《Transmigrated Into a Blind Woman’s Body》Chapter 42

Lin Ning had eaten with the couple and her two comrades, who had joined along with dinner around that time. ‘This seems like a relaxing time. It has been quite some time since we’ve had a decent meal.’ Ling Ning thought. The wolf had a plate of food placed next to Lin Ning on the ground while still on guard.
Throughout the time with the couple, Lin Ning had told them about her being blind since birth which made the woman turn to tears since no child should have had such an unfortunate thing happen to them. “I cannot believe that you were born this way! You are such a good child! Your parents must be very fortunate to have you!” The old woman was being hugged into her husband’s arms, seeing how this young lady was born this way. “You look like a woman who would have been able to live a peaceful life, but God was so harsh to take away something so precious from you.”
“You do not need to worry. I am used to this. It is not like it will be so hard to adjust to.” Lin Ning found this couple quite amusing since they made her think of her parents, who acted in similar ways. ‘I wonder how both of them are right now.’ Missing her parents, it was getting late by the night that they needed to rest.
“Alright, I think it is time that we all went to rest for the day. Are you both fine with sharing one room together?” The old man and old woman did not have much room for a small house as their own.
“En, us ‘three’ will be fine.” Lin Ning corrected him, including the wolf that had just joined them.

“Ahh, I apologize. You three will be fine in the room?”
“En!”
“Will the wolf be alright? It looks to be limping a bit.” The old woman decided to bring it up, noticing that the wolf did not stand on one of its legs.
“I will have to find someone who can examine her. I did not know that they were still limping.” Lin Ning had no idea that the wolf was still limping at this moment. ‘How injured was this wolf?’ Resting that night, the three figures slept in one room and shared the bed. Lin Ning and Xia Ling slept the same way while being stuck in the middle again. The wolf was sleeping on the wall of the bed and laid its head down on top of Lin Ning’s lap while Xia Ling slept on the edge of the bed. “Little wolf, why are you still limping?” She asked, knowing that Xia Ling was sound asleep while the wolf just kept its head on her lap. Taking off her blindfold, she decided to sleep for the night and think more in the morning. The night had felt long, but Lin Ning had been woken up to hear the wolf growling for some odd reason. Opening her, she could see red again with the figures holding killing intent from outside the little farmhouse.
Xia Ling had also been woken up by the growling from the wolf, knowing very well that they were still likely being followed. “Young Miss, please stay here.” Xia Ling got up from the bed, being sure not to make any loud noise that would alarm anyone who would be outside the house. Standing close to the door, Xia Ling held her sword close to her. Lin Ning had gotten out of the bed, standing to be prepared for anything that would happen. The wolf had gotten up, standing on top of the bed and keeping quiet while being ready to attack if needed to do so. The doors had been broken down with Xia Ling coming face to face with an assassin that was specifically sent to kill them. The wolf had gone forth and jumped onto one of the assassins while attacking them violently. “Young miss run!!” Xia Ling wanted Lin Ning to run, but she worried if her young miss could get out if she could from all of this hassle that was going on. Lin Ning knew that she had to avoid all the sounds of the sword and struggle that was going on at that moment. Xia Ling saw another man come at her with a sword with two swords that were pushing down at her. “AAAHHHH!!!!” Being able to push them away created an opening for Lin Ning to get away. “Young miss go!!!” Xia Ling shouted with the wolf pulling at Lin Ning’s hanfu to follow after.

“Ling!” Lin Ning had no choice but to follow the wolf that was tugging at the bottom of her hanfu, being taken out without being able to notice that the old couple had been the first ones killed by the assassins. Being taken outside, Lin Ning followed the wolf’s footsteps, falling down by the uneven ground. “Ah!” Hitting the hard soil made fear rise within her, with her back turning cold. The assassins came closer, with Lin Ning facing the wolf and hugging them. “You need to leave! I cannot let you die with me!” Lin Ning cried, knowing that the wolf was likely killed due to her. The wolf ignored her, running towards the assassin that came at her as she heard the wolf and a sword at the same time. “NOOO!!!!” Going to the wolf, she was crying with the feeling of blood in her hands that belonged to the wolf that lay on the ground. Being surrounded by the assassins, she could not escape any of them as she hugged the wolf’s head close to her chest. “I’m sorry.” She wept.
“You should be so easy to get rid of. I do not understand why so many struggles to get rid of you.” One of the assassins said, going up as he held his sword above his head.
Hugging the wolf close to her, she did not want to let it suffer more than it already was. ‘I’m sorry.’ She apologized to everyone that she could no longer see once the assassin’s sword cut her.
