《Transient Fire Works》Prologue to Chapter 28: Getting ready to meet her parents

By eight o clock, I read a couple of documents on Meracle and her family. When I finished, I went out of Mammon’s place. ‘Though I would like to get my vengeance quickly, I like to get it all at once.’
I did not want to bother Mammon any further because I had what I wanted. ‘I think I got an idea who Ophelia’s boyfriend is… and he sure is unlucky to meet me heh heh.’
I also got the gist of Meracle and her family within the light information I read. Seems like there was also some things that caused the great conflict between Meracle and her family. Jason was only part of the problem that led Meracle to be kicked out.
Jin took some money out of the suitcases he had in Mammon’s place before he left. So, with money in hand, he walked into the nearest fashion store.
“Wel-” The receptionist came up and was about to welcome Jin. Her eyes teared up once she noticed that he was naked. ‘I don’t know if I should kick this man out… He is handsome… Yet he is also naked.’
“Sorry about how I look right now.” Jin lightly laughs. “I’m… a little unfortunate right now. So I need something good to wear. Care to recommend something good? Expensive or not, I’ll buy.” Jin presented the bills in his hands to show that he was not bluffing.
With money being involved, who don’t change expressions? Jin was currently carrying 100,000 D in his hands. “R-Right this way sir!”
Jin also went to many other stores before going back to Meracle and the others. “Imma prepared a big surprise for her.”
Back in Rosa’s mansion….
The four were already awake and every one of them were in a fenzy.
“Where did he go!?” They were screaming to the top of their lungs in search of the little boy. They searched from daybreak till noon and still had no signs of him. The four resigned and fell to their knees.
“Oh… Jin is going to kill us…” Rosa muttered in despair.
“Who is going to kill who?” A familiar voice said as he enters Rosa’s room. “Ban left a while ago with his family.”
“!!! Jin!” All the girls turned their attentions and focused on the source of the voice.
A man wearing a golden hanfu patterned with the four spiritual animals of the Asian culture stood tall and proud in front of them. From the right shoulder was the azure dragon Meng Zhang of the east coiling down to the sleeves, holding a calm demeanor and a noble air behind those shining blue eyes. On his left shoulder down was the mythical white tiger stretching its body down to the sleeve with one paw prepared to bring judgment unto evil. On the front of the hanfu was the black tortoise Genbu of the north with the snake wrapped around his body. Lastly, on Jin’s back was the bird of fire, the phoenix Suzaku of the south with its wings spread out ready to take flight.

The four girls were completely speechless. Not because the hanfu he was wearing was so amazing. It was because he was wearing the beautiful hanfu while carrying a four hot pink duffle bags behind his back.
Gisela asked with a look of disgust. “What are you wearing on you? Why the pink duffle bag. Why wear that when it’s near winter? I do dig the hot pink colors.”
Jin toss aside the duffle bags into a corner and spun around to flaunt the hanfu. “Oh? Can’t recognize a hanfu from the eastern asian culture? Pretty warm if you ask me. I made sure I wore a few extra layers underneath. As for the pink duffle bags… I like pink… What’s wrong with that?”
“. . . Nothing. But, are you going to visit my parents in that?”
“What’s wrong with what I’m wearing Meracle? It’s part of my culture.”
“B-but my parents are catholic… and great believers…”
“Oh… Worried about culture conflicts? Don’t worry a thing. I’m sure they’ll love the surprise I’ve prepared for them.”
“It is something you cannot resolve with a surprise Jin. It’s one of those ass kissing to the religion thing. I know because I was drilled with it as well by my parent.” Rosa said. “Though I broke away from it, the religion was drilled deep into my mind. Seriously, during the depression, the occults grew stronger and stronger. Some of them still have influences to this day.”
“Power abusing cults? Great fanatics? Then all I need is to bring forth a real Meracle. Then they’ll see the light!” Jin tried to play a pun on the name. But Meracle was not too happy to hear the pun. “*Cough* Sorry… Can’t blame me for trying.”
“I’m still not going. Now, I have one more reason to not go Jin.”
A vein popped up on Jin’s head. “Ha ha… I said I was sorry Meracle.”
“Nope. Not going.”
“You will go.”
“No I won’t.”
“Yes you will.”
“No I won’t.”
“You will. You will. You definitely will go.”
“No. No. No. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand no.”
‘This girl really wants to make all my efforts to be in vain.’ The vein grew bigger and almost visible on his head. “Meracle.”
“What…” Meracle acted grumpy and shifted her eyes away.
Jin came close to her ears to whisper a few secret words. In no less than three seconds, Meracle’s face paled. ‘Y-you dare to blackmail me!?”
“Mhm. What do I not dare to do?” Jin’s face all of a sudden became shiny and wore a smile that ran from ear to ear.
“Y-y-you’re not as innocent as I’d thought! You’re a devil in human skin!”
“Aha ha ha ha ha! I’m only giving you a few choices Meracle. Run away right now and that family bond may never be repaired. Ooooooor…. Follow me. Take a few chances. By the end, I’ll make sure to make your family a bit more whole again.” Jin sweetly smiled. It was the business smile he would wear when he was making a transaction. But worse, this was the smile when he knew that he won the transaction and when it was going all his way and the other side had no chance to begin with.

Meracle frowned at the evil person in front of her. She was only left with one choice and the devil would not let her go any other way. It was only now that she discovers what a devil Jin was. She sighed within her heart, ‘Why do I always meet bad boys… Why can’t I ever meet a regular or good person…’
Jin looked at her face and giggled a bit. “Because Meracle, you have bad luck.”
“!? Did you just read my mind?”
“Ha ha! Who knows~” Jin rocked his head from side to side. ‘I was actually just making up things. Looks like I hit the target on the head.’
“!!! I’m not going then!”
“Yes you will Meracle.”
“No!”
“Yes~”
“No I won’t! I don’t care even if you reveal it anymore!”
“*sigh* Yes you will.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No”
“Yes”
“No”
“Yes”
The two stared each other down as their words gets more aggressive.
The bystanders were just watching with the occasion with going to the kitchen to grab something to eat like a banana or an apple. They even went to Rosa’s bathroom to get themselves ready for the day.
“Hey Rosa, today is also a holiday right? Something about prelude to the seven holy frosty days in some cultures right?” Mirana asked her.
“Mhm. But I still got work Miri.”
“… Why aren’t you going now Rosa?”
“Mmmm Because I can just lie to my uncle and dad saying that I found the guy and was trying to convince him to come back.”
“… Mischievous as always Rosa?”
“You bet.”
For about an hour straight, Meracle kept on refusing while Jin kept on pursuing. ‘Alright Meracle. Let’s see if you can refuse after this!’
“No I won’t!”
“Yes you will!”
“No I won’t!”
“Yes you will!”
“No I won’t!”
“Yes you will!”
“No I won’t!”
“Yes you will!”
“No I won’t!”
“No you won’t!”
“Yes I will!*GASP!*”
“Gotcha Meracle.” The devil smiled at her.
“T-that’s not fair! I want a rematch!”
“Nope! Now, you’re coming with me whether you like it or not!” Jin lifted Meracle up into his arm in a princess carry hold and ran out the door. “Rosa! Mirana! Don’t look in the bags!”
Both Mirana and Rosa was left behind just like that. “… Don’t look he said… Like we’ll listen to such logic. Come one Miri, let’s see what is inside.” Rosa went over to the duffle bags and grabbed one.
“Mmmm Nope. Remember what happened last time Rosa?”
Now that Mirana reminded her, she recalled that the things inside were not what they seemed to be and that Jin was good at hiding things. “You’re right. We should just let these be…”
I ran all the way back to Meracle's house with her in my arms. "Come on Meracle. Let's get dressed up and go."
"D-Did you just carry me and run all the way back here?"
"Uh... Yeah?" I really did not know why she looked so shocked.
"When were you so strong?”
‘*Ack!* Shi…. Been Belphegor too long…’ I didn’t want to say that I gotten pretty strong after my junior year. “Uh... I uh….”
Meracle eyed me closely. “What are you hiding? In fact, how long have you been hiding this fact? I know Mirana told me how strong you are. But she never said for how long you were this strong.”
‘Oh shi- Oh shi- Oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii- Wait… I could just laugh it off…’
“Don’t pretend either! Don’t you dare shake it off like all the other people I’ve dated Jin!” Meracle got very close to my face this time to show that she was serious.
‘…. Fffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggg’ I was thinking of a way to change the subject and it had to be a good one. ‘Wait… did she just say that she dated other people?’ A smile curved up on my face because I now know a way out of this small predicament. “How many people did you date?”
Meracle’s eyes lit up in surprise and took a few steps back once Jin asked her the question. ‘Damn… that was a slip of tongue.’
“Hm? Well? Care to explain it to me Meracle?”
“!!! That’s not the point!”
Jin did not want to argue the entire day just to hide one little unneeded secret. “*Sigh* Okay… I’ll tell you after today. Alright? But can we leave things at this Meracle? We are going to meet you parents today aren't we?”
“… You’re gonna tell me all your secrets one day Jin. Now, I know you cannot pretend to be weak anymore!” Meracle gave him another grumpy look before going in to get really dressed to meet her family again.
‘… ha ha… You’re gonna find out in five years if you are lucky Meracle.’

A Sith? During The Fall
Darth Zaros was the Empire’s Wrath; the greatest Sith Warrior and a man feared across the galaxy. He was also just my Old Republic game character until I somehow woke up as him. If that wasn’t bad enough, I was sent thousands of years into the future to the eve of the Great Jedi Purge. Alone and surrounded by enemies, can Zaros survive long enough to figure out how he got there? Can he ever find his way back? Follow along as Zaros uses his powers and more importantly, the knowledge of a fan, to navigate his way through a dangerous Universe. I'm working with a mixture of canon and legends stuff. If it hasn't been written over in canon then it will probably be free game. Because I’m reconciling various different sources, power levels won’t be blown out of proportion to the point that force users become the only relevant people in the Galaxy. I added the gore tag just in case. This is Star Wars, so there won’t be any needless blood spatters, but lightsaber duels often end with some body part cut off.

Cinder Roots (Undergoing a Rewrite)
This novel is currently undergoing a major rewrite, as I noticed several plot points that needed to be revamped. I'll leave the chapters I've posted here to anyone curious to see how everything started, but I'll be posting the rewritten story as a new novel in the future. The characters will be the same, but the journey will be more understandable and hopefully, a lot more fun to read. -------- First, everything was fire, it killed, it consumed, and it gave him life. He was just a tree, born in the biggest forest that remained in the world, full of dryads, naiads, elves and treants, but he was alone. He couldn’t see. He couldn’t talk. Curiosity plagued him. He dreamed of wandering the land, but could only wonder what stood outside the reach of his roots. The tree was tired of waiting. He decided to not just dream, but to act. How could he survive against a invading empire, a grand conspiracy that threatened to shake the foundations of the world, and the raw danger that lies within these woods? With pure determination. Warning - There are quite a few POV changes in the first chapters, but that'll change after the introduction is done, as I'll be focusing on the MC perspective only.
