《Just For Fun》Chapter 56: Why quests suck: quest 1 part 1

Nebel was being weighed down with bags...
This was a fairly usual occurrence for him... goes with having two... no three female family members, various ex and current girlfriends and a few female friends... even his mother had him carry her things...
Soooo even if he had to carry a pile that has wider than him and so tall he had to slide it along the ground to fit it through doorways, it was fine... well the vectors he was using to lessen the weight and hold the pile straight did help...
“Hey NebNeb, didn’t you need a new weapon?” Maya says tossing a war hammer onto the top of the pile which wobbled dangerously as Nebel struggled to rebalance it.
“Hey Nebel-Sama! Can you I trouble you with one more bag?” Mitchell says after pushing a tenth bag into his left hand...
“Nebel... please hold this for me... I saw something in that shop back there but it’s rude to bring bags into a shop...” Rosa says embarrassed to be joining into the other two’s modus operandi, adding nearly a third of his current pile more onto him before running off to buy... a pair of shoes...
Seeing a store selling children’s toys, Nebel makes a beeline for it and with a few near accidents and various curses, manages to buy a little red wagon to stack their purchases into. Mitchell and Maya look disappointed over at him and When Rosa comes back she laughs with a “HA”.
“Pay up!” she says holding out her hands towards Maya and Mitchell, who grudgingly transfer money over to her.
Nebel face palms and grinding his teeth asks the girls with an annoyed tone of voice “What were you betting on this time?”
Maya happily walks over to him and smiles “Well I bet you could carry three times your own weight!”
Mitchell red in the face tells him her bet right after her “I thought you would be able to carry a pile that reached fifteen feet into the air...”
Rosa still happy about her winnings grins... “Well I only bet because those two did... but I bet you would figure out a way to get out of carrying it!”
Nebel decides to wipe the smirk off of her face “Actually you all won... so you all lost.” Re arranging the packages and bags, Nebel stacks them into a straight tower and picks them off the ground “There you go, tower of packages sixteen feet high!”
Rosa looks a bit crestfallen but smiles once more “What about the weight? No human could possible carry three times their own weight!”
Nebel puts vectors under his arms to hold them in place and removes the ones lowering gravity’s effect on their mass and tells Mitchell to go get a scale.
After a few minutes she comes back and places it before him, Nebel lowers the tower onto the scale and it rises all the way to seven hundred pounds... way over the combined weight of three Nebels... it also breaks the scale after a few seconds and Nebel starts placing the packages... once more anti graved... onto the wagon.
“Did you really think a pile full of metal based armour and weapons, sixteen feet high could possible NOT weight a ton?” he asks them as he works... “I lowered their weight just to be able to move them.”

As it was, the moment when he had been holding their real weight... well, actually when he had placed his arms between them and a really strong vector... his arms had been crushed, quite painfully and while screaming on the inside, he had snuck a healing potion when they were watching the scale...
“No more betting on me!” before making Rosa transfer the winnings onto his card. “The house takes all!”
Maya snorts “The other me has been doing it since kindergarten, why stop now?”
“My friends told me they made some bet about you... hmmm... they didn’t tell me what about though...” Mitchell says kind of off topic, placing her hand on her tilted cheek.
“That doesn’t make it ok!!!”
They continued shopping for a while... this time only for things they actually needed... most of their previous purchases were left at Rosa’s fairly large apartment near the academy station.
Nebel had the war hammer on his back and was stocking up on potions, while Maya was groping Rosa’s breasts and as for Mitchell, she had run off to an armoury to escape her advances a few minutes earlier.
Nebel also picked up some rope, bug spray and a few small items that, after noticing them in the stores he had browsed, he had bought with the thought that they might be useful.
Maya was just about finishing her attempted rape… mostly because Rosa had frozen her hands straight off of her arms… and Mitchell had come back with her arms full of random metal junk and leather straps… so it was just about time to get a move on.
Heading out of the shopping district that was around the adventurer’s office. Nebel leads his trio of female companions down a few streets and into the train that would take them roughly towards the east.
Maya had dropped her destroyed hands into one of her bags using her feet back when Rosa took them off and seem fine with two stumps… which surprised Nebel.
“Hey Lesaya?” he asks her “Didn’t it hurt to have your hands broken off?”
She looks over at him with an easy smile “Not at all, when I saw what Rosa was about to do, I turned the pain setting to zero percent.”
Rosa starts to listen in on their conversation but they both ignore her.
“Damn… lucky… I can’t turn it off…” Nebel mutters to which Maya just laughs.
“Poor Nebel… HaHAHA!” Maya laughs.
“By the way Maya… any idea if your hands can be reattached without a respawn?” Nebel asks her
Maya puts her stumps behind her head and grins… “No idea… I guess we’ll just have to see!”
A little while later they arrive at the scene of their first job, the mission note only said that a well was unusable and that an adventurer with mutant hunting experience was needed to deal with it…
The Location of the job was a small homosexual only settlement just to the east of the city’s eastern limit, the well in question was shown to them by one of the two men that had requested the job. Near the center of the settlement was a large herb garden and small square, and between the two was the well.

“It’s so terrible…” the man tells them as he leads the way “We can’t draw water for our herbs and bushes, that thing is just… ahhh! I don’t want to talk about it!”
“Well don’t worry… sir?” Nebel says as they walking into the square and he points them towards the well “We are pretty strong and even if it is also strong we should still be able to get it out of your settlement.”
“Oh call me Mrs Brown!” he asks of Nebel…
The “flaming” man leaves them to the job and backs away, apparent scared of the monster in the well. Nebel lifts his new war hammer off of his back and while looking around the square, slowly leans over to look into the well.
The ground of square itself was made of closely fitted cobblestones and the house lining it had a Nordic village appearance that Nebel found pleasing… on the western side of the square there were lush flowering bushes and shade trees but on the other side all of the bushes and trees were bare, not a flower to be seen…
“Could it… something the mutant has done…” Nebel mutters as he peers into the wells clear water, only to see…
“Muaaaa…” the mutant let’s out while doing a back stroke lazily a few feet down from Nebel’s position…
“Ummmmm” Nebel says staring at it while feeling disappointed, opening a screen, Nebel searches for the Mutant in front of him and signs after reading the stats… and once again after reading bo’s analysis, which she apparently made on this very one…
Str: 1, Dex: 1, AGI: 1….. (Predicted Attack Power)PAP: 1….
Bo quote
This sub species of the kappa, or Japanese water demon, has apparently no ability to kill or desire either, already widely known for its beneficial properties, the flower kappa purifies the water it swims in and has been known to even help people it likes to retrieve water from its pond or well, as long as they give it a pat afterwards… the water purified by a flower kappa is perfect for the growth of all species of plant life as well as the health of humans.
Bo un-quote
“Umm” Nebel says turning towards the man that had lead him there “Mrs. Brown, are you sure this is the place?”
Rosa and Mitchell relax and take a moment to look into the well, while Mrs. Brown hesitates and Maya tries putting her right stump up against her right hand and drinking a healing potion…
“This is the only place in the village that’s like this, there’s no way it’s the wrong place!” Mrs. brown says while placing a flower into his hair “Now please…. Get rid of that, that turtle monster!”
Silence….
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Rosa and Mitchell break out laughing and Nebel nearly does to, Maya looks around confused obviously having ignored everyone the whole time she had been trying to reattach her hand.
Nebel, a little embarrassed by the way his two companions were acting closes the encyclopedia application he had opened and says loud enough for the two, roaring in laughter women, to hear “So… you have Chelonaphobia, Mrs. Brown?”
Mrs. Brown had been looking over at the two women the whole time they were laughing with a thoroughly displeased look but upon hearing his question turns his head slightly towards Nebel “Well, of course I do, why else would I mind that monster?” he waves his hand towards the well “If I could just draw water for my darling flowers I wouldn’t mind it being around, as long as I don’t have to see it, it would be great!”
Nebel nods his head and is about to suggest a little something, but a voice coming from the flowerless side of the plaza stops him.
“GET THAT DEMON OUT OF THE WELL NOW!” a large man says from an open doorway “Actually kill it! The world would be a better place without things like that!”
Nebel looks between the two men.
“Oh not you Frederick, you weirdo.” Mrs. brown says swishing his skirts a bit while placing his spread hand tips only onto his face “Don’t tell me your about to go into one of your crazy rants again…”
“Oh screw you Turtle-phobe!” the Man yells “You and your damned plants!”
“OH you mean my flowers!?” Mrs brown says slyly throwing a few blosems into the air, a few of which fall fairly close to the Man on the other side of the Plaza, who jumps away quickly.
Nebel shakes his head and looks once more at the surrounding houses, Large, buff homosexual… turtle motifs and bare plants… feminin, petite homosexual… flowers and flower motifs everywhere…
“I think I’m starting to see what’s really going on…” Nebel mutters as the two continue shouting at each other “Hey!” he shouts at them trying to get their attention as they go on about flower growth promoting water and demon turtles and what not, they both turn to look at him as the draw a deep breath “WHAT!?” they shout together.
“How did the kappa get here?” he asks them…. But that just sends them into a rant about which one of them put it there, the Anthophobiac or the Chelonaphobiac…
“You most likely wanted me to be unable to water my flowers!”
“No way! It’s way more likely that you wanted me to be unable to water my herbs so my turtles wouldn’t have anything to eat!”
“Oh a likely story! But what if you’re just saying that to make it look like you are not the culprit!”
“No way, you’re just saying I’m deflecting, to deflect!”
“I’m…”
Nebel stops listening and decides to ask someone else in this weird community about their opinion on the matter…
well I went quite a while without writing.... gomen gomen....
I was sick, then in exams.... then sick again.... damn chikungunya seems to have destroyed my immunities... or at least weakened me
I'm planning to get back into writing but i only have a blurry blue tinted screen at the moment so we'll see...
The later part of this chapter features the first minor quest taken by Nebel, no fetch quest for strangely scarce animal parts for him (dead cow doesn't have hooves?) this one is a little more unique... i hope
How you like it...
why did i write how.... I meant "hope ypu like it" lol
ok this is just getting annoying.... "YOU" not "ypu".....
and yes... im a self correcting perfectionist...
