《Heart Cores have hobbies (HIATUS)》Chapter 20

The conversation ended with me explaining the details to the Old Avian while the Bearman kept us company inside the heartcore room.
The rest of the day was spent peacefully, the only new thing was that the goblin camp lvl9 leader started to shout on the afternoon, at first I thought that they had found the slaver's group, but after hearing his shouts, he was mad that the group he sent to the brown wolves territory had not return yet.
At nightfall, Robur approached the Avians who sat on the ground resting.
"Boss ask if you ready?" (Robur)
Upon hearing these words, the 7 Avian Crows rose up and moved around their wings.
"Who wants to fly with me this night!" (Old Avian)
""""We will fly with you!"""" The other 6 Crows proclaimed to their elder.
The departing group then gathered at the entrance where the guards kept watching over the goblin camp.
On this new party were the 7 Avians, Robur and the gray wolf cub.
"C’mon little one, I wont let you fall!" The Old Avian promised the small cub before taking her on his arms.
At the same time, a younger Avian approached Robur.
"Robur will fly!" (Robur)
"Hold on!" The young Avian then flapped his wings, and with his legs, he grabbed Robur by his shoulders while Robur in return grabbed the Avian's ankles.
It was safer for Robur to be transported this way as the Avian legs were much stronger than their arms.
With everyone ready, the party departed into the skies heading to the East, and after searching for a bit, the cub found their first target.
This target was none other than a goblin patrol, and with the cubs eyes, I was able to easily spot where those goblins were going.
Upon deciding a good spot, the young Avian put Robur on the ground and returned to his group.
While Robur was hiding, the 7 Avians stood high in the air, waiting for the patrol to appear.
Slowly the patrol of 6 goblins passed by Robur, unaware that he was hiding just near them.
Suddenly the gray wolf roared from the Old Avian's arms, wich scared the goblins.
As the goblins were now focused on the wolf noise that came from their front, the 6 Avians flew down like arrows from their back.
And before the goblins could turn their back to see what was coming, the Avians already grabbed their arms, lifting them goblins to the air.
The 6 Avians who carried the patrol, returned to the Old Avian.
The Old Avian watched the goblins struggling to defend themselves, but it was no use as the strong feet of the Avians were dug deep inside their arms.

"Release them." (Old Avian)
All the 6 Crows followed their elder command and immediately "liberated" the goblins.
At this moment Robur left his hideout, he laughed at watching the goblins falling to their certain deaths.
"AHahah! Die Trash!" (Robur)
Then six goblins dropped the floor like glass hitting a rock, 5 of them died from the crash and one was still alive.
Robur approached this survivor, he had his legs and an arm broken.
"No! P-please!" The crippled goblin begged Robur.
"Die!" (Robur)
With one of his daggers, Robur slowly cut the enemies's throat.
After the ambush was done and the enemy patrol defeat, it was time for the cleanup, while the Young Avian picked up Robur, Robur also held the enemies clubs on his arms.
At the same time, including the Old Avian, the other Avians picked the dead bodies and returned home to get some rest.
For the rest of the night, the same continued, the party of 9 would fly out after resting for 10 minutes and ambush another patrol.
Even if several goblins survived the downfall, they would always be broken to even move, and Robur was always there to finish them off easily since the patrols were goblins of lvl1 to lvl4.
The first 3 ambushes were done in the this pattern, first East, second North, and third West, then, the second round of 3 ambushes occurred first at West, then North and finally East.
(From the direction of the attacks, they will think it was the brown wolves!)
A total of 36 goblins died on this night, wich in turn, their bodies and weapons would be used as resources for me.
In the end, this allowed me to get 36 wood and after giving the bodies to the slimes, they reproduced twice, from 12160 to 24320 to 48640, filling almost 5 tiles of the room.

(Now that I think of it, what about the dark elves? Those girls have been pretty quiet all this time!)
The 3 dark elf sisters have been the less social of the rescued group, until now, upon arriving at the goblin nest, they simply chose a place to lay down and stood there at all times, with the exception of the elder sister with long silver hair, who would approach the goblin elder to get the food for her and her sisters when it was time to eat.
Even then, she spoke no words, simply taking the food to her sisters, they would stay quiet, somethings they would whisper to each others and even cry without letting the rest of the room notice.
At most of the times, it was them griefing their lost father or complaining that they don't have a bed or cant take a bath, so at the start, I simply ignored them.
(Lets see how long they will take to speak to me...)
Back at the Maktraka goblin camp, the lvl9 goblin leader was very nervous.
"WHERE THEY ARE!" The goblin constantly shouted every time he left his tent.
At first, he thought that the patrols were simply delayed as they might have spotted some prey to hunt, but as time passed, he realized that something serious must have happened to them.
The more he thought, the more mad he had become, now not only 6 patrols were missing, but also the recon party that he had sent to scout had not reported back.
Finaly, he got some news after sending a search party, while no bodies were found, it was obvious that the patrols were defeated as at the locations, dried black blood still painted some of the vast snow lands.
The goblin pondered on what to do, and after reaching his decision, he ordered the patrols to be less, but those fewer patrols would be increased from 6 to 20 goblins, at the same time, the number of sentries around the camp had increase 3 times.
Now the goblin camp was at max alert, with 2 thirds of them always being on guard duty.
Back at the heartcore room, I was felling unconfortable.
(It seems the 35 goblins he sent out are missing? It must have been the brown wolves!)
(But still, they lost a fourth of their army, so why wont they either attack or fall back?)
This was a weird situation, they were losing troops and just sat there?
At a good distance from this place at East, on the brown wolf western border, two groups of wolves had just joined together.
"Lead hunter!" (Old wolf)
"Ah! You returned on a good time!" (Lead Hunter)
"Did something happen?" (Old Wolf)
"Yes! We got word from Patriarch that the rest of our territory is now secured!" (Lead Hunter)
"Thats indeed good news!" (Old Wolf)
"Surely it is, but we are not done here yet, Patriarch has ordered that we conquer the neutral territory as soon as possible!" (Lead Hunter)
"That might be a problem..." (Old Wolf)
"How so?" (Lead Hunter)
"Lead Hunter! I have to report that we found a goblin party that crossed out border! It was a recon team, so we cleaned them out with no losses!" (Old Wolf) "But..."
"But?" (Lead hunter)
"But after we went forward into the neutral territory, we found a sizeable goblin camp with at least 160 goblins!" (Old Wolf)
The Lead Hunter sighed at what he had just heard.
"Its great that we did not rush into the neutral territory and its even better that you decreased their numbers!" (Lead Hunter)
Even with their victory, it would be impossible to defeat the goblins, as that the current troops available to fight them were 120 wolves.
But what the wolves didn't know, was that the goblins now had less than 130 goblins thanks to an unknow third party.

While I have little to no intention of showing them (especially during a Writathon) things like abuse of all kinds (neglect, emotional, mental, spiritual, physical and sexual) can or be implied to have happened. These are played to the horrors such things are, and are treated with the seriousness and aftereffects it would cause. This the first time I am seriously writing an original story. I will be Writing each book in Parts/Arcs (3-6) with mini arcs (3-6 in each arc). Each Mini-arc is 5-14 or so chapters. I like progression stories and I've always wanted to try and write one like a few of the web novels that inspired me. The Game Lit aspects will be more in the background, with focus on other details like dungeons, monsters, loot, morality, and so on. There will be focus on various kinds of progression.
