《The Summoner》Chaper 9: The Festival

Three day after I finished my explanation to Dal Rin and Hyun Ji, we have
finally arrived back in Goryeo. Both Hyun Jin and I stiffen up due to
surprise while Dal Rin besides us starts to giggle.
"Is this the first time both of you have seen such scene?"
The both of us quickly nods our head since words wouldn't come out.
In front of us there were people lined up on the roads cheering and waving
at us. Rose petals were falling down slowly from the sky. It was one of
those hero's return things.
As we march through the procession, many people begin to look at Hyun with
lust. Enemies!! Enemies are all around us!! Hyun Jin, being the kind person
he is, starts waving and smiling back to everyone. I feel a tap on my
shoulder and then Dal Rin leans in towards and whispers
"You should wave and smile back at others too you know? It makes you seem
ignorant just walking by and not responding"
"Too lazy~~ I don't feel like it. Anyways, we both know that this is all for
Hyun Jin anyways~~"
Dal Rin looks at me with curious eyes.
"Why did you tell us to change the report back to the king that the hero had
defeated the demon army anyways?"
"It'd be too much hassle if everyone knew how strong I was. Everyone would
always come over to me and demand I help them out. Also I'd lose my most
precious naps~"
Dal Rin just looks at me, as if she's waiting to hear the true reason. For a
little while I try to pretend that I did notice but soon gave up.
"*sigh* It's because I'm afraid that everyone found out how powerful I am,
it'll become harder to protect Hyun Jin. The enemy will send stronger
enemies and also the higher ups might try to separate the both of us."
"Man, the love between the two of you, makes me jealous~~~"
"Yo..you.. I TOLD YOU THAT'S A MISUNDERSTANDING!!!"

"Hahaha you don't have to lie to me, I'm understanding~"
Dal Rin starts to laugh and run as I am chasing after her. Inwardly I have a
smile on. These last couple of days, I feel as if the two of us had gotten
closer.
After what seems like 15 hours, we finally arrive at the Imperial Palace,
where the King went on and on about the bravery and courage of the hero and
how he defeated the demon army. The whole time Hyun Jin had a bitter smile
on him. Afterwards the King announced that tomorrow there would be a
festival to honor the Hero. After the speech, we were finally released.
Finally, I get to lay on my bed and sleep! As I was dreamily heading towards
my bed, Hyun Jin suddenly starts to go the other way.
"Yo Hyun Jin, where ya going?"
"I got some stuff I got to do, and the King wanted to talk with me in a
hour."
"Ah, have fun~ I'm going to bed"
"Haha same as always. Oh yeah, before I forget lets meet up at the entrance
tomorrow at one. Let's go look around festival."
"Alright then see ya tomorrow"
As we depart, I swear just now as Hyun Jin was leaving I saw a sinister
smile on his face. I must be hallucinating due to being so tired. Right?
The next day, like I was told, I was currently waiting for Hyun Jin at the
entrance. That bastard! It's already one thirty now!! As I'm about to leave,
I see Dal Rin walking up to the entrance. I immediately freeze up due to
shock.
Dal Rin is currently in a casual white dress. It was a simple sleeveless
dress that went down to her knees, but for some reason the image of Dal Rin
in that simple dress was devastating. Oh yeah, now that I think about it,
I've never seen Dal Rin in casual clothing, we always met for some military
meeting or something official.
Once Dal Rin walks up, she blushes slightly and asks apologize for being

late
"Sorry I came so late Lee Hyun!"
Ho, I guess even girls in this world arrive late too. Wait?! She said she
came late for meeting me?!
"Huh?! I was waiting here for Hyun Jin I didn't know you were invited also
Dal Rin"
"Ah ra, Hero nim told me yesterday to accompany you since he won't be able
to attend the festival today"
Damn you Hyun Jin! So that's why you had that sinister smile yesterday! I
knew I should have been more cautious. I'll get you back for this.
"Haha it seems like Hero nim played a prank on you. Anyways why don't we go
out and enjoy the festival?"
"Um.... sure. What would you like to go see first?"
"I haven't ate yet, how about we go eat lunch first Lee Hyun?"
"Same here, I'm starving"
So we begin our hunt for food. As were going further into the city, it
becomes more and more crowded. Scared that we'll lose each other I grab hold
of her hand and keep on going forward.
"Eh?!" Dal Rin lets out that cute line and begins to blush. I wonder why
she's blushing. Then I look at where she's looking to, which is our hands
being held together. I quickly let go in panic and try to explain myself.
"Um um um.. sorry! It was starting to get really crowded and I didn't
wa..want us to get sep..separated by the crowd so unconsciously I I grabbed
your hand because that that was what I used to do with my sister. Sorry!!"
Dal Rin looks at me with a shocked face as I had been stuttering and
blushing profusely. After a couple seconds of really awkward silence, she
bursts out in laughter.
"Pft.. Ahahahaaha!"
"Um.. Did I say something funny?"
"Ahahaha sorry, sorry. It's just that you panicking was very cute. Holding
hands so that we don't get separated was a very good idea! Now let's go, I'm
starving!"
After saying that, she grabs my hands and goes forward into the crowd. That
day we went to many stalls and ate many different types of food that Dal Rin
introduced to me. After eating, we went around the city, listening to
performances by bards and troups while laughing and having smiles on our
face. While we were walking around at night, suddenly the night brightens up
with fireworks throughout the capital. We stop where we were and admire the
sight.
"Wahh so pretty"
"Haha it is beautiful. Dal Rin, thank you very much. I had a very nice time
and enjoyed going around the capital with you"
Dal Rin turns her head towards me and smiles. Her smile is so bright and
beautiful that all that my view is full of now is her smile
"Ehehe. No problem. I also enjoyed today. Sigh I wonder if we will have such
joyful days in the future.."
"Dal Rin. I..I.."
"Princess Dal Rin!"
As I was caught in the moment and was about to tell her that I liked her, an
elf suddenly appeared flustered.
"Eh?! Ramus, what are you doing here?!"
"*Whew*.. I finally found you. The king, your father request you return
immediately to Moon City to him. He also requires you bring the hero and his
friend."
""Ehhh?!""
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the capital of the Elves, Moon City, within the basements of the palace,
there were High Elves circled around a magic formation. They were
continuously pouring their mana to the formation while chanting. After the
High Elves have finally finished their incantation, a blinding white light
forces everyone to cover their eyes.
After a few moments, the High Elves slowly start opening their eyes and
begin getting their vision back. In the middle of the magic formation, a
human female appeared. She appeared young, around the age of 16. She had a
very confused look on her as she was studying her surrounding. Even though
she appeared young and had a confused face, she was still a very beautiful
girl. The most noticeable feature was her short hair that reached a little
past her chins and her hair color. Her hair color was silver.
One of the High Elves stepped forward. He began by bowing his head before he
spoke to the lady.
"Oh lady from another world, We have summoned you here to be a hero that
will assist us in defeating the demon army, the biggest threat to all of the
races in the continent's history. If I may be so
bold, may I ask for your name?"
"Umm... It's Ji Hyun, Lee Ji Hyun"

A Castle in a Teacup
One might say that to anger forces beyond the ken of fragile breakable mortals is a bad idea, others might say that meddling in dark forces with little chance of gain is also a bad idea, they would both be right by on all counts but they forget to mention also how incredibly stupid combining both of those things are. Stupid people don’t last so long on the mystic side of things, normal folks who wander over to the other side have a tendency to do one of two things, either A. figure out that the best thing to do is keep their head down and not draw attention from any entity that refers to humanity as “you mortals” , or B. something horrifying happens to them. As you may have guessed I fell into the second category, mostly because I thought there was a third option. See I though there must be an option C, an option where I got to end up not as some shitty back ally wizard cowering at the chance of discovery, praying that one of my wards or spells wouldn’t be noticed by something that goes bump in the night. No I would be the one who rose above all that. I would never have to be afraid. Well I made a good attempt at it that’s for damn sure, but unfortunately for me it turns out there is not an option C. At least not for me…
