Chapter 2

While walking home from his aunt and uncle's farm Dan and Jessy went to the forest to pick some wild fruits for his parents.

Looking around to see which of the fruits are ripe he heard a sound coming from a few meters away.

Not knowing what was making that sound Dan became alert and called Jessy to come close.

“Jessy come here girl.”

Dan says “Jessy be on alert, I hear some sounds coming from behind that bush there.”

“Will do that master.”said Jessy

Slowly and safely going towards the bush Dan and Jessy go to look for what was making the sound that he heard.

After looking behind the bush he sees a cat was her young laying on the ground.

Jessy says “Master I don't think the big cat is alive.”

“Ooh, why is that Jessy?”asks Dan.

“Well master I don't hear her breathing and she smells wrong.”said Jessy

Dan says “Alright Jessy I'll go look a little bit closer, watch the surroundings please.”

“I'll do that master.”said Jessy

Dan slowly walks closer to the cats to look what is going on.

After reaching them he discovers that Jessy was right. The mother cat wasn't alive.

Thinking about what to do now he makes the decision to call his parents to see what they think about what he should do whit the young kittens.

While inputting the number on his phone he looks around to see if there was something or somebody else around.

When he hears the phone being answered he hears “Hello who's calling?”

“Dad its me.”said Dan.

“Ooh Dan my boy, why are you calling me? Did something happen on your why to your uncle?”asks his dad.

“Nothing really happened on the way to uncle dad, but on the way back I planned to pick up some fruits from the forest and found a dad cat and her young behind a bush. And I don't know what to do about it now.”said Dan.

His dad says “Well son if the mother is dead the young won't survive for long. How many young ones are there?”

“There are 3 young kittens, but one of them is already dead so the are only two left alive.”said Dan.

His dad asks “Do you have something that you can put the two alive ones in safely? If so than do that and take them home with you, we'll look to see what we can do for them than.”

“What should I do with the dead mother and kitten?”asks Dan.

His dad asks “Is it possible for you to bury her near a tree? If so then do that, at least then no scavengers will touch them and the tree gets some nutrients from them.”

Dan says “I'll do that then, I'll be home in about 15 minutes. See you soon.”

“See you soon son.”said his dad.

After his father hang up the phone, Dan started digging a hole next to the tree the put the mother and young cat in. After having done that ho carefully took the baby kittens in his hands and put them in a pocket, where he made a soft place for them to lay on.

After having done that he slowly stands up and looks to see where Jessy is.

When he sees that she is watching the surroundings to see if somebody is coming he calls for her to follow.

“Come girl, lets go home now.”said Dan.

“Yes master, I'm coming.”said Jessy.

When they start walking he discovers that he has gotten a new notice.

Charisma gives you more attraction of the people around you, but also attracts animals to you. You received this stat for showing that you are a good person when taking care of the young kittens that lost their mother.

After closing the notice windows he leaves the area with Jessy to go home.

When they arrived home Dan calls for his father.

“Dad I'm home.”

“Your here, lets see the young kittens.” said his dad.

Dans slowly and carefully takes the kittens out of the pocket.

After putting them on a towel on the kitchen table his father takes a closer look.

His dad says “Well you did the right thing son, these little ones wouldn't have made it another hour. Lets take care of them now.”

“What can I do dad?”asks Dan.

“Well we need to warm them up a little before we feed them and after that we need to watch them closely. I already called doc Adams and he will come by later tonight. We just need to make sure that they have everything they need to stay alive and get stronger.”said his dad.

Dan says “Then I'll go get some warm towels for them”

“Good idea son.”said his dad.

Just when Dan went to get some warm towels his mother came home.

“Hello, I'm home. What is going on here?”

His dad says “Hi honey, Dan found a dead mother cat and her young in the forest and now we are taking care of the two kittens that are still alive.”

“What were are they?” asks his mom.

“Here they are dear.”said his dad.

Dan's mother comes closer to look at the young kittens.

Dans mom says “Ooh, how cute they are.”

“Dan's getting warm towels so that we can warm them up.”said his dad.

Dan's mom says “Well then I will make them some baby formula, did Dan bring the milk with him?”

“Yes dear, he put them there next to the fridge.”said his dad.

Dan arrives with the warm towels and sees his mom.”Ooh, hi mom welcome home. How was shopping?” asks Dan.

“Shopping was good baby, but I'm proud of you for what you have done with the young kittens. A lot of kids would have left them there.” said his mom.

“Well mom, I couldn't just leave them there. They would have died than and that would be horrible.”said Dan.

His mom says “Your right son, that is just how we raised you to be.”

His parents where proud of him and Dan was very happy because of it.

Then his dad says “Son your mom will make them some baby formula and will take care of them till doc Adams come by so could you help finish with the work outside and help by making diner tonight? You know that if I make diner we will get sick from food poisoning.”

“Will do that then dad.”said Dan.

Dan went outside and started with taking care of the chickens before helping his dad with the vegetable garden.

He went inside the chicken coop to see if the chicken have laid some eggs.

When he discovered that there were five eggs in the nests he took them out to see if one or more would be able to give birth to some baby chicks.

After holding them up to the light he could see that only two of them had the makings of a new baby chicken so he put them back and took the others with him inside after giving the chickens some food.

After coming inside he says, ”Mom, dad there are five eggs in the coop. But two of them should be able to be hatched into two baby chicks so I put them back. These three can be used for breakfast tomorrow.”

His mom says “Good job honey, hope to see some new chicks soon.”

“Well, who's son do you think he is.”said his dad.

“Why, do you know something I don't know?”asks his mom.

His dad says “Um, I didn't mean it like that dear.”

“What? You didn't mean it like what?”asks his mom.

Dan says “Mom, I think that dad means that I did a good job because I god two of the best parents in the world.”

“Yes, yes that is what I meant.” said his dad.

His mom says “Well dear, you can be thankful that our son said that you know.”

“I know dear.” said his dad.

His dad winks at him and whispers a thank you.

After putting away the eggs Dan and his dad go to the field to pick out the weeds and fertilize the ground.

While working hard they discover that some of the rows of vegetables are being overrun with weeds.

So they start to begin with taking them out. Since it is not some easy work since you need to take them out by the roots, the sit on there knees.

After having taken out two rows of weeds Dan sits back for a moment to get some relieve. It is demanding work since the rows are not small and that he has to be careful not to harm the vegetables were the weed grows around of.

While resting a bit he sees that he has got a notification of a stat increase and of a skill increase.

After drinking some water to hydrate under the blistering sun he starts again with pulling the weeds.

After a couple hours of hard work Dan and his Father have pulled out all the weeds and start with fertilizing the ground so that it stays healthy.

After finishing the fertilizing of the field they water it and go inside the home to clean themselves up.
