Chapter 021 - A Day Worth of Training.

Cyan opened his eyes welcoming a new day inside the [Training Tower], a lot has happened in a short amount of time, of course, if you didn’t count his missing week, were he slept for most of the time, it has been only 4 days since he entered the Tower, in this short amount of time he got a message from his future self, reunited with Alice, and joined the GP faction, which now was training him to increase all of his stats.

Even though factions were just an arrangement between Players, there is no problem in just being part of one, for now. Cyan could also form his own faction after unlocking a Floor but nobody would follow a kid he thought, but still, forming his own faction was out of the question, Cyan joined the GP faction for gaining their protection and their training inside the Tower, and even though the twins training method was crazy hard, they are also very strong as they also had partaken in the same training as him, Cyan could confirm how strong they are in yesterday training as Karga leisurely ran beside him while avoiding all the obstacles by a paper-thin margin in the same track he was running on, Cyan wants to reach that level one day.

After waking up from his thoughts Cyan took a shower before taking his phone out and read throughout his notifications.

Notification [Midas]: “Player grow 2 STR”

In total, Cyan has grown 9 stats points during the night, plus the 2 Free Points of the Quest, it was an impressive growth, not to mention that all of his stats had grown at the same time, meaning that Karga training was working quite well on him, he also took notice of something else, even though Karga had said they didn’t know how to increase the Intelligence stat, his has increased overnight by 1 point.

Immediately after that Cyan checked for his new status.

Cyan could not help to think Karga will be impressed by his status growth after just one day of training, for now on he only needs to keep training even harder, with a renewed motivation Cyan exited his room, ready to start today’s training.

After exiting his room Cyan met with Alice in the hallway, he thought that Alice would be still mad because of yesterday incident, but she didn’t look that angry, in the end, after sharing a morning salute, they both went together to get something for breakfast in Floor 3, Cyan took the chance to ask Alice how was her status, but she brushed off the question and ask him back if he has the Credits for buying food.

Cyan took the chance to see how much Credits he has gathered overnight.

It was a quite good sum, over 6000 Credits, Cyan will not have to worry about not being able to buy food for today, because after yesterday training he has ended devouring 5 plates worth of food, those were all paid by Karga in the end because he was out of Credits at that moment, now he can pay Karga back, still, he can only feel sorrowful that he will have to buy another ten sets of [Energy] items for today's training also after using all of them on yesterday together with five Floor [Ticket]’s

Alice history was also similar, she was to buy [Energy] items for her training and use her Floor [Tickets]’s, however, she has managed to run a lot more kilometers than Cyan during her training, so she has earned just enough Credits for buying food for today, not to mention, she didn’t use all of her ten sets of [Energy] items during her training, she only ended using five sets in total.

When Cyan and Alice entered the [Food Area] they spotted Boss and the twins were already sitting in a table and were making signals for them to come over and sit down with them, they both agreed that they should them for breakfast.

Karla gave them her morning welcome at the same time she was teasing them.

[Karla]: “But if it isn’t the loving couple walking together”

Cyan and Alice look at each other before turning their gazes away, while their faces started to become a little red, they had forgotten that Karla was like this.

[Boss]: “…”

[Karla]: “Alright alright, why don’t you both take a sit and order something, if you don’t have Credits Karga will pay for you”

[Cyan]: “That won’t be necessary Senior I have enough to pay for my own food”

[Alice]: “I also have enough but thanks for the offer Mrs. Karga”

Karga wanted to refute what his sister had said was not true, but held himself back, because the kids had answered before he could say anything, making him left out a sigh of relief, after all, he has used up almost all of his Credits and bought a weapon and an armor set from the [Shop] just yesterday night, meaning, he was clean out of Credits and probably Karla was also the same.

Cyan took a chair without saying anything else and ordered an extra lager breakfast, he has been feeling hungry since waking up this morning, making the food taste even more delicious, a growing boy needs a lot of resources for growing up right? Alice did the same as she didn’t hold herself back when ordering food, a growing girl needs a lot of resources for growing up too right?

Karla could only giggle at the sight of Cyan and Alice eating to their heart's content, this was a side effect of their training inside the Tower, not that anyone would complain, after all, their training was very hard and tiring to no end.

Boss and Karga ended their food first and started to leave the table, seeing this Cyan could not help but ask what happened to today’s training plan.

[Cyan]: “Senior won’t we be training today?”

Instead of Karga answering that question, it was Karla who did it.

[Karla]: “I will be in charge of today’s training first, while Karga will be accompanying Boss into the [Fighting Arena], after 4 hours we will be switching”

[Karga]: “Right, Cyan can you sell us two [Ticket]?”

Cyan nodded and handed the [Ticket]’s to Boss after he transferred the Credits to him, after that they left the area.

In the other hand, Alice could not help but ask.

[Alice]: “Has Boss been fighting inside the [Fighting Arena] all this time?”

Karla just nodded confirming Alice question.

[Alice]: “Then has there been any progress?”

Karla thought for a second before giving a reply.

[Karla]: “There has been some progress, but for now we will be taking turns and enter the Floor together with Boss and challenge the [Fighting Arena]”

There was something else that Alice wanted to ask but she was hesitating to ask.

[Karla]: “What it is Alice?”

[Alice]: “That… Did we will be also entering the [Fighting Arena] for today?”

Karla could only shake her head, showing her refusal.

[Karla]: “It is still too early for you two, you both should wait at least a week before even thinking entering it, even so, we will not force you two to enter it anyway, but if you do…”

Before Karla could finish she was interrupted.

[Cyan]: “I want to enter that Floor”

[Karla]: “What was that newbie? Do you want to enter the [Fighting Arena]? please don’t joke with me, you don’t even know what’s inside that Floor”

[Cyan]: “Even so…, Senior I want to enter it… it doesn’t have to be right now but… I definitely want to enter that Floor”

Before Karla could say anything else, Alice also joined Cyan declaration.

[Alice]: “I also… I also have to enter, Miss Karla we ask this of you”

Karla could see the determination in Cyan and Alice gazes, however, wouldn’t this be the same a helping them to kill themselves? Even so, she could only let out a sigh of self-reproach, wasn’t she the one that said they couldn’t soft with the kids? And she was here, in the very next day, worrying about their wellbeing and trying to stop them.

[Karla]: “Alright, you both will get your chance next week, however, the training will be doubled from now on, so don’t go complaining that is too hard and that you want to give up later on, ok?”

Cyan and Alice nodded as their faces light up, Karla thought this shouldn’t be the norm, she could not help but to think, “What kind of normal person would be happy of entering that Floor apart from Boss”, in the end, she could only think there should be something wrong with the kids of today.

[Cyan]: “Thank you, Senior”

[Alice]: “Thank you, Miss Karla”

[Karla]: “Save it for after the training”

Even though Karla was worrying about the kids she was showing a smile, after all, she got them to accept doubling the training on their own without much problem.

On the track field, Karla, Cyan, and Alice were running in the same track.

[Karla]: “Aren’t you a happy newbie? You get to run in the same track as your sweetheart, that way you don’t need to be looking all around now haha”

Cyan didn’t have any lead way to retort back to the laughing Karla, Karla wasn’t kidding when she said that the training would double from now on.

First the track they were using had transformed into an obstacle course that combined their training plans into one, getting hit would mean Cyan would be kissing the floor while spraying blood, and unlike yesterday, when the obstacles where sparse around the track, now they were densely packed at every step, Alice had to her speed to dodged everything, while Cyan had to used his body to go through everything, all the while trying to run as fast as he could.

Meanwhile, Karla was taking turns teaching them how to dodge the obstacles by a paper-thin margin, and also how to get hit when dodging become impossible, and as their training had become double, Karla’s job of training the kids had also become double, she could no longer leisurely run on the track while coaching them, she had to remain focus as she instructed them, this was not an easy track to run on, even for her.

Karla way of training was by using negative reinforcement, every time Cyan or Alice failed to pass the same obstacle twice, weights would be added as a punishment, making dodging even harder and thus creating a vicious cycle of failing to dodged an obstacle and getting more weights to their bodies, after 4 hours of training Cyan and Alice where barely crawling into the track thanks to the added weight.

After 4 hours they all meet again in Floor 3, When Karga showed up into the Floor he didn’t look any better than Cyan and Alice, so they took a small a rest, after that it was Karla turn for going into Floor 8 while Karga would be taking the charged of training the kids in Floor 5.

Cyan has been receiving notifications in his phone but he could not move a finger to take his phone out, not to mention Alice that was in the same situation, however, Karga carry them both and drop them inside the [Rest Area] where a ton of buff was applied and healed them back up, including Karga himself, actually he went to the [Rest Area] first to heal himself more than helping out the kids, but he couldn’t just leave them behind.

After one hour that they were at their top condition again, then they were brought back into Floor 5 to continue with the same training that Karla had left them, however, Karga didn’t add the weights punishment gaining the favor of Cyan and Alice. But this all came to its end after 3 hours when Karla came back and dragged a kicking Karga into the elevator and pressed the Floor 8 button with an evil smile, unlike her brother she could not heal up in the [Rest Area] because the kids could not enter anymore for the day, now that she thinks about it, it would have been better for her to enter first. After dealing with her brother, Karla turned around to Alice and Cyan that were running on the track, it was punishment time.

This switch was carried out every 4 hours for the duration of the day, only taking breaks to eat into the [Food Area], and by the end of the day, Boss sited down in a table with other fourth lifeless bodies which souls had escaped from their bodies as a company, of everyone in the table only Boss was moving at the end of the day, he didn’t seem to be that affected unlike the twins as he was eating his food normally.

After 5 minutes Cyan was revived by the smell of the food on the table as everyone else was, Boss had ordered food for everyone after seeing that nobody was moving or ordering anything, soon they all were devouring the food that was in front of them at a very fast pace, the color started to return to their place faces after eating their fifth plate of food, even so, they all had returned to their lively selves.

Karla started teasing Cyan, while Karga was telling Alice the horrors of Boss training and how they were actually lucky of having them as trainers instead of the mad crazy Boss way of training. In the end, everyone gave his thanks to Boss for the food that he had ordered for everyone, he also refused everyone’s Credits.

[Karla]: “Thank you, Boss”, [Karga]: “Thank you, Boss”, [Cyan]: “Thank you, Boss”, [Alice]: “Thank you, Boss”

[Boss]: “…”

[Karla]: “Oh I never had seen the Boss being so flustered before”

[Karga]: “Oh you are right”

Even though Karga could not notice any difference he still played along with his Sister.

[Boss]: “…”

Everyone left the area one by one and went to their respective rooms to take a rest, even though the table had been lively, the fact was they are all dead tired.

Cyan entered his room and plumbed on top of his bed.

After recovering enough energy he took out his phone and checked his messages.

Message [Midas]: “Player has completed 80 km, Awarded 640 Credits”

Message [Midas]: “Player has completed 130 km, Awarded 1690 Credits”

Message [Midas]: “Player rank update to #201, Awarded 500 Credits”

Message [Midas]: “Quest [Start your training II] [6] Cleared, Player is rewarded with 1 Free Point”

Message [Midas]: “Quest [Start your training II] [7] Cleared, Player is rewarded with 1 Free Point”

After increasing his stats so much, the amount of kilometers he could run had been increased by many folds in a single day, even when he was forced to carry a ton of weights into his body as a penalty for failing to dodge an obstacle twice, at this pace he would probably end the Quest by tomorrow training.

Even though Cyan was dead tired, he didn’t want to close his eyes, because every time he does he will have the same dream, it has been 4 days already and every day he was having the same dream hammered into his head, even so, his tired body wasn’t cooperating with him, in the end, Cyan entered back into a world of dreams once again.
