《Sage Of An Era》Chapter 26

The brewing excitement created by the reveal of the grey boots produced an explosive uproar.
Within a few moments the commotion quietened down but with the excitement still there George proceeded to profit from it: “Its name is Lucid Wings; it allows the user to fly at speeds 50% faster than that of when moving on the ground.”
Just the specification made many gasps, the ability to move 50% faster than they already could plus giving the individual the ability to fly. What man did not want to be free in the skies with no shackles or fear?
“The value of this Sage Equip is worth multiple times more than any other enhancement Sage Equip because it fulfils the desire to fly.”
“Just with that capability alone you can all understand what can be done and will be able to expect the price.”
“The price will start at 1,000,000 gold coins each bid must be at least 100,000 gold coins” George exclaimed to the animated audience.
Instantly the audience silenced as though they were doused with cold water at the revelation. It became obvious to many that being able to afford it was a pipe dream to those in the main audience.
“1,500,000 gold coins!” A man in one of the balcony rooms made a bid.
“1,600,000 gold coins!”Instantly another individual placed his bid.
At the same time, the blonde haired man's eyes lit up brightly.
Lightly chuckling he said to Reid: “It seems the rumours were true, this must be ours.”
“Yes, Master.”
Within the highest balcony room, Ryan was sitting silently confused.
“A Sage Equip is not like a weapon, they’re similar to armour, yet they grant enhancements to your physical abilities, that is what you wanted to know right?” Richard explained already knowing that the boy didn’t understand this new terminology.
Ryan nodded a small chuckle coming out of him.
“2,000,000 gold coins!” A voice came from somewhere within the hall as they were speaking.
“There’s a lot that you don’t know about this world, in between your battles in the Coliseum I’ll need to educate you on this continent.”

For the next minute the price was slowly increasing, but for those that couldn’t afford it were awed by the amount of wealth present within the hall
“Slowly increasing its price? How tiresome,” The blonde haired man then shouted: “9,000,000 gold coins!”
“….”
Silence filled the hall as all eyes turned towards the origin of the voice.
An increase of nearly 5,000,000 gold coins was shocking, up till then the price would increase by 200,000 at most, the gap between that was unbelievable.
At that moment the blonde haired man watched George on stage indifferently waiting for him to count.
“Er..”
“10,000,000!” Just as George was beginning the count, the silence was broken by one man’s voice; the blonde haired man frowned as he looked at the figure that had just made the bid. This figure was wearing a long blue robe; on his face was a smirk as he leaned against the balcony.
“Haha, Yura it seems we’re both interested in the Sage Equip!” The man laughed, his words immediately allowed many to figure out who the blonde haired man was.
“He’s Gold Ancestor Yura?!“The appearance of the man caused a disturbance in the auction hall, at that moment many came to the conclusion that the battle for the Sage Equip would most likely come to a battle between those two.
“Francis, those people, who are they?” within their room Richard inquired.
Francis who had been standing behind Richard from the start of the auction answered: “Elder, the blonde haired man is a famous Sage Ancestor, the Gold Ancestor Yura, his name derives from his Sage weapon, a golden spear, and with it he has dominated all adversities until he reached to his current stature. Outside the kingdom, his clan rules a Dukedom and as a Sage Ancestor he has little worry for enemies attacking his dukedom.”
“That other man is one of the Five Pillars of the Reinhart kingdom, the Third pillar General Cena.”
“Four of the Five Pillars are Sage Ancestor while the weakest is a Sage Master but he is the kingdoms genius.”
“General Soren is that Fifth pillar, however, his status is honorary; he has no responsibilities but has all the benefits of the position.”

“Okay… It seems that they both want those boots,” Richard commented.
“Elder if you want I can procure it for you.”
“No need I already have a pair and if I really needed one I would just make it,” he responded casually.
“…” Francis stood there silently not knowing exactly what to say, he couldn’t help but sigh in his heart a Legacy Elder was truly an extraordinary figure.
“But to individuals like them procuring a rare Sage Equip that would allow them to fly would be difficult unless they had a 3 Star Forge Master indebted to them or travel to the larger Empires to obtain one.”
“Anyway, what I find difficult to understand is why the Reinhart kingdom would allow a Single Duke to control land beside their very territory.”
“Elder just like our generals this Yura is a powerful expert of a more powerful empire and his Shinan Clan have deep roots within that empire,” Francis explained.
Richard nodded understanding the situation then carried on watching as the battle increased the price to astronomical figures.
“10,000,000” Yura uttered: “Cena you know that with just your wealth you will not be able to challenge me.”
At that moment Cena chuckled lightly raising the price: “12,000,000.”
“Even if I lose out I wouldn’t mind playing around with you for a bit,” He said in response.
“Very well,” The Gold Ancestor Yura stated an amount that silenced everyone including General Sena: “25,000,000 coins.”
Once again the hall was filled with silence, even Cena could only smile helplessly, although he wanted to play around with the Gold Ancestor a bit he did not realise that he would so ruthlessly raise the price.
To put this into perspective the average commoner family would make a few dozen gold coins every year, and this Yura had splurged an enormous amount on those boots that would at most be worth 15,000,000 gold coins.
“Haha” The silence was suddenly filled by laughter; it was especially loud in this explosive silence.
Many figures turned towards the balcony room at the highest level and many saw the figure standing at the edge of the balcony wearing a mask.
Gazing at Yura he smiled underneath his mask: “What a wonderful straightforward way to end this.” Richard exclaimed. “This auction was getting boring; an ending like this is satisfying, haha.”
After that Richard turned disappearing from the audience’s sight his laughter still echoing from his room.
Immediately many confused murmurs came from the audience below because Richard was wearing a mask it was impossible for them to know who he was. Yet the fact that he was in the highest floor revealed that he was a far more extraordinary figure than those currently battling out.
Cena within his booth frowned: “Was it not the Prince who occupied that room?… Go Investigate.”
A man that stood near him nodded and left the room.
---------------
After Richard sat back down, the Auction was nearing its end.
“Francis hand me your Conglomerate’s Card.”
Francis did not understand why but complied, handing Richard a gold card.
Taking the card, Richard placed his index finger on the card, a small number of silver specks appeared on the tip of his finger, proceeding to merge with the card.
After a few moments Richard handed back the gold card and on it was a small scythe. “The mark on it is my emblem, you’re allowed one request when you return to the Conglomerate headquarters; I hope you use it wisely.”
Richard eyed Ryan and they both left the room.
Chairman Francis stared at his Conglomerate card excitedly, although he had offended the Prince he had gained a favour from the Elder, Profit, this is a huge profit!
“Thank you, Elder!” He respectfully said as he waited for the Elder to leave before inspecting the card.
He then inspected the tiny silver scythe contrasting the gold card. At that moment realisation dawned on him, slowly the colour on his face drained as he looked back up towards the exit, but Richard was already gone.
“… That was the Particle Ancestor? That madman…”

Summoning America
Entirely cut off from Earth, the United States finds itself in a scientific impossibility: the entire country, including the continental landmass and separated states and territories, was transported to another world. Unlike Earth, this new planet boasts phenomena unknown to science. Magic reigns supreme in this new region of the universe, bolstered by the natives' own scientific progression. Monsters roam wastelands and dungeons, subsisting off unfortunate travelers, local fauna, and sometimes even entire towns! Ambassador Samuel Anders is tasked with contacting the various nations and entities of this new world. Despite his best attempts at diplomacy, the arrogance and hostility of the natives prove to be an unnavigable barrier. War is the only alternative. Eventually, fears surface regarding an ancient evil: the Ravernal Empire. How will the United States handle the threats of this new neighborhood? What magical wonders will its adventurous citizens find? This Summoning Japan inspired work will follow the United States as it is summoned to a New World. The story will begin with the United States’ initial encounter with the Rodenius continent. Although starting similarly to the original story, Summoning America will begin to diverge greatly as the war against the Lourian Kingdom comes to an end. For the context of this work, I expect that you have already familiarized yourself with the original piece, “Summoning Japan” also known as “Nihonkoku Shoukan”.

In The Maw Of The Gods
Synopsis Lilly Harper was always the type to keep to herself. She struggled to make friendships and so, she simply opted not to. That was why moving to the coastal town of Wilham didn’t bother her. She wasn’t leaving anybody behind and she certainly didn’t expect to be making any friends any time soon. However, when she starts hearing about the school’s “Magic Club”—a group of weirdos who claim that magic is real, she can’t deny that she’s slightly intrigued. Then without warning, she suddenly finds herself wrapped up with them. And what if they aren’t crazy? What if magic is actually real? And what if it’s because of that magic that something more powerful than they could ever conceive of is drawn to Wilham? I plan to follow a release schedule of Tuesday/Friday. Average chapter length will be 4,000 to 6,000 words and I will be using multiple POV's quite often. Also to note, while I am flagging the story with content warnings, I am only doing so because there are specific moments where it will be needed. Overall, the story will be relatively tame and I plan to put extra warnings at the beginning of chapters that it applies to. Thank you to everybody who decides to give my story a chance and I hope you enjoy it!
