"What if I am?"
"Hah. So it's you, huh? Stand up. Come on so that I could beat the sh!t out of you."
"Seriously, huh? You bastards are going at it even though it's still the first day?"
"I said stand up."
"Make me."
The guy who also has a good build grabbed Takeshi on his collar and lift him from the chair.
"Now. I could beat you to a pulp, right?"
"Hey!" Another voice interfered.
"Huh!?"
"Put him down. Don't cause a commotion here."
"And who are you?"
"I said put him down. Don't make me say it twice."
"What if I don't want to?"
"It's up to you. But I hope you won't regret it."
"You have balls, you shithead. Fine. I'll drop him down. Both of you come to me. Once I fucked you both up then I'll be claiming the whole first year with my crew."
"No." Takeshi said
"Huh?"
"I won't fight. He'll be enough, bring your boys. This guy will mess you up real bad."
"Mess me up!? Hahahahahaha, come on! Let's see. Once I beat this bastard. You coward will be next."
"Bro. Mess him up first. He kicked me in the nuts!"
"Nah… I'm pretty sure he won't go away so let's store him for later. I'll give him to you later then."
"Okay. I'll make sure to end his bloodline when we do that."
"Leave them alone. That's all I've gotta say."
"Hey. Where are you goin'!?"
"It's the first day of school. It's not gonna look good if there is already a fight since the first day."
"Hah! I don't care. Come at me! I'll break your bones."
"Oi, oi."
"Huh!? Another one?"
"Could you please turn your voice down? I'm tired and sleepy. It's messing with my head."
"Hah. So it'll be two against me, huh?"
"I'm telling you this, big guy. Shut. Up."
"Hah. What's with that look? Do you think I'm intimidated? All of you! I'll show you why I'm the boss here!"
"…"
Then. As if there wasn't a thing called gravity. He flew and with a huge thud, he fell onto the ground with his jaw aching.
"You're all talk."
He had been kicked.
"W-what happened?" He wondered.
"Boss! you alright!?" One of the members of his crew came running.

"O-of course I am! That bastard…. Did he just kicked me!?"
"Y-yes boss."
"Bastard."
"B-boss, what should we do?"
"I'll beat him up don't worry. He just caught me off guard." He goes up and came running to the person that kicked him to the air.
"You want more?"
The man kicked towards his head but he evaded and in return winds up a huge, powerful punch in return.
"You're dead!"
"…"
It made a cracking sound. Or so he thought as the guy also dodged quickly grounded his foot that had been used to kick to take a step and at that moment. It was as if he's been hit by a one-ton truck.
It was. The spinning back kick.
"Guaahaaa!"
Being hit by this move surely knock him out cold.
"B-boss!"
"That's enough. Your boss is knocked out. Go scramming." The previous guy who first steps up told them.
They then quickly lift their boss and goes away.
"Hey. You got some moves."
"I don't want compliments." As he goes back to his previous seat.
"Whew. That's good Suda-san. They're gone."
"Yeah."
"Hey. You alright?" He asked Takeshi.
"Yeah. Thank you for your help."
"Ah… I'm not the one who helped you. It's that guy over there."
"Doesn't matter. Thank you anyway."
"Hah. Sure."
"Toshiro Takahashi."
"Takeshi Suda."
"Oh. Nice to meet you. Can we be friends then?"
"Sure."
"Okay."
"I'll be going back to my group now. Somebody there might be needing me to go back now."
"Hmn"
"Bye."
"He looks cool Suda-san."
"Just call me Takeshi now. You're permitted."
"Oh? We're close friends now?"
"Maybe."
"Hah. Alright, Takeshi-san."
"…"
They continued eating the ramen and gets back to their classroom after lunch.
After then. All lessons are finished and it's 3:00 PM. They got out of school and heads home.
"Umm… Can I just call you Sui-kun from now on? Haruyama-san?"
Which he simply replied with a nod.
"Umm… Where's your home? Can we all just walk together?"
He declined and simply walks away.
"Eh? Did I say something wrong? Let's just go home together. Takeshi-san."
"Sure. If we're bound to go the same way after all. Then I'm fine with it."
"Okay! Let's go!"
"But I have a part-time. I don't think I could go all the way to my house."

"Really!? 'Kay. It's alright. If you said so."
"Let's go."
"Yes!"
They continued walking and Mitsuo told him the direction of his house.
"This is a shortcut Takeshi-san. It's near to that convenience store you're talking about! And also near my home. If we don't take this. It'll take us another fifteen minutes on a detour."
"Yeah. It's alright. As long as it's fast. I'll be late at work after all."
They got onto a dark alley and then halfway through it.
"Oi Mitsuo."
"Uhh!"
"Somebody you know?"
A group of smoking people called them.
"T-they are delinquents. They always take money from me."
"You got five-hundred yen?"
"Umm… I have."
"Good. Give us."
As soon as he is pulling out money from his purse.
"Stop…. Why are you doing this, Mitsuo? Are you always giving them money?"
"Y-yeah. I have to. Or else they'll beat me up."
"Don't. Don't ever give them. Also. Stop walking in this alley you call shortcut if they'll be doing this and robbing from you."
"…"
"It's alright to be a coward. As long as you have the things important for you. And one of those like every other people value is money. And fight when you have to."
"Y-yes. But I can't beat many guys."
"There's only six of them. You seem to be working out. It's alright. You can do this."
"B-but! Even though I'm working out I never fought in my entire life!"
"Hey!! Stop chitchatting you bullsh!ts give us money! And for making us wait. Double it."
"Really?"
"Yeah!"
"Fine. I'll have to double the pain too, I guess."
"Y-you're fighting them!?"
"Six is nothing compare to how many I fought before."
"Huh?"
"Don't worry. I got my trusty friend over here."
He then took out an expandable baton from his shoulder bag.
"Hold on this. This will be finished in seconds." And he gave his bag.
"Eh?"
"I'll give you five-thousand yen if you're able to beat me up."
"Hah. Such a cheeky brat just because he has a weapon. You sure you could handle the six of us!? Huh, pretty face!?"
Better save for now.
He opens the system and saved. After then he gets back.
"Let's have some fun. Come."
"Beat him to death!"
"Sure!"
"No need to tell us!"
The first one lunges but he simply evaded and whipped him onto the back of his neck with the baton which then dropped unconscious.
The next one appeared to punch and as he evaded it. He hit his shoulder and right knee which made him kneel onto the ground and then hit him exactly at the center of his forehead as he casually walks as if it was nothing.
"Y-you bastard!"
"What? Are you afraid?"
"Y-you're dead!"
He kicked towards his head but Takeshi simply sways back and using the baton to hit him multiple times onto the face. With the final hit onto the temple which he also dropped after then.
"Now. Three."
"Let's just go at him together!"
They all came at once but Takeshi is not only good at handling his baton. He's also extremely fast.
"I used to be a runner. Idiots."
As the fastest caught up to him. He hit him directly onto the knee and onto the chin once he felt the pain.
There is a nearby iron pipe which Takeshi picked up and dashed to the next one. Hit him on the side and multiple times onto the face as he did to the other one.
"Last one."
"M-monster! Go away! W-we won't mess with you again!"
"No. You already messed with us."
"P-please! I'm begging you!"
"Mitsuo."
"Y-yes!"
"Try fighting this guy."
"Eh!? I told you Takeshi-san. I never fought before!"
"It'll all come together once you're in a fight. Go ahead. Try it."
"So. I have to punch him in the face something like that?"
"Yes."
"Okay. P-please. Drop dead immediately or else both of us will…"
"Do your best. Both of you."
"It'll all come together. Okay."
The delinquent strikes and before he hits. He's blown away.
It's the previous kick the guy in the cafeteria did that sent the big person away. He knows how to execute that?
But the dude immediately came back up.
"That hurts on the chin. You bastar–"
At that moment. He too. As if being hit by a wrecking ball.
Spinning back kick.
"Sigh– that's what you mean? Takeshi-san?"
"Y-yeah."
This bastard is talented.
"Now you know what to do when there are bullies. Don't let them again."
"Sure!"
They continued walking and eventually reached their destinations.

Lone: The Wanderer [Dropped Version (includes original draft of the rewrite's first volume)]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] A/N: This story is in the middle of a rewrite, so please forgive any noticeable plot holes and wonky chapter numbers. I am working on it every day, so understanding would be greatly appreciated. The new cover art is a courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge
