《Ruthless Reincarnator》Chapter 43

Instinct Seeds.

They gather the Incomplete Seeds produced by Individual Seeds, suppressing them, accumulating them around themselves, and then growing.

Soon, Tiphoon existed as a new evolutionary background.

Its first life, long before I arrived on it, was void of Reason or Instinct. At least this kind of instinct. It had evolutionary adaptations on the life on its surface, but not Instinct. Not this mystical and demonic wisdom.

It would grow truly randomly, if not for Tiphoons’ interference by itself.

Still, there were no more signs of these old forms of life.

Instead, there were only signs of new life being created from nothingness. From a primeval soup of nutrients and DNA.

This life had the Key of Reason, and now, as the Instinct Seeds glued to it, it thrived for Reason as well. Every single piece of everything on Tiphoon could now hold Incomplete Seeds, and the Instinct Seed desired those, even if it was limited to exist, at the time, only in the primeval goo. Still, eventually small bacterium would be made by it. And then plural beings would begin to exist.

The Instinct Seed gathered Incomplete Seeds around itself, hoarding all kinds of things, from rock pieces to protein, but also gathered Magic Power at astonishing rates, nourishing every single Incomplete Seed, one by one. The poor Seeds, however, were overwhelmed by instinct - more as farther away from being Complete they were.

Individual Seeds could be formed quickly. Other Instinct Seeds could be formed as well. A thin balance was quickly established, as two Instinct Seeds would repel one another.

The primeval goo started to show signs of movement.

Tiphoon would watch over it with care.

But the goo, itself, desired to grow.

Desired to absorb power and produce a variety of beings.

The Instinct Seeds resonated together in the whole of Tiphoon, with a single objective in mind: Making more of themselves. Taking all magic for themselves. Suppressing all reason.

Grinding into Tiphoons’ rocky surface, rising to its ethereal air, it desired to eat and multiply.

Not because of random evolution and natural selection.

But to create more space, to absorb more Incomplete Seeds, produce more of itself, more of life which thrives to grow, compete, conquest, evolve.

This was Instinct, the desire deeply carved inside of this Seed.

To eat. To multiply. To create more vessels. To gather all the Magic Power Tiphoon could ever produce, using every single drop of it to nourish the Incomplete Seeds around it, only so to, someday, produce Individual Souls in masse, like a finely oiled machine.

Once a few million years had passed, Tiphoon would again have true humans.

This time, humans which evolved from primates. Humans which would be able to fight Instinct since they had Individual Seeds. Which would them be sealed after death, until they were of use.

Animals, plants and others would hold all sorts of Seeds, in many degrees of completion, in many degrees of vulnerability to the Instinct Seeds.

Instinct Seeds slurped magic power as if it they were drinking water after days of the most awful thirst.

Eat. Multiply. Produce. The reason all I had done had to be done. So one more planet could produce a single Instinct Seed and then use it to create a complete cycle of Seeds. My conscience faded.

At least one thing made me happy. If what I saw was true, then the old World Tree now would do what it always wanted to do.

And I….

I am finally returning home.
