《The Egotistical Ruler [DROPPED]》Chapter 15: The Caged Beast
Advertisement
Short chapter I created on my phone so mistakes are probably more likely. I may add in more windows on Friday.
Emperor finding that they couldn't break through looked up and remembered how the Mosquitos kept descending every once of awhile. He promptly began climbing the spike cage using the branches and came up to a flat platform-like area with a hole in the center. none of the others followed him for various reasons. The kids were scared of the Mosquitos while Stagola...
'Like hell I'm climbing that, it's like an extremely crooked and slippery ladder with rounded steps.' Thought Stagola.
Indeed the branches were hard to climb up and Emperor struggled to get up them. The only reason why he could was due to his high strength giving him a vise-like grip and his abnormal balance from dealing with his heavy armour and Bull Charges.
Before Emperor could do anything two Mosquitos surrounded him. After fighting tens of them since entering he was confident he could take them on alone but he didn't consider the most important thing. Environment, the Mosquitos could fly out of the way and attack from strange directions at a moments notice.
-Heavy Punch
Since heavy punch could stop mid charge at the expense of power(despite the explosion status it was weaker due to less surface area used and less weight aimed forward). But the mosquito he aimed for easily dodged. He stopped and quickly turned around to start another attack but the second mosquito attacked from behind. It stabbed its straw-like mouth that was as sharp and thin as a rapier into his back. It didn't do much damage and Emperor countered as the mouth pierced the armour but not fully leaving it stuck.
-Crush
Critical Hit
Emperor leaned backwards then yelled the name quickly falling back. The force ripped the Mosquito's mouth out of its head alongside its brain killing it instantly. Emperor silently cheered in his head but was vulnerable.
The other mosquito grabbed him with its legs and carried him into the sky. Emperor desperately punched the mosquito without using any skills as he was unable to. The mosquito dropped him and he fell around two stories since the monster didn't carry him for long. The fall itself was terrifying but the stop was painful. It didn't kill Emperor though he was only left with 10% of his health left.

'Ouch it hurts so much I can't even get up, d*mn realism'
Stagola and the kids ran over to him and dragged him to safety. Well Stagola actually "kept an eye out for monsters" while the kids dragged Emperor. After reaching a relatively safe spot they rested and ate. Emperor was recovering very slowly and actually fell asleep.
The kids kept to his side while Stagola logged off.
~8 hours in-game later~
Emperor woke up groggily from the sensation of waking up in a game. He felt hungry and ate but found our it was his real body that was hungry.
-log off
Lynford hopped out of his Coma and began making a late lunch. Looking at a clock it was only 3pm.
'It feels more like I took a short nap rather than a full 8 hours of sleep'
Lynford went for a run while the good was cooking. When he got back he ate, showered, and then got back in his Coma.
Log-in procedure iniated
Emperor reappeared in the dungeon in the safe spot and waited for a little bit. As he thought Stagola soon logged in with a bright flash of light.
-Alright parasitic cockroach lets get exploring, there must be a cage weaker than the others. They aren't manmade, they're the combination of natural structures and alterations done by bugs.
Stagola agreed and they set off once again. Also Stagola's title changed again but he didn't really care to check how it changed.
~10 minutes later~
Emperor while managed to spot a cage that was different from the rest so he led himself and the others there. This cage was much bigger than the others with the branches not even starting until 15 feet high with a wall below. But the most noticeable thing is that the gaps between branches were big enough to fit through.
'The Mosquitos skimped on this one because of the wall but that's no problem for me.'
-Bull Charge
The wall was slightly sloped allowing Emperor to temporarily run up it. Thanks to this he was able to grab onto a branch and lift himself onto it. Without a sense of caution he dropped into the caged in space while the others could only watch.
Emperor fell into the chamber on his feet and the first thing he noticed was that it was dark in there. Second thing was that a monster was charging at him.

-Bull Charge
Emperor charged himself to meet his enemy expecting the same thing as when he hit that wolf head on in the past. But instead they were equally matched and forced eachother to a standstill. Emperor's skill canceled due to lack of movement but the monster kept going. It dug into the ground with its hoove and unbalanced Emperor by jerking its head.
Skill failed
Next thing Emperor knew he was getting pushed by his body at a fast pace. Then he was smashed into the wall accompanying a sickening crunch.
"Impressive, human" said the monster
-You can talk?
Emperor squeaked out while hyperventilating from getting the air knocked out from his body and smarting from what he assumed to be a broken rib or two.
"Yes my kind can speak your language, after all we're quite similar in some ways". The monster said then stepped back under the hole where blood red light leaked through.
The monster was vividly realistic, like something out of a nightmare. Not that the other monsters weren't the same way but this monster was different. It had the lower legs of a goat, the body of a human, and the head of a bull. It had massive horns that were chipped and cracked in certain places but deadly with sharp points on it making Emperor realise that his armour saved his life once again. Also it was bipedal, walking like a human but with more power behind it as it had rippling muscles. It was like the combination of a Minotaur and a Satyr.
Emperor was completely speechless but then thought to ask.
-What are you doing down here?
"Well it all started a year ago. Back then I was a part of a Nomandic tribe of Minotaurs in the plains far to the West across a small mountain range. In the mountains lived the Satyrs that we are in good relation with. One day my tribe and I went to visit my mountainous cousins, as I'm the chief of the tribe and make all the decisions-" rambled the monster
'He better not be giving me his life story!'
"-Well back to the topic. On that day we were visiting my cousins we heard a strange buzzing. We found the Satyrs under attack by strange flying creatures and they had already lost half of their forces. We of course came to assist but they were endless. While the creatures abducted our weak from above, hordes of wolves attacked us on level ground weakening us. It was a war of attrition and we were losing despite our tribes being much stronger they had the advantage of flying and numbers. One day the hordes cleared up and we celebrated. Alas we celebrated too early as the strongest horde yet hit us during the celebrations. It was led by a giant bug that was yellow instead of red and a giant wolf whose roars seemed to pierce the heavens."

'Sweet just one more boss for that chain quest. The previous rewards were mainly reputation and titles so now it's time for the money and rare items.'
-Well as respective leaders we should work together to take down this yellow bug thingamajig.
Skill use fail
"First off we should start with the giant wolf since it'd be easier to kill, second you don't look like a leader, third and most importantly we're stuck in a cage." Replied the monster sassily.
-First I've already killed the wolf, second I'm not a leader yet officially since my people were abducted before it became official, and third I have no idea how to get out either
Emperor said all this in a prideful way which made sense for the first two parts but not the third. But before the monster could speculate they were interrupted.
Keith called out from outside "Emperor are you okay!"
-Yeah fine except I'm trapped so backtrack to the tunnels and train until I can escape!
"So your name is Emperor young human, how silly. My name is much more amazing, it is..."
Yep ending it there but guess what you get to choose the Minotaur/Satyr hybrid chief's name in the comments below.
Not a vote I'm just going with whatever flows the best aka my opinion of what's best. But you have a voice. If you're mute don't take offense to that statement, it's just a saying.
Naming ended.

Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)
