《Just For Fun》Chapter 31: a lonely store and the preparations

Leaving the Private room behind him a certain still shocked dense man walks down the hall towards the front door of the café and the work he needed to complete.
While passing by a window he notices some lipstick smeared onto his lips and a little on his cheeks, so Nebel enters a bathroom that he had noticed on the way into the cafe and washes it off his face.
“Man… to think she likes me…” Nebel frowns at his reflection in the mirror as he thinks back and remembers a few of her actions “Well actually there were a few moments there…”
“Oh well!” Nebel says to himself before heading back out of the bathroom and straight out of the building. He had lots of girls like him before this… and he usually hadn’t noticed but when he did it hadn’t been too big of a deal afterwards.
Those that he only noticed a year or so later had mostly given up on him by then and the ones that made him notice tended to be verrryyyy temporary, out of the ones he had noticed Maya was the only one that was nearly constant and she had hung out with him for years before he noticed…
Nebel heads to a hardware store and buys a few things he would need for the next creation, in his head it was already complete and he was already learning what he needed to exterminate the goblins.
He had noticed this hardware store off of the main street a while ago when he ran from Maya with his cousins under his arms, it was a fairly large shop at the end of an alley, the building like every other one in the area was made entirely of wood, that is except the foundation which was concrete.
Straight off of the main road heading towards the train station Nebel enters said alley and finds the shop right where he remembered it. Pushing open the door he walks inside while saying “Good afternoon!” to make sure the owner, manager or clerk knew he was there.
Heading down one of many paths heading between the shelves, Nebel sees lots of miscellaneous objects scattered on them, all of them where either tools or materials but there seemed to be no rhyme or reason.
There were buckets of plaster beside a nuts and screws beside hammers. A mountain of paint was stacked beside a sign that said LAWNMOWER on it. Close to the end of the third one he walks along Nebel finds what he needs and reaches out stupidly with his left had to grab one.
The magnetic field grabs a hold of the display bracelet on his wrist and pulls it into the box full of magnets. It takes him a few minutes but he finally manages to get his hand free by using a few vectors that nearly leave him with the nickname stumpy.
This time he gets a basket from a stack he had seen beside the door and loads a few large magnets into the basket. After that he quickly figures out the “organization” of the store and from there it’s pretty to find the rest of his shopping list.
The items were arranged by main metal component, such as iron, copper, aluminum and a final one for badly recycled metal. Nebel stacks a few hinges, some brackets, a dozen long bolts and a couple stop watches into the basket along with the batteries that where already there and approaches the counter.

At the counter a young teenage girl… somewhere between fourteen and sixteen by Nebel’s estimate, is manning a battered old register, that looked like it should have stopped working a good century ago, but even in such a condition it had a card slot so Nebel would be fine.
The girl, who was painting her nails pink while looking at a mechanical diagram, intrigued Nebel but he decided to just finish his business instead of being nosy.
“Hello, I would like to buy these, here’s my card.” Nebel says and both places the basket to one side of the girl while also laying his card right in front of her right hand which was currently being painted.
He still had the ten thousand from his goblin harvest so he wasn’t worried about the cost. The girl looks up from her diagram and says to Nebel “Oh hey there… can you wait a minute? My left hand should be dry by then, I did it a while ago.”
Nebel nods to the girl and decides to give the place one more look around before coming back, he had found a diagram shoved into the junk section and the contents looked like they could be useful to him. Oh course he had picked up his card before doing this so when he returns he lays it down once more before adding the diagram to the basket.
The girl looks at him powerlessly “umm… it was kind of a figure of speech, my nails should be done anytime now. How about we talk while you wait?”
Nebel shrugs helpless at the realism of this game “Ok I guess, my names Nebel, what’s yours?”
“Oh ok, mine’s Claire.” She tells him and smiles and holds up her fist. Nebel bumps it, with his own. “So what are you looking at?” he asks her not sure what to ask
“An old washing machine diagram, I’ve got one in back and I’m going to harvest it for parts for my graduation project!” she says turning it around with her palm to show him the diagram.
“Oh pretty cool, so that’s for high school graduation?” Nebel asks her.
Claire grimaces and growls “No it’s for my military engineer training…”
Nebel looks her up and down… “Oh sorry Claire, my mistake.”
She smiles again showing off braces on her teeth. “Don’t worry about it, it’s pretty common, no one imagines I’m 21… well my left hand is done so let’s get your purchase done with.”
With one hand she selects the correct options on the cash register after counting them all. She picks up his card after showing him the price of three hundred HD and after his nod, puts it into the slot. Nebel presses his thumb against the panel and his sweat is analyzed, heartbeats detected and thumb print is checked.
The purchase finalized, Claire places his purchases into his backpack, which he holds open for her before bowing slightly and saying “Thank you for your patronage.”
Nebel thanks her back and leaves with a goodbye from the strange shop. “Hmm she’s pretty interesting…” he thinks to himself as he walks towards the train station.
On the other end of his train ride, Nebel moon runs across the plains and swiftly arrives at the forest, along the way he noticed a definite increase in the animal population, the bunnies were way more numerous and he even saw a deer run into the woods when he was getting closer.

Inside the forest itself he sees a few soldiers patrolling but otherwise nothing much happens. Arriving at the mountain pass he meets up with Mitch… umm scratch that… he meets up with Lucca who he only realizes it is by her non-existent bosom.
“Hello oh heir of glory!” she says to him and half bows before stopping herself and curtsying with red cheeks. “I figured you would head here and awaited your return. Please give me the honor of your order.”
Lucca says it in a cute tone not unlike her sister’s tone, the anger from only a little while ago gone from her voice. Nebel was relieved and made sure to give her what she wanted… at least for now.
“Watch the path leading here and tell me when Bö is about to arrive.” He orders her since it’s the only thing he can think of.
Instead of rushing off to do his biding Lucca stays put and asks him “Is that all you wish of me?” she blushes and grabs onto the hem of her shirt “All you have to do is say it and I’ll do it topless!”
Nebel nods and murmurs the last bit surprised “Topless!?” Lucca grabs the bottom of her shirt and pulls it over her head, leaving her chest bare to his view… of course that didn’t really show him much since she didn’t actually have breasts…
Ignoring her attention seeking action… most likely done out of her anger that she was just hiding… or prank that she did to mess with him, Nebel walks towards the mountain path and sets up shop at the base of the cliff he had used to kill goblins with before.
Attaching the magnets to small brackets to prepare them for mounting, Nebel adds a stop watch glued to each bracket before setting them to the side. Breaking a few rocks Nebel sets them up with the batteries to make heat collectors before setting them to the side and working on the last component he could complete before Bö came.
The last one, just like the first one he made, was a vector trap and much like the first one it was just a solar powered one with a central stone made to gather light but this one had the added piece of a stop watch and a bunch of batteries.
Having completed his work… the permanent spells seemed to get easier to make every single time he leveled up, Nebel lays back and waits for Bö to arrive.
After about an hour Bö arrives, Mitchell had already come a good twenty minutes earlier and they were studying the diagram he had picked up when she arrived. Bö was escorted by Rosa and a large man that Nebel hadn’t seen before. The man was a good two feet taller than Nebel’s already tall six feet and his width was just about double Nebel’s, on his shoulder, Bö was sitting like she was sitting with her legs in a pool and on the man’s back was a large backpack.
The gigantic Moreno kneels before Nebel and holds up his arm, Bö grabs ahold of his hand and jumps down to the ground before hugging Nebel. “Hallo Bruder!”(Hello brother) she says “What’s up?”
Nebel tells her about his idea and Bö soon agrees to help him… but she wanted the traps plans to be placed on her site. Nebel reluctantly agrees to his cute sister’s condition and draws a primitive sketch of the trap for her to put on her site.
Bo takes one look at the sketch before rolling it up and burning it… Nebel sucked at drawing and everyone knew it…
Walking up the mountain path Nebel and the whole group of the unnamed Latino giant, the little girl on his shoulder, the two girls glaring at each other behind his back and his own personal female wannabe ninja jumping between rocks to one side of the path make their way to the spot he had already decided as the best place for the trap.
The spot in question was at the point where the path left the straight up the mountain path it was taking and started to go along a cliff face. A dozen minutes farther along the path, the dying flames of Synthia’s baby could still be seen thanks to the every present column of smoke. Attaching the magnets to the walls at either side of the path, Nebel starts to create the trap and everyone does their part of it.
Lucca jumps down to where they are and puts the pieces of the solar battery permanent spell before heading back up the cliff to set it up, Bö starts to shift stone around to make the shape of the beginning of the cliff side path exactly personalized to Nebel’s trap, the Latino stands guard like a monolithic guardian deity and Mitchell lays down on some of their supplies along with Rosa to talk fashion…
After an hour of work the trap is done and the tweaking to get the timing right is mostly complete, most of the work was down to Nebel and Bö but Lucca did do her fair share by setting the components that needed to be either high up or low down.
Using Bö’s stone manipulation they create a small house like hiding spot and start to relax while they wait for the fire to die down, all except Mitchell and Rosa who had been relaxing from the start...
Next chap has the actually trap description along with some other stuff...
