Story arc is coming to a close with this
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Akiza had successfully slain a Lord Stage wolf. However, Serph was still having trouble. He was saved by Kongming twice while trying to fight Spirit Stage beasts. This gave Akiza some time to focus on reading the books provided by Kongming. They were filled with the medical knowledge that Kongming had compiled over the years.
Since Akiza had some free time now, she took to studying the medical texts. They were much more detailed and informative than the ones in the Nine Yins and Nine Yang Manual. That was created by someone in a single lifetime. Kongming had created his over the length of multiple lifetimes. It was there that Akiza found something that she was looking for. The recipe to refine the Yin-Yang Rose.
Meanwhile, Serph was still being watched by Kongming as he fought with a large snake. The snake was only at the Limit Stage, it did not possess an abundant amount of Internal Energy nor any unique abilities. "You lack the natural ability to sense and adapt," said Kongming.
"I know," said Serph. "That is why I must keep training."
Serph slashed under the head of the snake, but it twisted, avoiding the attack. The snake then flailed its tail wildly at Serph smashing the ground. Serph raised his Golem Shield to counter.
"That is a very impressive Spirit you have," said Kongming. "But why don't you ever use it offensively?" he asked.
"To use a shield offensively? How?" asked Serph.
Kongming explained, "You can throw it, you can charge in with it, you can use it as blunt weapon. Do not think of it as just a tool to protect yourself. Imagine it as if it was another hand."

Serph focused his attention on the snake. He threw the shield at the snake, the snake twisted its body to avoid. Serph came from the other side with his sword, the snake dodged downwards. "Got you," said Serph. He used his fist to smash the head of the snake. It was a three part attack that came from different directions.
"Just like that," said Kongming.
"Thank you, Master," said Serph.
Just then a terrifying entire was released. It possessed intense killing intent. It was coming from the direction of Kongming's house.
When Akiza had finished reading the recipe for refining the Yin-Yang Rose. She took out the rose from her Dantian and looked at it. It was a flower with black and white petals. It did not look as impressive as the others, but it contained an immense amount of Internal Energy. Akiza followed as Kongming had taught her, using her own Internal Energy and the power of her fire to refine the medicine. It took everything she had to do it. The Yin-Yang Rose was an incredible medicine and required just as much Internal Energy to refine using the method Kongming had shown her. Using all of her strength, a bright light flashed as a small ball appeared in her hand. It was about 60% black and 40% white, but 100% pure. Akiza passed out from using her Internal Energy to refine it.
A short while later, Akiza woke up. Serph and Kongming were still out. Akiza focused and absorbed the refined Yin-Yang Rose into her Dantian. It was an intense amount of Internal Energy. Akiza struggled to absorb its energies.
In Akiza's Dantian, Akira could see its immense power. The Hero's Flower was absorbing every bit of the energy. That was when Akira noticed it, the pinkish color of the edges began to turn purple. "It was another breakthrough! This kid was going to become as powerful as a Lord at the young age of seven!" he thought.

BOOM. There was a huge release of energy from the Hero's Flower. The tips of the Hero's Flower turned black. It now had a bright pink center, purple middle, black on the outside. It was then that Akira's face changed. The Hero's Flower was releasing a terrifying amount of Dark Energy. Something he only felt in the presence of the previous Demon Lord. "Stop Akiza!" he shouted.
It was too late, Akiza had already absorbed too much of the Yin-Yang Rose and the process could not be stopped. "Damn," said Akira. "I must try to stop it."
Akira leaped towards the Hero's Flower, releasing the Divine Energy he had saved up during his inactive period as a Hero. A bright light crashed against the Hero's Flower, but he was repelled. At that moment, he saw a purple flame burst forth from the Hero's Flower and they both fell to the ground. He felt the Dark Energy coming from the purple flame. He looked at the Hero's Flower, the colors had stopped changing. He had at least stopped it from getting worse.
Akira got up to see what it was. It was a beautiful woman. She had long black hair. She wore a purple vest that revealed her stomach and revealed part of the top of her chest. She was wearing some type of purple skirt with white socks and purple boots.
This woman was the one releasing the terrifying Dark Energy. "How did she get in here?" Akira wondered.

(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
