《The Summoner》Chapter 8: To Slay All Myths and Legends

I, Lee Hyun, the man who had destroyed a 50,0000 demon army not too long ago was at the moment shivering in fear. At the moment there were two monsters that were letting out a aura that was even darker than Lucifer's flame!!
"So Lee Hyun, why didn't you tell us about your powers~~Hero nim, you knew about this right?"
"Actually, no I didnt. I, who has been BEST FRIENDS with Lee Hyun for the last TEN years where there WASN'T suppose to be ANY secrets beween, had not known."
"Omo, even hero nim didn't know huh? Lee Hyun ssi, would you please like to explain?"
Both of them were smiling the whole times but I swear I could see the pits of eternal hell within their eyes!! NOO I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE!!
"He... hey Hyun Jin before that shouldn't yoy summon back Galahad? We need to rewrite that report and update the king as soon as possible right?"
The two of them look at me with displeased looks but since they couldn't argue with my logic, Hyun Jin summons Galahad.
"MASTEEEEERR IM SO GLAD YOURE SAFE I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO DIE WAAAH"
"Haha there there Galahad. I told you I'd be fine with Lee Hyun by my side"
"Well certainly, he is even worse than a demon lord..."
Galahad had said that under his breath but it reached me anyways. Veins start to pop up and I look at Galahad with a smile. Maybe due to his dragon senses he begins to feel deep dread and immediately hides behind his master.
"Oiiiiii~ you seem to have grown Galahad. Oh yeah I forgot I had someone I wanted to introduce you too~"
I summon Lucifer who bows his head and asks me
"My master, what is thy's wish?"
"Hey Lucifer that green horn youngling over there is weak. As his senior and strongest dragon, why don't you teach him? Don't kill him....leave him at least 8% away from death ok?"

Galahad becomes pale and tries to run away but gets quickly caught by Lucifer. As he is dragged away, the proud dragon shows a face of defeat. Everyone around shows a face of pity, even his "teacher", Lucifer. As everyone's focus is on those two, I turn around to begin my escape, but immediately I feel a soft hand on my shoulder.
"Lee Hyun nim~~ you don't think we'd let you go so easily right? We have alotttt~~ to talk about so why don't we go somewhere more private huh?"
When I turn around is Dal Rin's face starting to cramp from forcing a smile. A devil!! A devil scarier than Lucifer has appeared!!
And so that day a dragon and the man who defeated a demon army of 50,000 was dragged away.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hmmm... so where should I begin? Oh yeah, Dal Rin for your sake let me tell you this. In our world, the majority of the population doesn't believe magic exist"
"Huh, if people don't use magic, how do they survive?"
"Since they can't use magic, the people in our world focused on technology. Technology has become so advance that people can see and talk to each other from across the world. We have transportation so advance that we have vehicles called planes that fly in the air with people and can travel the distance from one end of this continent to the other in less than 6 hours. Our weaponry has become so deadly that there is a weapon that is about as big as you but can easily destroy the whole capital of Shilla and it's surrounding"
"Ehhh?! No way~~"
"While laughing nervously and playing it off as a joke she looks at Hyun Jin who she knows won't lie but all he does is nod his head, verifying what I had said so far. Her eyes open wide at the suprise.
"Well anyways, there is actually mages in our world. Mages are so rare within our world that out of the 12 billion people in our world, there are only 400 mages. We, the mages, keep ourselves hidden and have a ban on using magic anywhere where there is a chance a human can see. You see, we are afraid that it comes out that there are magicians, people will become afraid and hunt us down. People always become afraid and jealous of beings that are stronger than them and they will hunt us to the last mage, which is why we stay within the shadows, just focusing on our sacred duty, to slay all myths and legends"

I take a quick break from my story and look at the both of them to see if they were still with me. Hyun Jin makes a complicated face before asking me
"What do you mean by slaying all myths and legends?"
"Let me first fill you in with the a secret. Back in our world, Hyun Jin, gods exist"
"....!!"Hyun Jin looks at me with a face of shock.
"Actually back in 1 A.D., when beliefs were running wild throughout the world, gods appeared before certain families and bestowed upon them with magic and the power of summoners. They told these families that the beliefs of people were creating mythological beasts and even a copy of the god/goddess thmselves. Due to the oaths they made at the beginning of time, they couldn't physically interfere with the world, and so decided to choose champions to defend the world against the created monsters. They also gave us the power to summon the monsters and beings we defeated. And that's how mages came to be. The reason there are so few mages is because only direct descendants of those original champions were given those powers through their blood."
"Wait...does that mean..."
"Ya, Ji Hyun is also a summoner"
This information seems to surprise Hyun Jin even more then my explanation up until now. The power of love eh?
"Anyways, the power of mages differ between each people. The way you can tell how strong a mage is usually is by how many summons he have. A average mage can summon 2 things. A advanced one can summon 4"
"Lee Hyun ssi. How many summons do you have?"
Dal Rin is looking at Lee Hyun with great interest since she is curious how strong i am compared to the rest of the mages in our world. With a bored look, I just shrug my shoulders and answer her question.
"I have 7 summons"
The shock on both Hyun Jin and Dal Rin's face is quite amusing.
"Then..then that means you're a genius?? The strongest mage?"
"Well, I'm currently tied for second. The strongest mage has 13 summons while another dude has 7 like me. For some reason the other guy seems to have a grudge against me because before I came along he was known as the genius until I defeated him in a challenge. Since then he has been out to get me. Sigh~~ so annoying. Anyways that about sums up the story. The reason I didn't use magic until now was because I didn't want you to find out and become targeted by the other mages Hyun Jin, so I apologize to you"
After I finish my story and apologize to him, Hyun Jin gives me a large grin and lightly puches me in the shoulder. Dal Rin, who seemed to have annoying hard time believing the story at first seem to finally accept it and even said a joke
"Aww aren't you two so adorable! Even though I didn't know you two swang that way, since I now know I'll leave you two for your bromance time. Enjoy your time together bye~~"
And closes the door, leaving the two of us there with a face of shock. We both look at each at the same time before looking away quickly and shouting at the same time
""JUST WHO IS GAY?!?!OI DAL RIN! COME BACK HERE""
Before chasing her out the room and running after her while she's laughing at us.

Her school practiced drills in case raiders came, and the town grew crops in their greenhouse-adapted homes, which were the only places warm enough during the worldwide nuclear winter. Three years of occupation later, an exemplar visits—a member of Victoria’s oversight committee rumored to read minds. He tells Winnie that she may have a unique mental power, or a flair. At the empire’s capital, the queen herself tutors Winnie to help her reach the full potential of whatever power she may have. Meanwhile, in post-war Nigeria, a streetwise teenager named Naema sees a different side of the empire. Between corruption and oppression, everyone lives in squaller.
