《Death Mark》Ch. 24: Rebirth and Sneak Attack

Inside the pillar of light Dante's body was being reconstructed from head to toe.
Even with Dante's Iron level mental state, he still couldn't endure that tearing pain, after screaming at the top of his lungs for a few minutes he passed out.
Dante's black hair turned light purple while his previously skinny body turned bulkier.
His light red skin became light gold while silver tattoos began spreading on his chest.
The tattoos depicted a Dragon and an Orc fighting together, but it seemed to be incomplete.
Another Orb began forming in the second orbit of the purple flaming skull.
This Orb was deep blue in color which seemed to contrast with the scarlet red Orb in the other orbit.
However that feeling of contrast slowly disappeared as the second Orb completely formed, the two Orbs now gave a feeling of wholeness.
The pillar of light slowly condensed into a cocoon with Dante at its center.
The energy nurtured his soul and attuned his body to the new bloodline abilities.
Slowly an aura of power began to spread from the cocoon.
It grew mightier and mightier until even the Giant Python and the three King level powerhouses felt a chill run down their spines.
All the Werebeasts in the forest had long since knelt down in direction of the cocoon as if they had met their emperor.
The Giant Python and the three King level powerhouses, sent by the old man, felt their blood slow down as the aura of power reached a peak.
"This commotion... Fenrir did you leave your Race Ability to him?
In the end you have found peace my old friend..."
The Giant Python sighed as he reminisced about his first meeting with his friend.
Right after it reached a peak, the aura of power disappeared.
It was a declaration, the glory of an entire race would show itself again in the future!
Howls rang in the jungle as the werebeasts welcomed the birth of their new Emperor.

Three days later Dante woke up in the cocoon.
"How long have I been out?
Dante didn't know how he ended up like this, the most urgent thing to do was to get out of the strange cocoon he was in.
With a ripping sound the cocoon revealed the naked body of Dante.
"My clothes were destroyed... At least I brought some in my spatial ring."
With a thought a spatial ring appeared in Dante's hands from the inner-world.
He quickly dressed himself as he began examining his body.
"What a complete transformation... It's almost as if I have experienced rebirth."
His body went through a massive change after the bloodline manifestation, he could feel boundless strength welling up inside his body.
"My eyes... I feel like the world has become clearer now.
This calmness... It's almost as if my soul has merged with the world."
Dante decided to test his new strength as soon as he could, but before that he decided to look around him.
"What the fuck!?"
The cave was far brighter than before and as Dante looked for the source of the light he was stunned.
The cave's ceiling had been blasted open by a terrifying force.
"Amazing!"
Dante knew that the pillar of light from before was something incredible but now he was even more sure of that.
To blast open two hundred meters of rock so easily...
What kind of force was required to do that?
Dante looked at the depths of the cave before bowing in direction of the Giant Python.
"Thanks, if Senior hadn't helped before this junior wouldn't have survived.
Junior will remember forever Senior's grace."
After a while Dante heard a mental message.
"Hahaha you're respectful of your elders, good, good.
Just watch over my descendant and it will count as repaying your debt."
Dante bowed deeply again before saying.
"I will take care of him."

The Giant Python was satisfied by Dante's response as it didn't say anything and returned to its slumber.
Dante got out of the cave and waited for the Giant Python's descendant to arrive.
"Mmm I should test my improvement after the breakthrough and see what kind of bloodline ability I manifested."
After searching for a bit he found a hill made of Black Iron which would serve the purpose.
"Soldier levels can cut boulders made of Black Iron with a punch.
Lieutenant levels can break a hill made of Black Iron.
Commander levels can pulverize hills.
General levels can vaporize hills."
Black Iron was a strange metal commonly found in nature which was used as a test for those under the King level.
A commoner wouldn't be able to cut it no matter how much effort he put into it.
Soldier levels would only be able to cut it into two halves as their strength would be dissipated quickly by the boulder.
Commander level could propagate their strength through the whole hill and pulverize it, but they wouldn't be able to do anything else.
General levels who had finally touched the realm of laws and began their research their own Dao could finally vaporize it.
"Let's see how much did I improve... From what I see I should have manifested a strength related bloodline ability which isn't too shabby."
Holding only a bit of expectations, Dante threw a punch with all of his power.
"BOOOOOOOM"
Dante's fist easily drilled through the hill made of Black Iron before it exploded loudly, Dante was thrown far away by the powerful explosion
He managed to stop himself only after destroying a dozen of trees.
Dante looked worriedly at his smoking right arm.
"I hope it didn't break..."
But as the smoke dissipated he only found a small injury which was healing at a visible rate.
"This is too overpowered an explosion like that only left me with a little injury... And what about this recovery rate?"
Even General level Monsters didn't heal at this rate.
"Could this be the effect of the Legacy of the Beastmen?
How could such a powerful race end up being destroyed if they had such overpowered abilities?"
However that question was quickly replaced by another, far more important, one.
"Wait, the Legacy of the Beastmen... The Beastmen race... No, this should be impossible!"
He still remembered Roxelane's words, it was only possible to manifest a bloodline ability from one of his Demon ancestors...
Then how did he manifest the bloodline ability of the Beastmen?
However he didn't have the opportunity to think about it as he sensed someone sneak attacking him.
Dante quickly jumped away as a shadow hit his previous position.
Dust rose in the air as the ground broke due to the sheer force of that blow.
"Impressive, had my reaction been slower and I would have been in a bad situation..."
Dante couldn't see his opponent due to the dust that had covered the place, but he still heard the arrogant words of the assailant.
"Good, as expected of someone recommended by the Patriarch! Let's see if you're qualified to have me follow you...
My name is Basil let's have a quick battle!"
After saying that a powerful aura made the dust cloud settle, Dante finally saw his opponent.
At Commander level Werebeasts could take human form and this Basil had already attained that level.
He was clad in animal pelts and looked like a wild barbarian.
His unkempt and long golden hair blew with the wind revealing his violet eyes.
"You really look like a savage..."
"Are you trying to make me lose my temper? Those cheap tricks don't work with me!"
Basil took out a greatsword as his muscles began expanding.
In less than 10 seconds his size had doubled.
"Let's begin."

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
