《The Phoenix Hero [DROPPED]》Chapter 027 - The Immortal Realm (2)

Akiza and Serph headed towards the powerful Internal Energy source to the North. Along the way, they passed other students who were collecting various plants. However, they were not good ones. Akiza could only feel very weak Internal Energy eminating from the plant. It was nothing compared to where they were going.
That was when they saw it. It was a giant rhino. A white creature on four legs and a horn. It was running after an antelope. "That must be the dangers that the Master warned us about," said Serph.
"Yes, it has an aura of Internal Energy as well," said Akiza.
"That thing knows martial arts and skills?!?" Serph said with shock.
"It is highly likely," said Akiza.
"A monster with high physical strength and special skills is truly something dangerous," Serph commented.
The two waited to make sure the creatures were gone before they proceeded. It was there that they saw it. It was a rose with black and white petals. "That's what we're looking for," said Akiza pointing at the flower.
"What is that?" asked Serph.
"That is a Yin Yang Rose," said Akiza. "If you grind it down into a powder and bathe in it, you can fully absorb its power and increase your Yin and Yang energy by leaps and bounds!"
"How do you know this?" asked Serph.
"I studied medicine too," explained Akiza.
"What have you not studied?!?" Serph said with a surprise.
Akiza walked forward and took it and put into her Dantian. "Success!" she said.
"Is there another?" Serph asked.
"There's another source coming from the Southwest," said Akiza.
The two made their way torwards the destination. There was no obstacle this time. But when they arrived, it was just a pile of rocks.
"There's nothing here," said Serph. "Are you sure it is here?"

"Yes, I still feel the energy coming from the rocks around here," said Akiza.
"Well I don't see anything," said Serph.
The ground shook. "Earthquake?" said Serph.
"I didn't feel it," said Akiza.
The ground shook again. "There it is again," said Serph.
"It's moving?" said Akiza.
At that moment, the ground exploded and rocks scattered everywhere and dust rose to the clouds. The ground continued to shake. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. Something was coming.
A rock flew at Serph. "Watch out!" shouted Akiza.
Serph ran backwards as fast as he could. BOOM. The ground shook again. The rock that Serph was standing on was smashed to pieces.
The cloud began to clear. It was a giant composed of numerous boulders. "It's a golem!" said Akiza.
"A what?" shouted Serph.
"It is a monster that is created when a rock absorbs enough Internal Energy," said Akiza.
The monster was slow and easy to avoid. "Hiyah!" shouted Serph as he slashed it.
CLING. The sword made contact with the rock and bounced right off. "I can't cut it!" shouted Serph.
"That's cause you have to smash it!" shouted Akiza as she flew towards the golem. "Rising Phoenix Strike!" she shouted. A burst of flames appeared at the golem's chest. BOOM. A loud sound rang out as Akiza's fist made contact. CRASH as it fell over. A cloud of dust was created again.
"You did it!" shouted Serph.
"No, I just knocked it over," replied Akiza.
The golem got back up again. There were only some cracks on the main body piece where Akiza had hit it. "How do we stop this thing?" asked Serph.
"We hit it until it stays down," said Akiza. She had lept up and punched it again. More cracks appeared on the golem.
Serph put his sword away. "Sonic Thrust!" he lept as he punched the golem. The impact knocked the golem over again. CRASH the ground shook as the golem fell to the ground and a cloud of dust rose up.

The golem got up again. "Why won't it stay down?" Serph asked.
"It won't stay down until we break the main body piece, it is the core," Akiza explained. "Just keep hitting it so it can't fight back."
The two took turns punching the golem over and over. Each time it fell, more cracks appeared, the ground shook, and a cloud of dust rose up. Eventually, the whole golem crumbled onto the floor.
"We did it!" shouted Serph.
"Wait, I still feel an energy source," Akiza said.
The dust cleared on the ground was a red crystal. It contained a lot of Internal Energy. Akiza picked up the small red stone. "What is this?" she said.
"It's a Spirit Core," said Akira. "It contains the Spirit of the golem that you just defeated."
"What is it for?" asked Akiza.
"If you absorb it into your Dantian, you can get a golem spirit like how you have a phoenix," Akira explained.
"Here you go," said Akiza as she hanted the red stone to Serph.
"This is a Spirit Core!" said Serph. "I can't take this, it is too valuable."
"I have the flower, you get the core, end of our talk," said Akiza.
"Thank you so much," said Serph. "My first Spirit...." he said looking gleefully at the stone.
"Strange..." said Akiza.
"What is?" said Serph.
"The cloud of dust has not cleared," Akiza said.
"That's not dust," said Serph. "That's the fog!"
"What?!?" shouted Akiza. "We must hurry then."
The two ran back towards the Gate. They had been so busy fighting the golem they forgot to keep track of time. It also did not help that the sky was grey the whole time. There was no night or day. On the way, they did not see anyone. "Everyone must have left already," Akiza thought.
In the distance there was a loud roar. "What was that?" Serph said with the sound of fear in his voice.
"It is a powerful monster," said Akiza.
Akiza and Serph were barely ahead of the fog anymore. The fog was speeding up. The time that the Immortal Realm was safe to enter was coming to an end. When they arrived at the Gate, there was five people.
"What luck!" said Haman. "Who would've thought that it was you Akiza!" he shouted.
"We have to hurry through the Gate," said Akiza.
"No, I have to hurry," said Haman. "You have to stay here."
"What?!?" Akiza said.
"I told you, I will kill you for my humiliation, and this is how I will do it," said Haman. "And no one will know I did it."
"No!" said Serph.
"I am the greatest prodigy!" said Haman. "I will be the number one Apprentice this year! You will not get in my way! I will be a great warrior in the future! Your names will disappear here!"
As Haman walked, the people all moved the ground around the Gate, they were making sure it would be buried as they left. In a matter of seconds the Gate was buried and Akiza and Serph were left in the Immortal Realm. Akiza and Serph no longer had a way to get back. They were going to be stuck in the Immortal Realm until the next Gate opened. That would be when the fog lifted again.

Profanity will be kept to a minimum, but will be included to keep realism. There will be some gore, vegans and animal activists alike beware. Will include some comedy, some meaningful conversation (I hope) and some things you will (hopefully) never expect in this genre. Hopefully quality will increase as it goes on. No schedule for chapters, but they will keep coming. Feedback welcome. View my other story at https://royalroadl.com/fiction/13168/fork-this-life

Now her dream has a chance to become reality - she's a new student at Ba'al Cedric's Academy of Adventurers, a university for warrriors and heroes to learn to battle against the surprisingly amicable demon armies of the neighboring country in an endless war nobody really remembers the point of by now. She's also a BladeMage - an exceedingly rare and exceedingly difficult dual class that few have ever managed to succeed in, but those who have gain immense power. Arenya has a long road ahead of her, with rival students, duels with demons, and a host of benchmarks she must pass in order to keep her scholarship. Will she make it to level 100 and beyond, or die too many times and be forced to return home, tail (literally) between her legs to a life of farming and dreaming of adventure? BladeMage is a LitRPG with a lighter focus on stats. It features battles, leveling up, giant monsters, a bit of fanservice, and more. [Update: The LitRPG elements are proving themselves relatively unimportant as I continue to write. They may be dropped entirely, in which case I will change the prior chapters as well as update this description.] Content warnings: As a story featuring lots of fighting, there will be blood and death. However, since characters rarely die permanently, this will not be a hyperviolent story with extreme gore for the sake of it. Some sexual content and fanservice may be included, but this should remain firmly at the PG-13 level and there will be no sexual violence of any kind. The Cover: Someone suggested that I should have a dragon girl with a miniskirt on the cover. I can't draw and I don't know who to ask or commission, so a few minutes in the GNU Image Manipulation Program and the masterful cover above was created! Please feel free to use your imagination to see a gorgeous half-dragon with azure hair, wings, and a tail, holding a lightning-infused sword while fighting demons.
