Author: Hello everyone. LoveBee here. This will be my first travel-between-worlds fiction…not that I have written much before.

I intend to write the fiction in third person however there will be a lot first person ‘corners’ monologue ‘corners’ mostly Reveka’s Point of View. This is done to more easily and better express the feelings and thoughts of the character.

I hope you enjoy! ^^

The 21st century, a true age of technology and advancement.

The biggest of cities, filled with skyscrapers, fast cars, lights… screens… If you ask a teenager to describe the achievements of technology today it would probably go like this: big screens, bigger screens, biggest screens or cell phone, PC, and TV. Not always, but it’s partly true. Of course none of these exclude the most important world wide web, the internet. Talk, chat, play, whatever you want you find it here.

Society also advances. A never-stopping change occurs with every passing minute. Someone gets acknowledged, another gets ostracized. The word of many often makes a law even if it may be wrong… And for those who weren’t on the “right” side of this law-making, what awaits, might just be isolation if not worse… Let’s not get in the dark things.

--Reveka--

I live in a two story building bought and gifted to me by my dearest parents six years ago for me to use after I graduated. Things didn’t really go as planned. It’s a bit big for only one person however it has become my love. I haven’t left it for full five years. Why should I? I have everything I need here.

My two favorite rooms are my own bedroom and the room next door which I call the tech-space. In here I have my mangas, my mystery and horror books and my cheesy romance novels though I don’t know why I still read them. Then, there’s my stacks of video games and computers. Oh, there’s also my goldfish Berry… He’s the fifteenth goldfish I’ve had in these past years… In the first floor there is also a TV room that works as a mini-cinema. Did I mention that my bedroom and tech-space are in the second floor? Well, whatever.

The other rooms are the bathroom, living room and kitchen and that’s it.

My parents? Well, my dad is a world wide (pun intended) full-time business-man and half-time ambassador. Wait, what?? Well, he’s filthy rich and I only know he’s never in my country let alone my house. I only talk with him through the internet.

And my mother? I see her. I see her a lot… in television. She’s an actress and a damn good one at that. She’s always in some kind of tour filming some kind of movie or whatever is it that actors do.

I don’t hate my parents. They are the kind of parents one would be proud to have but they aren’t the kind I could easily talk to… if I talk to them at all.

As far as I care I can do what I want as long as it doesn’t involve my eating schedule. My mum takes care of that. She is the one who pays for the food and holds a strict plan on what I eat. I can never eat more or less than what mother says… or mother’s doctor (never asked).

Yeah, this is how big my life is. It involves a house, everything inside and that’s all. I love it. I’m a half-time gamer, a half-time blogger sometimes and right now a full-time coach potato watching “Adams Family”… without popcorns which leads me to curse the damn fridge and the freaking eating schedule though it’s probably the only thing that has saved my figure until now.

However I decided to make a little change for today since I got my hands on some money by selling my mother’s photo plus autograph online. It’s not illegal or anything, right?

Suddenly the bell rings.

--------------------

As Reveka heard the bell she went down to the door and opened it without thinking much. She probably should have been a little more cautious though to avoid what happened next.

The one before her was a blonde, brightly-eyed boy with a big smile holding a pizza in his hand.

“Hello miss, here’s your pizza.”

“Um…”

“You ordered pizza, right?” he asked her a little shyly.

“Umm…ye…ah.”

“Great!” His bright smile returned instantly as he handed the pizza to her.

She took the still hot pizza in her hands and then stood there gawking not moving an inch and just barely breathing.

“Excuse me?” the boy suddenly talked after some moments of silence.

“Y…ye..s?” she asked surprised of his sudden talking.

“The money?” He looked at her confused.

“Oh….um…” She put her hand in her pocket to take out some money and gave it to him completely embarrassed.

“Oh, thank you. Here’s your… change.” However as he was about to give her the money she abruptly closed the door and run inside the house to her room.

As for the boy he stood there completely confused but easily recovered himself with a shrug and then a loud “thank you”.

And what happened to our dear Reveka? She was in her bed head-first into the pillows and covering her face with her hands. What was wrong with her? Five long years, that’s what was wrong. She hadn’t talked properly with someone for the span of those five years. She had left school by the age of twelve and when fourteen had become a complete shut in. She graduated by taking exams however she refused personal tutors and the like. What she knew she had learned it by herself.

The way she lived was also a choice of hers. No one knew, though, why she had made that choice. Her parents had tried several times to get her out of the house, even her father, but they both gave up at some time probably because of their busy lives. As for Reveka, her life would probably remain like that even in the future unless something happened… and it happened.

Some days later as per usual she was sitting in front of her screen playing some kind of game but for whatever reason she wasn’t too into it. There was this nagging feeling.

From time to time she stood up from her position to put some exercise into her numb legs. After getting bored of game playing she started reading a paranormal mystery about a ghost who haunted a detective so that he could help her find her killer which happened to be some person she was having an affair with and supposedly her real love even before she married out of convenience. Seeing that the one who killed her was her loved one she went into poltergeist mode and started killing. The one to stop her at the end was the detective etc. etc.

That day was a beautiful Friday. The sun shone through her curtains and light leaked in her unusually open window. The street was full of noise weirdly enough, since this was a usually quiet neighborhood if not always. However, all that noise became a deathly silence and things started to get weirder from that point on.

Suddenly this screeching noise was heard. It was a lot like scratching glass just much louder and ear-breaking. It forced her to close her ears and put some force into doing it. Even after it quieted down her ears kept ringing. In the next few seconds after calming down a little she forced her steps to take her to the window and then looked at the scene outside.

Everyone on the streets was down. By down I mean either unconscious or dead.

She shivered a bit thinking about the last part and immediately looked in another direction (by that I mean up) which she maybe shouldn’t have looked at. A pterodactyl was falling in her direction. Wait, what? Well, not a pterodactyl, its form is not like that…more like a dragon, the kind you read about in fantasy novels (like this one).

The discovery of the century with some slight problems. It fell right into her house and crushed everything.

--Reveka—

At first there was this quiet and calmness. Sounds good, however it felt like it cast a shadow on my mind. All I could do… I couldn’t do a thing. I felt numb body and brain, both. My senses… I had those, right? Nope, not a chance. I can’t see, and here I thought it was because of the dark outside. I can’t smell anything… I think I’m not even breathing.

I wanted to get panicked at that but I couldn’t. I mentioned this shadow in my head, right? Well, it was more like a blanket now. That’s bad news. Until that moment I still hadn’t realized that I was probably dead and I wasn’t going to realize it anytime soon.

And then that happened. My ears started ringing again. However, this time, my brain got weird too not only my ears. It felt like it was being crashed, no, squashed, a little like a sponge(bob). My bones did these idiot-like crunching sounds… like someone was chewing on them… Oh, my GOD!!! THE PTERO… DRAGON!!!

I opened my eyes forcefully. They were closed apparently. And the first thing I saw was a tree and me going fast towards it. Wait, wait if you don’t you’ll… crash !

And I ended head-first into it…
