end of Volume 1 (Sorry I was busy and didn't make the statement I said in the last chapter true)

Ch 13 Survival of the fittest

After killing the Drake a minute has passed and the Creature with brown fur and 4 arms is just staring at us, we moved 2 steps backwards and it moved 2 steps forward.

We stopped and asked Lucielle if we were going to get out of this one alright. (Shiro and Ares waited with the women at the entrance of the cave)

"Do you know what that is Lucielle?" I asked hoping he would know

"Yeah it's a Vitas-Moria, chances are we are all gonna die..." He said with a grim look on his face

"So why is it just standing there looking at us and not ripping us apart?" I asked

"It wants to scare us, then when we give in and try and run it will chase us down rip our legs off and watch us crawl, after we have the look of true terror it will kill us, they are possible to avoid as they mark their territory." Lucielle said with a frightened tone

"The claws?" I asked scared and worried

"No they will have at least 16 puncture marks high above wherever it is they hunt, I didn't think they had territories in caves so I never thought of checking the ceiling."

Brooke increases the fire to illuminate the whole cave, on the ceiling were hundreds of punctures as it had been walking around up there...

"Shit ok guys chances are it can kill us all, so we are going to need every level we can get, everyone take a knee, place mana into the ground to make your status window's spawn and tell it to level you up." I gave them the order as I figured if we all moved at once the Vitas-Moria wouldn't attack us

It watched as all of us kneeled and slowly turned its head.

"ok so on the count of 3 we run as fast as we can" I say in a calm tone

1...2...3!

We turn around and start running and immediately we hear Bang, Bang, Bang... and nothing more so I turned around and the Vitas-Moria was gone and when I turned around BOOOOOOOM!

A giant stood in front of us with its menacing size and the rest of us with awestruck faces filled with terror knowing we can't outrun this thing.

"Brooke toast it!" I looked at her signaled her and said it to her so she could read my lips

It took Brooke less than a second to fire off 3 Fireballs but she used both hands, the fireballs flew and kuh! exploded on impact into a ball of fire enveloping the beast in an orange and yellow blanket it screamed before shaking the flames off, just a tiny coat of singe on its brown fur and extending its arm to Brooke I left my body hoping it was extremely stupid as it appeared extremely strong, The second my soul touched its body I was repelled and felt like my head was going to split open from the immense pressure it gave off.

"Shit everyone we need to retreat deeper into the cave as we won't be able to get past it here" I said with a quick tone and signaled Brooke to increase her fire but get further away so she could assist us in escaping.

Brooke runs away from us deeper into the cave but let her flames burn brightly so we have light to see, Luceille and Paul try and hold it down even for 10 seconds so we can get further away.

Luceille has a hard time dodging but strikes at it with his blade, cutting into whatever he could reach but mostly its legs, it tries to slash him as he is dancing around it.

It swings down and causes a shockwave that makes Paul lose his balance however Luceille jumped right when the Vitas hit the ground so he was unaffected, he also cleaved off two of the monsters fingers when it had thrust its fingers into the ground, it screamed and made a loud deafening roar.

Luceille was shook by the roar and fell to one knee as his vision shook with how loud the roar was, the roar continued for seconds as the walls in the cave carried the echo, he got back on his feet but had balance issues as his left ear was bleeding, he jumped in between its feet and cut into its left ankle but wasnt strong enough to cut through it as well as get his sword free.

The Vitas-Moria had sat on its butt almost crushing Luceille but made it impossible to retrieve his blade. He jumped back and tried to distance himself from himself before it started slamming the ground hoping it would smash him.

Its hand landed right next to him causing him to lose balance but managed to stay on his feet, he ran to us and we began running away, Paul was right next to us as he ran while Lucielle attacked it.

The beast pulled the small blade out of its leg before giving chase, it took the beast 20 seconds to catch up and by that time we had already gotten to a part of the cave that lead in 3 directions, 2 of the directions had a little bit of light coming through from small holes in the ceiling.

(Tunnel farthest from the left will be called A tunnel, Tunnel in the middle will be called B tunnel and The last one will be called C tunnel)

The Beast arrived right then while we were standing between A and B tunnel, Brooke, Myself, and Anastasia were in front of B tunnel and Lucielle and Paul were standing in front of A tunnel so we made an attempt to get Lucielle and Paul to us.

Brooke fired both Icicles and lightning at the beast which she shot from each hand, the Icicles were heading straight for the Vitas-Moria's chest when it raised its hand, "Rrrrrrrrrr" it grumbles as a tiny bit of blood emerged from its palm and forearm.

It swung its closed fist towards her and would have hit her too if I hadn't put my arms around her waist and jumped back.

{Bam} a tiny chunk from the wall that separated tunnels B and C had shot away with great speed and crashed into the end of the C tunnel with a great impact as the sound was really loud.

Paul had given his blade to Luceille and punched the Vitas Moria's smallest toe on its right foot as hard as he did this Luceille went after the foot he first attacked and pierced it again this time because of his previous cut he made the cut ridiculously bigger and managed to cut a tendon.

Meanwhile Anastasia used her shadow master ability to appear behind the Vitas-Moria she was able to climb up its back in less than 3 seconds without it noticing and she jumped and grabbed its ear and when the ear folded and she fell directly in front of its face she stabbed her sword into its right eye and it screamed incredibly loud.

With its left hand it reached up at her to grab her but she used its face for momentum as she kicked off its face to fly deeper into Cave A however with its new vision it underestimated the depth and missed her by a couple feet.

With its right hand it swung with great speed and hit Paul who tried to defend himself with his arms which didn't help much as he flew off his feet and straight into the wall that connects tunnels A and B, Paul survived the attack but had went through the wall bleeding all over his back and a piece of the stone had cut a deep gash in his right leg, he looked at his right arm and it was bent the wrong way.

"Shit my right arm, Anastasia can you help me later when I am feeling down?" He said with a pained expression and tone as he laughed

"Did you lose your arm you idiot, better start practicing with you... No Luceille!" She tried taunting him but stopped talking when the Vitas-Mori had grabbed Luceille and he had dropped his sword

( Brooke was still creating light so they could fight)

She used her shadow master skill again and quickly climbed it from behind trying to take its eye sight from its other eye however the Vitas-Moria knew this time and waited for its ear to be grabbed and when Anastasia grabbed its ear it reached up with one of its right hands and caught her before she could slash and so the Vitas-Moria had her in one of its right hands and Lucielle in one of its left hands.

Anastasia used her shadow master skill one more time and appeared on its ear as there was a shadow their now because one of the Vitas-Moria's right hands had projected a shadow there, she jumped off the ear towards cave B and turned her body as she threw her sword aimed at its eye but it moved its head down and the blade had seriously penetrated the area just above the Eyebrow of the beast and a shadow had been created that floated right over its left eye.

I looked at Anastasia and knew what she was going to do, I looked towards the ceiling and found a cliff high up in the tunnel that separated the A and B tunnels.

I would rather have Paul, Luceille or Anastasia climbing as they are more physically fit, however as Paul has a broken arm, Luceille is captured and Anastasia is preparing for what's to come I guess that leaves me and Brooke and I feel that makes me the best candidate for this suicide job and I'm not completely fucked as my strength and agility are 55.

I use my strength to jump about 4 feet to get a better start and smash my hand into the wall of the tunnel and climb as fast as I can, somewhere between the second and third minute I heard luceilles name called and it gave me a bad feeling, it only took me 3 minutes so not too long.

Anastasia's perspective

Ok so I need to wait for Gabriel to get to the top of the cliff as he said would be the only way for us to stop that thing, I really hope he knows what he's doing. he's in the beast's blind spot so it won't see him climbing but still what the hell is he thinking, how will climbing 16 feet help at all he is still weak.

"Just give me a second and I will be good to go." Paul said with a smile on his face that had lost hope.

The Vitas-Moria looking at all of us and then it looked at Luceille and a minute later it began slowly crushing him listening to him waiting for him to writhe in pain, it took 30 seconds of slowly crushing before he started making painful expressions and moaning in pain.

Brooke couldn't take the look so she started casting small fireballs and lucielle was moved into the trajectory of 1 of the small fireballs and two had gotten through as this beast hadn't gotten used to only having one eye, it laughed as its fur slowly burned but stopped a couple seconds later, Luceille on the other hand had suffered greatly by the fireball, his face and hair had singe marks and his eye brows had been burned off.

by now 2 minutes passed and

Luceille was still being crushed and even began coughing up blood arghhhhhh

He screamed in pain as Anastasia lost her cool and so did Brooke as she channeled electricity through her left hand and used it to shock the Vitas-Moria hoping it would drop Luceille however all it did was laugh while being shocked while Luceille had been shocked and had lost consciousness.

The Vitas-Moria had begun shaking Luceille to wake him up and about 10 seconds later he did, and his torture began again for 20 more seconds when he managed to loosen the grip by a tiny bit and got both of his arms around a finger and squeezed as hard as he could before crushing the finger all the way through and it crushed him tighter while he did this, after the finger had been ripped off it had an angry look and through him to the ground and then stomped on him twice.

"NOOOOOOOO LUCEILLE!" Anastasia and Paul shouted

It then picked him up by his foot and he was still breathing so it grabbed his upper body and lower body as it ripped him in half and his entrails spilled out.

Anastasia, Brooke, and Paul had a broken expression and Brooke had fired off close to 15 icicles, when she had stopped shooting icicles she spoke her first words since birth

"HOWB DAWE YUU DUA TWAF TU RI FWEND"(How dare you do that to my friends) She shouted

her voice carried as it shook and echoed in this tiny space, my ears hurt a whole lot more than when the Vitas-Moria roared, I can only imagine how much pain everyone down there must be in.

Since the sound wave was aimed at the Vitas-Moria it recieved most of the damage however since it echoed her words carried and affect all of us, the Vitas-Moria definitely took the brunt force though as it lost its balance and crashed fact first into the wall on its left and the blade in its forehead had been pushed further in.

it was bleeding all over the place because of the icicles and now its ears were bleeding as well.

3 minutes had passed.

I was at the top of the cliff and looked down at Anastasia and when she looked up at me I gave her a nod

As soon as I nodded I counted to 3 and ran to the edge of the cliff and dived feet first hoping it would stay in its position, by the time I got to the edge Anastasia had run to pick up Paul's sword she grabbed it and disappeared and reappeared right in front of the Vitas-Moria's face hanging from the blade in its forehead, the same blade it left hanging in its forehead to taunt the enemy that failed.

With one quick stab she delivered paul's blade into the eye and left it there. When she jumped off she was worried it would get lucky and blindly grab her however she arrived safely on the floor.

"Where's my sword? I liked that sword?" Paul said sadly

The group begun backing up and watched as it screamed into the air and began placing its hands over its eyes and while watching it scream they see, me go straight into its opened mouth and the rest of the group thought so he's going to kill it from the inside? except for Brooke who thought he failed his plan and accidentally fell into its mouth.

"UWAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" Brooke screamed at the beast and again it tumbled and fell except this time it was towards Anastasia and the rest of the group and started flailing its arm hoping to hit any of its enemies however they had all backed up however with Brooke's most recent attack the sound had echoed loudly inside the Vitas-Moria and I lost consciousness as my body couldn't take the damage.

The group had begun running further into cave B and found a crevice in the wall, they felt it was safer than being out in the open and 20 seconds had passed since Brooke attacked the Vitas-Moria, and I had awoken.

I used the blade I had to stab the insides of the Vitas-Moria whenever I could and I fell out of its throat into its stomach with the gastric acid burning all the objects and things it ate right before our fight began.

I landed on what seemed like a Giant Rat demon and jumped to a pile of food that hadn't been digested yet right next to a part where the kidney is closest to and as it is on either side I put my ear to the wall and listened for a heartbeat as that would indicate the direction of the heart and which direction I should go to get to the kidneys and Liver.

I cut open the stomach and jumped out and grabbed what seemed to be the intestines, they weren't important so I cut them as I climbed them, knowing they would lead around the kidneys and liver I followed them and cut anything that looked special and well I cut things that didn't look special.

After I poked holes into its kidney I poked more holes and noticed as the heartbeat was slowing, I traveled along whatever path I could find or make and cut everything I could find and reach, after 2 minutes the heartbeat had slowed tremendously and I cut my way out of its body as fast as I could as there was less oxygen in the body as before and even less coming in as it wasn't taking in deep breaths anymore, once I reached the outer layer I stabbed the final layer as hard as I could and when I pulled the blade out, and there was now fresh air, I cut the hole that I made for air larger and squeezed my body out.

"Hey guys where are you, the beast is dead!" I shouted

As there was no reply I was scared that none of my teammates made it I heard a thumping, I turned around and feared that the beast had come back to life however as it didn't move I came to the realization it died in front of a cave of some sort and trapped them inside.

and so after 20 minutes of me pulling the giants body and Brooke shooting icicles into the body making holes into so they could escape and after 20 minutes the body was moved for enough room for them to get out.

When they left the cave that the Vitas-Moria had been blocking we all walked past its face and it was apparently dead but its teeth were all shattered and it was in the form of a circle.

"Its teeth are broken, how did that happen Gabriel?" Anastasia asks me

"Im not sure I came out of the side of its stomach, its possible it fell into the wall and chipped its teeth or something. " I said

They carried a woman missing an arm and two children walked out of the crevice in the wall, and we headed to the entrance, everyone walked on the other side of the tunnel as me except for Brooke who stood in the middle, I guess its cause I was covered in blood and guts.

I carried the upper body of Lucreille and gave him a proper burial outside the cave.

Looks like I will be taking a couple days off from posting as my Girlfriend says I have been neglecting her and said she wanted some real together time so it looks like I will post sometime before Wednesday
