《Transmigrated Into a Blind Woman’s Body》Chapter 43

“AAAHHHH!!!!” Hearing the sound of the assassin who would kill her, she did not know what had happened, but it was clear that someone had come to save her. “Shi Men! Take her and leave!” Realizing the voice, she gasped to know that he appeared there to save her.
“Miss Lin! We need to go now!” Shi Men appeared and tried to take her away.
“No! I’m not leaving my comrade behind!” Lin Ning held tightly onto the injured wolf that both men had noticed. ‘I can’t abandon her when she risked her life to protect me!’ Lin Ning held a sense of responsibility towards the wolf abandoned by their pack.
“Take the wolf as well!” Cao Peizhi knew that they could not delay any more time. It would get more dangerous if they continued to wait any longer in the same spot. Xia Ling had managed to handle the assassins fighting her in the house. She would see that her young miss was safe and well, but the wolf was heavily injured. Shi Men took the wolf into his arms, carrying it while Lin Ning followed along but glanced back at Cao Peizhi.
Seeing his color held no sign of fear but the need to protect. “You better come and find me!” Lin Ning shouted out to him, making Cao Peizhi turn to take a look back at her with tears that he did not know if it was meant for him or the wolf. He felt the corner of his lips curve up, knowing that she was worried about him when they were in this dangerous situation. Lin Ning could sense a bit of joy in Cao Peizhi, feeling herself go after Shi Men soon after.
“Take this path, and it will directly lead you to our campsite. I do not know when you will get there, but do not stop no matter what.” Shi Men had gone back to assist in the fight while Xia Ling had to get the horse with the old couple’s hay carriage that they had. The wolf had been placed into the hay carriage with Lin Ning sitting in it as well. Xia Ling went ahead with the horse to start its way, continuing to hear the clashing of swords that sounded endless. “Young miss! Be sure to hold on!” Xia Ling did not want Lin Ning flying off the carriage while she was steering ahead.

Holding on tightly, Lin Ning had also held close to the wolf that was still trying to keep itself conscious during that time. Feeling the bumpy road, Lin Ning heard the sounds of hooves that did not belong to their horse. “Don’t let them escape! You all know the consequences!” Hearing the voice behind them, Lin Ning knew that they needed to slow them down somehow. Moving her hand around inside the carriage, she knew that there must be something inside that she could throw out. Feeling a small wooden stick, there was what felt like a hard metal at the other end of it. Not even caring about what it was, she did not hesitate to throw it out as it flung towards the assassins. She could hear the sound of one of the assassins in pain, giving her a clear idea about where her aim could have gone.
Feeling an abrupt stop with their carriage, Lin Ning did not know why Xia Ling had stopped their carriage. It was until she heard the voices in front of them with the assumption that the assassins must have had more to come and assist them. “Ling…” Going up to Xia Ling, she held onto her maid’s shoulder and could sense that there was indeed more that had arrived.
“Young miss, please stay behind me no matter what.” Xia Ling whispered back to Lin Ning, who fully understood the situation that they were in. With her other hand on the wolf, she knew that it would be hard to escape this fight.
Standing up, she faced the assassins who were clearly after her since the beginning when she left her home. “Why are you all trying to kill me, if I may ask?” She could guess who it was that was aiming for her, but she just wanted to be sure.

“What does a blind woman like you know? Even if we tell you, do you think that you will be able to know the person by look?” One of the assassins said, looking at Lin Ning, who let out a sigh of a heavy breath.
“Knowing the person’s name is all I ask. It is not like I will be able to live past this.” Telling the assassin, she could sense that they were debating between telling her or not since she was correct about having no way out of this.
“Hmph, you made a fair point.” The assassin leading the group held a smirk at the blind woman that they were sent to kill. “I do not know what you did, but the empress sent us to get rid of you. She seems to hold a deep hatred towards you.” Lin Ning figured that one of the two women wanted her dead. Standing there, she did not know what else to ask since she found out which woman wanted her dead. “Well, I believe that ends the conversation there.” Sensing the assassin come forth towards her, she waited, knowing that she could not escape it.
“Young miss!!” Xia Ling shouted as she stood in front of Ling Ning. Being unable to make a move, Lin Ning hugged Xia Ling tightly, hoping that she would not be the only one to experience the pain of the sword piercing through. Hearing the clinking sound of a sword drop, there was another metal-like sound that had hit the blade. Xia Ling turned around to see that the bandit’s sword had been hit by another sword thrown at it, and at the same time, an arrow had shot him in the chest.
“Take cover!!!” Hearing someone shout, Xia Ling had both her and Lin Ning duck down into the wagon they had ridden. Sticking close to the wolf as they took cover with the sound of arrows being shot all-around towards the assassins.

Philosophers corner
I won’t say this is a fiction, In fact it’s just things I suppose I need to put out there! Some things might be synonymous to a story, mainly my story. Interesting tidbits I’ve wrote down while high, sad or otherwise distracted in life. Hopefully it’s received well! This is for those who believe they are alone, you aren’t.
