《Heart Cores have hobbies (HIATUS)》Chapter 16

The old Avian Crow and the rest of the group stood on their knees without words at what they had just witnessed.
"So what were you saying?" I asked the Old Avian Crow.
The old Avian Crow sighed before finally speaking a word.
"Sir, as I said, we are of the Avian Race, to be precise, the Crow Clan, out nest is to the North, near the border of Morfir, the land of outcasts!"
"What happened to you? Why were you captured?" I inquired the Avians.
"Every season we leave our nest and travel to the nearby settlements to trade and as we were resting in one of the villages along our journey, we then were attacked by a large group belonging to the Eastern Horde!"
"I see... What about you dark elves?"
Everyone turned their heads to the 3 women who still shed tears about their father's death.
At my question, the big sister wiped her tears with her hand and looked at me.
"We... We were... Traveling! Our father was a trader..."
At her words, the old Avian Crow threw a weird face at the girls.
On this moment, I approached the old Avian and whispered.
"Is something wrong?"
He then whispered back to me.
"Sir, dark elves hate trading, in fact, they have a history of refusing to trade or communicate with other races! In fact, the reason they left the other elf races was because they cant stand of how they communicate with others who are not their kind..."
"I see..." I stared at the girls, it was obvious that they were hiding something.
"What about him?" I inquired the old Avian while pointing at the White Bearmen. "Does he not speak?"
"I do not think he knows common language as I never have seen him speak with anyone, the only thing I know is that he is from the Beastmen Race!"
With the dark elves and avians staring at me in silence, I shouted to the bear.
"Hey! You! Can you hear me?"
The big white bear nodded his head. "Yes!"
"Good! Can you tell me what happened to you?"
Everyone at this point were showing their surprised face upon seeing that I was able to speak Beast language.

"Red Demon, what you ask is very personal to me and while I am grateful that you killed my jailors, I first need to ask what you plan to do with us!"
"To answer your question, first I planned to release the goblins as they are family to those that follow me and regarding the rest of you, it will depend, if you are not hostile to me, then I will naturally release you, if not, well, you have seen what happened to that dark elf!"
The big white bearmen was pleased with what I told him as he nodded his head.
"Then I assure that I will not harm you nor any of your followers!"
As he heard my conversation with the white bear, the old Avian gathered his courage to speak again.
"Sir! May we know what you are speaking about with the bearmen?"
I faced the Avians and the dark elves.
"Nothing much! He asked what I would do to you, and I informed him that I will release those who are not hostile to me!"
All of the Avians were very happy at my words, but were still looked worried.
"Sir! You mean it? Is it true that we will be free?" The old Avian smiled as he asked for confirmation.
"Yes! Yes, I mean it!" I promised to the group. "So, how do you get those chains off?"
"The goblin leader must have the key with him!" The old Avian pointed at the dead goblin.
Upon hearing his words, I ran towards the corpse and searched for the key, after finding it under the rags, I returned to the group at once.
(I will release the Avian and the bear now!)
The reason I did not mind releasing them so fast, was because their loyalty was at 60-65. And after saving them and informing that they would be released, it increased to 65-70.
Regarding the dark elf male that I killed, he was at 44 loyalty, and when he dropped to 42 as we spoke, it made me lose my patience, I had no time for rude people with low loyalty.
But despite killing their father, the younger daughters only dropped from 59-62 to 49-50 and the weird thing was the older daughter, how come her loyalty did not change at all?

(Was he really their father? Was he a good father? She has 55 loyalty! Perhaps there must be something wrong in their family?)
After releasing the White Bearmen, his lvl changed from lvl4-9 to lvl9.
"Do these chains suppress your power?" I asked the Bear upon seeing his lvl change.
"Yeah, this is the reason why they needed just a small escort for us..." (Bearmen)
(Should I take these chains?)
"Can they track us if I take them with me?"
"No, unless they have the key!" (Avian)
(I shall take everything then!)
The Bearmen and the Avian Crows were released one by one, leaving only the 3 dark elves in handcuffs.
"What about us?" THe elder sister inquired.
The Imp then approached the elves.
"I just killed your father, wont you seek vengeance the moment I release your shackles?"
The elder sister looked at her father's corpse for a moment then turned to her sisters.
"We wont! I promise!" (Old Sister)
"How come I don't believe you?"
"Plea... Please trust me!"
The old Avian Crow who had heard us, approached and whispered me.
"Sir, if you allow me to speak, you should trust her, female dark elves never break promises, actually this also applies to all female elves!"
"Fine!" I pointed to the elves. "But if your try something..." I opened my hand and closed it fast, seeming that I was trying to crush something. "Your sisters will pay the price! Is that clear?"
"I promise on my mother's life!" (Old Sister)
""We promise!"" The younger sisters added.
(Their mother is alive?)
Once all goblins, dark elves, White Bear and Avians were released, I ordered my minions to pickup the loot and prepared to return.
"Sir, to where we go now?" The old Avian Crow asked me.
"Cant you fly home?" I suggested as I stared at his wings.
"No! We need at least 3 days to recover..."
"Well, in that case you can come and rest at the goblin nest, as long as you promise to follow my rules."
"I will accept your offer!" (Old Avian)
"What about you?" I asked the White Bearmen.
"Do you have food?" The bear rubbed his tummy.
"Yes?"
"Then can I come too?"
"Sure!"
Finally, I turned to the dark elves.
"What about you girls?"
"Will you hurt us?" The older sister inquired.
"Sis, what are you saying! He killed our father!" The young sister with twin tail hair spoke.
"We should go home now!" The other young sis with one ponytail added.
"Are you both crazy? What if the Eastern Horde or another enemy finds us? We are far away from home and we got no weapons!" The older sister shouted at her sisters before turning at me. "Please let us go with you, we already promised!"
"Very well, let us depart now! See ya at home!" With this I canceled my spell.
"Sir what do you mean?" Confused at my last words the old Avian inquired.
(Robur lead them safely.)
"Yes Boss!" The goblin shouted as he punched his chest. "Follow me! Robur take you to goblin nest!"
The party, now larger, departed with Robur, the cubs and the Old crow taking the lead while the rest followed behind.
Since I ordered the remained 2 cubs at home to keep a lookout with a few goblins I had managed to have a few more details about the enemy.
The group that left yesterday had not return yet while their patrols were still very active.
As far as the cubs could notice, around every 10 minutes, a new patrol of 6 goblins would leave the camp while the older one returned to rest.
At least 6 to 8 patrols would at all times be out of the camp.
There was a total of 170 enemy goblins on this camp.
2 hours later, the party finally reached near the starting path to the mountain, but due to the patrols, the group was divided into smaller teams as the large group would be easily spotted.
Everytime the patrols would stay far from the path or return home, a team would sneak and go up the mountain.
And so, the trip back was done without any issue, and from an estimate guess, the goblin camp would have not know what had happened for days unless they had reinforcements from the West.

Dog Days in a Leashed World
Life is not easy at the bottom of the food chain. And in the Kingdoms of Magica, the absolute bottom belongs without question to the puppy-like lowbie zone trash known as mongrels. Born to an unfinished zone with only bored, murderous outpost guards for neighbors, the lives of these fluffy balls of hapless nuisance are short, dull, and deeply confused. Because after all: What's the point of a mob that no one can be bothered to hunt, in a zone utterly lacking in reasons to visit, in a game that was already the height of trash fantasy nonsense? Well it may not be much, but it's their life, dammit. And if Shh, the mongrel bearing the questionable distinction of smartest pup in his pack, has anything to say about it, they won't be on the bottom forever. Because that's the silver lining of being on the bottom: the only way left to go is up.
