《I'm clueless in another world.》Chapter 8

After scavenging some of the goblin's weapon, I took everything that had the less rust on it, it wasn't but I managed to get one pretty clean knife around the size of a kitchen knife a wooden slingshot and two small leather satchels slightly bigger than my palm filled with stones, the stones were kinda useless but at least I didn't need to gather the stones, anyhow the amount on the first satchel was enough, as for the second one, I emptied it and let Natsuna took the satchel.
Moving away from the goblin graveyard, I was wondering and asking Natsuna how she could tell me the goblin incoming attack. My best guess she was using a skill, but when?
"Oh, I only said it in my mind." Said Natsuna.
That was all? I never tried to use it that way though.
...
Wait, then all this time I was doing an unnecessary shout?! I stopped my walk and plainly staring at her.
"...You should've told me about that." I said. "I mean, it's kinda no It's really embarrassing to shout things like that in front of other people, no even when I am alone it is embarrassing."
Eight grade me would think that was cool and awesome though.
"Hm~ I thought you already know. After all, Tsukasa kinda sounded a little happy when shouting the skill name." Natsuna happily made a grin to me, showing off a little bit of her teeth.
It seemed some part of my chuuni still lingering around.
"But I found it pretty cool, it almost feels we are a superhero in a Sunday morning tv show." Said Natsuna.
She did say that with a warm smile, but if she found it cool then why didn't she shout it out?!
Anyway, l didn't know why but I kinda felt I would give her some unnecessary embarrassing information.
"Do you watch it?" Said Natsuna. "I like the newest one, the red mask seems really cool. You know the 'It is Opium time! Rose charge ready! Strengthen! Unleash the power!' "
And there she was, bluntly stated her mind and clumsily practising the red mask pose, even though she was a year older than me, while I thought it was embarrassing to watch a kid tv show.

But seeing her expression and pose, kinda infected me with her happiness and made me smiled.
Huh?
"Wait, wait, wait a minute." I tilted my head as I tried to figure out how she could know the pose and how the hell she could like a tv show. I kinda want to ask that but... would that be a rude one? Truthfully I still didn't know how I should act when I was with her.
"Hm~ what?" Asked Natsuna. Meanwhile, Iddy was sucked into a small space, seemingly the time was over.
"Erm... sorry... I don't want to sound rude, but how can you do the pose? and how do you know the story?!"
"Hm~ as I knew Tsukasa must be watching it too." She said. "But, if you're curious my sister sometimes helping me moving my body and matching it with the pose, and do you see my red hair? she's also the one that painted it for me." She said as she was fiddling with her hair.
Oh... it wasn't a natural one huh. Well, her eyebrows were indeed had a dark brown colour.
"As for the story, I have a vague idea. But I only follow the show because of their catchphrase. Then again, the red mask from this series has a cool raspy voice, though I still like the red mask voice from the fourth series."
"Hoo..."
I rubbed my chin, this was a new insight for me, then again maybe it was normal for her to like and remember their voices.
"Hm?" Said Natsuna.
Even though she had a calm expression and somewhat mature upbringing, I guessed everyone still had their own unique hobby huh.
"Forgive me, but am I making you bored?" She said as she gave me this wry smile.
"O..oh..sorry. I was lost in my own thought." I said. "Please continue, I kinda find it fascinating though."
And somehow we could talk nonstop as we walked through the savanna, the topic? Everything from the anime, books, music, food, did she believe in ghost and...
"I kinda wonder, you said you are blind from a birth, right? then how do you perceive a colour?"
"Hm? A colour? Let's see..." She said as she rubbed her chin. "Truthfully, I don't actually have any concept about a colour."

"But I do know it from the vocabulary, though it might be doesn't have anything to do with me." She said. "Hm~ let's see... then Tsukasa, what do you think I see right now?"
"Pitch black?"
"Hm~ is that so? how can you be so sure?" She said. "I could be seeing red, or blue, or yellow right now. But in the end, I just don't and can't understand it."
"I mean, I do know the general idea about a colour. Let's say it is red. People say red is fire, strawberry is red, apple is red, blood is red. But in the end it is a vague and abstract thing for me, so what's red? is it hot like a fire? sour like a strawberry? hard like an apple? or important like a blood?"
"...But it such a shame, isn't it?" She continued. "I did feel I was seeing something when I used detect magic. *Sigh* if only Tsukasa have this skill maybe you can describe it to me."
As she was explaining all of it, I faithfully listened to her and nodded.
Huh?
Was I missing something? I felt like I had some kind of an idea crossed my mind.
"Hm~ are you still listening?"
"Ah, yes sorry. I was replying you with a nod the whole time."
But what was my idea?
....
"AH!!" Just as I shouted, I could see Natsuna startled face while several slimes were bouncing away from the grasses. "But we do have a same skill, you know, Insight."
And this might be a good experiment too.
"Wait here for a moment."
I said as I ran, looking around, searching for some monsters.
Several minutes later I came back with a slime and a horn rabbit. "Here, use insight at them."
I didn't know if it was right but she faithfully used Insight at them. "How about it? see something?"
"Hm~ maybe, I don't know how to explain this but I guess they are different?" Said Natsuna, seemed like she had an Idea of what we're going to do.
"Different huh? Well, it must be grey and purple. I might be wrong though."
We sat down and I kinda explaining to her, "So the first is the slime, the same kind that we take our drink from. Anyway, if we're doing it right, it should be 'grey'. The second one is the horn rabbit, I'm not exactly sure about this, but as far as I know, since you said they have a different colour, it should be a 'purple'. Sorry, but for me I see the horn rabbit in a grey colour."
"Hm~." Said Natsuna as she blankly staring at these two creatures with her greyed-blue eyes. "I think I kinda know it. So... grape should've had this kind of colour, right?"
"...In picture maybe, but in reality, it kinda had a different kind of colour, it's my personal opinion though." I said. "Well, anyway, let's make a camp at this place. And we already have a dinner too."
Several times later, the rabbit was dead, all clean and ready to get burned, but curiously I used a culinary and much to my surprise, when I put the skewered meat into the fire, there were several options appeared from the supposedly blank screen.
Cooking point: 10/10.

....
I did felt happy when I saw this, but at the same time, I felt a little bit disappointed, considering the taste would be the same as the usual.
"Anyway, Natsuna, the smoke that is flying right now is grey, maybe... more or less."

8 447Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).

Maybe more, but it didn’t matter. Not since that apocalyptic warning had restored snippets of a long-shattered pride. Under the sampling of a macabre leaderboard, only the chosen ones will survive. Surnamed Gregorios, Loris would do anything to stand among them. One chapter per day. Enjoy your reading!
