Background chapter Lucy
I don’t remember much of my first life as a damned; the little things I do remember are, for the most part, simple. I remember things like the name of my best friend, shandra, or shany among friends, my race, I was a gnome, and my favorite food, a type of meat pie the local baker sold. I can’t remember things like my name, my family, or my favorite color. There is, however, one memory that burns strong to this day, the day I signed that damned contract.
Shany and I had stopped at the bakery to pick up dinner for a little get together among our friends on our way back from magic practice, shany was incredibly talented at it while I was rather mediocre, I didn’t care much as I enjoyed learning magic. What happened next was a blur to me, something attacked my small town, I think it was bombed, and the next thing I remember was lying face down looking at the corpse of my best friend, while I myself lay dying. Then he came, I never got a good look at him but I can still remember his voice, he had a weak oriental accent and deep voice, giving him the impression of being much bigger than he actually was. He made me an offer, the ability to become powerful in another life. Naturally I accepted, I thought that it couldn’t hurt, but I didn’t realize till two days later when I finally died how wrong I was.
I then spent what felt close to three eternities, which was actually closer to three decades, in the most boring place ever conceived, the void. When I finally got out I found myself possessing the body an old man, it was strange because I had some memories from that man, bits and pieces, nothing too important, but one thing was certain, this wasn’t the same world I was from.

As I latter found out I was in the body of the recently deceased head of an aristocratic family in a small country known as fish port, who’s chief export was, you guessed it, fish. It was one of five countries at the time on the Rosiare continent, one of twelve in this world. This life was rather boring, I was basically a butler, and the only really interesting part was my death. A raid on the family’s manor a century after I was raised.
The next life was a little more interesting, I had become something known as a half lich and I was the servant of a woman who was absolutely obsessed with discovering the inner workings of magic, I was one of ten successful half-liche’s. In that life I learned many secrets about magic, only to have it all stolen away from me at the end. The woman made a breakthrough and something began to happen, it was hard to explain but it looked like she had started to de-evolve, and apparently she was some sort of monster as she stopped at a goblin, all the while ranting about something called origin and about some great magic. At this moment my life force, along with the life force of the other half-liche’s. She then began to de-evolve again, only to have what I can only describe as the world fight back against it. Eventually she couldn’t remain stable and started to evolve into another creature, something that looks like a small fungus, only to have her resist even stronger resulting in an explosion, killing me and I assume everyone else. By the time I woke up in the abyss I realize that I had forgotten almost everything I had learned about magic.
The next life was rather short; I don’t remember much of anything from it.

My fourth life is one you already know about.
After a century in the abyss after that one I decided to sign a temporary contract with a dungeon, just a short one lasting twelve years. It was interesting, I put some of the magic skills I learned in my last life to use and had fun with myself, I was almost sad when it was over, almost, the dungeons personality was an asshole. So I decide to sign a slightly longer one with a different dungeon, big mistake. I ended up literally working myself to the bones constantly for thirty years.
The next life I worked as a maid for a well off family, only to burn to death at the end.
In the most recent, and shortest, life I was the servant of a mad man who was bent on world domination. He failed miserably.
And the rest, as they say, is history.

the reason i took so long on this one was it was hard to get inspired. also for a side note i think this world needs a name, i cant think of a good one that would suit this world. if i see an idea i like i just might use it.
