I snuck back to the city, I met the healer on his way out.

"I don’t know what you have been up to, but I am off. Elisa is all healed up and she is resting.”

“Thank you”

“Take care”

He disappeared through the fog and I went inside.

It was quiet, Elisa was sleeping, I sat down next to her, and before I knew it I fell asleep.

My sleep was cut short.

“Sky, wake up, there is some guards here that wants to speak with us.”

I got out of the chair I fell asleep in and dropped the blanket. Elisa was still sleeping, Odin, cortez and I headed outside, several guards was waiting for us.

The guard in the middle had a scroll, he started reading from it.

“After your performances you have all been added to a group to kill a rare monster, head over to the main gate within one hour for more information. That is all”

“Wait what? I have not agreed to this”

“I am simply here to inform you, the higher ups have already decided for you, any issues or problems, take it up with them, good bye.”

They left.

“Isn’t a rare monster really dangerous? “ Cortez seemed nervous.

“There have been many deaths attempting to fight it, but now they know how to deal with him, they know how his abilities and phases works”

“ I thought the winner of the arena was the only that would be able to join, didn’t you tell me that, Odin?”

“That is the usual requirement yes, something seems off this time”

“These rare monsters, how does the drop system works?”

“Usually there is a team of 8 players, 1 of each class or sometimes subclass, the boss can drop 3-4 items and spawns once every day, the items are always class only, therefor there is never any arguments of who gets what. An elementalist cannot wield assassin daggers.”

“Wouldn’t it be worth fighting the boss if we could get hands on some of these weapons? It would give us the upper hand in this level and probably the levels to come.”

“That is true, but what about the risk?”

“As Odin said, if they already know what to do we shouldn’t worry too much, they probably already have some experience.”

“That true, I am inn!” Cortez was convinced.

“So am i! I want to become stronger!” Odin joined as well.

“Then it’s settled, we meet up at the gate and see what the deal is”

We figured it was best for Elisa to get some sleep, we told Odins mother and sister what was going on, after that we headed to the gate, everyone was already there it seemed.

“Ahh, nice, our last teammates showed up, I will explain the tactics under the way, any questions?”

The guy talking had some wierd eye piece.

Everyone just looked at each other, we probably had questions but no one dared to ask, I didn’t really have any questions either, just want this over with, I can’t get away from this one either if I was requested by the higher ups and on the plus side I might get a gear piece, but I am worried for Odin and Cortez, one mistake can be fatal especially against a rare monster.

I could see the healer that healed Elisa was also a part of the group.

We all got horses and we started riding out of the city and through the big huge field.

“Now that we are all here I can introduce myself, my name is Enmy, I have been the leader of this boss fight since nearly the beginning, if it’s one thing I have learned it is that if you can’t work at as a team as well as take care of yourself you will put the whole group at risk.”

“So how do we fight this Monster?”

“What does the boss look like?”

Now the questions came rolling in.

We road through a wintery forest.

“The boss is a big ice dragon, there is two phases, the first phase is the easiest one if you all do as I say. First the tank will tank his regular basic attacks from his claws, while the off tank is tanking his mouth bites, the rest of the group will damage his tail legs and torso, during the first phase he will use Ice breath and wind gust, both of these are very lethal.”

Everyone seemed really serious and consentrated.

“The wind gust will knock you right off your feet and you will get separated from the group, it is important to know that when the fight starts the battle will be covered inside a huge sphere with blizzard zone around us, therefore there is no escape and if u get knocked back, u might get thrown into the blizzard and that is the end of you. That is why we have our Tank and Off tank connects their huge ass shields together to create a wall that will tank the wind, after that it is back to the basics”

Several gulps

“The next ability is ice breath, the off tank will start running as he got the dragon’s aggro, the breath will leave an ice trail that we cannot step on unless we want to slip, if we don’t finish the boss quick enough the whole battleground will be filled with ice and then it is imposable to fight. So don’t stand in the off tanks way when he is running, we can also try to tank the dragon over his own ice trail to make him slip then we will deal 50% more damage for the short duration he is down.”

Cortez seemed nervous as he wiped sweat off his forehead.

“Phase two is the real danger, after a loud roar to signal the beginning of phase 2 he will start flying and breathing ice everywhere, so be careful not to get hit or slip! After that he will stoop underground and start chasing a random member and he will not stop until he is directly under you, you can see the ground tremble in front of you as he chases people, once he is under you just jump away as he tries to eat you, after he does that 2 times he will go back to the same as phase 1, but after a short while he will go airborne again, this will happen until he is dead, just don’t get eaten!”

The trees cleared up and we could see a huge ice dragon on a big open field in front of us!
