《Maxing Out From the Start!》Chapter 14 - Dragon Fight

"Roar!!!"
The black dragon screams at me from above. Making noise with their bodies, the other SSS-rank monsters rally up as they approach me. Although I'm in the air, the Giants are tall enough to reach me. Even if I fly higher, they can start throwing things at me. Although I can dodge the projectiles, it would be a waste of time and energy. Also, the wolves are not ordinary wolves. They are Fafnirs, which is the highest rank a wolf can be. Rarer than diamonds and emeralds, these beasts can use wind and water magic with ease. If that's not enough, that dragon can also use magic and skills, which should be devastating damage-wise.
Nevertheless, I stand still, continuing to smile as I glare at the upcoming monsters.
"Time for the real massacre to start!"
Honestly, I did lose about a tenth of my intellect from that last spell. I still have plenty of intellect left, but if I'm not careful, I might use up all of them. In case someone dies, like that guard, I won't be able to revive them. Well, there's a low probability that would happen since I made the wall to protect her... Anyway, what shall I do to these monsters?
While I start pondering, the impatient monsters made their move. All five giants randomly stop moving, bent down, and start to pick up the trees rooted on the ground. With their mighty force, they unrooted the trees and used them as weapons. Then, they begin throwing their weapons at me. Moving as fast as a baseball, the trees soar through the air in my direction.
Luckily, this is no big deal for me as I can easily dodge them; however, when I do, the trees continue flying downwards and crash into the ground, causing a massive shockwave and crater that shakes the ground. Trees around the impact all shake violently. Most of them fall immediately due to the shaking, while others start bending in weird directions.
Without giving me any time to process the damage, the giants begin equipping themselves with more ammo. On the other hand, the three wolves are all under me, beginning to shoot wind magic at me. Slices of dull-sword-like pieces of wind come at me at a normal velocity. I easily dodge them without breaking a sweat. They continue shooting their magic at me, having me dodge both their magic and the tree's projectiles. That said, none of this is needed. With my protection value and amount of health, I can probably survive each of their attacks for a while; however, I rather not find out how long I can last. I mean, I'm not invincible... Only slightly if I use my cards right.
Anyway, while all of this was happening, the dragon stares at me, taking a while to prepare his magic. After about a minute of dodging, the dragon unleashes a bombardment of Dark-type magical spears towards me. The volley of spears falls at high arrow-like speed down upon me. The spears also land on the giants and wolves. With such velocity, the spears go through the giants, killing one entirely. Holes start appearing on the ground surface, going as deep as wells and as wide as a baby pool. If this were used within a town, buildings would start collapsing or be very damaged. The wolves seem to dodge the arrows of their size; however, the shockwave from the arrow's impact seems to cause some damage to them. Ha, nice teamwork, dragon!

For me, I tested my theory and let the arrows fall upon me. Although most of them landed on me, they all suddenly stop on my skin, losing all their speed, and fall onto the ground in pieces. I laugh out loud, mocking the dragon for such a weak attack. I did secretly check my attributes, but after seeing that my protection value only went down by 1/100th of its value, I gave up on needing to dodge anything anymore. Of course, if I get attacked 99 more times, I would need to worry, but I don't plan on that lasting that long.
"Now, it's my turn."
While taking on all of the monsters' attacks, I finally came up with an idea. Out of all of my magical skills, there is one that I haven't tested out that much. Well, I haven't tested out how much damage I can cause with it... This is going to be fun!
Laughing to myself, I shout out the name of the skill.
"Spell Engineering - Four Types: Water, Wind, Ground, Fire - all at MAX - Laster-type - Elemental Blast!"
Spell Engineering... This skill allows me to create my own spells using the attributes I have. To make it work in combination with other magic, I need the skill, Mixing Magic. To use it, I need to give it some parameters. First, I need to tell it how many types of magic I'm going to be using. I can also combine the same type to make it powerful. For instance, I can say two types but have them be the same magical attribute. In this case, I use all four of the main magical attributes: water, wind, ground, and fire.
Next, you need to give each type a percentage of how much power to use. Depending on the level the skill is, the more percentage you can add to them. It works with a point system. At max level, I have 10,000 points that I can allocate to types. At this level, I can copy skills that I already have and make them more powerful. For instance, if I wanted to, my Wind Slash can be upgraded to slice almost anything, like Mythril. In this case, it would be considered at level 100 rather than 10... Still, I don't know why I would need power... If I wanted to slash those giants with the skill, I would need to use it since I don't think at level 10 that the spell could kill them in one shot.
Also, you can't go over the points. For example, I said MAX, which is at 100%; however, they can't be at such value. In this case, the skill automatically divides out the points evenly to the types. In this case, each of them got 2,500 points. The points can be lower than 10,000 too. For instance, if I set all four of them to 10%, all of them would only take 1,000 points, leaving 6,000 points untouched.
Next, you need to give it a type, like an arrow, an explosion, or a tornado. You don't need this, but if you don't say one, it makes one for you, so it's good to know what it is before casting it. I'm using a Laster-type which will make a beam at some random diameter. I could have determined the measurements for the beam, but I just let the skill do it for me.

Lastly, you have to activate the spell by calling out its name, as you do for the other spells. That said, you most likely don't know its name if you are experimenting with it. Luckily, the name comes to you after you configure the spell you want to use. Now, there are more customizations you can do; however, this is the bare minimum.
With that, the skill activates, makes a sizeable black-tinted magic circle in the middle, aimed towards the dragon, with four smaller white-tinted pentagrams around the black-tinted circle. On the center of each white circle, there are the names of the types I use in an ancient language - the same one on the status plate that I couldn't read before.
The white-tinted circles then start producing different colors of lights, each the same color as associated with their names. For example, the fire-labeled circle has an orange light, while the wind-labeled circle has a white light. Next, the middle black-tinted circle produces a black light. The white circles then aim towards the black light and begin shooting a light beam onto it. The black light slowly increases in size until it has the same diameter as a miniature globe.
The dragon notices what I'm doing and begins freaking out as he sees all of the mana that I'm collecting. In an attempt to stop me, he gathers all of the mana within him and prepares a beam of his own. The surrounding monsters look up at us in fear. Although they wanted to all kill me, the lower monsters start backing up, seeing me as someone too powerful for them to handle. I ignore them for now and resume casting the spell.
Now, at this point, the spell is almost done. It currently only needs to gather some more of my mana before I can laugh it off into the dragon. The dragon's beam is also almost finished. Since he took not as much time as I did, it's apparent that it will not be as magically strong as mine. Nevertheless, he continues casting it in hopes of somehow surviving the spell.
Then, we simultaneously launch the beam at each other. A black beam shoots out from the dragon at super-fast speeds, while my darker beam shoots towards the dragon at a medium speed. Then, seconds later, the two beams collide with one another, creating a large explosion in the air. That said, you can see that my ray is slowly eating away at the dragon's beam. As time goes on, my beam gathers the mana inside the beam and gains speed, eating his beam much faster than before.
In the dragon's eyes, I watch as he gets more nervous, but he continues his beam while trying to raise its power output. Too bad for him; it's already too late. After eating most of his beam, my beam skyrockets toward the dragon and collides with him. Without much protection or defense, the beam instantly evaporates his skin, continues right through him, and heads towards space.
I stop the spell as soon as I kill him, feeling some fatigue after using the spell. I check my status to see that I used up 25% of my intellect. It's not as bad as when I used my revival skill, so I won't blackout, but it is still enough to make me feel slightly sick. Anyway, the dragon's body starts falling to the surface with its head missing. It seems my blast took out 25% of its body, including its head. That said, I start flying towards it and in a hurry, but its body into my storage skill. Then, I scan around and fly around towards the monsters that ran away during my battle with the dragon.
The giants were easy to spot as they are slow and incredibly tall. So, telling my earlier theory, I attempt to replicate the wind slash skill but with enough power to kill the giants with one shot.
"Spell Engineering - 1 type: Wind - 2,000 points - Slash-type - Wind Slash!"
At that moment, an incredibly sharp sword-like piece of wind forms in front of me and flies towards the head of one of the giants. The slash chops down all of the tops of the trees instantly as it soars towards a giant. Since I didn't specify, the slash is way shorter than if I used the spell itself. That said, if I increase the number of points, I could make a blade more extensive than what the spell could do... Nevertheless, the blade is sharper and long enough to cut the head of it entirely. If I had to guess, its power is what the spell would be at level 20. Although it might not seem like it, all of the points went into the sharpness of the wind, which is needed to cut the head of such a monster...
Seconds later, the wind reaches the head of a giant and cuts it cleanly off, instantly killing it. Sadly, the output plumped after going the giant and dissipates. I take a look at my intellect and saw that it took 1/1000th of my intellect (total amount, not the current amount). The usual skill takes much lesser than that, but it's not as good. Feeling satisfied with the results, I quickly went over to the other giants, cut their heads off, and then collected their bodies. Afterward, I scanned around for the wolves and teleported down to them.
After appearing in front of time, it runs in the opposite direction using its wind magic in fear. I quickly fly along with it and cast the same spell that I used with the giant on the wolf. In seconds, the head of the wolf falls off, along with some trees. I quickly gather its body and move on to the next wolf. After collecting all of the bodies, I do one last scan to see any more monsters. After seeing none, I start undoing the wall as I repair the forest back to its original look.
