《In The Dragon Ball Universe With The Summoning System》Chapter 57: Answers

While we were driving back to the motel, I asked the system a few questions.
'So, why are there mutations here?' I asked.
[Host had to be weakened to give you a true challenge, so the system dispersed almost all of your ki to the planet, and it caused around 1% of the population, living or undead to mutate with enhanced abilities or abilities unique to themselves] The system answered.
'Okay... so, is anyone else in the group mutated?' I asked.
[Three in the group are mutated, one enhanced and the other two with abilities unique to themselves] The system answered.
'...Can you tell me who they are?' I asked.
[No, the system cannot tell you] The system answered, much to my dismay.
'Crap...' I thought, annoyed.
"Hey, are you okay man?" Doug asked, "Is the bite acting up or something?"
"No, I was just thinking... do you think others in the group could be mutated?" I asked, "I mean, if it happened to me and that walker... why wouldn't it happen to others?"
"That's a good point man... maybe we should run some experiments or something," Doug said.
"Ah, well... Orochimaru could probably do that, he's good at experiments, especially when it comes to humans" I said.
"What? Why?" Doug asked.
"Well, he told me that to make the A.I's body, he had to make it as similar to a human as possible, so... he used some willing participants to run some tests... and before you ask, I don't know what sort of tests he did, he only said that he did the tests in a perfectly legal manner" I said, a small smile forming on my face.
"Well, alright then..." Doug said.
"So, Lee... how do you think the group's going to react at the sight of this haul?" I asked.
"Well, I'm of the personal opinion that they're going to be completely shocked and probably praising the four of us," Lee said with a grin.
"Well, that sounds pretty god damn nice," I said with a grin.
After about an hour, we finally made it back to the motel.

God complex
A hero is summoned to another world, vanquishes evil, yadda yadda, saves the kingdom and lives happily ever after. There is no such hero in this story. Just a desperate youth with great ambition and very little to lose. A zero to hero style story set in a country clearly inspired by modern USA with just as many issues and the minority of mages often pulling strings from the shadows. I am also hoping the whole thing won't turn out edgy enough to cut me. I want to rely on actual good writing rather than cheap powertrip gimmicks. edit: Please don't mind Zetari's salty review. He is quite literally making up any use of the torture and human experimentation trope and says MC is blank after 4 chapters where he conveniently stops reading just at the start of his first character development. For extra entertainment, I will be uploading chapters two at a time and compose a relevant poem through the chapter names. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Tale of an Anomaly
It was supposed to be a normal weekend, staying a little bit longer in bed, not worrying about work, spending quality family time, or partying late night for some people and hoping to get a little lucky. Then why the hell were half the buildings disappearing right in front of them? What was the big message in the sky supposed to mean? And why the fuck was there a dragon in the middle of the city?! Follow Bharat, an ordinary freelancer out for a job, who, after getting caught up in an unfortunate series of events finds himself all alone in a forest full of dangerous creatures out for his blood, along with a strange screen in front of him that felt awfully similar to the games he used to play and the books he used to read as a kid. Maybe his countless hours of gaming weren’t useless after all! Release Schedule: 4 days a week About the author: Just an amateur writer from India who started writing as hobby during quarantine. English is not my native language, so any kind of feedback is most welcome. Don’t take the tags and warnings too seriously though. It’s just to prevent flames later, just in case.

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?
