chapter 33
"alright, what's the difference between archaic and arcane spells?" asmodeus
"archaic, also known as primal, spells are simpler, meaning they are easier and faster to cast, they also have a much greater potential for power while also being much more dangerous for the caster. arcane has many safeguards preventing the caster from getting injured, but that makes it more complex, relying more on arias, magic circles, and tools, causing them to take more time and be weaker." jack
"excellent. although it is called archaic, any development in magic that isn't creating a new aria, magic circle, or magic tool is archaic magic. now what type of magic am i going to be teaching you?" asmodeus
"primal" jack
"why?" asmodeus
"because it offers much more freedom when casting" jack
"correct. why bother memorising all of those stupid arias when you can make fire dance around your hands with a thought, or create thousands of undead just by willing them to serve you?" asmodeus
"i honestly don't know" jack
"neither do i. a true mage is someone who takes risks for the sake of learning any little thing they can, i once met a mage that intentionally killed themselves several times just to improve resurrection magic." asmodeus
"wow, i don't know how to respond to that." jack
"i didn't know how to respond either, i kept begging my sister to stop but she keep saying that she was on the verge of a breakthrough. it fucking terrified me."asmodeus
at that moment lilith bust through the door, crying.
"ghost and johanna told me everything! why haven't you made me into one of your pets yet?!" lilith
at that moment asmodeus turns around, and just stares, shocked. after a couple seconds he starts crying. lilith is equally shocked when she sees asmodeus's face.

"you look just like my dead wife" asmodeus
"great-grandpa?" lillith
"my wife, lilith, she died during an assault on the capital during the last great crusade. i had one child before she died. i-" asmodeus
"your rambling" jack
"sorry." asmodeus
"are you asmodeus? you look just like the paintings i had seen in my grandmother's house, she thought you were dead."
lilith
"does the name lilith run in the family or something?" jack
"it is customary for my family to give their eldest the name lilith." lilith
"yes, i'm asmodeus. your great grandpa." asmodeus
"this has been a lovely, touching family reunion." jack
"i'm sorry, i forgot that you had a less than desirable reunion with your mother." lilith
"it's fine, i just said that to advance the story that otherwise would have just stayed at you two staring at each other for a
long time" jack
skill obtained: breaking the fourth wall
'the fuck?' jack
"you wanted me to tame you, right?" jack
"yes!" lilith
"alright" jack
'tame' jack
are you sure you want to attempt to tame lilith the greater succubus? bonus from taming related skills= 15%
bonus from luck= 1.5% total chance of taming, including the emotions of the target= 100% chance of success. if you fail the target may turn hostile.
'thats new, probably part of a recent update. yes' jack
congratulations! you have tamed lilith, the greater succubus. total # of creatures tamed= 4
i assume lilith got a similar notice as she starts to blush.
"reading this is really erotic" lilith
yup, it is the day before the night of the full moon alright.
"oh yeah, was it your wolf that howled the other night?" asmodeus
"yeah, why?" jack
"i got gang raped by a pack of wolves because of it." asmodeus

"ah, the silver triplets. quite a formidable opponent, their team work is amazing, their individual skill rivals that of most people here." jack
"and they are quite tasty." lilith
after a couple seconds of silence lilith speaks up again.
"what?! a girls gotta eat, and you weren't exactly close so i had to settle for what was available." lilith
at around that time the other 3 walk in the room silently, unnoticed by the other 2.
"why didn't you go with your husband then?" asmodeus
"how could you tell jack was my husband?" lilith
"i just put the pieces together, after all there is only one way that i know of to be completely immune to charm magic. i
approve by the way, jack is a great man. anyway, answer the question." asmodeus
"apparently not everyone agrees with you about jack. i got put under something similar to house arrest for 6 years." lilith
"when does that end, i forgot" johanna
"next month, then i will be free to explore the world with you." lilith
"i can't believe it's almost been 6 years since that time." jack
"what did you do?" asmodeus
"it's not something i feel comfortable telling my great grandpa" lilith
he snorts before responding with 'fine'.
"how long have we been studying?" jack
"a couple hours?" asmodeus
"it's lunch time." lucy
"lets go eat then." jack
we make our way to the dining room where mary was laying out food, i can't help but look sadly at her black fingernails and white hair. if only i'd been a little faster that day then i might have been able to prevented that whole situation.
"foods ready, it's chicken sandwiches." mary
we eat mostly in silence. at least on the surface, inside me and my pets are talking via telepathy.
'so, what happened for you to get stuck in this place for 6 years?' lucy
'tell us.' ghost
'during my rite of passage i raped the chief's heir' lilith
'ahh.' lucy
'right of passage?' ghost
'when a succubus or incubus reaches sexual maturity they have to prove to their parent that they can get food on their own without help, before that they drink from their mothers breasts' johanna
'oh, so who is the chief's heir, he sounds like someone really strong to be able to inherit this place' ghost
'of course i'm strong' jack
when lilith and i first met, i was about about 9 years old and, as succubi grow about 3-4 times as fast as humans till they reach sexual maturity, she was three. i didn't even try to resist because i was really confused, i didn't realise what was happening till after it was over. that event led to a lot of changes in my life, including a succubus wife. the other changes i'm not going to into at this time. immediately afterward she was caught and her punishment was not being able to leave the village boundaries for 6 years. i explain the story to both lucy and ghost with some help from lilith.
'i'll be honest, at first i didn't like lilith very much.' johanna
'that's an understatement, you hated me, i've never seen someone so jelas in my life.' lilith
'but that was before i realized i was bi.'johanna
"you four all seem deep in thought." mary
at around that time lunch was over, so i decided to go experiment with psychological magic outside on passing
pedestrians.
end chapter 33
i need help thinking of a good name for a female snake, if you have a suggestion put it in the comments.
also, what does everyone think about lilith

Can he make it, or will he be brought down by the darkness inside of him? Cover by Novissimus. Authors Note: Hey guys, thank you for taking the time to look this over. As this is my first work of any sort of writing, I would love it if you can give me any feedback you can think of. Hit me hard and hit me often, so I can make it better for everyone. Thank you! Authors Note #2. Some of the wonderful people reading this horrible attempt at literature have reviewed the Main Character as an unlikable a**hole that thinks everything is stupid or idiotic, while others have reviewed the Main Character as realistic and sarcastic. As the author, I think that both of these points are true, and if you, the reader, feel like you won't enjoy the MC being these things in your story, then it might be that this fiction is not for you. But if it is, then I welcome you with open arms. Thank you for your time.

The Harrowbird's Crown
(Formerly: Tales of a Harrowed House) Synopsis: This is the tale of an exiled royal family who, after their bloody reunion on the island of Providence, return to a war-torn homeland where once more, powerful forces pit sibling against sibling in a bid for the crown — and once more, the magical streets of Auctor echo their infamous motto: “Fire will Reign as Harrowbirds Soar!” From his humble beginnings as a shoemaker’s son, his year spent as a daringly brazen orphan caught between rivaling Houses and a mad ghost, and his fight for the crown after his return to Auctor, Corbyn faces a coming-of-age story unlike any before him as he discovers magic and birthright are two things he never knew he had. From the intimate narrative of a childhood that was never her own, her year spent struggling to find the person she is rather than the person her family needs her to be, the secrets she hides, and the truths she finds, Halle discovers herself on the fabled island of Providence as her House collapses around her, bids to enter a legendary school of magic in her homeland of Auctor, and fights for a crown she never knew she wanted. A high-action, character-focused story written with a poet’s styling, The Harrowbird’s Crown is a tale that will transport readers into the conflict and conquest of a royal family back on the rise. General Information: This story is more traditionally plotted. While the beginning may seem to start out slowly, when shit hits the fan: the action is constant, the mysteries are satisfying, and the character development is rewarding. Chapters are usually between 2.5-3.5 thousand words (though some, like the first and second chapters, can run up to 5k words). When it’s long it means that the chapter will just have that much content in it. There’s Action, Mystery, Fantasy, Comedy, and some Psychological undertakings. Romance hasn’t come up yet, but it may in future chapters. I try to have chapters out every Sunday at 7:00 CST Book One: The Ghost of Providence

Path of the Ancients
When humans with the ability to control the fundamental particles of the universe with their minds were first discovered, the age of space travel began in earnest. Relativistic travel faster than the speed of light became possible and humanity moved out into the stars. When it was discovered that these Mages could be turned into effective weapons, humanity turned back to its oldest pastime of war. Hundreds of years later as humanity was on the brink of self-destruction, with its taste for war finally beginning to wane, a new organization was created. The Conclave was formed to regulate all Mage’s within the human colonies. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. As the old saying goes, ‘Power Corrupts’, and many people were unhappy with the way the Conclave had been leveraging its authority, not the least of which were the Mages they controlled. One unregistered illegal Mage by the name of Tyrial had made it his life's mission to dismantle the Conclave at any cost. After spending decades working towards his goals alone, he realized he would need the aid of willing allies in his crusade. Tyrial would need all the help he could get learning to work with others, dealing with his own dark past, and handling unfamiliar feelings of romantic interest. Content Warning Note: They are there to cover my behind. I honestly hesitated to put them there at all but I figured better safe than sorry. Gore in particular barely applies and the sexual content amounts to light Cinemax style at best. But, at least now you can’t say I didn’t warn you. POSTED: Currently, this story is being posted to RoyalRoad and ScribbleHub. If you see this story posted anywhere else, please report it to the user "Tyrial" on either of the aforementioned sites. Thanks!
