Although from Jin’s point of view, it sounded like he was the short end of the stick. But that was not the case. In truth, each female candidates had an interest in Jin more than the other male candidates.
Why did they have more interest in him than Akira or Kyle?
For Gisela, she had an ominous feeling that she’d met him before and that he gave off a mysterious aura of a stoic and dark knight. His appearance may’ve changed a little due to the hair but she wanted to believe that he was the savior she met not too long ago.
For Rosa, her women intuitions were usually right when she gets a strange feeling. She felt that the masked man was also her savior. She still remembers the young man’s cavalier attitude when he was in the hospital. Even though he still had half a mask on the entire time he was in the hospital, she felt that it was him. After all, she could still feel the presence of the warm air that was blown in her ear.
For Mirana, she had reasons of her own. For the most part, the masked man reminded her of someone from her high school years. Many people had no guts to confess to her and spineless people can be seen everywhere. But there was one gutless person that caught her eye. He never really did talk to her much nor interact with her. By the end of her high school year, she wanted to have one last talk with him. But he died standing and so she never had a chance. But the person in front of her gave off the feeling that he was one in the same with the person who died recently. So she took her chances.

Meracle, herself had her reasons to be here and not to just be a third wheel. In her heart, Jin became someone more than an old friend whom she and he just remembered though her memories of him wasn’t that clear. All she knew that they were once friends but never knew why. To her, it was more of an unofficial date that she wished to keep him all to herself and thus sat right next to him even when Gisela came over. But in her mind, she still remembers her old lover so she kept silent the entire time.
So why did the girls talked more about Akira than Jin? Their real purpose was to fool each other. So they kept the façade of being a nice friend to each other with the intentions of pairing up with Jin. They all acted nice and said things so that the others would be more focused on Akira than Jin. But their acting was terrible in the eyes of their friends so they really can’t hide much from each other. Therefore, it took a while for them to decide. Meracle, overhearing their acts almost laughed but held it in for her friends.
Kyle and Akira was also a bit dense. Kyle was overly depressed because they talked more about Akira than him. But he didn’t even realize that the entire popularity contest talk was just an act. Akira himself was more nonchalant and didn’t care whom he get with. The only reason why he was here is because Kyle dragged him to find himself a girl. He was about to leave until Gisela came in and enticed him with her natural hourglass curves. Kyle was more or less the same.
Jin, who was oblivious to their intentions and denser than a rock, believed that they wanted Akira and felt slightly depressed in his heart. In his mind, Akira was an ideal person whom might be popular with people who wants to live a comfortable life and Kyle is one of those stoic cool looking person who just might make other people’s lives more exciting. But he was not jealous. He never truly liked a girl in his life so depression comes and goes for him. At best he had a crush on some women. Jin always had a pessimistic view of himself no matter how good he looked. Through this way, he did not over value himself but always undervalue his face and therefore is bad with meeting with people on a more personal level.

When Jin came up with the suggestion, they all reached the same conclusion. Through this way, they can all test whether their intuitions were right or wrong. The very first person to test Jin was Mirana and she was ecstatic even though she did not show it.
They all paired up with their partners and sat next to them. Rosa and Gisela was slightly anxious to pair up with Jin but they could not ignore their partner either. But they closely watched Jin and Mirana chat for the next fifteen minutes.
During those fifteen minutes, Mirana bombarded Jin with a lot of questions. But no matter how much she pries, Jin would always answer them in an ambiguous way. For example, she asks him, “Which high school did you go to?” and he would answer, “My neighborhood high school”. Another example is when she asks him, “Where is it located?” and he would answer, “Near my house just a few blocks down”. But her last questions were, “What was the school name and did you have a crush on anyone in the school?” and his response was, “rich and strong kids bullying the poor kids. As for my crush, she is as beautiful and charming as you Mirana” which was off the chart. The last line made her blushed a little and made her end the conversation even though none of her questions were really answered. She was used to compliments but his words sounded strange and yet compared to the past compliments and praises about her, she felt more from his words than the other people she’d met and was lost in a daze. Jin thought he’d said something wrong to end the conversation on a wrong note but didn’t know that she was blushing right in front of him for five minutes straight.
The girls hearing these words felt sick to their stomach and slightly lost interest in Jin and thought that he was one of those high school playboys. Even Meracle felt a little sick. But he was only speaking what was on his mind and made things as ambiguous as he could. After all, who would believe that a dead man came back? He also have to hide things because he was afraid that they might find out. Gisela and Rosa was a few of his old school bullies and he would not let them find out.
“Hey guys. Why don’t we play a game!?” Kyle suddenly blurted out.

A blue marble floated in the unending void. On that marble, billions went about their lives, unaware that somewhere else, something had changed. Some requirement was met, and suddenly, a new type of energy saturated the universe. A mother closed her car's door and lifted a bag of groceries in an arm before vanishing into nothingness. Across the world, a teenager disappeared mid-word from a conversation with friends. In eastern America, Captain Octavius J. Asher of the US Army vanished from a mountain trail with no witnesses. People all over the Earth disappeared simultaneously. Such a thing would normally cause mass panic across the globe were it not for the fact that there wasn't a single person left on the globe to panic. Congratulations! Your universe has joined the System. Note: I wanted to read another litrpg apocalypse novel but couldn't find one. Thus, I decided to write one. The MC will be strong for a human but insignificant on a cosmic scale. No destroying worlds with a spell on chapter 25 in this novel. He will face challenges and be forced to make hard decisions. This serial now on hiatus for the time being :( Please rate and review. Constructive criticism is welcome!
