《Gotta Gacha》Chapter 4: A Bloody Day in the Forest

I look out the window it’s already morning huh. Last night was rather tiring, but I suppose I should get up and start moving. I slowly clench my fist, over before opening it revealing my palm. With all the time I spent training back on earth, I’ve gotten a good grasp of my body. But this feels so weird.

When I fought that Dire Wolf Leader, and those Goblins I didn’t receive enough damage to confirm, but this is definitely my old body. Several things were removed like the nano-machines, and the side-effect of those drugs but something couldn’t be so easily taken out remain.

My bones for one still seem to be as hard as ever. These bones were specially reinforced in the lab, whenever I was injured heavily they would remove my bones and instead of putting them back they created new ones. These bone are incomparably tougher than your average bones. My cognitive capabilities, and eyesight don’t seem to have weakened too much either, but my muscles don’t seem to be able to exhibit as much power as before.

I slowly inspect my arm, as I feel my muscles, veins, and tendons. They remained the same, but something seems to be limiting my strength. Is this because of the system these gods put in place, or is it because my actual limiter has been put back in place.

It seems like all I can do is continue leveling up. I can rely on equipment and stats to raise my strength rapidly, but I shouldn’t slack off either. I should go and get some practice, I suppose the old routine should do.

I get of the bed, and head on down stairs. As I enter the lobby, I’m greeted by the loud chatter of all the other guests who were in the midst of a hearty breakfast. From the looks of it they’re most likely adventurers.

There are a few who wear robes, a few whose clothes seem to be outfitted with bones, and a number who wore pieces of iron attached to their clothes.

“Oy, kid what’s your name?” (???)

I look over to the voice calling me to find a middle aged lady holding a wood tray of food pointing at me. I raise a finger, and point at myself to confirm whether or not she’s talking about me.

“Mhmm”(???)

She nods, and quickly distributes the food on her tray to the hungry adventurers sitting on the nearby wooden table.

“Ma’am my name’s Blade.” (Blade)

“Blade huh? The name’s Helen, so what in the world did ya do to get my daughter so riled up in the morning?” (Helen)

“Daughter? Are you her mother?” (Blade)

“Damn right boy, better remember it. We’ve been dealing with your kind for years, and if ya try any of this funny business, you’ll be lucky I give you a piece of my mind before Joe rips ya a new one.” (Helen)

“Joe?” (Blade)

“The owner of this here establishment, now go and sit your ass down while I get your ass some breakfast.” (Helen)

Helen, puts her tray in between her arms and walks towards the kitchen.

“I’ll excuse myself for a bit.” (Blade)

She hears me, and turns around.

“Whatta ya doin? Ain't got no room to eat?” (Helen)

“No, if it’s fine I’ll eat a little later. I’m just going to start my morning routine.” (Blade)

“Routine? Ah, this is an inn ya don’t need to do anything here. Don’t worry I’ll send Joe to fetch the water and the wood. Just get over here and eat.”(Helen)

Ah, I suppose that’s what most people would refer to when they mention morning routine.

“No, I’m just going out to work up a sweat first. A little training that’s all.”(Blade)

“Training? Well you can go out back over there. We got a few dummies if you want, feel free to use them no one ever uses them anymore anyway.” (Helen)

“I see, I’ll take you up on your offer.” (Blade)

I walk outside into the backyard. I take of my shirt and leave it on a rather worn down wooden chair. They don’t seem to maintain the backyard too often, the grass is overgrown and everything seems to be a bit worn down. But I don’t exactly need anything in particular right now so this works.

Let’s see I don’t need to focus too much on actually strengthening my body, I just need to recover my former strength for now. Besides stats can fulfill that role far more easily than actually training.

I should focus on retaining my skills, techniques, and accustoming myself to a body this weak. No, retaining them isn’t enough, I need to change them as well. This world is too different, I’m used to killing those with firearms, and explosives but this world shouldn’t have those things, or at least the possibility that someone was able to recreate it here is unlikely.

I need to accustom myself to fighting against those who use swords and shields, as well as magic. Not only that , but the wildlife here only resemble the ones on Earth, those Dire Wolves are far stronger than your average wolf.

I start out my workout with a few warm ups to get my body in a good condition, this way I can minimize the likelihood of damaging my body. Though with how much my bodies been messed with it’s a lot harder for me to injure myself than others, especially since I can’t exert as much force.

After a few stretches, I walk over to a box by the inn and grabbed a wooden sword. Hmm, these aren’t in the best condition either. Not only that, but it’s quite flimsy, and it’s so light. Swinging this thing around might be fine, but if I were to hit anything I’m sure it would break. I guess I won’t be using those wooden dummies over there.

I grasp the wooden sword in my hand tightly, and lower it below my waist. As I ready my stance, and I close my eyes the world before me fades away. As I open my eyes the scene before me completely changes.

I stand there motionless in this lush green forest surrounded by enemies. This is no longer the backyard of a simple frontier village inn, this is my battlefield. Everyone in sight is a threat, a foe, an enemy and nothing will come to save me. Whether it’s the wolves, or the goblins, or the men, or the women, they are all out to kill me.

As I charge forward so do they and we begin to clash. I maintain my form as I charge through all the enemies slowly whittling them down, and as soon as I’ve killed all of them even more appear before me in an endless wave.

Covered in sweat, I dodge the number of swords and spears coming at me. I lower my center of gravity, and make a quick sprint forward as I lower my sword to cut their ankles.

I suppose It’s about time, my biological clock tells me it’s been around an hour. A large number of men and women charge at me with their weapons, yelling at the top of their lungs. I close my eyes, and stand motionless.

As soon as I open my eye’s I’ve returned to the backyard of the inn. To my right is the same old inn, to my left is the wooden fence, and in front of me are two worn down dummies.

This was a type of visual training often conducted in the labs since they we’re limited in the number of tests they could do in secret. This type of training would usually be conducted using either special compounds designed to simulate actual combat through holograms and androids, through the usage of the virtual reality which we were often testing, or through hypnosis induced by the nano machines in my brain.

However after the I escaped the lab the nano machines in my brain were naturally tampered with and I could no longer use them reach a hypnotic state. So instead of relying on the nano machines I learned to use a self-hypnosis to reach a self-induced hypnotic state that was similar to the visual training from before.

The only difference is the lack of information. Nano machines weren’t just inducing a hypnotic state, but filling my brain with all sorts of information. This information was used to create the high level of realism, and made sure our enemies equipment was up to date.

Without the nano machines, I became far more limited in the number of scenarios I could create during hypnosis. For example I was only able to use Humans, Goblins, Wolves, and Snakes in this battle because those are the only things I’ve seen in this world so far. And I have too little information about Adventurers, so I changed their fighting style to modern day Martial Arts from Earth.

It would be simple if there was just a book on how everything fought, even if I don’t have access to nano machines it’s still better than nothing. Well I should go eat breakfast, I need to prepare to take care of those goblins.

“Bravo!” (???)

I hear cheers to I’m right, and as I turn I notice that I’m being observed by the different men and women who were busy eating breakfast. The inn’s receptionist Claire walked through the door with a towel in hand and offered it to me.

“Um, please use this” (Claire)

“Thanks” (Blade)

“That will be 1 Copper” (Helen)

Helen leans on the window, and tells me the price.

“Mom!” (Claire)

“What’s wrong with charging him a copper? You have no business sense” (Helen)

Claire turns beet red, and turns to me to tell me

“You don’t have to pay for the towel, but if you’d like some hot water that’ll be 10 copper.”

She promotes some of the inns services, before she quickly turns around and runs away.

“Ahaha, they grow up so fast.” (Helen)

I dry myself off with that towel and toss it over to Helen, who catches it and stuffs it in her apron.

“You know you’re really something kid.” (Helen)

“Hmm?” (Blade)

“You're like one of those Sword Saints from the capital you know that? There’s no one around here who moves like you do. And no one in these parts who would train in the sun for so long either. Now come on in and eat breakfast would ya? It’s gonna get cold.” (Helen)

Sword Saint's huh? My swordsmanship might not be the best, but I’m no amateur. However I hardly had to use these skills. Would I be able to win against a Sword Saint?

I’m going to have prepare myself should an event ever arise. Besides it’s not like I have to fight a sword saint with a sword.

I put on my shirt, and went back in to have a meal. The meal was some bread, soup, egg, and chicken. But the portions were surprisingly large, and it was quite a filling meal.

Afterwards I left, and I entered the forest and using the directions given alongside the mission I managed to find the cave after a half an hour of walking. From the looks of it there are quite a few things in there. But whether or not they’re goblins is indeterminable.

I activate Camouflage and slowly near the cave. As I peer through the darkness I manage to see a flicker of light. It’s torches.

There’s a good chance that whatever's in this cave isn’t a beast at the very least. I slowly walk into the cave, and as a I peer through the corner of the wall I managed to spot a number of goblins eating a meal.

I move back slightly, so they don’t notice me. From the minimap there seems to be about 23 Goblins. I spotted the Goblin Chief and 2 Raiders earlier, along with 11 other Goblins earlier so the rest are deeper in the cave.

Luckily these Goblins are rather weak. The Goblin Chief is only Level 13, while the raiders are Level 11. The Goblins currently eating are only between the levels of 6 and 10. I can easily kill the goblins, and the Raiders but the Chief could put up a fight. And if more reinforcements come in things might not look good for me.

I could possibly drag this out into the open where I can take out my bow and use the trees as cover, but then one of them might escape and I won’t be able to finish the quest.

I take out my cursed machete, and Ritual Dagger and put them on the ground. I also pull out three of my throwing knives and phang them on my belt.

I deactivate Camouflage to conserve mana, and use mind control on the 2 raiders.

I quickly charge in throwing the Ritual Dagger into the Goblin Chiefs chest.

“It’s a Human!” (Goblin)

“Kill the Human!” (Goblin 2)

“DIE!” (Goblin Chief)

The Goblin Chief is stabbed by my ritual dagger, and quickly becomes enraged charging at me. But as he charges at me I force the Raiders to stab him in the back.

I each of my throwing knives at a goblin, and they each manage to pierce their heads.

The other goblins start panicking as their two strongest fighters betrayed their leader, and three of their comrades have died. I take the opportunity to charge over and severe two goblins heads.

The remaining Goblins scramble to either get a weapon, or charge at me with their rusted swords and daggers.

I easily take care of these goblins, but it seems in the midst of all this the Goblin Chief managed to grab onto one of the raiders.

He screams out, “Why you little!” (Goblin Chief)

And throws the raider at me. I relinquish control over both of the raiders, and kill the raider that was thrown at me.

In his rage, the Goblin Chief grabs the other raider, and kills him with a club by his feet. The Goblin Chief is fuming and looks deathly pale from losing so much blood from the ritual dagger.

I grab two throwing knives from a nearby corpse and throw them at a goblin piercing both his eyes, as I continue to slaughter the rest of these goblins.

The Goblin Chief charges at me with his wooden club, but he’s lost too much blood. I easily avoid his swing, as I swing my machete cutting open his chest.

“Damn Human!” (Goblin Chief)

I jump back, avoiding another one of his swings. I charge forward and with a swing of my machete I severe his head as well.

“Filthy Goblin.”(Blade)

I look over at the goblin who’s eyes I pierced with the throwing knives, and I finish him off. With this I’ve killed 15 Goblins. I pull out the Ritual Dagger, and the throwing knives out of the goblins but the throwing knives have been dulled. I probably can’t use these knives for much longer.

I’ll sell them somewhere so for now I keep them. I look around the floor to see if there’s anything I could use. I can’t get anything much for the Goblin’s themselves, their skin, bones, and flesh probably aren’t worth much. They’re only wearing rags, and their weapons are rusted and in horrible condition. I guess their only fodder for EXP.

I see a narrow path way down the cave line every now and again with torches. I activate Camouflage once more. I slowly walk down the narrow path, and I hear some odd noises.

I look over and notice the rest of the goblins the remaining 8 hanging around a brown haired girl. The girl was chained to the wall naked, and was covered in all sorts of fluids. She was surrounded by the goblins naked being defiled ,yet she was completely unresponsive.

Well this makes things easy. I walked up to them noiselessly with the help of a technique I learned for assassination, and Camouflage. And with a swing of my machete I severed 3 of their heads. With another swing 2 more were down. And by the time the goblins noticed I swung once more and killed the last of them

NotificationCongratulations, Goblin Subjugation Quest CompleteYou’ve received 20 Gacha Coins, please collected your 4 Iron Coins from the guild.

Even after I killed all the goblins, the girl remains unresponsive. I call out to her

“Hey.” (Blade)

She doesn’t respond to me

“Hey!” (Blade)

I squat down and look into her eyes. I see she’s dead inside.

“Dead inside?”(Giri)

Giri? I thought you only pop up if I have questions.

“Ah, I’m sorry the curiosity got the better of me.” (Giri)

Curiosity, I thought you would have a database or something.

“Ah, I do, but that database only contains information that you might need. I’m clueless about anything else in the world.” (Giri)

I see

“You don’t mind this do you?” (Giri)

I suppose not, conversation helps pass the time. It’s all I really did for years in the lab anyway, well at least when there weren’t any experiments.

I suppose you’re curious about her then?

“Yeah” (Giri)

Well, she’s long since lost the will to live. She couldn’t care less if I were to kill her right now. I’ve seen it numerous times, in the labs, outside. It’s all too frequent.

We, Humans, are really too fragile. We only need a little push before we break. We’re only one step from turning insane.

No more questions huh? Well that’s okay. An A.I that develops a personality, it’s just like the old days. Maybe she’ll end up the same.

Now what to do with her. She isn’t worth much EXP, or Gacha Coins since she’s only level 9. Should I bring her back to the town? No, wait I can try that out.

Let’s see we got 8 bodies over here, so I should fetch two more bodies. I walk back to the part of the cave where I called the goblin chief, and I stuffed his body and one of the raiders bodie into my inventory.

I opened my inventory, and opened the Demonic Rituals book inside my inventory. I flipped through the pages to the entry about Devil Summoning. Apparently in this world there’s a distinctive difference between a Devil and a Demon.

Demons refers to the category of races that all the Demon Gods collectively created. Devils on the other hands are servants of the Demon Gods themselves who exist in another realm entirely.

These Devils are one of the most hated beings in existence that even the Demon race hates, after all Devil are loyal only to their God and summoner. It doesn’t matter if they’re ordered to massacre their own race, as long as their God or Summoner commands they will obediently follow it.

The other reason they’re so hated is due to the method of summoning. Unlike normal summoning which requires a contract between the summoner and the summoned, Devil Summoning requires no such thing.

In Devil Summoning is more to giving birth than actual summoning. So in order to give birth to a Devil a life must be taken. There’s all sorts of bizarre rituals that are required to summon even the weakest of Devils, and to summon an extraordinarily powerful Devil requires the sacrifice of an entire city.

For example the Devil I’m summoning right now is called a Flesh Devil. To summon one requires 10 skinless corpses and a single living sacrifice. This particular Devil isn’t particularly powerful, but it’s incredibly discreet compared to some other devils.

A Flesh Devil is capable of devour the flesh and bones of their foe leaving behind a pile of skin. The Devil can then transform themselves into the person they devoured and take over their skin, acquiring their memories, abilities, and identity.

This ensures I won’t be hunted down by anyone for being a Devil Summoner, and gives me a loyal companion that can never betray me. And their transformation capabilities are indefinite unlike Doppelgangers who have to waste their mana.Their transformation abilities could also prove useful eventually as well.

For now I gather the goblin corpses and quickly carve off all of their skin. Afterwards I moved them to the corn a little, and start carving out the magic circle required for the summoning. I stab the dagger into the center of the ground and I receive a pop up.

Suddenly a dark mist fills the room, and a massive pile of flesh appears. It is just a big puddle of blood, flesh, and eyes is this the Flesh Devil?

“Hello Demon Blade, I am Orot The Demon God of Flesh” (Orot)

“A Demon God? What do you want, I’ve hand enough of you Gids at the palace.” (Blade)

“Kekeke, you’re summoning a Flesh Devil aren’t you, and Flesh Devils are my servants so it’s natural I’m involved in this. We could appear in every summoning if we felt like it, but most of the time we ignore it and just grant them their Devil. But you’re quite the interesting fellow ,so I decided to come out and have a nice little chat.Kekeke” (Orot)

A hand pops out of the massive blob of flesh, and from it a Human shaped figure pops out. That must be the Flesh Devil.

“The offering was too weak so I can only grant you a level 13 Flesh Devil since the strongest corpse you gave me was level 13.Anyway let’s get down to business, would you like to form a covenant?” (Orot)

“A covenant?” (Blade)

“Yes, this in itself is a sort of covenant as well, it’s a deal with a God. However it can’t really be called a covenant as it’s more of a transaction if you will.” (Orot)

“And what do I gain from forming this covenant?” (Blade)

“My blessings, it’s the reason why summoned heroes are so powerful all those Light Gods just jump at the opportunity to give them their blessings in exchange for a covenant. Think about it, as the Demon God of Flesh I can change your flesh to be incredibly strong, you wouldn’t be bound to such weak, and fragile bodies. Of course there are some disadvantageous too.” (Orot)

“Oh? And what do you Gods have to gain from these covenants?” (Blade)

“Reverence, worshipers, and in my case Cultist. You see a strength of a God is based on their believers, that is why over the millennia there have been a number of crusades against the Demon Race. Those damned Gods of Light want to massacre our believers to weaken us. Of course we too have sent our believers on Crusades, in the form of Demon Kings.” (Orot)

“Oh, I’m surprised people even worship you guys.” (Blade)

“Oh? I thought you of all people would understand why.” (Orot)

“Oh don’t get me wrong I know, but there shouldn’t be too many people who are willing to form a covenant of some sort with you guys. There shouldn’t be too many people like me, or those Demon Kings who are starving for strength.”

“Well as one of the Demon God’s I was responsible for also creating a part of the Demon Race, so even if there aren’t that many there are some believers. And luckily for us Gods reverence doesn’t just mean they need to pray to us. Most Demon Gods are fine as long as you Mortal fear us.“(Orot)

“And that’s why you try and form covenants with us Otherworlders who are capable of doing extreme feats. You want me going around the world spread terror, no?”(Blade)

“Indeed, by having our apostles go around the world we can spread either terror or fate. So what do you say? I won’t prohibit you from forming covenants with other Gods, and I’ll even grant you the highest possible blessing I can distribute. Of course this blessing will require you to consume rotten flesh every now and again, but there’s always a catch with these blessings. I only need you to go around spreading terror, and become as infamous as possible.”(Orot)

A hand popped out of the blood puddle with a brown parchment on it.

Will you form a covenant with the Demon God of Flesh Orot?Yes/No

“I refuse” (Blade)

“Oh that’s rather surprising. I was under the impression you were willing to do anything for power, for strength.” (Orot)

“Of course, but accepting this covenant will do more harm than good. After all If I became your Apostle wouldn’t I just be making myself out to be a target of all those other apostles?” (Blade)

“That's…” (Orot)

“I choose to become a demon because it was stronger than being Human. Even if I am to one day be discovered I just need to head over to wherever all the other demons are. I’m not directly making an enemy out of anyone. But if I become your apostle those Gods are gonna send their apostles to make sure I don’t make you stronger. And besides I’d end up becoming a Demon King a target for all those Heroes that are possibly out there. ” (Blade)

“I see, that’s unfortunate. Very well, take this” (Orot)

The parchment in Orot’s hand folded itself, and entered an envelop.

NotificationYou have received Apostle’s Contact: Orot the God of Flesh

The letter entered my inventory on it’s on, and occupied a 31st slot that didn’t exist earlier.

“If you ever wish to become my apostle, the offer is open. Now enjoy.” (Orot)

The black mist suddenly disappeared and standing before me was the bloody Flesh Devil. The Flesh Devil, keeled down.

“Massstaa….” (Flesh Devil)

I point and the girl, and say

“Consume her” (Blade)

The Flesh Devil walked over to the girl, and with his sharp fingers he pierced her shoulder causing her to final respond. She began screaming, but the Flesh Devil covered her mouth with his hands.

The girl slowly began to turn into nothing but skin as all the flesh and bones were sucked out of her. The Flesh Devil stretched the part of her skin that would be her mouth open, and suddenly liquefied into a mush.

The mush jumped into the air, and entered the girls empty shell. Slowly the flat shell began to form the shape of a Human until standing before me was the girl who was sitting there motionless.

“How’s the body” (Blade)

“It could be better, it’s been through quite some abuse.” (Flesh Devil)

“Are you capable of recalling her memories, what’s her name, family, where does she live, her abilities.”

“Her name was Marilyn Hawkins, Age 19, daughter of a farmer in the Boean Village named Corey Hawkins, and Kate Hawkins. She also helped as a farmer along with several other siblings in times of harvest, however as the oldest child she helps with foraging. She had a fiance, but he’s now dead and she’s been missing for about four months now. There was a child in her womb, but when I absorbed her it died.” (Flesh Devil)

“I see what are the chances others would recognize her?” (Blade)

“Likely the village is a closely knit community.” (Flesh Devil)

“That’s a problem, if I store her skin will you be able to become her again at some point?” (Blade)

“Yes, master. I can become anything as long as I have their skin. However if I do not absorb their flesh than I won’t be able to use their abilities or retain their memories.” (Flesh Devil)

I see, but Flesh Devils can only possess humanoids, I’m going to have to kill one of those adventurers staying in the in.

“I see, for now I’ll refer to you as Marilyn. Marilyn do you know where the goblins put your clothes?” (Blade)

“Unfortunately master my clothes were destroyed when I was attacked.” (Marilyn)

“I can’t have you go around in naked.” (Blade)

“I’m sorry Master.” (Marilyn)

I guess I have no choice, but to do use the gacha. Hey Giri is there a way to choose the gender I’m getting my equipment for?

“No, you’ll have to acquire that in the Gotta Gacha Em’ All Gacha. Until you do get that you will receive a random equipment for a random gender.”

I open up the Gotta Gacha app, and use the Gacha Set

NotificationYou have received Slave Set1x N Collar1x N Iron Cuffs1x N Ball and Chain1x LeashBonus Items1x N Magic Collar Upgrade

What the hell is this…..

I suppose this counts as equipment, but why would anyone wear this?

“It still gives better stats than your otherworlder clothes so….” (Giri)

Well my clothes had no stats attached to them anyway, but no one would ever dress like a slave for a simple status boost.

“And no one would casually summon a Flesh Devil, or use a Cursed Machete.” (Giri)

Maybe not the Flesh Devil, but the Machete’s curse isn’t even that bad.

“Marilyn from your knowledge are there slaves in this world?” (Blade)

“Yes, there exist Crime Slaves, Beast Slaves, Demi-Human Slaves, War Slaves, and Debt Slaves. However it’s illegal to just enslave anyone, you need to have the proper paperwork done.” (Marilyn)

“Oh? Why is that?” (Blade)

“Slaves are a major income for a lot of countries, but they don’t want everyone to go to other countries to hunt for slaves. That was a major fear in the beginning so it was made international law that slaves that are Humans can only be from Criminals or Debtors. The slave is given a special seal in order to mark that they’ve properly gone through procedures and are a Criminal or Debtor. Of course that’s only for Humans, they’re pretty lax about Demi-Humans.” (Marilyn)

I see, I suppose I can force a Demi-Human to be my slave later. Right now I don’t have enough Gacha Coins for another Equipment Set Gacha, but I still need some clothes. Ah whatever let’s go with a few Normal Equipment Gachas.

R Bracelet of RegenerationA Magic bracelet that grants a natural regeneration effect to the wearer

N Robe of the ApprenticeA robe for beginner mages, or people of odd character

Ah I suppose that works, I put on the Bracelet of Regeneration and toss the Robe of the Apprentice over to Marilyn

“Put that on.” (Blade)

The brown robe seems to be able to cover her for the most part. As long as you aren’t looking from below you won’t be able to tell she’s naked underneath…

“Come on let’s go” (Blade)

I walk out of the cave, and begin walking around the area. 50m might not be enough, I max out Radar to reach the full 100m distance.

The mini map refreshes, and it’s now filled with a number of red dots. Well let’s go hunting.

I’ve been going around hunting whatever I can and I managed to level up twice, and gained a total of 250 Gacha Coins. I allocated the points into 5 STR, 5 AGI, and 5 INT.

After walking around I managed to find an Elk native to the Bornean Forest, and acquired some meat, skin, and it’s antlers. I’ve killed a few more Green Snakes and drained their blood.

I also discovered a more powerful snake called a Vine Snake that’s quite similar to the Green Snake in appearance. It camouflaged itself with a number of vines on the tree and carefully waited for me to near. It was a Level 8 snake so I bet it’s blood will make a more potent poison catalyst. It’s also venomous so I took the liberty of cutting of it’s head and putting it in my inventory. I have 7 Vine Snake heads now.

I’ve also discovered a few more Goblin Caves, and a single Hob-Goblin village. I didn’t charge in the caves because their numbers far surpassed the earlier Goblin Cave with each cave having over 40 Goblins.

Not only that but there were even Goblin Crossbowmen, Goblin Warriors, Goblin Assassin, Goblin Thieves, Goblin Mages, and Goblin Healers in some of the Goblin Caves. There were a few Hob-Goblins in the Goblin Caves, but there were only 4 or 5 at most usually.

The Hob-Goblin village was quite frightening. The weakest Hobgoblin was level 17 and the strongest was the level 28 Hobgoblin Chief. There were a few Goblins in the village, but the weakest of those were Level 8 Goblin Archers. Even with my boosted stats, with their level difference, numbers, and equipment I won’t stand a chance against them. And I can only Mind Control the weakest level 17 Hobgoblin or the weaker Goblins too...

I remembered the location and quickly left before they noticed me. I also came across an Orc cave. These Orc’s look sort of like Pigmen, and they seemed to be generally stronger than goblins, and about even with Hobgoblins. The weakest of them were Orc Miners who were Level 15, and the strongest was the Orc Chief at Level 29. There seemed to be quite a few of them, from what I counted over 50.

However that might not be accurate, after all I saw a number of them leaving the cave to forage or hunt. Their actual numbers might exceed 60 or 70.

Other than that I encountered another pack of Dire Wolves which I easily killed which helped me level up to level 13. I made sure to properly skin them, and I took some of the meat as well.

Anyway It’s getting pretty late, I need to start looking for some adventurers to let Marilyn possess. what should i do with Marilyn.

“Well is this rare” (???)

I hear a voice behind me, and quickly turn around to find a half naked woman standing ontop of a tree. She had unnaturally long green hair, and wore clothes made out of vines and leaves that only prevented one from seeing a few parts of her well endowed body.

“Who are you.” (Blade)

I ready my Machete, and use analyze

???[tr]

[tr]???[tr]

She’s 20 levels higher than me! This is bad...

“Me? My names Daeira one of this forest’s lovely maiden, a Dryad. And who are you, Demon and you accursed Devil?” (Daeira)

She knows I’m a Demon? I have Humanification on how did she? No, wait she knows that Marilyn is a Flesh Devil!?

I signal, Marilyn to run. But as I try and turn around and run I notice that there are a number of vines entangling my legs.

“You don’t need to run, I’m just going to ask you a few questions.” (Daeira)

She jumped down from the tree, and landed right in front of me. I can still move my hands.

I quickly go into my inventory, and pull out a single shot pistol fire it at near point blank range. Even if she is 20 level higher than me she shouldn’t be able to survive a bullet to the brain.

But unfortunately that was only if the bullet manages to go through the brain..

“I didn’t think a Demon like you would have one of these toys.” (Daeira)

The bullet I fire is currently floating in the air as it’s held by a sort of green transparent barrier. Damn, I underestimated her.

“How did you know I was a Demon?” (Blade)

“How? You think I can’t see through this shoddy spell of yours? Its rare to find a Demon on this part of the continent, and to find one who can use such an Advanced Transformation spell like Humanification is even rarer, but to think I’d somehow find such a weak demon who can barely even use it. I’m surprised you can even cast such an advanced spell with so little mana. Maybe if you were a bit stronger you’d be able to fool me, but you’re simply too weak.” (Daeira)

Is it the level difference?

“No, Humanification was designed so the level difference wouldn’t matter too much. However if you get stronger it does become much harder for others to detect you’re using it. You just got unlucky and met a Dryad, a powerful one at that.” (Giri)

I see, so I’m just unfortunate huh...

“So, what do you want?”(Blade)

“Some answers, first why are you here? Who sent you? The Demon Lords, the Demon Gods?” (Daeria)

“No one, I just so happened to end up here.” (Blade)

“Hmm, I don’t like bad children you know?” (Daeria)

Daeria took a seed from who knows where and plopped it into the ground, it quickly bloom suddenly turning into a bright pink flower.

Daeria picked up the flower, and held it up to my nose

“Why are you here.” (Daeria)

“The God of Gacha sent me here.” (Blade)

Why did I say that?

“God of Gacha?” (Daeria)

“He’s the subordinate God of the God of Gambling and the God of Entertainment” (Blade)

Don’t tell me this flower..

“Is that so? Never heard of him, anyway are you his apostle?” (Daeria)

“No” (Blade)

It’s forcing me to tell the truth!

“Why did he send you to the Bornean Forest, what is he after?” (Daeria)

“Nothing.” (Blade)

“Why did he send you then?” (Daeria)

“For his own bloody entertainment, and all the other Gods entertainment.” (Blade)

“Even though I know you’re telling the truth it’s still hard to believe.” (Daeria)

“I bet it is, now can I go?” (Blade)

“Not yet, now are you the one who summoned that despicable Devil” (Daeria)

“Yes” (Blade)

“Why” (Daeira)

“I thought it would be useful somewhere along the line.” (Blade)

“Are you an idiot? Don’t you know how many people would be after you for summoning a Devil?” (Daeria)

“Sort of, but not really.” (Blade)

“What were you born yesterday?” (Daeria)

“Sort of” (Blade)

“What?” (Daeria)

“Well I technically was born yesterday” (Blade)

She stared at me dumbfounded

“Can I go now?” (Blade)

“Honestly I don’t even know what to do about you, I came over here because I felt a Divine Presence, but I found a Demon brat not even a year old and a devil. I was going to suck the life out of you, and kill that Devil of yours but I suppose I’ll leave you be.” (Daeria)

That’s quite foolish to let go someone as dangerous as me, not that I’m complaining

“You’re quite interesting, come visit me when you’re older and stronger. I like strong men. Also don’t go too deep into the forest, at least not with that Devil. If you enter the Sacred Forest with her it’s not my fault if you die, and don’t think about attack us either or you’ll incur the wrath of the mighty Treants.” (Daeria)

Daeria gave me a kiss, her tongue coils around mine and a sweet nectar fills my mouth. I hear the a number of odd dings, and I look over and notice my Mana and HP are rapidly dropping. Shit she’s going to kiss me to death! I beginning panicking, and try to struggle away from her, but I don’t seem to have any strength.

Finally when my Mana gauge is only at about 10% and HP at about 5% she stops.

“If you ever want to visit just enter deep into the forest alone, and call my name. I’ll come find you then. Hehe, I’ll rock your world.” (Daeria)

She winks and me, and walks over to Marilyn

“As for you make sure you never enter anywhere near my Sacred Forest okay?” (Daeria)

Marilyn quietly nods, and Daerie leaps over to a tree branch

“Oh yeah I didn’t catch your name brat?” (Daerie)

“It’s Blade” (Blade)

“Cya, Blade!” (Daerie)

Daerie leaps of the branch and quickly disappears. I look over at my gauges and notice two boxes.

[tr] Status Effect[tr]

[tr]Mark of the DryadAs long as you’re in the forest of a Dryad they will know where you are, this will permanently remain unless removed.

Status Effect[tr]

[tr]Dryad NectarGradually regenerates HP and MP rapidly for the next 10 minutes.

“Hey Marilyn what are Dryads.” (Blade)

“They're supposedly spirits of the forest that have manifested. They are something akin to the Guardians of the Forest, but the true Guardians are the Treants the Dryads serve. Dryads tend to go around absorbing the life force of anyone who threatens the forest, or anyone else they feel like absorbing. They also produce an incredible Wine, a number of herbs, and the Dryads themselves excrete a special nectar said to boost healing, and slow down aging.” (Marilyn)

I’m going to have to kill her later...
