《When LitRPG Destroys Earth》Chapter 5

When the morning came... there was nothing. There were no parents to shout at them, no smell of freshly toasted bread, no checking the social media on their phone. And without nothing else to do, they started their morning by the long walk.
"...Nii-chan, I'm hungry." Said Yuzu as she was rubbing her belly, though lucky for her being a child, she didn't need to spend any unnecessary energy as she was being carried by her brother.
"And I'm thirsty." Said Ume as she was creating the tok tak sound with her wooden stick.
"...And I don't get a single sleep last night, just shut up and keep walking. We'll find the food on our way."
"Hmph, where do you get that confident? and where is our destination?!"
Albeit he didn't want to admit Ume's question, but yeah... Nashi hadn't had a single clue about their destination, but that wasn't his biggest concern.
The first was water and food, anything was fine, even just finding any seed for his Tree Fruit was fine. But yeah, maybe the karma for never finishing his mother food was striking him right now as no matter how much they walked, he didn't find a single seed.
Second, shelter and rest. Forgot about a camp or anything like that, just an abandoned car was fine, at the very least he could sleep without a slight peace of mind for having something to cover their surrounding.
Then Ume's feet, it had swollen and turned blue. With every step she took Nashi could hear her groan and her complaint and his hands, the wound wasn't a big one, just red skin without any blisters, still, the part where his skin was peeled made him worried about infection.
Last there were monsters. He thought it might be a good idea if Ume could help him in the future, but considering their condition right now, run and hide should be their focus.
And another problem arose, as Ume from out of nowhere began to sit down, shouted "That's it!! I have enough!!" as loud as she could as she threw the wooden stick.
At least Nashi was grateful they didn't meet any monsters on their way. At least not a strong one as every goblin and other monsters they met were running away. Thanks to Nashi frightening Lvl 1 and Intimidation Lvl 1. Though... he wondered what made her bruised and his burned hand different from the rest of his wounds.
The deep wound on his back, the cut wound on his leg, the wound on his head and the pain on his stomach were already gone. Leaving nothing but a scar that gradually disappeared. Though, as he couldn't make sense of what made them different, he decided to pursue this matter in the future.
As he watched the supposed sister that was older than Yuzu sulking on the ground, with a deep breath, he put Yuzu down on the street. "...Watch your sister, I'll go search for something to eat."
Like a robot getting the input command, she wildly nodded and wobbled her way to Ume. Faithfully stood on her sister side, full of spirit with a puffed face.

Looking at her, once again he felt relieved, she was strong. Even though she said she was hungry she didn't have that much of a complaint. "...Anyway, just take some rest or running on the spot while I am gone."
He wasn't that sure, but his Running III and Brawling II had been gradually increased to 10/60 and 29/40. The best deduction he could make was that by repeatedly doing those activities they could learn the Talent or the screen was nothing but a tool to help them saw their own talent.
In the end, Nashi left them all by themselves, scouting the area in front of them.
And in the dead of daylight, he met a column of goblins and dire rats, what was most interesting was they seemed to work together. Even though both were level 1, but the goblins seemed able to control the dire rats. "...Is there some sort of hierarchy between them?" He muttered as he watched the agitated goblins the distance.
Still... the dire rats somehow looked edible, and as Nashi walked to their range, the goblins muttered in their own language, seemingly hesitated whether or not they should attack him or running away.
Under the bright sun, Nashi abruptly kicked one of the goblins, throwing it for a few meters away. Thanks to the Intimidation, one glare was enough to paralyze their body in fear. Less than 20 seconds, Nashi's kick came at them like a truck, breaking their neck in a single kick, and those not dead by the first kick got obliterated by the series of his stomps.
Though, as his Technique Point or what they abbreviated as TP dropped to zero, the goblins gathered more tightly together, rushing towards him. With a grin, he raised a hand and started to use his fist towards the group, the sound of breaking bones, the screams, and apparently, the sound and the blood had finally made him grinned.
Strangely, the green little humanoid wasn't that strong compared to the dog-sized rat, and yet they were the one that ordered them around. And as one of the goblins barked something in its language, and the rest of the goblins turned and fled. Not for the Dire Rat though, as they still rushed toward Nashi, their eyes filled with bloodlust, they screeched at Nashi, fighting to the last bit of their life.
And his grin became wider, as Nashi recklessly breaking their neck and face, without caring for the damage they gave to him. With each biting wound, scratching wound and bruises on his body; the remaining Dire Rat slowly dropped to death.
After each one of them dropped to their own demise, Nashi was delighted to discover that a notification came to him.
Brawling is now rank III. +3 to Power and Defence.
Catching his breath up while he was carefully cleaning the blood from his hand, Nashi took a quick glance at his surrounding. There was no Class Card, but they did drop 12 Cubes, 3 Coins, 1 red glowing ball, and another Recipe, with him gaining 120 points from the massive amount of goblins and dire rats that he smashed.

Though... still feeling the tiredness in his body from the last battle, Nashi decided to settle back, slowly gathering all of the items, a corpse of dire rat and walked back to his siblings.

By the time he came back, a big grin plastered on his face when Ume finished inspecting the cubes. From 12 cubes, three that couldn't be inspected. But in the other nine, five of them contained weapons, two knives, one sword, one shield and one bow. Considering that Ume could use a bow, Nashi opened the one that contained the bow but... "...The hell, it doesn't give an arrow." but the disappointment was nothing compared to what they found on the other four cubes. The other four cubes contain foods. And yes, not the raw ingredient, but food, a real warm edible plate of food.
A plate of ratatouille, a bowl of onion gratin, a plate of chicken and mushroom and lastly one big piece of concentrated chocolate were flying out, complete with a spoon and a fork when Nashi opened the cubes; using 10 points each to get those 1 value point thing.
As the drool fell from their mouth and without hesitation Nashi took the several layers of thinly sliced onions and vegetables covered in a creamy white sauce. Ume took the ratatouille, a plate of nutritious soup made from a variety of vegetables that had lavender oil smell. Yuzu took the simple, home-cooked chicken sautéed with mushroom sauce.
After they finished their foods, the dishes were being put into Yuzu Inventory. While they were eating the chocolate cake as their snack, Nashi began to open the next three unidentified cubes, the result was a bottle of red liquid, a ring, and a spiked shield.
"Hey, can I drink that?" Said Yuzu as she was looking at the bottle of red liquid.
"...No." Said Nashi, he knew his sisters were thirsty and so did he. But considering the drink itself was unidentified, he decided that it wasn't worthy to try that out, but...
Out of nowhere, Ume grabbed the bottle from his hand. "No matter how you take a look at it, this is a potion!!" She said as she opened the cork, and without hesitation, she gulped it down.
As she gulped the red liquid potion, the expression on her face turned ugly, like she just stepped on a lego piece. After coughing and spatting the red liquid. "...Just how the hell someone can make something this bitter!!!" She said.
Although, seemed like she was right about it being a potion as the bruise and the colour on her feet turned to normal. "...Oi, finish it." Said Nashi when he noticed her feet condition.
"Grhh.." Groaning, this time her face was full of hesitation. Her face turned like she was being choked to death with every gulping sound that she created. And in the halfway through the bottle, she stopped. "...Oh!! The pain is gone!!" She stood, ran and jumped around as there was nothing wrong with her feet.
Amazed by the effect, this time Nashi began to gulp it down. As the red liquid began to enter his mouth, it did feel bitter, but if he must say, it tasted a little bit like an alcohol, a delicious kind of bitter. And just like his sister, the wound on his hands along with several small cut and bruises slowly healed until nothing was left, not even a scar.
Feeling his body was at its peak, minus the drowsiness. He moved forward to the coins, at first by the time he found it, he wanted to use all of that coin. But after some consideration, he decided it was the best for him to split the coin with his sister, considering he needed a rest and he needed someone else to take the night watch.
He gave Ume the eye symbol one, with him took the arm symbol and face symbol coin. Respectively the arm one was being used to raise his power in arms status and face to raise presence in Charisma status. And Ume raised her perception in Senses status. With Yuzu getting whatever the next coin they could get.
The glowing red ball was a simple one, either raising the Health by 7 or raising the Health regeneration by 3. And this time, after grimacing for some amount of time whether or not he should take the orb or give it to his sisters. He single-handedly decided he would take the first one, and slowly gave them whenever he could find another one.
But now, the big question mark was why did both of Ume and Yuzu couldn't open the cube or the recipe. Ume best guess was because neither both of them had a point or because both of them hadn't killed a monster. Still, if that was the case, nothing they could do right now.
As Nashi touched the recipe, the screen popped out and

Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.
