Chapter 034 - Boss Plan Part 2

[Karla]: “Go!”

Karla pushed open the door with her hands, and she then rushed inside the room with her eyes close to prevent that the flash of the grenade would blind her. At the same time, Karga threw the grenade in the middle of the room so it could blind all the guards inside as they moved their eyes to Karla’s direction.

Meanwhile, Cyan was at the entrance while holding his weapon at the shoulder level with his eyes also closed as he waited to hear the flash grenade detonation for opening them again. He only had to wait for one second as the detonation came shortly after Karla had opened the door.

Cyan could not help but think that the Twins were very precise while doing their work unlike their usual carefree behavior as he opened both of his eyes.

The first thing that Cyan saw was Karla, it only has been a second but she was already halfway through the distance for reaching her target, and better yet, the flash has successfully blinded her target because it was stumbling around.

The second thing that Cyan saw was the second Twin, Karga, breaking into a sprint and rushing into the room, with the intentions to take down the second guard that was also been blinded by the flash.

However, when Cyan focused his attention at the back of the room, where his target was, his expression changed into horror as everything started to slow down in time for him.

The flash had not blinded the guard at the back because it was giving his back to the door, and even worse than that, it was now moving towards Alice that was on the ground just beside him while holding a knife in his right hand.

Cyan felt a cold wind going throughout his mind as he could already predict the guard intentions; that guard probably wanted to use Alice as a shield for himself.

The Twins also took notice of this, but they could only say their prayers, so Cyan does not miss his shot, because even if they wanted they could not make it in time.

Cyan was already prepared for this, he had his weapon in position while his finger was already on the trigger and now his target was set; it was 20 meters away from him and moving into the right.

Cyan then aimed his gun to the place he had predicted that the guard would be moving into, and then he pressed the trigger of his gun without any hesitation, as the thought “please, make it in time!” crossed his cold mind.

The bullet immediately left the gun cannon and traveled in a spiral across the room, while passing in front of Karga that was in the middle of reaching his target, and passed near the sides of Karla that was already in the middle of delivering a kick to blind guard stomach.

The [Energy Bullet] made it into the back of the room and then, it found its target, as it went throughout the guard sides while carbonizing everything that had found in its path and into the other side ending in the energy barrier wall, this had created a dark tunnel the size of a coin into the guard stomach.

The guard immediately dropped into the ground while screaming in pain, but he fainted shortly after because of the excruciating pain he was feeling.

At the same time, Cyan got a few notifications to his phone.

Message [Midas]: “Player Cyan is fined 10.000 Credits for severely injuring another Player outside the [PVP Arena]”

….

[Midas] have immediately issue Cyan with several fines, and in total, he had to pay 50.000 in Credits for severely hurting another Player, even so, he ignored it.

After making sure that the guard was not getting up, he moved to support the Twins, but by that time, the Twins both already had knocked out the two other guards.

Cyan could let a sigh of relief as he lowered his weapon, before dashing forward into Alice direction.

[Cyan]: “Alice!”

Alice that was at the back of the room was been tie up with a rope so she could not run away and she was blindfolded and they had put a gag on her so she could not scream for help.

Cyan quickly took out his sword and easily cut the Alice restrains and removed the blindfold and the gag.

[Alice]: “Cyan!”

After Alice restrains had been removed and she saw Cyan face for the first time, she could only break into a cry, Cyan moved to comfort her

[Cyan]: “Alice is ok, you are safe now”

Cyan cleaned her tears away from her face, as he thought that Alice beautiful face should not be filled with tears.

[Cyan]: “They did something bad to you?”

Alice shook her head.

[Alice]: “They didn’t because they would get penalized by [Midas] if they did, however”

Alice stopped for a second.

[Alice]: “They had said that if the Boss’s faction doesn’t pay for the rescue, they would start cutting my fingers off and that if I tried to run away they would cut my legs”

Cyan could only clench his hand into a fist as he heard how they had been putting threats on Alice mind so she does not try to run away from them.

Cyan then turned around to look at the guards that were being tied up with rope by Karga as he had the impulse to make a new hole into the guard’s heads after hearing how they had treated Alice.

Alice took notice of Cyan dark expression and could try to stop Cyan for doing something he could regret later by putting the blame on herself.

[Alice]: “I am sorry Cyan it is my entire fault that this had happened”

Cyan returned to his senses and turned to look at Alice that was almost breaking into a cry again.

[Cyan]: “It is not your fault Alice, it is my fault I should have never let those people put a finger in you in the first place”

Cyan and Alice could only try to put the blame on themselves but Karla interrupted them as she already had enough of this.

[Karla]: “If you two love-fools are over with your touchy reunion, we still need to get out of here”

Cyan turned his head around and nodded, Karla was right.

Karla then kneeled down in front of Alice.

[Karla]: “Alice, Can you walk?”

Alice checked around her body and did not found anything wrong it, so she nodded, making Karla let out a sigh of relief.

Cyan then helped Alice to stand back up on her feet, while Karla fed her with an [Energy Drink] and an [Energy Food], just to be sure.

Karla also presented Alice with a phone.

[Karla]: “I believed this is yours”

Alice soon had realized that this was her own phone, and Karla had found it after searching the body of the guard that Cyan had shot down.

Karla thought it was a good thing that their phones could not go inside their inventories or they could never have found it.

Alice took her phone back from the hands of Karla with teary eyes, and then she gave Karla a heartfelt thank you while doing a small bow.

[Alice]: “Thank very much, Senior”

Karla shook her head as she dismissed Alice thanks.

[Karla]: “Just do me a favor don’t lose it ever again, understood?”

Alice nodded as she put a smile this time.

Karla still hated being a babysitter for kids, but maybe for Alice sake, she could bear it for a while longer.

Karla returned to her usual serious atmosphere while she checked the clock on her phone. They only had taken three minutes for Alice’s rescue, and now it was time to leave the area.

[Karga]: “We only have four minutes left, Karga”

[Karga]: “I already finished tying up all the guards”

[Karla]: “Alright, let's go”

Everyone nodded as the moved next to the entrance.

[Karla]: “There could be an enemy party waiting for us outside this room, newbie, the [Map]”

Cyan was already expecting for this as he had the [Map] already open in his phone, on the other hand, Alice was surprised as she remembered that this was the [Map] Cyan had used to found her the first time, and now she had realized how Cyan was able to found her so easily.

Karla while using the [Map] could see that Players have indeed gathered just outside the room, but in her opinion, they do not seem to be the welcoming party from the King’s faction and were more like spectators.

Karla let out a sigh of relief after she had taken a peek using her mirror at the outside, but she only saw a crowd of spectators, in the end, she could only think that this was thanks to Boss that was keeping busy the Players of King’s faction on Floor 6.

After confirming the situation outside, Karla nodded with her head to indicate Karga the outside was clear.

[Karla]: “Alright, newbie, that’s enough, use your weapon from now on”

Cyan nodded as he put his phone away and took his weapon out again, he still has 19 rounds in the magazine.

[Karla]: “This is how we will leaving, I will be on the front, Cyan after me, and then Alice, Karga you will be in the back, we move at the same time, understood?”

[Cyan]: “Understood!” [Alice]: “Understood!”, [Karga]: “Understood!”

[Karla]: “Alright, at my signal, I will open the door, and then we all will be heading for the elevator, don’t stop until we get there”

Everyone nodded. However, Karla had specific instructions for Cyan.

[Karla]: “Newbie”

[Cyan]: “Yes, Senior?”

[Karla]: “If someone dares to block our path or tries to hinder us in any way, I want for you to make a hole into their stomach, understood?”

Cyan turned around his head to look at the wound of the guard he had just shoot, the wound was being healed but unlike normal, it was a very slow process as the nanobots were having a hard time because, skin, fat, muscles, blood, and bones have all but been vaporized into smoke by the [Energy Bullet]. A normal human would have died already from this kind of wounds and Cyan had no doubt about this fact.

Cyan could only shutter to the thought of what would happen if he shoots someone in the head, as he thought of his practice with Karla just an hour ago, and how close he was on getting a hit on her shoulder, but thankfully, he had missed the shot.

Karla thought Cyan was hesitating because of the guard he had shot and now he has realized that he could easily kill a Player with his gun.

However, what is bothering Cyan thoughts was that he could have severely injured Karla during their training if he was any better while aiming with his gun.

Not to mention, even when she was aware of the firepower of the weapon, as Cyan had demonstrated it before the start of the training, Karla had offered herself up to be his target for him to practice, and all the while, she has been hindered by the side effects of overusing her [Skill].

All of this was making Cyan feel a pain in his heart for his selfish wish of wanting to save Alice all by himself not caring for anything else.

[Karla]: “Newbie, I don’t want you to shoot to kill, I just want you just to incapacitate them, understood?”

Cyan turned around and nodded with his head.

[Cyan]: “Senior, no matter who stands on our path, I will remove it from your sight!”

Karla could only massage her temples.

[Karla]: “Just don’t go overboard, newbie, we don’t want you to kill a Player and then be expelled from the Tower, ok?”

Karla did not mind killing a few Players of the King’s faction on their way out, but that would get them expelled of the Tower and from being a Player, and right now, they cannot have that.

Cyan nodded with his head again, as he could feel Karla care from them once more.

When everyone was ready to go, Karla, ordered them to take their positions and form a single line.

Cyan felt Alice trembling behind him; he turned around and looked into Alice's eyes while holding her hand.

[Cyan]: “Stay behind me until we get to the elevator, don’t worry everything will be fine; our Seniors know what they are doing”

Cyan trust in the Twins was very high and it was transmitted to Alice.

Alice nodded as she took a long breath to calm herself down and stopped her body keep shaking; right now, she has to remain strong.

[Karla]: “Everyone is ready?”

Everyone nodded.

Karla then took out her phone and sent a voice message to Boss.

[Karla]: “Boss we got the package; we will be heading for the elevator in 30 seconds”

After Karla has sent the message, she put her phone away and started the count down from ten.

…

[Karla]: “3”

[Karla]: “2”

[Karla]: “1”

[Karla]: “Go!”

Karla opened the doors and exited the room together with Cyan and Alice on a toe, while Karga was protecting the rear.

Outside the room, Players had gathered around the entranced because of the commotion that the Twins had made while trying to enter the room a few minutes ago, not to mention, it was revealed now to other Players, that there was a [Hidden Area] in the [Lobby], and now the Players were growing curious about what is inside.

Luckily, none of those Players was from the King’s Faction as they were having an unplanned visitor into their floor that was preventing them from leaving the floor.

In consequence, none of those Players stood on their way to the elevator.

Moreover, even if the Players were curious, Karla and Karga were armed with a knifes while Cyan was holding a weapon while auras were not friendly for anyone to dare come near them, as they opened a path for them to walk by.

In the end, Cyan, Alice, and the Twins have managed to reach the elevator safely and pressed the button to close the elevator doors, making everyone let a sigh of relief at the same time, as they had finally escaped from the [Lobby] without problems.

After a few seconds, they were back in Floor 3, at their usual table, a place where they could finally feel safe.

Alice immediately wanted to explain to them what had happened yesterday.

[Alice]: “Senior last night”

However, Karla interrupted her before Alice could continue.

[Karla]: “Let’s wait for Boss to get here first, after that, you can tell us what had has happened”

Alice nodded.

Everyone waited without saying anything because there was only one thing they wanted to hear.

The silence only lasted for 3 minutes as Boss had finally shown up to the table while looking all free of wounds.

Even so, everyone took notice that even if Boss was free of wounds, his clothes were not, as it was cut in some places and had a few dark spots in different places. That meant Boss has been into a fight with other Players, but the nanobots already had healed the wounds left on his body.

No one asked Boss how he got these marks on him, as everyone was already more or less aware of how.

Karla was the first one to welcome Boss into the table, as she was just happy to see Boss coming back alive and without having any of his limbs missing after going solo against a Floor.

[Karla]: “Welcome back Boss, did you have a hard time with the Players of King’s faction?”

Boss could only give a short replied.

[Boss]: “Piece of cake”

Karla nodded while Boss then turned his head to look into Alice's eyes.

[Boss]: “Alice”

[Alice]: “Yes Boss?”

[Boss]: “I am sorry”

Boss gave his heartfelt apology while bowing down with his head.

Alice shook her head trying to stop Boss while showing that this was not Boss fault.

[Karla]: “Alice, can you tell us what had happened?”

Alice nodded.

[Alice]: “Last night, I hear a knock on the door, and then I got a message from Cale saying that Miss Karla wanted to see me in her room”

Karla could only let out a sigh as she started to massage her temples; this was just another headache for her.

It was now a fact that Cale had something to do in this matter, even when Karla had seen him with together with the King at the [Lobby] she was still hoping for it to be a misunderstanding.

However, hearing it for Alice herself was not easy for Karla, because that meant she had failed to read a person and even worse was that she had failed to Boss, and even if Boss did not see it in that way, she was still feeling responsible for all of this.

Alice stopped as she saw Karla shoulders dropping as she started to massage her temples.

[Alice]: “Senior, are you ok?”

Karla dismissed the headache she was feeling.

[Karla]: “You can continue Alice”

Alice nodded.

[Alice]: “When I opened the door Cale was outside waiting for me, he said he would escort me to your room, I didn’t think too much of it or believed that anything was wrong at that moment, so I exited my room, but then”

Alice made a paused as she blamed herself for not realizing it sooner if Karla wanted to see her why she did not have sent the message using her phone and instead of sending Cale in her stead.

[Alice]: “When I exited my room I was restrained, after that, they took me to the room where you had found me”

Boss nodded; with this Cale participation in Alice kidnapping, has been all but confirm.

Cyan could only clench his teeth, as Cale was someone they had been sharing the same table with, and now he had gone and done such despicable act.

Karga could only put his hand over Cyan shoulder to calm him down because as for Boss and the Twins are concerned, a betrayal in the GP was not something new, and they all had experienced it before. However, even if they are used to it, it had always left them with a sour taste into their mouths, even more so, when the person they trusted so much ends been a double agent.

Karga let out a sigh as he was remembered of the past he wished to forget. He then thought of something to move the conversation forward into another topic.

[Karga]: “Right, Alice you know what was in that area?”

They had been so focused while rescuing Alice that they did not have taken any glance at the room, not to mention, unlike the previous time when they got a reward when they entered a [Hidden Area] this time, they have not received anything of those sorts.

Nevertheless, Alice could still hear the Players of King’s faction talking around her about this area.

[Alice]: “They had said it was a [Shop], but unlike the normal [Shop] in our phones, you could buy [Silver] and [Gold] Class items from it using your phone”

Karga nodded as he that understood that the [Hidden Arena] this time was, in fact, a secret [Shop] that was selling better items than the normal shop has.

Karga had to explain to Cyan that in the normal [Shop] there is only [Wood] and [Bronze] Class items available for the Weapons and Armors because Cyan was too busy while training with Boss in the last couple of days to check the [Shop].

Karga also explained Cyan that such items are very expensive to buy, at 100.000 Credits for the [Wood] and 300.000 Credits for the [Bronze] Class items.

After Karga had ended his explanation, Alice took the chance to add further to her explanation, with the things that she had heard while she was a hostage for the King’s faction.

[Alice]: “They had said that a [Silver] Class item cost was 500.000 Credits and that a [Gold] Class item cost was of 1.000.000 Credits, they had also said that they would be trading me to buying one of those items at the store”

Cyan remembered how he had obtained two [Gold] Class item from two random boxes and he could only let out a bitter laugh, as he wondered if he had known that, would he had tried to rescued Alice while trading her for the items? However, in the end, Cyan dismissed those thoughts out his mind.

The Twins on the other hand only could feel pain into their stomachs as they remembered how they had expended their Credits into [Bronze] Class items that they had yet to use and that they had forgotten.

However, they all forgot about their pains, as Alice kept happily smiling while giving them her thanks for saving her, blowing all their worries away for a while.

[Alice]: “Thank you, Seniors, for saving me”

Alice bowed her head as a show of gratitude once more, but Karla soon stopped her after the third time, as she shook her head.

[Karla]: “It is too soon for that Alice, you two are still not safe”

[Cyan]: “What do you mean Senior?”

Just as Cyan asked, a loud voice was heard all across the Floor.

[Unknown]: “Well well, but isn’t the Boss’s faction sitting in their usual table”

Cyan turned around and saw a despicable man with a crooked smile standing just a few meters away from them.

That man was no other than the leader of the King’s faction, King, and besides him was Aiden and Cale.

[King]: “Haha, you lot thought you could run away from me inside this Tower?”

Boss and the Twins stood up from their seats while letting a sigh as it was time for the next step in Boss plan.
