《When LitRPG Destroys Earth》Chapter 3

Without any light the starry night was a brilliant painting, everything bigger and brighter, blurred in the most fantastic way. But at the same time, the total darkness made Nashi felt restless.
Silently watched both of his sisters with his Mini Map, under the drowsiness and without nothing else to do, he spent most of his time doing some little exercise. Jogged on the spot, push-up and sit-up and after some time. Another notification appeared in front of him
Running is now Rank III. +3 m/s and -0.3 stamina consumption while running.
Dumbfounded, but when he opened his Status screen, his running speed now 12 m/s and there was no indication about stamina consumption. Scratching his head, Nashi began to sit and studiously watched the screen.
Then again... There were just too many numbers. Although some seemed self-explanatory and sounded familiar, there was no real information available to him. Blind as he was standing in the darkness, the best thing he could know was his Brawling progression now 10/40 and Running progression now 0/60.
And then another problem arose. After that amount of little exercise, as the sweats dropped from his body then came the thirst, the hunger and the coldness of the night.
Gritting his teeth, he could only blame himself for their condition right now. If he was calmer back then, he should've taken the emergency bag or just taken the stranger backpack. But... whatever happened had happened, the most important thing for him right now was to keep his eyes opened and thought about how they should get the food.
As he was turning the gear on his brain, Yuzu suddenly awoke. Her gasping and panting sounds were loud enough to make Nashi realized she was the one that created that sound. Vaguely, he could see she shook her head, looking confused while her body trembled.
"...Oi, Yuzu."
"Ye..yes?!" She answered, shocked by the voice of her own brother as she squinted her eyes, trying to see her brother whereabouts.
"Just walk to the front and sit here." Nashi said, knocking the ground with his finger as the guidance for her.
Rubbing her eyes. In silence, she wobbled her way, reached Nashi and without anyone telling her about what she should do, she immediately sat between Nashi's legs.
Albeit he knew his hand was full of callous and wasn't the smoothest hand, he still patting her head. Trying his best to be as gentle as he could. "...Nightmare?" He asked.
Half awake, still dozing off, Yuzu slightly nodded. Then she asked a question to him. "What are you doing?" She asked as she watched her brother seriously looked to the floating screen.
Inwardly sighed, Nashi thought it wasn't the best time for him to studiously learn those screens. And as he closed the screen, he replied to her. "Nothing... just sle-, hm?"
Not even finishing his words, there were two green dots entered the top most corner of his Mini Map. (What is green?) he thought while he closed Yuzu's mouth with his hand and followed it by small shushing sound.
Then as he turned his head to the said direction, another green dot entered, and another one, and three more. From the way they walked, he could say they were in some kind of formation. Two in the front, two acted as the wing, two in the back and one in the middle.
Didn't want to take any risk, he silently carried Yuzu and walked toward Ume, lightly shook her body to wake her up; fully knowing the fact there was no way he could carry both of them at once.

And around the time Ume's finally opened her eyes, a stone flew right into Nashi's temple.
The sudden pain and the impact were enough to make him staggered, and the sound was enough to make Ume's eyes opened wide. "What happened?!" She shouted as she felt a drop of liquid fell from Nashi's forehead.
Furrowed his eyebrows with grimaced expression. No matter what was the green dot was, from their action it wasn't a friendly creature and as he considered they were running to their direction, and alongside with the condition of Ume's foot, running away wasn't an option. Though... there was another option.
Either he abandoned her and ran with Yuzu, or he became the bait and bought some time. But his eyebrows furrowed deeper, thinking about how disgusting himself was to think about the former option first. Clenching his right fist and circling the chain to cover it. "...Take her and hide." He said as he turned back, barely able to see who or what was the one that attacked him.
Pushing them away, he ran to the opposite direction, already prepared for the worst. Whatever those things were, they spoke in an unfamiliar language, or barely a language as the only words Nashi could listen were. "Gii! Gi! Giigii!! Gigiigi!"
Blinded, he felt another blunt object made contact with his head. But as one dot ran precisely to his front, he swung his fist and hit nothing but an air. Then, after Nashi made his attack the creature hit his right leg with something sharp.
(They can throw an object.) (They short.) (They have a weapon.) (They can see in the darkness.) Were the information that he instantly thought of. Gritting his teeth. This time he swung his fist down like he wanted to hit a grade schooler.
And the decision was right. He felt his fist hit something. Their giggling voices suddenly turned into an angry shout when the rest of them saw their friends dropped to the ground.
Not wasting any second, without hesitation Nashi began to raise his bleeding right leg, repeatedly stomping the creature as he could feel its blood was splattered into his body.
Two creatures created another loud shout and ran into Nashi at the same time. And as the green dot creature that he stomped turned grey, he shifted his direction to the right, completely abandoning the one on the left.
At the same time, his fist reached the right creature, the left one hit his stomach with something blunt. Enough to make him spat his saliva out of his mouth. But, his free left hand grabbed the wooden-felt object and using his left leg to do a low sweep.
Surprised by the fact they were light, too light until his kick itself was enough to make one of them flew for a few meters. Though, both of the green dots still hadn't turned grey.
Then another stone flew at his head, Nashi clicked his tongue and charged to the stone direction, heading toward the dot that stood still but this time, with wooden like blunt object on his hands. As Nashi already had the vaguest idea about their height and where they head were located, he swung it from the above and instantly made the green dot turned grey.
"HAAAH! COME ON! WHO ELSE WANT TO COME?!" The loud shout echoed through the dark night, a shout that didn't have any meaning except for raising his spirit up and making him forgot about the pain on his forehead and his right leg.

"GIII!!" They answered him with their own language, as the other two still alive dots were charging back to him, the others followed their action and surrounded him.
"HAH! DIE!" Nashi shouted as he swung the wooden like object into one of those creatures.
And as his back was unprotected, another pain like some part of his meat was chipped away struck him. Groaned, and gritted his teeth in pain, he turned away and vented the pain back to the creature that slashed his back. "FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! DIE!" He shouted as his lips slightly curled up, pummeling the still unknown creature even though it already turned grey.
Bludgeon Weapon Mastery is now rank II. +3 Damage when attacking with Bludgeon type weapon.
Another Talent has awoken in your body. You gain Unarmed Combat Mastery rank I. +1 Damage when punching/kicking/headbutting.
Ignoring those notifications, ignoring the pain on his body, he continued to pummel them, shouted while venting all of his anger out.
In the middle of the night, the seven unknown creatures that came at him slowly fell to their ends, all the seven green dots already turned to grey, but without even able to catch his breath. Another two walked in.
Only this time... Nashi eyes were wide opened when he saw a ball of fire floated around two greens, 1-meter creatures that had scrawny body, disposition with its wide ungainly head.
And as the fireball became brighter, the numbers and the letters on their head slowly became clearer.
Lvl 4 Goblin Fighter and Lvl 5 Goblin Mage.
The thinner Goblin Mage, with its very long nose swinging the staff and following the direction of its staff. The fireball flew at Nashi.
Though it was bright, it didn't take an effort for Nashi to step his way out of the fireball, completely avoiding it and yet without showing any sign of agitation, the Goblin Mage grinned.
Seeing his grin, Nashi frowned. But as the ball touched the ground, it exploded, scattering around into another smaller fireballs.
Just a second after he frowned, several small fireballs touched his left arm. Then he heard a sizzling noise as the flame began to gulp his left arm.
Panickly, he dropped the wooden club on his left hand and used the chain covered right hand to put the fire away, and how was this wasn't a good idea as his effort made the skin on his right hand melted with the chain. Though, as the result, the fire slowly dissipated.
Groaning in pain, he looked to the Goblin Mage and screamed. "FUCK YOU!!" He shouted as he dashed his way to the Goblin Mage.
Blinded by the anger and the adrenaline, without paying attention to his surrounding the more bulkier and mohawk haired Goblin Fighter swung his big iron mace right into his stomach.
Along with the crackling sound, blood coughed from his mouth. With only fresh burnt hands and wobbled legs, Nashi swung his head and without hesitation, opening his red mouth and bit Goblin Fighter's right at his neck.
Another Talent has awoken in your body. You gain Bite rank I. +2 damage when biting.
Crunching the meat and ripping it with one momentum. As his mouth was full of stink rotten tasted meat, the Goblin Fighter was trying at its best to cover the wound, but resulting in nothing but a vain.
And yet, he wasn't alone. Another fireball flew right at Nashi by the time he was pulling the meat from Goblin Fighter's neck.
But he already knew what would it do, this time, rather than stepped his way he jumped and threw his body to the ground. Feeling the flaming heat flew past of his head.
Seeing this the Goblin Mouth continued to move its mouth, muttered about something that wasn't 'Gi' but between its mutter. A young man already arrived right in front of him. Glaring and without saying any word. A slightly weak kick flew right into Goblin Mage's groin.
And either Nashi didn't have that much power on his kick or the Goblin Mage had more weight than the rest, he didn't flew. Though Nashi lips curled up and his eyes were glaring at the Goblin Mage. Raising his feet, he stomped at the Goblin Mage like he was nothing but the cockroach, flattening its head to the ground, splashing the stinky pieces of meat away from his body.
After some time, the adrenaline on his body went down, and the pain on his arms, stomach, legs, became excruciating.
Slowly he sat down right at the messy gore and found a piece of paper and a leather book, lay still near the Goblin Mage corpse.
...In fact, thanks to the fire, Nashi could see several objects that lay near some of the goblin corpse. A card near the Goblin Fighter. And two transparent cubes, and one coin around the other goblins.
"Grh!!" Was the sound he made when he slowly saw his skins were peeled when he took off the chain. "...Fuk." Said Nashi.
Opening his status, his Health dropped down to 4 and his Stamina went to 10. Alongside this, he got 80 points in total.
Spitting the rest of the meat on his mouth while trying to cover his hands with his shirt. "...Oi! You two! It's safe now!"
As the two sisters walked out from their hiding, with Ume trying her best to carry Yuzu while covering her eyes and dragging her own leg. Nashi watched them as he slowly had gotten used to the pain on his hands. With a face full of curiosity, he grabbed the paper and at the time he touched it. Another screen appeared.

Twice Lived
Previously called Standard Reincarnation Story In a fraction of a moment, the Earth was no more. The planet was destroyed, and billions and billions of people were dead. And it was all an accident. This is the story of Elm. A regular American born once on earth and given a chance to be reborn again on a planet with magic and monsters and dungeons. Except that for Elm, this is far from the idealistic reincarnation into a loving family -- the standard story of a child raised by loving parents who teach him the ways of the world, Instead, Elm is born into a family of inquisitors. An order of nobility that is dedicated to hunting down and killing "Twice-Lived" -- the name society has for people like Elm who are reincarnated with all their memories of their past life intact. Disclaimer This story is: 1) Extremely violent and graphic. 2) Still in a rough draft stage. I see what I am writing more like a synopsis than a fully fledged story. I periodically will go back to flesh out earlier chapters, build characters, etc... If you find the words "Show don't tell," comforting accept that unfortunately, I'm not at that stage of the writing process yet. 3) At one point this story was called "Standard Reincarnation Story," and I had written an extremely off-putting description of the story. This was mostly to keep out people who would just read the silly first few chapters then rage quit as soon as the violent stuff got started. Since I just had my first .5 star rating (without a page read count increase) that technique is not working, so I might as well treat this as a regular fiction and try to get regular readers.

A Spirit Vein's Guide to Immortality
TL;DR Synopsis: Man dies from falling banana, gets interrogated but answers vaguely, suffers consequences Actual synopsis: Spirit veins. Many consider them to be the pillar on which the world of cultivation is built. These things served as the foundation for the first few realms that would allow humanity to achieve its everlasting dream of immortality. However, in the present age, these pockets of condensed energy only exist to be under the foundations of massive organizations, fostering a new generation of fighters while passively radiating the energy they contain. Nevertheless, spirit veins are still an important element in the world of cultivation, albeit much less so. With that in mind, have you ever considered what it would be like for someone to turn into a spirit vein? No? Well, Arthur never thought about it either. Going through the usual reincarnation schtick (if one could consider it usual), Arthur was eventually brought into a place where a god asked him where he would like to be reborn. Unsurprisingly, Arthur told the god his ideal rebirth. However, soon enough, he would come to realize that he should have been more specific with it. Now being reborn as the smallest spirit vein, or if you could even consider him a spirit vein, Arthur wondered what he could do other than wait for time to consume him…and that’s where the system came in. With it, he would experience multiple stories of hardships, adventure, romance, and action…all underground. Unless…? Do keep in mind that English is not my first language, so I would like to apologize in advance if there are any grammatical errors, typos, miscalculations and so on. In fact, I'd highly appreciate it if you tell me those mistakes. Also, this story focuses quite a lot on the gradual progression of the MC at the beginning, but in the long run, upgrading sprees would probably be more common. Thanks for reading this small note!
