《Aliad - Tale of Zed [Dropped]》Chapter 31 - Another Five Years

Hey guys! Sorry for taking so long to get this to you. This week was very busy as I had a retreat in the beginning of the week, injured myself during the retreat and had to finish the mousetrap with reports. Hopefully you all enjoy this story! Please Rate and Review if you can.
---------------------------
The next year began with a message from the darkness.
I got his message while I was in my office reading some papers.
“Hey,” it said, “I forgot to give you the thing from Hell, so I’m giving it to you now.”
He gave me a glass orb that had white veins surrounding it and a dark mass inside. He told me to crush in my hands and fragments of the orb poured into me.
Instantly, the scenery around me changed. I saw steel towers that looked as swords piercing the sky, people in strange clothing and horseless steel carts.
“Hey are you listening to me?” asked a distorted voice near me.
It was a woman that had brown hair, black eyes and fair skin. She looked very familiar but I knew that I didn’t know her.
She said something but it was all muffled, as if it was going through mud.
We were walking along what seemed to be a road and at the base of one of the towers I saw myself in the same strange clothes.
I couldn’t understand what was happening and suddenly I was back in my office.
“Had a nice trip?” asked the darkness’ voice.
“What was that?”
“Mmeria, that’s what the item was called. I’m sure your Codex can tell you more about it as its time for me to go,” said the darkness as his voice slowly dissipated.
I asked Malakir what a Mmeria was and he said, “It is an item that brings back memories of the soul. Some souls have a past life, a Mmeria makes them remember what they had done in the past. Of course, it very rarely works as the soul has to have something to remember. Surprisingly, this darkness had one to give to you, they are very rare nowadays as most were lost when Aliad disappeared.”
This made me think that somehow my soul was reincarnated and I only knew about it now.
Throughout the year I saw more scenes, each one different than the others, they always happened every night and I would look forward to sleep to see more.
The steel towers were actually called “skyscrapers” I found out about it during one dream as well as the construction of it. I wasn’t participating but I watched people working on building it.
I also learned about “guns”, they were very fearsome. The person I was actually had one, it was named “Walther PPQ”. It was used for self-defense purposes but it killed anyone it was used against.
Another thing I learned about was the concept of “Mathematics”. Now this was the most interesting because it revealed that the world was merely just a series of numbers. Here, we used numbers as a quantity or currency but in that world, it was used to find probabilities of everything.

After learning about these things I told them to Malakir and he would always say, “Arun was once like that. When magic was discovered, the people went to war and the world became as you now see it. Its good that you know more about it than I do, as I only know of the world after magic was discovered. But be careful, what happened in the past may very well happen now. So please be mindful of who you tell about those guns, they might change the world as we know it.”
I agreed with his way of thinking and started my research on guns alone while also telling my subordinates about Mathematics and skyscrapers as well as things like ‘plumbing’, ‘waste management’, ‘fertilization’ and others.
As I learned more about the memories of my soul, I began to wonder, Who was I back then? Why are the only things I remember are facts? Will I ever know about that woman?
That woman that I saw in my first soul memory was no longer in any of the others. It was as if she never existed. I put this question and others out of my mind as I had other things to do. It was no good to dwell in what was past and instead was much better to do things that could improve the life of others.
In the next four years, our research was fruitful.
We had grown so large that we actually had 100,000 researchers and the number just kept on increasing. There were more non-magicians than magicians but they all had the same idea of combining science with magic. With our numbers increasing, we had no choice but to expand our location which then became known as the City of the Institute. We had our own marketplace, residential homes, walls. It was basically our own little city. We even had our own school.
Our school’s feature was Mathematics as well as, Praecus, the combination of science and magic.
All of this was only possible with the contributions of the nobles as well as my father being the king. He was very pleased with everything that we were bringing him that he even made a treaty with the neighboring countries to allow them to go to Asmodeus academy. After graduating there, they would then be automatically accepted to go to our school known as the College of the Institute.
We actually had many different subjects that even our researchers even went into. They were: Astronomy, Medicine, Alchemy, Philosophy, Physics, Biology, and Ecology. Nearly everyone wanted to learn all of these subjects that many actually tried teaching it themselves. None of them could compare to ours though.
That being said, Asmodeus Academy and the College of the Institute are pretty much at odds. There has already been talks of a tournament between the two as well as other schools in the continent known as the Lunaria Tournament. It was a gathering of 10 of the most prestigious schools in each nation and they would all go to the Dome of Asmodeus Academy.
The tournament had five events that everyone participates in. The events were: Lightning Wings Shootout, Stone Tomb Destruction, Chimera Extermination, Duels and Group Battles. Lightning Wings Shootout was an event that made the contestants to destroy as many wings made out of lightning in the sky within a set time limit. The limit would be different every match so sometimes it would take hours while others in seconds. Stone Tomb Destruction was an event that made you destroy a pillar of stone that you were assigned to faster than your opponent could. Chimera Extermination was a contest against another to kill a Chimera. The Chimera would be different ranging from the harmless Ramit, a fusion of a mouse and a rabbit, to a Drakon type Chimera, a fusion of one or more dragons with other animals. Duels and Group battles were self-explanatory, the team that defeats its opponent wins.

The events in the competition has to be done by all members in a group. A total of four members per group and each member had to participate in all the events. Because of this, the tournament allows each school to bring in three of their best groups who would then compete among themselves along with other schools to be the overall winners.
Currently, it is still in the planning stage but it seems that on its debut I would have to participate along with Sasha, Alex and Kaiser for the College of the Institute.
After seeing the success of the Institute, my father commanded us to go to the College instead of Asmodeus Academy. I was perfectly fine with this arrangement as it let me do my job much easier.
Sasha and Alex had problems with this arrangement as they had friends in Asmodeus and now they would no longer see each other so often. In Kaiser’s case, he was visited by many of his girlfriends saying that they too would go with him. I dragged him inside the mansion before he could do anything at all.
In the last ten years Sasha, Alex and Kaiser changed too.
Alex became stoic after his flings with men and women alike. He was much more proficient in swords than I ever could be which was the reason why Arthur left to continue his duty as a knight. He now stood at six feet and his frame was solidly built.
Between classes, Alex and I would always either be in my office or in a meeting with researchers or masters. He was my knight but he also became my secretary, as the word came to mind after one of my dreams.
He has also gained a few summons and his rank is now Sage ranked summoner.
Kaiser made himself a harem, evidenced by his many girlfriends. Kidnappings no longer happened after that first incident. He now stood at almost six feet and his frame was much more built than Alex’s.
His expertise with Holy magic was unparalleled especially after he got my gifts. He was now a Sage rank but his power was equal to a Lord rank’s. He joined Alex and I in training but he relied more on his fists than any weapon. He was a Squire rank in fist fighting.
Sasha was the most beautiful woman ever. Every guy and girl would look at her whenever she passed by. She stood at five feet and her hair reached down to her shoulders. She had large breasts and a very alluring figure. She would take care of me as only a woman could every night after work and studies.
She was a Master Holy mage but she was becoming proficient with bows. Seeing us training made her think of wanting to do something similar. She took up a bow and arrow and practiced with it. Her rank as a warrior was a Squire, the same level as a Master for mages.
For myself, I was never able to release the seal on my other summons but even without them I was very capable. Galahad instructed me in how to use swords so my proficiency with it became a Warrior ranked, the same with my sealed mage rank of Sage.
I stood at about 5’6”, my build was lean but not muscular as my body itself was still very physically weak at its base. I was only able to appear almost normal because of my training while I was younger.
Many things happened within ten years but now I was in the training grounds in the City of the Institute. It was a wide courtyard with ornately decorated walls covering an area of about 500 meters.
I was alone as I tested a new spell.
I wanted to make a spell that I could use easily against people without killing them. I decided on immobilizing them or knocking them out so that I would win. I gathered Wind, Nature, Arcane, Spirit, and Darkness mana to coalesce into ten orbs in front of me. I then launched them in front of me and the orbs turned into a dragon’s head as it followed my intent of moving everywhere.
This was my newest spell built for immobilizing targets, Dark Dragons Descend. Because of the Darkness mana, it would render the target immobilized as well as a random affliction of sleep, poison, or weakness. Each dragon would attack the most vulnerable locations of a target and then they would be met with these afflictions, of course, if their resistance was high, it would not harm them at all. The number of dragons could actually be increased as well as the size.
Seeing that it was working nicely, I left the training grounds and went to my mansion.
My mansion was the same as it was in Asmodeus only it was now bigger and much larger. It was right next to the Institute to allow me to go to work very easily.
It was dinner time and I ate dinner with Alex, Kaiser and Sasha. Tomorrow was the start of the Lunaria Tournament. The four of us were already chosen to be a part of the teams representing the College. Even though I was a student of the College in reality I was also the President, as well as Mayor and Archmage.
I had no time for studies really as my time was spent working but fortunately, this tournament will be a break for myself.
Sasha and I went to our room after dinner and she comforted me to be ready for the next day.

Most of it is already written, but I'm going through the chapters and editing the shit out of them. This story is NOT a Lit-RPG, so no blue screens or anything of the sort. It is just fast-paced fiction with slight cultivation elements. Updates are bi-daily (so every 2 days), and chapters are 1500-3000 words. As always, feedback is more than welcome. Why are you still reading the synopsis? You have already decided. Go ahead, give this story a shot. It's worth it.
