《Einherjar》B2 Chapter 11- Wyvern Slayer

“So you’re going to be killing the Demon Lord today, I wish you luck.” Dante said as he finished maintenance on Einherjar’s equipment…

The benefits of knowing the higher ups, especially when the higher up was a Blacksmith, Dante was willing to do this maintenance without pay, as he grew in Skill thanks to doing the work in the first place.

“I’d say we don’t need luck but that’s a lie.” Arthur responded easily, taking the sword from Dante and vanishing it into his inventory.

Arthur really needed to get a new sword, but Dante’s skill as a smith wasn’t to the point where he could make a sword as good as Black Remorse, though he could make one as good as Arthur’s first Demon Lord weapon, Soul Flame.

Until then, Black Remorse was the best weapon Arthur could use along with his Dagger of Hunger.

“Yep, Demon Lords are assholes. I expect a report afterwards, along with the usual selling of the maps if you want?” Dante asked with a pointed look as Arthur shrugged while walking out of Dante’s workshop, glad to be out of the heat.

“I’ll let you know about the Demon Lord, but you know the maps are Emilia’s.” Dante chuckled, already knowing that Arthur would never go above his team’s head when they were involved in something.

No further words were said as Arthur met up with his team, each of them having already checked their own stats while waiting…

Arthur noted that Sidhe wasn’t with them today, unless she was hiding, but Arthur couldn’t feel her presence.

Arthur didn’t mind, his familiar was a cat, two-tailed it might be, but cats worked at their own pace, if Sidhe wanted to help she would.

On the other hand, if Arthur really needed Sidhe’s help, like with the Rusted King, then he’d call for her and she’d be there.

“Alright, we’ve already assumed that the Demon Lord was going to be a wyvern, let’s go already, I plan on playing some games when I get home.” That brought a smidge of surprise from the other members of Einherjar, even as they followed Arthur into the Dungeon door, finding themselves in the seventh Area.

“…Now that I think about it, when last have we played video games…” Michael muttered to himself, really having to think about it, and coming up short.

“Well with the Dungeon being game-like, maybe you just felt that you’ve had enough of games for the day?” Emilia joked, dodging a swat from Arthur as she giggled.

“Sure, that’s the reason. Pull the other one, it comes off.” Arthur’s sarcasm was rare these days as he usually enjoyed being upfront, but having the chance to be sarcastic, he took it.

“Games are for people who have time to waste really… if you have no time to waste, games aren’t for you.” Matt added in one of his serious moments, glancing around the nearby islands.

The islands weren’t all flat, some had hills, some were large, some were small, some had trees or crumbling walls and pillars, meaning that one couldn’t always see the enemies hiding behind objects.

“Hey I like games, and I have no time to waste… but yeah, games are for people who don’t have other things to do in the moment.” Arthur started off strong but then realized that he couldn’t really argue against Matt’s words, they were kind of true.

If playing a game was his source of income, then yes, gaming is important, but Arthur liked playing games offline, as long as the game had some form of progression he’d enjoy it.

It was why he liked being an Adventurer so much, being able to see his progression and increased strength numerically, and being able to concretely state ‘I was that strong, now I’m this strong’.

“So rather than doing other things, you want to waste an afternoon away? I approve, how about we have a gaming night after this? We could do a sleepover or something?” now some might be confused…

These are grown men and women, talking about a sleepover like little kids…

Well that’s because Arthur and the others didn’t really care about how that would be seen by others, if they wanted to hang out through the night playing video games that was their business and no one else could say anything.

“Michael, that is a great idea, but at whose house? With my parents and my siblings I’m out.” Arthur mentioned, even if his parents would have let Michael sleep over…

He was pretty sure his parents would draw the line at one or two people sleeping over, and Einherjar had five other members.

“My apartment is a bit small for that…” Emilia glanced away nervously, reminding Arthur that he couldn’t recall ever seeing Emilia’s apartment…

She said it was small, so they’d believe her.

Even if she had a great car, wore designer clothes everywhere except into the dungeon and never seemed to have money problems, they’d believe she had a small apartment.

Trust worked like that. Even if she was lying, they’d trust she had a reason.

“No.” Matt didn’t even bother giving a reason, just straight out saying that his friends weren’t going to be at his house, understandable, he lived with his parents who were extremely lenient with their son.

Matt was actually quite spoilt, but he didn’t act like it often, so in respect for all that his parents did for him, he never brought his problems home… they were disappointed in him for a while, but he was still spoilt regardless.

His friends were noisy enough in a group that they counted as a ‘problem’ when in his house.

“I’m poor.” John was giving a nonsensical excuse given that every member of Einherjar knew exactly how much money John earned from Dungeon diving every day.

They got the same amount after all.

And even then, money wasn’t really an issue with friends, but John seemed to have issues with his own apartment… he had moved out of his college’s accommodations, but he was still working on a budget apparently.

You kept your money by not using it.

“That leaves us. Sure, we have the space, since the rest of the family moved.” Michael seemed to think about it for a bit.

Arthur really did miss his friend’s family, even if Michael and Alice weren’t there Arthur was always welcome in their home…

Arthur was quite surprised when he visited one day expecting the two to be there, and instead only finding the rest of the family…

He was sitting at their table eating lunch uncertain of what had just happened, with Michael and Alice walking in half an hour after the food was gone.

But after the surprise that was Red Sky Day, the family had moved with the exception of Michael and Alice, the two living off of money sent to them until they started Dungeon diving with the rest of Einherjar.

They had stayed because they didn’t feel comfortable leaving their home.

“That’s decided, Matt, you handle drinks, Emilia and I’ll get food, John, you going to go with Matt?” even in party planning Arthur wanted order, getting a roll of the eyes from the healer.

“Right, right, I’ll make sure we get the strong stuff for you.” John said, knowing that Arthur only drank stronger drinks except for absurd things with alcohol contents like fifty or ninety proof.

“And obviously we have venue. Arthur, Emilia, don’t do anything Matt would do.” The two shared a blush at the insinuation while Arthur picked a path to go to the next floor.

“We haven’t…” Arthur started before shutting up, knowing that he shouldn’t say such things to his friends, though there was a surprising stare at Arthur and then Emilia.

After questioning how the hell Arthur could have such a beautiful girlfriend and not sleep with her, and finding all answers strange and yet understandable, Einherjar moved on, they had a boss fight to complete after all.

Entering the Dungeon at about half past eight, it was around two that they found themselves in front of the stairs to the Demon Lord ‘floor’ and walking down after preparing themselves for a battle.

“Hey Arthur, before we fight for our lives, you keep an ear on the ground for innovations for Adventurers, any news on support items?” John asked, as this was an important part of his role being the support unit of Einherjar.

“Potions are still being worked on, though some weaker ones have been created, they’d heal large cuts on low level Adventurers but would barely fix a paper cut on Adventurers with high Constitution such as Matt.” Matt smirked.

“Unlike healing spells, potions don’t work on normal humans either, they only work on Adventurers, meaning they probably require Mana inside the body to activate.” Arthur added on, making John nod in agreement.

He was the healer after all, his position wouldn’t mean as much if items could replace him… even if items weren’t as certain as he was.

“Ichiro’s Enchanter is still working on creating an escape item to quickly leave the Dungeon, but he claims that he’ll probably have a breakthrough by the next rank… if he does get it right, that would probably be the most expensive item for sale.” No one could deny it, the option to quickly leave the Dungeon was near priceless.

With the way Adventuring currently worked, Adventurers needed to be able to fight to a floor and back, lest they die.

Rushing through floors would only leave Adventurers killed on the way back, which was why Einherjar always returned to the surface after finding a new floor.

With an escape item, an Adventurer team could rush as far as they could, without worry for tiring, and the moment they couldn’t go any further, just use item and be outside the Dungeon.

With that last bit, they stood, about to enter the ‘arena’ and Arthur looked to the Einherjar and nodded, they already knew the idea on how to fight if it really was a wyvern they’d be fighting.

Walking out into the arena, the group found themselves looking at a ruin…

Well, ruin would be relative, it looked well maintained bar a few patches of moss, and it looked kind of like those speaking areas the Greeks used for their political assemblies.

And in the middle of the arena was, in fact, a wyvern... a fully grown one, resting.

And atop it was an armoured being, an evil looking spear leaning on his shoulder as he sat on the wyvern.

“Oh? Finally, opponents…” the being seated on the wyvern stood, slamming his spear against the wyvern loudly, making the beat roar in annoyance, moving from its resting position into a standing one, the man standing on its back.

The fully grown wyvern was about five metres tall at minimum, and its wings, from what Arthur could see, were probably somewhere around three and a half metres when stretched out, and its body was maybe three, four metres wide, its legs angular but its body bulky, its tail waving behind it slowly.

The more worrying part about this whole situation was the man walking along the wyvern, standing on its head now.

“Lord Chronos said that it was likely that enemies would be approaching soon, and he sure delivered… oh yeah, greetings and all that…” the armoured being fiddled with its helmet, unclicking some strap, removing the helmet.

Einherjar felt themselves all take a breath upon seeing the human staring back at them with spiky red hair and pearly teeth locked into a grin, though those teeth looked a bit too predatory to be normal.

“I’m supposed to be exuding some aura of a Demon Lord, that majesty… screw that, I’m a fighter, not some ‘lord’.” The man said, holding his helmet under his armpit, other hand holding his spear which was pointing at Einherjar, specifically Arthur who stood in front.

“I am Gerard Sky-wing, Wyvern Slayer, and I am the ninth Demon Lord of Babylon.” The man then heard the growl of his wyvern, getting him to look down, stomping his foot slightly.

“This overgrown lizard is actually the only wyvern I spared, Scar is my mount… he is also more intelligent than the usual wyvern.” The beast below his feet seemed to preen at the praise, showing that yes, it was in fact intelligent despite being a wyvern.

“I am Arthur Clive, leader of the Einherjar and strongest Adventurer. I take it you understand what will be happening?” Arthur said, his dagger appearing in his hand, Black Remorse in his right.

“Of course I know we’re going to fight, that’s the only reason I accepted this position! I love to fight! Fighting is all I’m good for!” Gerard roared, the wyvern roaring in agreement with Gerard, opening its wings slightly, letting the group see the tears in its wings… no wonder it was named Scar.

“Before we fight though… just for personal curiosity, what happened to this place, before Chronos happened?” Arthur asked, Gerard pausing in his laughter to look at Arthur, a deep look on his face.

“Huh, you sure knocked the wind out of my sails there… well have you seen the deep blue below?” Gerard asked, and the shivers Einherjar felt got Gerard to nod, seeing they knew.

“Well that thing inside there is so powerful its sheer presence forced our planet to become a ball of water with the land floating above it. It is a beast of water, and so rejects all other things.” Gerard looked around, shrugging.

“So life adapted to the air, the sky islands, humans too… of course, we were under threat by things like those Zephyr birds, and the Boom birds and more monsters that lived back then… but wyverns were our main problem.” Gerard then lifted his helmet, looking into where his eyes would sit when he wore it.

“We were in trouble, humans could grow strong, but there was a limit… then I found Scar here, about to be killed by a rival wyvern.” Gerard surprisingly knelt, patting Scar’s head passively.

“I knew he was a monster, I’d be glad if a wyvern died… but he fought back, and I must admit, it was inspiring, he couldn’t fly and yet he fought back? I decided to help him on a whim.” Gerard then smirked, and the wyvern’s lips curled, showing razor shop teeth in an imitation of a grin.

“We ended up killing that wyvern with the two of us working together… and then I went back to my home, a hero, Gerard the Wyvern Slayer!” Gerard raised his helmet to the air, turning it and placing it on his head once more.

“It was a lie. I mean, I’m strong, don’t get me wrong… but a wyvern was not something I could kill alone at the time. But I accepted my role, and Scar and I fought… and fought.”

Gerard held his spear out to his side, dropping backwards onto a saddle on Scar’s neck, the wyvern lowering its neck so that Gerard was glaring at them from only a slightly higher position.

“And then the lie became reality. Before lord Chronos appeared, I was finally able to really kill a wyvern by myself… then he came and obliterated me, devoured me like I was nothing.” Gerard added, his anger palpable as he pointed his spear at Arthur.

“So this was your home and Chronos destroyed it… I’m sorry for your loss… but.” Arthur felt his Mana course through his veins, the sparks spreading along, drawing a wide eyed stare and grin from Gerard even if no one could see it.

“The past no impact on our current fight.” Arthur said, and the unseen signal was felt, Matt sliding in front of Arthur, everyone getting into formation without further word.

“You’re right! Let’s go, Scar!” the wyvern dashed forward, roaring as the best swung its wing at Matt, who was smirking even as the rest of Einherjar moved to the opposite wing.

“Fuck off!” Matt roared in return, his skin turning silver for a moment as he bent a knee, attacking the wing with his shield.

There was a loud bang, a roar from Scar and a curse from Matt as the wing bounced backwards and Matt stumbled backwards, even his insane ‘weight’ unable to stop the attack of such a massive creature.

Unstoppable force, meet immovable object.

“Holy shit he’s good.” Gerard said in surprise, but he was only looking at Matt from the corner of his vision…

The majority of his focus was on the other members of team Einherjar, Michael moving towards one of the pillars while launching arrow after arrow at Gerard, hoping to tie the actual Demon Lord down.

Gerard’s spear lashed out, the end looking like a jagged saw with a point rather than a blade, each blur knocking an arrow away, getting a curse from Michael.

Arthur didn’t mind, whether Michael hit the Demon Lord or not, Arthur was certain that Gerard wouldn’t die so easily.

From the story, Gerard was human, and without the assistance of Chronos’ Contract, he managed to become strong enough to kill a flying version of the very beast he rode on.

Clearly Einherjar were growing faster at an alarming pace compared to humans on these other dimensions… but none of Einherjar could kill Scar alone, let alone a flying version of that wyvern.

No way would Gerard die from one arrow. Heck, even John, who had the lowest constitution of the team, would probably take a few hits from Michael to die so long as no hits got his head.

That wasn’t saying that Michael was weak, it was just that being hard to kill was a hallmark of a strong Adventurer, low Constitution or not.

Arthur had no doubt that Michael was going to get mad at some point and do something to increase his damage output by a huge amount.

Gerard watched Arthur approach with interest, readying his spear, and stabbing out, and Arthur didn’t dare block, instead twisting, lashing out with Black Remorse against Gerard’s chest.

While the Demon Lord’s chest shook back from the impact, there was only a tiny line showing that Gerard just got hit by Arthur, and Arthur narrowed his eyes.

Arthur didn’t have much more time to focus, having to twist in mid-air to prevent himself from having a hole in his chest, the air pressure from the attack actually pushing Arthur back a bit, leaving Arthur staring with wide eyes as he landed.

Scar wasn’t still either, the wing closest to Arthur being swung to hit Arthur and hopefully also take Matt out in the process, and Arthur cursed as he acted.

Instead of running away from the blow, as some ought to do, Arthur ran towards the massive wing sweeping towards him, dropping into a slid and holding his sword upwards, catching on one of those tears in Scar’s wing and stretching out the tear.

The beast roared in pain, shaking its wing upwards, catching Arthur’s blade and dragging Arthur up and into the air with wide eyed surprise.

In all honesty, were it not for the fact that they were in a fight, every member of Einherjar would have been laughing.

The wing slammed back down, aiming to clap Arthur against the ground, but Matt was there, standing with his shield aimed upwards to block the winged blow.

“No!” Gerard shouted, the wing pulling back to its resting position quickly, drawing a click of the tongue from Matt as Arthur rolled away after landing with a thud.

Had Scar actually hit Matt’s shield, he would have found quite a few new wholes in his wings given that Matt’s shield had spikes on it.

So instead Scar swapped attack avenues, turning to face away from Matt… and Scar was a creature with a tail.

That tail knocked Matt flying even after he prepared, surprising the tank as he crashed into a pillar with a quiet grunt before he dropped to his feet, shaking his shoulders and running back into the fight.

Arthur, realizing that his role in Demon Lord fights… really wasn’t attacking first, stepped back.

Arthur’s role in Demon Lord fights was usually being the last to attack, and identifying a way to defeat the Demon Lord.

He was getting quite good at analysing his opponents on the fly, so with a bit of space, not enough to be knocked off the flying ruin, Arthur looked at Scar and Gerard with narrowed eyes.

“Armour, damn powerful, spear attacks are either quick and light or slow and so heavy they could probably punch into Matt… mounted fighter, but can fight well without wyvern too.” Arthur first broke down what he knew of Gerard, mumbling to himself as Scar found its side attacked by Alice with a spear…

Spear. Looking at Gerard’s armour, Arthur noted that it was similar to the scales on his mount, even if it was layered close enough to still appear like solid piece, it was scale mail.

His mount and Gerard had the same weakness, and looking to the helmet Gerard wore, Arthur winced at how he was going to be ending the fight.

Even if it was disgusting.

“Okay, ignoring that, Scar… can’t fly… tail, wings, legs for stomping, can’t turn well actually despite attacking Matt… stay away from mouth, obviously… that can’t be it.” Arthur looked closer, knowing that there was no Demon Lord without some hidden mechanic.

Even Blade had a hidden mechanic, even if his was detrimental to himself in that he super-charged his physical abilities in exchange for low durability.

Now for one, Gerard clearly wasn’t using Mana just yet, so Arthur had no idea what his element was, though Arthur was a bit hesitant to say Fire based on his hair and temperament.

Fight junkies were stereotypically fire or lightning, and the man had red hair, it was a classic.

For the other, Scar… the pillars.

Scar was large, so large he couldn’t escape this encirclement… and he couldn’t fly… so how did he get in and out back before Chronos?

Only answers were, jumping, which was impossible, a wyvern’s legs were digitigrade, they seemed to bend backwards though that bend was actually its ankle.

Arthur whispered a quiet thank you to National Geographic before continuing with his breakdown.

The wyvern just couldn’t jump over these pillars, it didn’t have the room to jump forward like that, and jumping upward would be painful for the wyvern… Arthur at least thought it would be.

And then seeing Emilia flip over a massive wing, Arthur saw the tiny claws where the wings would typically start curving…

Baby wyverns didn’t have those, but adult wyverns apparently had claws, which they could use to grip things.

And the pillars had a lot of markings on them, artwork, grooves… handholds.

Arthur ran back in with a shout.

“Alice, keep using the spear, maybe even a rapier if you feel like it, Michael, aim at the wyvern!” Arthur started, the two mentioned narrowing their eyes before nodding in understanding.

“Emilia, stabs, not slashes, aim for its wing joints, Matt, you know your job, just watch out for Emilia’s landing zones!” The next two moved into action, attacking Scar as well, and Arthur made sure not to say anything to John.

He was at his best when left to his own devices, and most Demon Lords never noticed him anyway…

Arthur was wondering, how high ranked was John’s stealth Skill at this point?

“Aiming for Scar instead of me? Ha, seems you all think it will be that simple, divide and conquer?” Arthur had actually been hoping for this…

Watching Gerard leap off of Scar’s neck, landing in front of Arthur, both hands on his spear, and the wyvern focusing on everyone but Arthur, Arthur carefully kept his smirk from forming on his face.

“Oh… I know it won’t… but that’s the fun, isn’t it?” Arthur appealed to Gerard’s fight junky nature, getting a chuckle from the Demon Lord…

As sparks began to fly off of him, leaving Arthur staring with wide eyes as Gerard vanished.

Arthur cursed as he spun away from a blow, then jumped backwards to dodge another, noticing that he had in fact gotten hit, his cheek having a burning gash on it and his chest plate having a miniscule dent right in the centre.

Like Gerard, Arthur was sparking.

“Oh, you also practice the same kind of magic as I do? Well come on then, I want to savour this before it’s gone!” Gerard rushed forward and Arthur dashed back, his sword blurring to try and swat Gerard’s strikes away, sometimes succeeding, sometimes finding his wrist paining instead as Arthur was forced to face someone with his same magic.

“Oh that’s bull-” Alice was interrupted when Scar screamed in anger, Emilia stabbing her daggers into Scar’s leg, the creature lifting its leg and shaking Emilia off, turning to strike its attacker and meeting the nigh unbreakable shield that was Matt.

“Kill wyvern first, then complain!” Michael shouted, infusing his arrows with Light rather than Fire, thinking that wyvern’s were more inclined to like Fire than hate it.

Using piercing attacks, the group actually found Scar’s defences to be much weaker, not as impenetrable as they thought.

Baby wyvern’s had no scales, only leathery skin similar to cows, meaning that slash attacks still worked, but with scales, piercing damage was the way to go, aiming for the many, many tiny gaps in that armour.

The beast was bleeding in short time, growling and snarling at its enemies while its master chased Arthur around the arena… then Gerard noticed what was happening and let loose a sharp whistle.

Scar’s animalistic, yellow eyes widened, its pupil narrowing to a vertical line as it moved forward, moving towards the pillars as it did so.

“What the heck?” John whispered to himself after healing Arthur’s piling up wounds, staring as Scar dipped down for a moment.

“It can crawl along the pillars, Michael get ready!” Arthur’s words surprised his own teammates, getting a barking laugh from Gerard who feinted an attack, getting Arthur to misstep for a moment.

“Surprised you figured it out!” Gerard’s words must have been a trigger, for Scar climbed up the side of the pillars, staring at the nearby enemies, jaws snapping out to kill Alice or Emilia, knowing by now to not hit Matt on purpose.

Both of the girls jumped back, Matt rushing from the side and slamming his hammer into Scar’s skull, causing it to buckle a bit before it drew back to the safety of height.

Piercing, and blunt force worked apparently… though blunt force probably only worked on sensitive places like the stomach area and the head.

Arthur didn’t have time to focus on that, as he finally stopped running, surprising Gerard when Arthur instead buckled forward, his Dagger lashing out at the spear, his sword, stabbing forward at great speeds.

There was a crack and a curse from Gerard as he got hit in the shoulder of his off hand, his other hand swiping with his spear to create distance between him and Arthur, who jumped back the moment his attack struck true.

“Damn it that stung… wait… oh shit you have Blade’s swordsmanship, no wonder that first hit actually left a mark on my armour.” Gerard cursed, grabbing his left shoulder, the armour cracked and slight amounts of blood leaking from the cracks.

With a pull, crack and wince, Gerard reset his shoulder, even if it still hurt he could at least use it again.

“Thanks, I try. Now come on. My team is getting ready to end this, I think you’re ready for it to end too.” Gerard widened his eyes, looking at his hands, noticing the sparks fading slightly… and looking to Arthur, his spell was still going strong.

“Ah. You have more magic than me… then I guess this is my last strike.” Gerard then held his spear, right hand near the base of the haft, his left hand towards the tip, sparks leaving Gerard and condensing instead on the blade of his spear.

Scar, noticing what was happening, roared mournfully before turning to look at the other ‘four’ members of Einherjar, and pulling itself closer to the columns.

“Fuck.” Matt cursed, realizing what was about to happen and getting Alice and Emilia to step back, if Matt wasn’t shouting, it was serious, and then the final exchange occurred.

Scar leapt, attempting to crush or bite Matt and those he guarded, either or…

Gerard thrust out with his spear, a bolt of lightning travelling perpendicular to the ground instead of from the sky, heading straight for Arthur…

Matt activated his Metal Skin ability even as an arrow sped straight towards Scar’s left eye… and a sword flew towards the other.

Arthur saw the build up for the attack, and his Dagger of Hunger was in front of him…

Scar screamed in pain as its eyes were forced shut forever, blinded as it was, it tried to attack Matt, biting just slightly too early to remove his arm, leaving it to instead crash into Matt, it’s whole body surprisingly slowing down and stopping just there.

Gerard watched with wide eyes as his attack, meant to pierce Arthur and kill him, was sucked into the vicious fang-like dagger Arthur used in the fight, Arthur’s smirk appearing in full force.

Alice and Emilia, taking the chance produced by Matt, John and Michael, attacked Scar’s neck, cutting deep, a slow, but fatal blow.

Arthur added his own Mana to the volatile mix within his Dagger of Hunger, thrusting outwards at Gerard, his own attack being sent back at him and even stronger than before.

Scar felt the pain of having its neck slit, and its eyes blinded, and knew it would be dying now, and instead of thrashing, kept still… it had died once before, and it didn’t mind dying again, even as it tried to nudge Matt’s shield even more.

Gerard couldn’t stop the bolt from hitting him, being able to take in another’s Mana and send it back even stronger, it was impossible for most…

As Gerard felt his muscles seizing up, his eyes wide as he watched Arthur dash forward, hand coming up to grab Gerard’s helmet, other hand holding the dagger aimed at his eye, Gerard thought back to his last fight before now…

Chronos had taken his magic and redirected it as well… and when the Dagger struck true, and Gerard felt a part of his soul leave him, he realized that Dagger was really similar to Chronos.

That insatiable hunger…

Gerard smirked as he died. He had a good fight, and the two who defeated him might kill each other… Gerard could see it happening with Arthur’s ability being so similar to Chronos…

Whichever of the two died, he’d fight them in the afterlife, if there was one.

He was Gerard sky-wing, the Wyvern Slayer after all!

Though he really felt sorry for Arthur… the beast in the ocean was also devoured by Chronos after all.
