I will work on updating this chapter as I have not proofread it and figured you guys would want to read it as I haven't posted in a while, I don't have any excuses for you guys, I spent most of my time with my girlfriend and the other half working so I am a little tired. Hope you guys enjoy

Chapter 18: The Rampage

Volume 2 Chapter 5

The ground shook and the air seemed to have gotten thinner as it got harder to breathe, all wildlife seemed to have run away from the immediate area.

I raised my right hand up to my face as if to shield myself from the pressure of the roar and looked around trembling, Shiro had collapsed onto his knees and looked towards the ground, as if his willpower was stolen away, Brooke was shaking with a terrified expression on her face and couldn't look away from the Rhinoceros like beast, and Dia had stopped drinking and dropped her bottle... funny it only took a ridiculously terrifying monster to make her stop drinking.

The bright sun tried desperately to shine its light where we currently were, however the forest was really thick and didn't permit much light to seep through, the shade also provided a bit of a draft... a humid draft.

The sweat I had created from being trapped in this serious situation had left most of my body sweaty, I can only assume everyone else here is sweating as much as I am... my sweat raced down my forehead and into my eyes as if it was trying to blind me further because having blurry vision wasn't enough.

As I stood there staring at the beast, this Rhinoceros had to be at least 7 meters or 20 feet long, its tentacles were maybe 3 meters long, its tail with the long spikes that had a yellow streak following the spine going down the middle of the tail was at least 4 meters long and I noticed blue energy start to seep out from behind its back.

After about 3 seconds of the Rhinos roar, the Rhinoceros had a thick blue aura wrap around its entire body, it also pulsated violently. The four tentacles on its back had started to move It was apparent that this would be a tough battle, as this rhinoceros looked very strong. By now a minute had passed.

I used my soul corruption and dashed directly at the rhinoceros coated in a blue aura but as I came closer to it, I felt pain as if I was getting hotter, the closer I got the hotter it became. As I came into contact with the Blue aura the burn became so strong I felt as if I was being roasted with the fires of hell, after about 2 seconds I became unable to withstand the pain any longer and I did whatever I could to get away from the blue aura. In my failure, I flew back to my body to think of a way to remove the blue aura so I could see if my soul corruption would work if the aura was gone, when I stood I wobbled as I felt lightheaded.

After I had run into the blue aura of the Rhinoceros in my soul form, the Rhinoceros shook its head as if trying to clear its head and focus, it then sneered and charged at us, however it was staring straight at me.

I backed away stumbling at a pace that looked like I was standing still compared to the rushing Rhino, Shiro ran to the right along with Dia and Brooke separated to the left.

I quickly looked towards Brooke and signaled her to use her fire and then I looked towards Shiro who had a determined look and was sitting on the ground far to the right of me, and then to Dia who had begun applying a blue aura to her dagger, and then back at the charging Rhinoceros.

We were originally close to 6 meters apart but less than 5 meters now

The Rhinoceros was closing in fast as it charged at me in its tunnel vision state.

The beast either didn't notice or care about anyone else besides me as Brooke made her fireball that was around the size of a 6 foot ball and at least 5 feet wide.

Dia giving her daggers a blue aura, all I can see is a blue glow coming from Dia's direction.

Shiro was still sitting in a meditation stance as the beast is close to 3 meters of us.

When the beast was within 2 meters of me, Brooke reacted and shot her fireball and it approached the Rhinoceros fast from its right, and something was also heading at it fast from its left.

A glowing blue object headed towards the rushing beast fast, it tore through the air leaving a small trail of its flight path.

Cracking was heard above the Rhinoceros and then light shined through the once darkened forest, following the light a giant blade fell through the hole towards the Rhino's head.

Seeing as most of us had become used to the shade and the darkness that came with it, we were all blinded by the light that suddenly assaulted our eyes.

Before the big fireball, blue aura dagger, and giant blade could reach their target.

The Rhinoceros had come out of its tunnel vision and saw the fireball and dagger heading towards it, and knew something was above its head due to the sound and light from above, but didn't know it was a giant blade.

The Rhinoceros was the only one that wasn't blinded as it didn't look directly towards the light.

From my perspective I thought it would change the direction it was charging from, however to my surprise it kept on its course.

{GRrrrrrrrawwwwwwwwwwwwrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr}

The dagger, fireball, and blade were within seconds of contact when the Rhinoceros roared again this time its sky blue colored aura expanded violently and came in contact with the fireball, dagger coated in a blue aura, and giant blade and disintegrated them all.

The fireball, dagger, and blade had been completely vanquished, the blue aura that once wrapped itself around the Rhinoceros was gone but our attacks were shrugged off so easily.

I immediately took this opportunity to use my soul corruption to end this fight with this beast, it had only been 3 minutes and I was dead tired whereas Brooke, Shiro, and Dia looked a bit tired but were fine otherwise.

"That was my favorite dagger... Shit my throats getting dry." Dia said frowning and rummaging through her bag

I left my body and embarked on a short quest as I flew towards the beast that was only a meter away from me and still moving towards me, right as I was seconds away from coming in contact with it, it roared again

{GRrrrrrrrrrrrawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr}

"Argggggghhhhhhh" I screamed as I had run into the sky blue colored aura and felt as if I was being scorched by the fires of hell.

I was deflected away from the charging Rhino and it had charged past me in my soul form and towards my real body so in a way it was a race back to my body before the giant charging death machine could get to my body.

I was faster than the Rhinoceros in soul form however I couldn't go in a straight line back to my body as this sky blue torch next to me burned me as I got close to it.

I panicked and moved alongside the beast so I could get to my body faster, seeing as if it did beat me to my body I would most likely die.

I endured the burn and it felt as if I was taking a shower in scorching hot water, I endured the pain because the alternative of getting to my body second was death so I went along with the pain for now.

I took the lead and was closing in on my body while the Rhinoceros was right behind me, I was slowly gaining distance on the Rhino however it soon came to my attention that it was because Brooke was firing her icicles at it.

However it seemed rather useless as the icicles would deteriorate before they reached the Rhino anyways, Brooke began firing her icicles in front of the rushing Rhino to try and make it slip.

This also failed as the ice in its path disappeared as it came in contact with the sky blue aura, however a small puddle was left in its path but the Rhino either stepped in the puddle and kept going or just stepped over the puddle, so to cut the story short, her attacks did nothing.

Shiro's blades didn't really do anything either as they disintegrated as they hit the sky blue aura, the daggers from Dia didn't disintegrate as fast as they were coated with the same sky blue aura however they disintegrated all the same.

Two thoughts ran through my mind 'why is this Rhinoceros so focused on me' and 'how many daggers does Dia have in her bag' ran through my head but as it wasn't as important as getting to my body so I quickly let it go.

Finally making it to my body I quickly stood and ran to my right, the Rhino never took its eyes off me and kept charging towards me, it must be mad because I was the first to attack it.

It was right behind me in soul form so the second I got into my body and stumbled to my right, the Rhinoceros charged past me destroying several trees as it came to a stop and turned around.

The Rhinoceros had begun staring at me again in its stopped state and Its three horns on its head had begun glowing yellow, the yellow aura from its horns had begun to mix with its blue aura that wrapped its body and its aura had changed to a bright green color.

{GRrrrrrrrrrrrawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr}

It roared at me and part of its green aura had separated from its body and took the form of small greenish blue Rhinos about the size of a meter tall and half a meter wide.

There were 5 Greenish blue Rhinos that appeared from the new green aura of the Big Rhinoceros, these Rhinos targeted me like heat seeking projectiles, they all scattered one went about 15 feet to the left and rested there, one went up 5 feet and then 5 feet to the left, another went 15 feet to the right, the fourth went up 5 feet and then to the right and the last one went straight up 10 feet and rested there.

All 5 had rested in a formation that surrounded me from the sides and front and I had begun to panic.

Brooke fired electricity and icicles at the small green Rhinos however the magic died as it collided with the rhinos, and Dia had thrown more mana coated daggers however they didnt even last a second against this new green aura.

'Which one is going to fly down first, or are they all going to fly down at the same time, will they attack with the real Rhinoceros?' I had begun thinking to myself of how they were going to attack me

When I started to back away the small green Rhinos to the far left and right of me moved past me, continued for 10 feet turned around and looked towards me. The small Rhinos above me moved a couple feet forward and stopped while looking towards me.

'Shit, now I'm completely surrounded with 3 Rhinos in front of me and 2 Rhinos behind me.' I thought while looking around me

"Everyone run, I will find a way to escape on my own. If we stay here together we will all die!" I commanded the rest of my group to retreat.

As if the Rhinoceros heard me, it roared and 3 of the green Rhinos flew towards Dia, Shiro, and Brooke.

With the speed the Small green Rhinos moved Dia and Brooke didn't have much time to cast spells but they both managed to cast a spell before the Rhinos collided with their targets.

Boooooooooooom.

Boooooooooom.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

"Medic Heal! Medic Heal!" Dia said two times as bright light began to grow from the places where Brooke and Shiro were.

I looked towards the directions that the small green Rhinos had charged in and saw bright light and smoke rising from Brookes and Shiro's locations.

They had both been knocked unconscious from the explosions that the green Rhinos caused.

Brooke was laying beside a broken tree twitching, and Shiro was lying behind a broken shield that started disappearing into nothingness a lot different from the way Shiro's blades disappeared. I assumed Brooke summoned it as Dia who was fine had a shield that had a completely different design on it.

"Well I think I will take your advice and run from this unwinnable fight, see you around Gabriel... or not." Dia said as she turned her back towards me

"Wait take Shiro with you!" I yelled to her before she could begin running

"I am almost out of mana, as I have casted a lot of heals and charged a lot of daggers with mana, I only have enough mana to use my shield one more time and as there are 2 green Rhinos left I feel the risk is too high, I hope the kid survives..." Dia said with a frown and turned her back towards me and ran from the forest back towards the village

"Tch" I clicked my tongue and looked at the 2 green Rhinos and the Big Rhinoceros behind them.

"Well thanks for knocking everyone unconscious now I can show my full power now!" I shouted at the big Rhinoceros in a confident tone

I stepped towards the Rhinoceros and a giant fireball sped past me and disappeared as it collided with the Light green aura, I looked up and saw one of the green Rhinos look towards her and charge at her.

"Wrong decision beast!" I shouted and pointed my left hand towards the Rhinoceros

I signaled 'I C E' on my right hand over and over again hoping Brooke would notice. I hoped my bluff would make the green Rhino that charged at Brooke turn around and focus on me.

I ran towards the beast and the green Rhino that was above my head came crashing down but I jumped forward so the explosion would blow me towards the Big Rhinoceros, I tucked and rolled to keep the momentum of the pace I had before the Rhino exploded.

That explosion caused a lot of smoke to appear and made it impossible for Brooke to aim her icicles, however she knew that I asked for icicles and she felt pressured into firing them... however I didn't tell her when so she decided to aim high and fire at a continuous pace into the smoke until she was out of mana.

Whooooooosh

I looked over my shoulder and saw the other green Rhino behind me closing in fast and an icicle heading in my general direction, the big Rhino was close to 10 feet away, I used my momentum to slide on the ground and turn around so I could be pointing towards the green Rhino.

I dived underneath it as it flew towards me and flew right above me and into the Green aura of the big Rhino.

Whoooooooosh

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh

The green aura that enveloped the main Rhinoceros had disappeared and two Icicles had hit the Rhinoceros and it turned around fast and brandished its tail towards me and destroyed a number of trees and hit my arms as I tried to defend myself.

Whoooooosh

Another Icicle shot past me and towards the Rhinoceros

I was shot back along with the debris of the tree, like a rock thrown on the surface of a pond, I skid 4 or 5 times before hitting a tree and collapsing, my left arm, right leg, forehead, and stomach were covered in blood as I had cuts and pieces of debris sticking out of my stomach and arm.

Whooooooooosh

Another icicle had past me and entered the dust trail that had been created from the tail strike and I looked around with vision more blurry than normal, I probably have a concussion and then I noticed a woman's body laid out on the floor under a tree to my right.

Anastasia, Paul, and Ares point of view

"Come on guys we have to hurry, there have been a lot of loud sounds and small tremors coming from the area Gabriel's group should be at." Ares said while trying to speed up the groups pace.

"We can't keep moving at this pace Ares, what if we get caught in an ambush then we will need help." Paul said

"I don't care, I have a bad feeling about Gabriel." Ares said

They had been running for 5 minutes straight and came acrossed 12 snakes, and 4 centipedes, they sped past 4 snakes and killed 8 of them.

As they were in a rush Paul killed 5, he killed three of them by cutting them in half and the other two crushing them with his bare hands, Anastasia killed 2 swiftly with throwing daggers she purchased from the weapons merchant and Ares killed one by stabbing it while it tried to slither away, the fight took less than a minute and they continued moving towards Gabriel's location as they fought.

They killed all 4 centipedes, Paul killed 2 by using his singularity twice, once for each centipede.

The centipede was crumpled up by the force of the gravity and then blown apart from the explosion and Anastasia killed 2 by using her shadow master to appear in the trees above the centipedes and jumped down and used this force of gravity to penetrate the hard shells of their heads.

After 10 minutes they were really close and the tremors increased, they were about five minutes away when they heard a giant smash and headed towards the sound.

After that loud bang not another sound was heard from the direction, they approached fast as they feared for the worst.

After about a minute of constant jogging through trees and bushes they happened upon an area that looked like a beast had rampaged through it, some trees were scorched, most trees had a look as if they were melted, and there were puddles of water on the floor and a pathway of complete carnage that stretch as far as the eye can see.

"Geez what do you think happened here" Anastasia said while looking in both directions, and then looked in the direction that the last sound came from

At the end of the carnage was a place where trees had been broken and to the far right lay a giant beasts body that looked like it had been pushed back with several icicles sticking out of its chest, and an icicle in its tail.

Anastasia, Ares, and Paul began looking around and discovered Brooke with a part of a tree collapsed on her, Myself leaning on a tree not too far away from Brooke with a piece of bark in my stomach and arm.

"I found Brooke and Gabriel, Anastasia bring me the potions we bought!" Paul shouted at Anastasia as he picked the tree up and tossed it to the side, Brooke had a blood stain coming from her waist, and her left leg was in bad condition.

"Oh shit Gabriel and Brooke are in really bad condition, Ares look for Dia in case the potions don't fully heal them!" Anastasia shouted at Ares as she forced Brooke and myself to drink the potions after removing the pieces of debris from us.

"I found Shiro he is okay! But I can't find Dia!" Ares shouted back at us.
