《Building a World From the Ground Up》The Guardians

I am rudely interrupted from my nap by Menu playing an annoying noise. I mentally roll over and swat at it. Then I realize I asked it to wake me when something interesting happens, and I sit up. The Menu immediately tells me what's new.

[The first Semi-Sapient creature has been created. It now can use slow and basic thought processes, beyond ambushes and fighting.]

Ah, so where is it?

[The Two-Tailed Fox is in your Glade.]

I focus on the strongest itch, and find myself pulled barely West, away from the World Tree of Water, which is at nearly the most Northern Point, at the top of the world.

The Fox seems to be within the Blessed Glade. This… may be a problem. Now that I am not in a haze of sleepiness, I realize that I have not Blessed the rest of the world, which may not give enough power to allow Beasts to become Semi-Sentients.

Though, I should call them something else. Perhaps Magic Beasts? The Fox seems to know how to use the power Blessings bestow upon the land, as the only way to really get better is to use Blessings. This is a major oversight. If I cast a Minor Blessing on the rest of the world, beasts should evolve.

There isn’t much on this island of crystal. The only animals here are ones that are small, and that I considered to have very good potential, as well as look minorly cute. I have sight, after all, let me use it.

I come to the place where the Fox is. It is a white, pale as bone. It seems to have just fought something. It looks up, sensing me with the power it used to evolve. As the Will of my body, I can perfectly control the earth, water, fire, and air in this land. I am the planet, and therefore everything is me.

The Fox looks up, growling weakly, as it is currently the only even Semi-Sapient, and the only thing able to sense and therefore know about me. Someday, I will likely be revered as God. I suppose I am one.

I look at the Fox, and decide that I will need a Guardian for my Glade. The Fox will stop creatures from overhunting, and will maintain the balance when I cannot. For now, however, the Fox must be healed.

I wash my Blessing power over the Fox. It’s wounds are healed at a fast rate, visible to the eye. When I know it won’t just bleed out on the ground, I take back my Blessing, and Curl it around, forcing it to become more potent, and able to be bestowed upon a creature.

I flow the power through the Fox. It begins growing, it-no, her fur taking on a shade of light pink, just like the Cherry Trees. A third tail sprouts from her behind, and she begins to gain more lean muscle, her power evident. She becomes lean, powerful, and beautiful.

I decree that this Fox, Sakura, now the first Magic Beast, will protect the Blessed Glade. She will balance unbalanced parts of the Biome, and allow creatures to flourish. She will be the Guardian of Change, flowing and everchanging like water.

I spread out my blessing, changing a Willow Tree on a faraway mountain to the World Tree of Air, and an Oak Tree in a deep valley the the World Tree of Earth. I can feel beasts changing quickly in the supercharged Auras of the Trees, quickly growing into each Tree's respective Guardian.

I balance the Guardians, making them the same level of power, and make the trees their own Blessed Glades, beautiful in their own way. My Blessing bursts through the Earth, sings through the Air, flows through the Water, flickers in the Fire.

As it weakens from being separate from me, I call it something new. Mana. The Mana is what Magical Beasts wield. It is their ace in the hole, their final power, but used very often.

I lift my Blessings to a Crescendo, the Gorilla of Earth, Earl, beating his hands to his chest, hooting at the Sky, the Great Hawk of Air, Aerth, flies in a circle, cawing at nothing, the Wolf of Flames, Flare, howls at the Moon, and the Fox of Water, Sakura, yips at my Blessed Figue in front of her.

Many beings mutated, gaining awareness, and joined in on the noise. Even the unsensitive Animals and Beasts joined. I had no doubt that the Guardians would become greater, but they would die one day; on that, new Guardians would take their place, and weep.

The evolved Semi-Sentients were nowhere near their true potential, but they needed to evolve themselves, next time. This time was simply a boost, a bump up in power of the beasts so close to comprehending they would likely evolve within the week.

I decided I could not show favoritism, as there were 4 Blessed Glades. I would make a standalone island, in the middle of the sea, and plant all kinds of flowers. It would be a large field of flowers, with little to no trees.

I floated to the Middle of the World. It was a large lake. I drew Up some land, and made fields of flowers, with no more flowers of one land than another. I made sure to bring in some flowers not within a Blessed Glade, as well.

I reached the middle of the island. I decided this would be where I grew It. The True World Tree. I had unlocked it after the Great Blessing. This would be the perfect place to put it.

I planted the Tree. It grew massively immediately, yet was still in its development phase. I sat in it’s boughs, relaxing, as I told Menu to wake me when a True Sapient made its first Technological Development, or, if nothing had happened for a while, to wake me when a True Sapient was evolved into. Then, I drifted into the claws of sleep, waiting for the Menu to wake me once more.
