The selected breeding has started to show its first results.

The band of children following the group has shown visible growth in mental capacity. The parents also seem to have been inspired by me calling them by name, so the children seem to have been receiving names.

At first some of the females would come to me and present the children, but I would just pat them on the head and send them off.

I want them to understand that they can name their own children and each other as well. This will increase the depth of the current language they use.

Such language has been consisting of only a few elements so far.

A loud yell which means mostly “pay attention to me”. Another which means “follow me”.

A third one means “attack”, a fourth means “stop” and a fifth means “you can eat”.

That, and, of course, the individual names of each Elf.

“Retreat” can be done by combining “pay attention to me” and “follow me”, so I didn’t care to invent a specific word to mean it. It should come eventually as they become more adept at war.

Of course, this can all be a placebo effect from my mind. Young children learn faster, so they may be just as stupid as the latter batch.

Still, I don’t think that’s the case. Children usually come as well when we are hunting, so many have been imitating their parents in their playing around and showing remarkable results.

How do we hunt with so many people?

Dinosaurs are big things and this continent have many of them. I just need to keep the beasts caged with a magical semi-sphere-shaped barrier and eventually the warriors will follow me to it.

Of course, I have kept the distinction by strength, and the old groups of “dumb males” and “dumb females and less dumb males”, “reasonably rational females and smart males” and “other females and top-level males” still exist.

The greater progress, however, I have been seeing in the smart males group.

They have started to try harder and harder to learn how to use lances, to ascend of class and enjoy benefits.

I believe soon enough I will be able to refine these thing’s reason further.
