the words Dungeon Boss they all started happily hissing, because all of them knew how important a Dungeon Boss appointment is. When a Dungeon Boss is appointed by the Dungeon Core or in this case by the Dungeon God the appointed Monster will evolve into a higher being. Also the soul of that being is forever bond onto this Dungeon, which means after the Boss is defeated his soul will return to the Dungeon Core or God. The Dungeon Core or God in this case can easily create a new body for the Boss than. That’s why Bosses are always the strongest Monster in a Dungeon as they never really die and they retain their memories.
Oscar slowly sidled towards Marluxia. Proudly he made his way through the mass of Wicked Snow Snakes with his head raised high. In his eyes Marluxia could see the yearn after power. Over the course of time Oscars build had become even more bulky, through the influence of the high Mana density on the second floor.
From now on you are the Guardian of a God be proud little Snake and receive this blessing. From this second on your yearn after power has to skyrocket as you have to make your Ancestors proud of you
With a slight tap on Oscars head Marluxia appointed him as his first Dungeon Boss. Every five floors he will be able to create a new Dungeon Boss. After Marluxia taped Oscars head a Mana Formation lighted up under Oscars body. A lot of Mana was sucked from the surrounding and pulled towards the Formation beneath Oscar. All this Mana entered Oscars body and tempered him.

After around an hour passed since this process started the light of the Formation slowly dimmed down. When the Formation than completely had faded Oscars body didn´t change at all. He still had the same length and all. Marluxia didn´t get disappointed because of this as he could feel that Oscars aura completely changed. What the Mana tempered was not only the bones in his body and his protective scales, the most of the tempering got Oscars mind.
“Massster thisss little Sssnake will not dissssappoint you”
Oscar hissed and lowered his head. It seems like Oscar did something like a bow towards Marluxia. With a smile on Marluxias face he patted Oscars head. So you can speak now was everything he said.
Oscar the Wicked Snow Snake evolved into a Stage 0 Boss Monster. Boss Monster are only half a step higher than the normal version of the Monster, on the same stage as them. Boss Monsters are more intelligent and through that more likely to evolve. Through the Boss appointment the snake called Oscar gained the ability to create a poisonous Aura.
“Massster thisss Sssnake wondersss, why you try to create Undead from sssscretch. Couldn´t you ussse the dead humansss of the graveyard as raw materialsss?”
Oscar said what he was thinking for the last few days. In his opinion shouldn´t it be easier to create Undead successful when corpse where used as raw materials. He saw all the times Marluxia tried to create Undeads and that every one of these experiments failed.
After Marluxia heard Oscars question his body grew suddenly stiff and he mumbled. Why didn´t I thought of that sooner? a big smile creped on his face Thank you Oscar you were a great help Marluxia grabbed empty air and suddenly a shovel materialized in his hand. Looks like I will dig some graves up
Marluxia waited until it was pitch-black outside. Then he created a small tunnel to the outside world. Thank to the Snake Bloodline in his veins the darkness was no problem for him. He could still see as good as if it was daytime. Marluxia was now standing in a graveyard. He searched around in the vicinity what he looked for were graves that looked like they weren’t tend to in the last few years. After looking around for a few minutes he found a few graves that seemed like the best choice. Slowly he dug eight people out and stored their bones in his Shadow Storage.

He tried his best to let the graves look like before he stared his evil work. After he felt like it should be now okay to leave it so he started to hasty make his way back into the dungeon. After he returned Marluxia destroyed the path that leaded outside.
With a smile he extracted his test subjects, the eight skeletons and started to slowly guide Mana in one of these corpses. I guided a small amount of Fire Mana in every single bone of that skeleton, because he didn´t want a explosion like last time he only plant to use around 10% Fire Mana of the total amount of Mana he wanted to use to create this undead. As he didn´t want the bones to melt down like the last time he only infused half of the amount he used of Fire Mana to infuse the bones with Water Mana. This made the bones slightly get a jade-like glow.
Maluxia had the feeling, that even though he had to use every four base elements Mana to create an animal, that he shouldn´t infuse the bones with any Air Mana, because they would immediately turn to dust through the Air Mana. Another feeling he had was that Undead were deeply bond with earth. So he infused the bones with around half the amount more than he had by Fire Mana in Earth Mana.
As the Undead didn´t really life he also didn´t use any bit of Life Mana instead he used for the rest of the percentage Death Mana. After he infused the bones with Death Mana and the infused Death Mana reached the percentage of 55% of the completely in the bones infused Mana, the bones started to glow bright.
Marluxia was already completely covered in sweat. The process took him almost five hours, but after he saw that the bones started to glow he knew deep inside that he had succeeded. The bones assembled together to a skeleton, which rose than from the ground and kneeled before Marluxia. Slowly Marluxia reached behind him, he was sitting before the weapon rack which contained the spears he forged. He grabbed the spear he named Little Snake and gave it the first Skeleton he created.
It looks like it´s much easier to create undead with a raw material as base.
After Marluxia recovered all his Mana he started to create the other Skeletons. The reason why he only dug up eight graves was, because he only had eight finished spears. It would be dumb to place a Skeleton without a proper weapon in his dungeon so until he has not finished more weapons it was just a waste of Mana to create more Skeletons.
Through the processes to create the other Skeletons Marluxia got more efficient. He needed less time and less Mana with every try. After he created the last Skeleton and awarded him with the last weapon Marluxia currently had, a blue Screen popped up before him.
Skill Summon Minor Undead Skeletons acquired
I didn´t get them in my Monster Summon Menu?
A bit confused Marluxia decided to check out his new acquired Skill.
Summon Minor Undead Skeletons Level 1
User is able to make the dead rise again under his control to life.
8/10 Minor Skeletons summoned
It´s possible to summon Minor Skeletons without a Raw Material as Base, only the Mana cost to activate this Skill would double than. If a dead body used as Raw Material for this Skill, there exists a very low possibility that the Skeleton regains a bit of his former memories.
Marluxia smirked as he read the description of this Skill. With a dark grin he rubbed his hands together Looks like it´s time to open up my Dungeon, if I am lucky a lot of unlucky adventurer dies and I can use them as raw materials for this new acquired Skill. How knows maybe a few Skeleton can use a few of their former abilities or at last acquire a bit of their former weapon mastery.

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.

And now welcome Markus Fickus, your average young man in our average and boring world! He was just an ordinary man, until one day, something changed his whole life. As he ate his breakfast on that fateful morning, little did he know that he would choke on his coffee and die—just to be reincarnated in the world of Fantasiaia! "Wait, what?" Mark said, looking up from his bowl of cereal. He didn't follow the script properly, and forgot to prepare his coffee. "I thought Fantasiaia was a VRMMO," Mark muttered as he made his way to his coffee machine. "How can someone reincarnate into a game?" Of course, what Mark didn't know was that logic and reason didn't matter. It was magic! Besides, everyone loves virtual reality stories and reincarnation novels. So why not have both? Mark shook his head sadly, but prepared his coffee in silence. When he finished, he looked up at the sky—and saw only the dull white ceiling of his apartment. He felt utterly cheated that the last thing he would see in this world was the peeling paint on the wall. "They are not paying me enough for this," Mark grumbled, then drank up his coffee. And then he died. PS: I found the cover picture on THE INTERNET. By no means will I tell you the artist's name or give any credit to them, but I let you know that the image is not mine.
