History 2
Santiago was but a child when the spires struck earth, the resulting tsunamis and earthquakes as well as destabilized volcanoes left the world’s coastlines in tatters and millions dead. Because all of the spires struck the oceans and buried themselves in the deepest parts studying the objects that impacted the world was a difficult task and no conclusive data could be learned without reaching the far depths. In time the memory of the objects became faded and classified for those who wished to see or study the objects with research grants or on their own dime.
The Spires bled a concentrated force of energy no one had ever felt before and no sensor system of any could could detect. This energy killed hundreds of thousands but gifted millions with cranial abilities. Telepathy, telekinesis, they were no longer just fantasy. The first exhibitions of these abilities were weak but gradually some grew strong and could do great things. Among them was the Alocarta family, a large family of latin americans spread throughout the united states and mexico, whose abilities in both branches were considerable.
Santiago was the most adept at using his ability displaying skills and techniques that not only exhibited great creativity but also vast understanding of the abilities he wielded. Taking many young men and women from the Alocarta clan he formed the Great Pillar Worx and found well paying jobs for groups of psions who could help with the reconstruction efforts. He used the money acquired from the jobs to build many towers on vast open lands naming them the Great Clan Pillars. There other members with direct blood relation to the clan could come and live freely.
When he was around twenty-three there was a great commotion as suddenly massive whales, much larger than even the blue whales, began to aggressively sink any vessel that floated or submersed. In just two weeks after the great flurry of world wide panic because of the ship sinking millions of spire trees surfaced at the coastlines and began to take footholds. Fighting against the onslaught was difficult as the spire trees did not need to rest and they were greatly adaptive capable of fighting on any kind of air, land, and water environment.

The Great Pillar Worx became openly active in the war for survival namely as rescue workers and later as frontline warmachines.
Santiago was the first to bond with a spire tree linking its consciousness core to his soul. This bond gave him absolute loyalty and control over the spire tree he bonded with as well as giving him a considerable boost in combat ability as the tree could also act as a war suit once modified, something the spire trees did very well. The entire clan quickly followed his example and bonded a tree spire to their souls, some would bond with more than one, but then they discovered the dangers of doing so rather by accident. When one of the clan died his trees would die with him, it was to be expected, but if even one tree bonded with one of the clan died then all the trees bonded with that host and the host himself would also die.
In his thirties the war was looking like it would soon be over and as the great spires were being conquered, some destroyed and others bonded with, the Great Pillar Worx captured three. Three of the youngest of the clan were chosen to bond with the spires so as to ensure the longevity of the bonding which later proved pointless as the trees themselves could sustain a host in a stasis of suspended animation prolonging the life of the host indefinitely.
When it was discovered that the spires could not only leave orbit but were also outfitted with hyperdimensional engines the great colonial era began.
Using the star charts onboard the entire clan left earth and headed for a world much like earth with nearly three hundred spires occupying it. After a series of orbital bombardments and fighting in space against other great spires capable of spaceflight the three Alocarta spires struck earth and began to fight for a foothold on the world.
During Santiago’s prime the great spires were mostly conquered and push back to the far side of the planet. His achievements became parts of history and from his exploits were derived many tales of legendary actions and adventures.
