《Cosmic Spirits》The final introduction

As Aiko poked her head through the door, the first piece she concentrated on was her surroundings, which seemed to come from a modern traditional Japanese house. Focusing entirely on the hallway, she blended out everything else... that was until she heard a silent "Hm?" from just in front of her.
She remembered the order to immediately come back should she see a human because it could be dangerous, but she froze up in panic, as she actually saw a human standing right before her. Both of them only looked at each other. Aiko with a face drowned in fear, and the man before her with a shocked expression.
The man seemed as if he just woke up. He was barely dressed and still had his toothbrush hanging in his mouth. He stood in front of her barefoot and with baggy techwear style pants, and the only clothing covering his upper body was a white tank top that looked like he wore it to sleep.
His hair was dark blue and mostly short. His bangs were hanging in front of his face, between his eyes, and before his ears. Behind his neck was a thin ponytail that barely reached his shoulders, hanging down with a few strands poking out behind it.
Aiko and the man stared each other into the eyes without saying a word. Both were still and not moving an inch. The only movement between these two was the wiggling of the pink toothbrush in his mouth.
"Zen! Where the fuck is my toothbrush?!" After a few seconds, another door in the hallway flung open. As a woman came into the hallway and took the man's focus off Aiko, she immediately ran back and into the portal.
At the moment that she stepped back into the library, she, without hesitation, ran towards Fudo and buried her face in his side. "Uh... Aishi? Everything ok?" He slowly lifted his right arm, so his elbow wouldn't start poking her before he put his hand on her head. "There was one... right before me... a human."
Fudo's eyes widened as he heard her voice that was muffled in his t-shirt. "You're not hurt anywhere, right?! Did they attack you?!" He grabbed her shoulder as he nearly jumped up from his chair.
"No... we only looked at each other... it was only a few seconds." Aiko said as she still pressed her face into Fudo's side. For a short time, the entire library was silent, then Miyo started to snicker. "Do you see this, Zen? You do look pretty terrifying."
Suddenly, all the eyes were focused on the door Miyo was looking at. Even Aiko stopped burying her face as soon as she heard the name the woman just said. Right in front of the door was the man that Aiko just ran away from. The same man that stood in front of her a few seconds ago.
The man looked around the table before he took the pink toothbrush out of his mouth. "That's 'cause I just woke up. Aruna's been occupying the bath the whole time. I didn't get the time to grab more than the nearest toothbrush... which is probably hers... anyway, who the hell are they? Did you kidnap children for your orphan battle royal idea again?"
"For your what?!" Isamu turned around and stared straight at Miyo, who just held her hand in front of her mouth, and avoided eye contact with any of them. "That idea's been cast aside... for now. They're recruits, and you won't believe it, that little girl there is the new Trigram host!"

"Ah, I knew that blur orb looked familiar... why is he blue, though?" The man came over to the table and stopped before Fudo and Aiko. Fudo put his arm around Aiko as means of protection, but again, the man concentrated on the air above Aiko and not her, which annoyed Fudo from the start.
"Can we do something about this?! I wanna see them too! This is so damn unfair!" He yelled out and pointed towards the man while still looking at Miyo and Kaiyo. "He's a Noes? Boss, can't you give him the ability to see espers? Why didn't you do it yet?"
Miyo gently stood up and walked towards the man without answering any of their questions at all. She just held her hand up to his face and poked against his cheek while tip-toeing. " Before I say anything, that tall guy here is from my little group. His name is Zen Bushida, and he's what I actually wanted you to bring here, Aishi. I knew he wasn't out working, so I figured I could have a little fun and tell you to get something that never existed while I just sent you to our house."
"So... there was no danger?" Aiko asked as she now completely let go of Fudo's shirt.
"If you would've met Eijiro, then you'd be in danger, but Zen is the embodiment of a puppy. He's no danger at all." Kaiyo said with a smirk on her face. "But Eiji is in prison for his war crimes right now, so I knew he wasn't home!" Miyo looked at Fudo with a nervous look, so he wouldn't start yelling at her for sending Aiko into danger again.
"Only me and Zen are home at the moment. Ei is in company prison right now, Moni is on vacation, and Rai is on a mission." They all looked back to the door and to the woman that just closed it. As the woman then also looked around the tables, like Zen did as he entered, her focus was instantly on Isamu.
"Ay, who is this cutie?! Are we keeping him?!" She ran over to Isamu just as Miyo did with Aiko before. With a glow in her eyes and a bright big smile on her face, she quite literally jumped against him and threw her arms around his neck. Isamu was like paralyzed again. He didn't move and only glanced over to the woman that seemed to view him as some kind of pet.
"No, we're most likely to give him to another team. We're already seven. We can't take another one in." Miyo answered as she walked towards Fudo while he and all others concentrated on Isamu, whose soul seemed to have already left his body. Without warning, she touched Fudo's forehead with her index finger, and in the same moment, her fingertip began to glow.
Before he could say anything to her, his eyes became blank black and started to glow as well. Unable to talk, Fudo was quiet the entire time that the glow kept on, silent and blind. Until suddenly, the black glow turned white and immediately stopped, returning Fudo's eyes to normal and giving him his eye light back.
"Well, that sudden color shift wasn't supposed to happen, but would you try looking that way for me?" The moment Fudo was able to see again, he followed the direction Miyo pointed to and was left speechless again. Miyo pointed directly at Aiko, but his attention was taken by the blue orb that hovered above her head.

He slowly reached his hand out as Aiko came closer to him, and the orb kept hovering directly over her head. "Is... was that it? I can see something... do I have an esper now?" Fudo stood up and hesitantly grabbed the orb, but as soon as he touched it, a name popped up in front of his eyes.
"Nope, I gave you the scan attribute. You have the ability to see the name of espers and the esper themselves, but technically you're still a Noes." Miyo stated before she walked over to the woman that kept hugging Isamu.
"So, now that you're all able to see espers, you're ready to work for us! I'll explain the rest to you later, but for now, I'll introduce us. We're working under a company in the third fraction. We work so that humans and espers can live together without trouble. I'm the leader of one of the strongest teams in our fraction."
She started to point around between Kaiyo, Zen, and the woman she stood next to. "These are three of my servants! My team is a throw-together of several S and SS tier espers, with the little addition that all of us were people no one wanted in their teams because of several reasons. So in and outside our fraction, our team is known as the seven deadly sins!"
"I'm Miyoko Noguchi, also known as Sloth. Then we have Wrath; Kaiyo Kido, Pride; Zen Bushida, and Lust, Aruna Shibata" For the last one, she pointed to the woman next to her, who quickly stood up and bowed her head.
Aruna had long wavy pink hair, with bangs covering one of her eyes. The one eye that was showing was bright pink and didn't seem to have a pupil. Instead, in the middle of her eye was a dark pink heart. A light turquoise hoodie with a pink heart pattern on its sleeves was covering her upper body, and she wore a pink skirt with black tights and no shoes... but at least she's not walking around barefoot like Zen.
"The other three are out, as Aruna said before. The rest is Shamon Sano, also known as Gluttony, and he's out for vacation. Raidon Nomura, or Envy, who is working at the moment, and then there's our problem child Eijiro Kase. He's Greed, and next to Shamon and Aruna, probably the one that lives out his name the most." Kaiyo said with a smile that, for some reason, looked provocatively smug.
"He's a strong fighter, so we mostly send him on those kinds of missions, but he's getting greedy a lot of times. We're allowed to kill Espers from other fractions and normally when we see it as necessary, but Eijiro kills whenever he wants to. His greed for people's lives is what made him be kicked out from dozens of teams until he landed with us. He's the main reason that Miyo and I made this team."
"And you're going to get teams too! You three will make teams directly under us!" Miyo jumped around in front of them. Somehow, the thought of having teams under her command made her strangely excited, despite her already being the leader of her own group.
Fudo's uninterested face that he had the entire time immediately disappeared, and he wore an excited face matching Miyo's. Isamu still didn't seem to be really comfortable with Aruna, who wrapped her arms around his neck, and pulled him tightly onto herself, while she observed Miyo, and just Aiko appeared to have a problem with the entire situation.
"Is... that actually all? It seems as if you skipped a lot... for example, why exactly should I bring Zen now?" Aiko raised her hand again and pointed up to Zen, who again only responded with a sleepy "hm?"
"A-ah, yes, I forgot. So, I was about to give you an example of espers that choose their host themselves. Those espers can be summoned if you have collected enough Elysium and meet the strengths standard of the esper. Our dear Zen has one of those espers. An esper that made its creator famous and is really picky when choosing its next host, so it waits for someone they deem fitting. Those are mostly either S or SS espers, and we call them Hero-type esper... Zen, could you please?"
The entire time she explained this, Miyo walked in circles around Zen. Just to the end, she stopped next to him and started poking his belly. Zen followed her with his eyes whenever she was in front of him and didn't seem to pay attention to what she was saying, just until she poked him.
It was just a poking, but it worked like a button push since after she poked him only once, his right arm flung out to the side. His hand was open and began to glow. But other than every time Miyo's hand was glowing, his light changed its appearance. The light in his hand gradually got thinner but grew longer.
Not long after the light appeared, it already disappeared, leaving a katana in his hand. Zen was holding it with just one hand without any problems and despite the blade of the sword being around three feet long. "This esper is called Drying pole, or in other words, the physics-defying blade of-."
"Sasaki Kojiro?... Is that the same blade he had while he was still alive?" Isamu's eyes sparkled as he looked at the sword. Miyo glanced at him with the same sparkle in her eyes, while Zen only looked at the blade a little upset. "Was he really that popular? When even the shirtless kid knows him... you just said he was a samurai."
Miyo ran over to Isamu and also jumped against his belly before wrapping her arms around him. "Do you see how uneducated all of these idiots are?! None of these people know anything about history! It's a wonder that Aruna even knew anything about her esper!"
Isamu was on edge again. Now having two women have their arms wrapped around him, he was barely able to say anything and again was in a paralysis-like state. "I-I... I like reading... history books... n-nothing special..."
Upon seeing his reaction, Aruna started pouting and pushing against Miyo's head. "You're making him nervous! Get your hands off him!" "Zen! Get this succubus off my cub-."
Before Miyo could finish her demand, she suddenly felt something pull on her clothes and feel herself be lifted off the ground and off of Isamu. "Zen, I meant-" "Yeah, what did you mean?" Kaiyo said, holding Miyo closer to her face. Miyo abruptly shut her mouth and started sweating as she saw Kaiyo's envious and annoyed look.
"We're going out. We still have a job to do. Zen, Aruna, you'll teach them what they need to know while we're gone." The woman started walking towards the big gateway that they all came from while carrying Miyo under her arm.
"You know that we'll be finished as soon as you step out, right? The whole... time shift thingie Omoikane has going on?... Also, what were you going to do anyway? This is your job too, so teach them yourself!" Aruna yelled after them.
"I knew that! I just wanted to get Miyo away from here." Kaiyo yelled back at them. She had her back facing them and didn't turn around to hide her face, which was turning bright red out of embarrassment. Her voice didn't give it away, and the only one that was able to see her face at the moment was Miyo, but Isamu was getting skeptical.
"Why are you getting embarrassed then? Your heart is beating really fast." Everyone ended up staring at Isamu. Even Kaiyo turned around again but somehow completely calmed down already. "What do you mean her heart is beating fast? Can you see her heartbeat?"
Aruna lowered her head so that hers was on the same height as Isamu's. Their ears were nearly touching as she tried to also see something in Kaiyo but failed. "I can't see anything..." "I can hear it... I can feel her heartbeat, but I can't see anything." Isamu answered while glancing over to the woman that rested her head on his shoulder.
"I thought your ability was something like that too because you have a heart in your eye." The woman went from pouting, inflated cheeks to a wide and smug smile before she pressed her cheek against his. "My name is Lust. I don't think I need to explain what the hearts in my eyes mean."
"Can we... continue whatever we had going on here?" Fudo sat on his chair, his leg impatiently stomping on the ground over and over. "We can't keep getting distracted like this." Miyo, still clenched in under Kaiyo's arm, started to laugh slightly. "Obviously, we can! In the time we've been in here, not even a second outside of the library has passed... well, besides the time I that Aishi opened the door. We literally have all the time of the world!"
"But this is turning into damn chaos. How the hell is the reade- are we supposed to know what's going on?"
"Well, this is going to be your new job. This little chaos is needed at a time. Imagine having everything you need be told right after another... I doubt you would understand everything right away." Zen said as he sat down next to Fudo and then put a hand on his shoulder. "We all got this treatment. The boss knows what she's doing. Just ask questions when you gotta, and enjoy the theater she creates."
Zen had a wide, nearly blinding smile on his face but Fudo could only concentrate on one thing "Why does he still have the toothbrush in his mouth?" he thought as he looked up at Zen's face. "Then... tell me why all of you know Aishi's esper. Is that ball some kind of super strong esper that everyone is afraid of or something like that?"
"Nope! Saying it like that, it's the complete opposite!" Miyo announced somewhat happily. "You see, I said that the esper ranks go from G to a triple S, but there are exceptions. Trigram is one of those, Trigram is H rank, as the only one weaker than the weakest espers."
Kaiyo slowly reached for the book that was still lying on the table in front of them and started flipping trough the pages. "So, we explained that espers exist since the universe exists, and that they gradually got weaker. Trigram is from one generation before the espers that we call gods, but he is by far the weakest epser ever, we all know him because everyone that becomes Trigram's host immediately destroys him in hope of getting a better esper, or they die in battle because they didn't know how weak he was. So he had a new host practically every week... that was before he suddenly disappeared 12 years ago."
"Did he disappear... because he became my esper?" Aiko who still stood near Fudo instead of sitting down for some reason grabbed Trigram and held it in her arms like a small pet.
"Well... did you kill someone in the last 11 years?" Zen asked while leaning back in his chair. "I... My mother died of childbirth, would that count?" Zen suddenly opened his eyes rather quickly and looked down at her. "Yeah, it does... You grew up without a mother too?" He asked in a more gentle tone, with his eyebrows furrowed and his unfocused look more set on the little girl.
"Well, they all did, Zen. These three are orphans, that's what I meant as I said we got work earlier. We gotta get them out of the orphanage, so we were about to play lonely, married couple and adopt them." Kaiyo expressed loudly, and so she changed the entire mood in the place.
