Siegfried PoV

I enter the class at the same time as always, exactly 10 minutes before the time class starts. I walk to my seat that is the near the back of the room, though I don’t sit near the window, I sit near the wall. That way I can protect Eris better because I don’t need to be looking in both directions to see if someone is there or not.

(AN: Watches… being perfectionists with time and this guy is a stalker…)

Eris entered 2 minutes after I sat down/ I wave my hand, not that happily, just like a normal kid, and she answered with a small wave that she hid from the others since I was labeled as a strange kid that wouldn’t talk much to anyone. Even the teachers were a little afraid of my knowledge.

‘I have nearly 8000 years on them and they think they can teach me something that I don’t know…? Well, probably some of the geography of the colonised worlds, because I couldn’t travel that much except when going to the other towers all over the universe.’ I think as the teacher enters the classroom a minute after the ringing sound of the start of class.

“Today we are going to start learning how to sense the magic power that is inside our bodies.” The teacher said after calling every kid’s name to see if they were here. “It will just be the theory behind it since we are only going to have a week more of class as the winter break is getting closer. I want you to train how to sense the magic power, or mana, inside your body during the break as a homework for this class.” He continued to explain everything he knew about it. I can say that it was annoying since I had always felt how to use it from the beginning.

After the explanation the teacher made us meditate to try to find our mana, and just to not be the only one that wasn’t doing it I let my mana circulate through my body. All the gears, circuits, fibres, plating, padding… everything was bathed in mana that I have gathered from the other mana crystals I have eaten.

I felt that my body was permeated with mana, so before it leaked out I stopped and willed the mana to go back to my core. After that I just sat there looking at Eris while she struggled to find it as she did yesterday, I could see that everyone in class was trying very hard to do it as well.

I would have laughed if the teacher wasn’t in class watching. The kids needed to try to peacefully detect the mana inside their bodies but were failing like I had suspected they would because of trying too hard. I know a good way to make someone be able to sense the mana inside their bodies, but it is no longer used in this era because kids that could use magic too soon would be too powerful if not well controlled or well ‘trained’.

I say that, but I am just lazing here while the other kids try to grasp how to use the mana inside their bodies. It would be faster if the teacher infused some of his mana into the kids as a way to show them how it felt, since it is gives them an idea of the strange feeling they need to find.

The teacher let the kids do that for half an hour until they all were getting frustrated that no one could feel the mana inside their bodies. Teacher Macao, the one that is giving lesson to us, is smiling as all the children have the same defeated face, it was something that he knew it was going to happen. Well, all the kids have that face except me and it was obvious that he would notice that I am not like the others.

"Siegfried." He called me and I looked at him with doubt since I don’t understand why he is calling me. “You gave up too early. Even the kids that don’t like to study tried harder than you.” He said looking at me with the same eyes that he always has… I really don’t understand that look… every time I get one of the tests they give I ace it and he says that I shouldn’t stop.

“Ah, I didn’t gave up, I was just bored since I felt it easily. I could say that I have always sensed it every day of my life.” I say making a signal to Eris to be quiet. I don’t want her to talk about me being able to use magic at my age, but I don’t think simply feeling mana is that difficult since I could feel it since the day I was ‘born’.

“““...””” The class goes silent for few seconds as all of them are staring at me. I just shrug and continue to learn how to draw, it is a little harder than what I thought, my hands' movements are awkward and I can’t just ‘think’ and send it to Stein or Trimp.

“Siegfried… Do you know how to use magic?” The teacher asks me after recovering enough to not look so pale as he was.

“No, I can just feel it…” I look at him and with another signal I tell Eris to not tell anyone about the magic I used before. “I learned to feel it before coming to this city…” I let my voice die because everyone knows my ‘story’.

“Oh, that is good then. You should help the others, but since it is their first time I think they should try a little more. It would be better if they can manage it on their own if possible.” He smiles wryly and I answer him with a nod of my head.

It was not long after that that the signal came indicating the end of his class. After that was geography, physics, mathematics and arts. I am lucky that my body doesn’t shake but I can’t draw very well. ‘It looks like this body needs to be calibrated even more.’ I think as I continue to draw things that the teacher asked us. The class continued until a little past 2 PM and after that was the time kids would go to their club activity or just go out with their friends.

I am the one that goes to one of the school clubs, since Eris has chosen to participate in the swordsmanship one I am there as well, but she sucks at it… I could see her acting more as a gunner than a swordswoman.

“Eris, why are you not going to the gunner club? I think you would do better there.” I tell her after the practice as we walk the same way for a few minutes.

“It is simple. I can’t feel my mana, and it is a bit hard to take aim with the heavy guns… they are a bit too heavy for me…” She tells me with a sad face and I start to laugh at her reaction. “Don’t laugh!” She pouts and I almost fell on the ground while holding my stomach.

“Really.” I clean the tears that have appeared in the corner of my eyes. “Do you not know that they have handguns as well? They are really light and you can shoot the small bullets they use to practice since you can’t really use magic yet.” I explain and she looks at me before turning her face away.

“I-I knew that already.” She says but I can see that she is not happy that she didn’t think about that. “And what are you going to do if I want to go there? I see that everyone likes your swordsmanship.” She says changing the subject.

“Me? Well, I’ll probably go to that club as well. I want to see if I am good at shooting things.” I say with a smile on my face. “I couldn’t try the clubs before.” I know that I am really good at shooting since I have a system that helps me see the right angle I should shoot, even things like the wind's direction.

“Oh, I forgot that you weren't at school that week.” She says as I walk her home while chatting about things that we should do or not.

“Ossan!” I call Eris’ father and he glares at me. “Are you waiting for your daughter to arrive here safely again?” I tease him as I see that he really cares about Eris. “You have such a doting father.” I tell her while chuckling.

“Stop that Sieg! You know perfectly well that Dad is here to see if I’m fine.” She says walking faster to go to her father. ‘That is what it means to be a doting father…’

“Looks like you’re not needed anymore.” Her father says that I should leave her alone for now. “You can go home already.” He continues to drive me out but I hear her mother calling to her.

“Eris, who is that boy?” A blonde woman appears in the doorway as Eris walks up to it, and I know that she is her mother because I have been watching the whole family while in the clock tower.

“I am Siegfried. I am pleased to meet such a beautiful woman. Would you perhaps be Eris' older sister?” I introduce myself with a small bow and I can hear Eris' father gasping for air.

“Ara ara. It is just your eyes playing tricks.” She laughs and with a small wave she accepts my compliment. “Nice to meet you too. I am Eleanor, Eris’ mother, and that doting fool is my husband, Cedric.” She smiles as she gestures to her husband.

“I am just protecting her from the eyes of hungry boys.” Cedric says and I chuckle at his reaction. His face is red, fiddling with his fingers as well inflating his chest with pride.

"What a good father! Protecting his daughter against the evil boys!" Eleanor says jumping at his chest. "My love, you're always the coolest man I have ever seen." She says with a warm voice and I just look at Eris. She had a wry smile on her face.

"Sieg, see you again. I have some things to do." Eris says waving her hand to me before entering her house.

"Eris' parents, I am pleased to get to know you." I smile at the couple who were creating a pink atmosphere around them as I run to the orphanage.

"Sisters, I'm back." I shout as I enter the building.

"Sieg! You're finally here. We're short in hands right now, could you help with the store?" Helen, one of the sisters, greets me.

"I'll quickly change, you help the other sisters here." I answer her and she answers with a quick nod before heading out to take care of the other kids.

I run to my bedroom that I shared with two other older boys, Martin, who is a 9 year old lizard beastkin, and Gustav, an 8 year old half demon.

I open the door without knocking. Martin was changing and Gustav was doing his homework.

"Sieg! Knock the door!" Martin shouts as I close the door.

"Don't have time. Helen asked me to help with the store." I tell him as I throw my bag on my bed before opening the top drawer of the closet. That is the place I keep the clothes I have to wear when helping at the store.

I have two sets of clothes that I can use there, they are all white cloaks that have some sort of gold gears and silver clock pattern.

I grab one of them. "Can I take a shower? I am all sweaty and I need to rush." I ask them as I am already near the door.

"Go already! We know that you are in a hurry." Gustav says without taking his eyes off his homework.

"Thanks!" I enter the bathroom to take a short shower.

Martha PoV

"I know that it is all because of Sieg that we have this many people here... But I would thank them if they didn't come at exactly the time he arrives home. The store feels cramped." I complain to York as we got a break after seeing all the people inside the store.

"I know. They all started to come here after hearing about his eyes... but we should thank him, it is because of him that our sales skyrocketed." She answers me and I nod. "But they could all come in small flocks at different times... it is hard to help them this way." York sighs and I do the same. It is at that time that blue hair appears in my field of vision.

"Sieg! You're finally entering the shop!" I shout happily as I walk to the smiling boy. 'I want to cuddle him... he is too cute!' I think as I get closer.

"Oh! Sis Martha, they are all there already like I heard?" He tilts his head and I nod to him.

"There are too many people today again. It looks like your wandering through the city made you famous. Well, you have good grades as well, so that just makes people want to see you more." I tell him and he nods.

"But we are lucky. Without this many people it would be a little hard to feed all the kids." He tells me with a nod. "I shall go help them as fast as I can. I can't leave the other sisters to that many people alone." He smile wryly to me and I chuckle at him.

"You're just a kid! You should be playing around!" I rub his hair, making a mess of it.

"Ah! I need to go! Let me go Sis Martha!" He says as he struggles but I don't want to let him go just yet. He was lucky that York stopped me as he runs to the store.

"Ah, his hair feels good..." I say and York nods.

"I know... And his face makes us want to tease him a little." I nod to her words.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, your small Siegfried is here to help! If you want my help you just need to ask!" I hear Sieg saying one of the funny lines he always says when he is helping us. I know that he always does some pose to match what he is saying. Today he is probably bowing his head to the people there.

"I think it is time to go back there." I say as I hear lots of people shouting that Sieg is cute, that he is always cool, polite and other things that I don't want to hear.

"Yes, we can't let the little boy handle them all alone." York says and we enter the store that is now bursting with laughing sounds as well admiration applause.

Siegfried PoV

"You want a mana potion? We have that here." I tell an old lady that is here for the first time, and with a small jog I grab one of the flasks that is laying near. "It is the usual price, 50 coppers." I tell lady with a smile as I receive one copper plate and without losing any time I grab 50 coppers to give her back. She said I could just have it, but I refused because I can't receive money from the people that come here to buy things.

The monetary system is like this: 100 coppers is a copper plate, and 100 copper plates is a silver. It just goes up until it reaches platinum plate. It's kind of easy to see how much something cost' like that since the copper are used in a coin form and from silver up they are all actually paper bills, just changing the color and number they have.

She accepts the change without a word and as she leaves she places it in the box near the entrance where people can leave some donation if they want. I shrug as I see that.

"I want an amulet for my son!" I look at the next person and with a small nod I help him with the amulet he wanted.

I used all my afternoon helping the sisters until it was time to close the store.

"I'm beat!" I say as I sit in the dining room. "Today there were more people than usual... even some of the people from my class appeared!" I tell to Josh, a halfling that is sitting near me.

“Well, you have been helping with the store for two months already and it looks like you won’t be able to stop that for a while.” He says with a smile. All the kids here help every few days at the store as a way to learn something to do when they reach adulthood without finding a family for them.

‘It is the hard reality but is it just me or does it look like I became a celebrity?’ I think to myself as I hear a laughing in my mind.

‘It is not just you! You are God Stein! It is obvious that they would do something like that!’ Stein tells me through our link.

‘Stein, get lost! I am not Stein anymore! I am Siegfried! Have you forgotten that already? I answer him but the stupid watch just laughs.

‘Oh! I almost forgot to tell you. It looks like we are now ‘real gods’. He tells me in a serious voice.

‘WHAT THE HELL? We were alway true gods! Who said that we aren’t?’ I ask him while doubting this statement.

‘I just got a call from the Goddess of Madness and Cookies, Detea… it looks like all we did until now were things that all gods have to do, but we weren't powerful or encompassing enough, and I was just called a 'true god' after discovering what I am truly able to do with my power… or it was because I gave you life… I think it was the second one. He tells me with a shrug.

‘How the hell did I never notice… OH! So they are the other gods I saw the mortals pray to… That explains everything!’ I tell him and he nods through our link. ‘It is good to know that we aren’t alone… but why did they never talk with us you before?’ I ask him.

‘It looks like they tried a lot and couldn’t reach my core because something was in their way, but it seems that after releasing The Kraken you they managed to send me the invitation… by the way, Trimp is considered to be a minor god of technology.’ He says as it was something that he has been waiting for already.

‘I can understand why…’ I tell him as I shrug. ‘It is good that you froze time… it would be awkward to do that many faces while thinking alone… I am strange enough, so they say.’ I tell the other me.

‘Oh, good that you liked it. I will probably need to talk with the other gods some day, so when I do that I’ll let you in the core to take care of the city. He says as though it was something normal to do.

‘Hell! NO! I’ll not stay there! You can just stop time if you want! From the number of towers you have you are able to stop time for nearly a month or so!’ I tell him.

We discussed some more, but soon after that he connected to the gods and got to know that the meeting will just take one mortal day, so I was okay with it, but now he has to think about the other gods as he meddles with the world… well, it is not like the gods are easily killed because they are far older than Stein.

“I’m hungry.” I tell Josh that is beside me when time starts to flow again. I let my head fall on the table as I don’t have almost any energy left.

“It is expected, you worked hard today. The number of people there was almost triple what we normally receive in a single day.” He answers me while chuckling. “But you’re lucky. It looks like today we are going to have a feast!” Josh says, and when I focus on the smells that are coming from the kitchen my mouth starts to water.

‘I don’t know what they are making, but the smell is making me hungrier!’ I think as I continue to rest my head on the table. ‘GO FAST! I’M HUNGRY HERE!’ I wanted to shout, but I know that it will not make them make the food tastier, so I had to wait while thinking that I was going to die.

Soon after that, okay, it took them a nearly-eternal 15 minutes to finish cooking the dinner, but as soon as they finished I was standing up and going to get my share of today’s menu that was spaghetti with rice, hamburger steak and salad. I can say that I ate until almost bursting! It was delicious!

Stein PoV

I am finally able to send you this invitation that the other gods and I have been trying to send to you for nearly 4000 years! It was a pain to try it every few weeks just to discover that you’re not able to receive such a thing! You know that I can be really mad when I want, RIGHT?

Well, since I am happy you are able to receive such things now, I think you can now be considered a true god. *Please insert clapping sounds here.*

I, The Great Goddess Of Madness and Cookies, Detea, hereby grant you, Stein, the title of the God of Time! Well, you were one since before, but you weren’t a ‘real’ god until we officially announced you as one just now.

From this letter I, The Great Goddess Of Madness and Cookies, Detea, call you to come to the next Meeting of the gods that is going to happen in a few months. Don’t forget to bring the minor God of Mechas, Trimp, your subornitate with you. All the other gods want to met you guys. :)

This was the letter I received while Siegfried was working at the sister's store… I really wasn’t expecting it, but now I think I got some trouble in my hands.

Writer's Spot: Good to see you again, Time Travelers.

As you will notice now, the story will walk a bit slower but it will continue as I said.

I'll not say that I have already write the last part of the story because I had an urge to do it...

The story is now going to be a little slower than before with some times skips and all because I want to make Eris a bit too cute and innocent before breaking it all when she starts to feel that she loves someone.

I will be here just showing you all that the story is going to continue and the releases will happen when Ultrabenosaurus get to PR the chapters.
