《Emperor's Reign》Chapter 20

Aeron awoke to the sound of a phone buzzing.
He picked himself up out of bed and stretched away his tiredness.
Checking his phone, he saw an invitation to a party Saturday evening, today.
He scrolled through it, noting that it was for work and that he was one of the ones selected for the 'party game' they would be playing.
He sent a reply email, saying he would be there, and checked the time. 11 AM, that meant he had been out a full 8 hours. It was the first time he slept properly since the arrival of the Heaven Domain as every other time he had entered the Otherworld instead of purely resting.
Doing a quick bit of maths in his head, he figured out that it was evening in the Heaven Domain and there wasn't much reason for him to go back. He trusted the others to hold down the fort for a bit, if only because their loyalty scores were 100.
Now that he had 4 hours to kill, Aeron decided to start trying to make up for his shortcoming that he noticed during the battle earlier. He couldn't effectively command.
Earlier, he left the arrangements up to Henry and Kay whilst only giving out some simple orders himself. Even the golem summoning plan had been suggested to him by one of the Druids.
It was not that he lacked the confidence or ability to, he just lacked the knowledge to utilise his soldiers and resources properly.
To make up for this, during the four hours on Earth, Aeron studied Ancient Military Strategy. He would study this on a rotating schedule of Ancient Military Strategy, Battle Tactics and browsing the Heaven Domain forums for different magics or supernatural effects that could not be found in the real world.

When he finished his first session, it was already 3 PM. He quickly washed and changed before sending his consciousness back to the Otherworld.
...
He appeared on the walls, the same place he had left. A patrolling soldier almost walked into him as he materialized.
Hurriedly stopping, the soldier awkwardly pulled out their weapon as their partner did the same.
There was a momentary standoff before the soldiers recognised him and hurriedly bowed.
"Apologies your majesty."
The said in union.
It looked like his elites were improving military discipline amongst the soldiers.
He nodded to acknowledge them before jumping down off the wall and walking towards the centre of the village.
However, he was interrupted by a system notification in his ear.
"Playing paused notifications."
"Congratulations, you have reached Rank 2 Baron."
"Congratulations, you have been rewarded as the 1st person to reach Rank 2 Baron in England."
"Congratulations, you have been rewarded 1000 gold, a Major Ring of Agility (Silver), and a Summon Guards Token (Silver)."
The voice finished and the two items appeared in front of him as well as a pile of coins.
Grabbing the items first, he checked out their stats.
Major Ring of Agility (Silver)
Grants the wearer +9 Agility.
Summon Guards Token (Silver)
Can be used to summon 25 [Silver Guards] at the [Origin].
He slid the ring onto a finger and kept the token securely in his pocket. He would send people to gather up the gold coins later.
Continuing on to the village centre, Aeron was greeted by a hurried Henry who came to greet him.
"We were worried about you Lord."
He said as he bowed.
Aeron smiled and waved his hand to dismiss it, showing his attitude towards this matter.
Henry understood, nodding and hurrying off to pass the news that Aeron was alright.

Meanwhile, Aeron stepped up to the [Origin] and pressed the token into it, watching as it sunk in and made the [Origin] shine with a silver light.
There was a silver flash and when the light subsided there were 25 soldiers standing on the podium.
They were all equipped in armour that shone silver and even the halberds they used as weapons reflected the sunlight from polished silver surfaces.
They bowed in union and the captain stepped forwards.
"Your Majesty, we are at your service."
He said.
Aeron nodded and replied,
"It's an honour to have you."
After saying that, he checked out the captain's stats.
Name: Constantine
Titles: Silver Guard Captain (+5% stats for Silver Guards under command)
Profession: Silver Guard
Grade: S
Race: Human
Age: 32 (100)
Stats: Strength 44 (27+12+5), Constitution 44 (27+12+5), Agility 32 (27+5), Intelligence 32 (27+5)
Cultivation: Stage 1-5
Cultivation Technique: Eyes of Silver
Skills: [Command Silver Guards] [Crescent Slash] [Silver Halberd Technique] [Vigilance]
Equipment: Silver Guard Armour (+2 Strength, +3 Constitution), Silver Guard Halberd (+3 Strength, +2 Constitution)
Power: [Stage 1]
Damn was he strong, even stronger than Aeron in terms of pure stats.
Curious, Aeron checked out the profession.
[Silver Guard]: C grade Military
Receive [Eyes of Silver] Cultivation Technique, [Crescent Slash] Skill, [Silver Halberd Technique] Skill, [Vigilance] Skill, +25% Strength, +25% Constitution
That was also extremely powerful, making Aeron feel conflicted. He was happy he had these people under his command but at the same time he was frustrated at having a weaker profession than his subordinates.
This was a good thing for the village however you looked at it. Each Silver Guard was at least Stage 1 and had gear specifically made for them by the system. They had a named halberd technique and were capable of mid ranged attacks using their [Crescent Slash] Skill.
As an added benefit, their eyes were modified as they cultivated their technique, allowing them to see in dark and dim lighting.
This was a truly elite force, more powerful than the one Aeron had put together himself. This was even more evident when you noticed that their loyalty stat was 100 and they would lay down their lives the moment Aeron asked it of them.
With the help of these soldiers, Aeron could see very few obstacles to his development in the near future.
"I look forwards to your service."
He addressed the gathered soldiers before giving them their assignment.
