《Sage Of An Era》Chapter 17

Silence filled the land, not a single sound besides Richards yawn could be heard, a sharp contrast to the situation.

Nearly two minutes had passed yet Oliver was still there on the ground, trying to process what had happened: A spear had formed in the air like tiny grains of sand coming together to form a structure and then holding so much force behind it to sever a Sage level beasts head from its body.

Oliver’s judgement had reasons behind it since humans had an advantage with weapons and their intelligence; the only advantage Beasts had were their overwhelmingly powerful bodies.

Is it possible that he’s a Sage Master or even possibly higher? I still can’t understand how that spear appeared out of nowhere, could it be his Sage Weapon? Countless thoughts circled his mind; he had never seen, read or heard of such an otherworldly Sage Weapon.

“Oliver!” While he was still in his thoughts he heard two simultaneous shouts, but before he could look up the two girls embraced him tightly.

Richards’s eyes widened slightly then squinted with a tinge of amusement: “Ooh quite popular are we?” His remark caused the two girls to blush, but with their faces being covered by a mask it was hard to see it, though they still released him only to reveal that he was blushing slightly.

“Youth is a beautiful sight,” Richard smirked not bothered by the fact that they had met no longer than a few seconds.

Suddenly a figure rushed out of the bushes nearby causing the trio to quickly put their guards up, except what came out was a young boy.

“Ah hello there,” Ryan smiled, his glinting pupils caused the two girls to fall into a captivated stupor, however, they quickly broke free from it quickly. “He didn’t do anything to you did he,” he pointed at Richard only to be glared back.

“I’ve already taken care of the problem, let’s go.”

Striding towards Ryan he abruptly stopped: “You can take the Stone Elephants body for yourselves, I don’t really need it.”

“Wait!” Oliver hurriedly called out; he stood up in their direction: “My name is Oliver from the Liones Academy when there comes a time I will pay back with my actions.”

Without saying anything in reply Richard held Ryan’s arm departing from the scene, what they did not see was the grin on his face.

“What a coincidence, Ryan we’ll be seeing him again sometime in the future.” He remarked while chuckling to himself.

Ryan turned to him and nodded not questioning it, aware that it was useless to do so.

“What are we going to do now then?”

“We’ll begin your martial arts and weapons training.”

Oliver got up from the ground and patted himself down, prior to glancing in the direction that Ryan and Richard left.

“That child was so cute and his eyes are truly mesmerising” Sara commented: “Do you think that they’re kinsfolk?”

“Why do you say that?” he asked.

“Their eyes and their features are similar don’t you think so?”

“Haha,” Oliver chuckled, he couldn’t help but smile slightly, for the first time in a long time catching the two off guard: “What are you two staring at? Call Sira and Andrew, we need to clean this place up and return to the Academy.”

When they left he finally breathed out, releasing an enormous amount of tension in his body and collapsed on the floor. Continually being between life and death was tremendously taxing on both his psychological and physical health.

Gazing at the sky he slowly grasped on who was behind the scheme, unknowingly his body naturally released an invisible ominous aura that kept people at a distance from him. Han, if you had only targeted me I would’ve repaid the favour, yet you brought bystanders in? I’ll make sure to break half the bones in your body and every single person that helped you!

This Han person was the focus of all his anger although what would be happening to him was all for Oliver to decide.

A while later his companions came back to see him quietly resting against a tree near the Stone Elephants corpse.

“Oliver did this?!” Andrew cried out, overwhelmed by the site of the battlefield.

Yeri couldn’t help but sigh, “Were you not paying attention to what Yeri was saying?” Sira rubbed his temples.

Feeling slightly awkward he looked closely at the corpse and the battleground.

“Don’t think too much Andrew; I was saved by a passing Sage.”

Hearing this he felt relieved that someone had saved him from an awkward situation, he then couldn’t help but ask: “How powerful do you think he was?”

“I couldn’t tell, he must at least be a Sage Master maybe even higher.”

“A passing Sage Master in this small kingdom, you were extremely lucky,” Sira interrupted.

He nodded in acknowledgement.

There was nothing but silence for a few seconds before Oliver started speaking once again: “I’m sorry for my cold behaviour towards you 4, I’m grateful for your company.”

Hearing this out of the blue startled the group, “Let’s collect our spoils and return to the academy, after all, we do need to return the favour to someone with interest, don’t you agree?”

The group all laughed before agreeing with him.

“Let’s get started then.”
