Chapter 16

History, Pact and Rook

"You all know the story of the Vanishing Dragon, Albion and Welsh Dragon, Ddraig, right?" Naruto patiently asked and they all nodded in affirmation.

"They are famous for their rivalry and their destructive battle during the Great War.

While their acts got them sealed into a Sacred Gear, there is a third Dragon who remained a spectator and watched everything from the Shadows. He is the Shadow Dragon, The Black Dragon of Abyss, Skiadrum" said Naruto. All the Devils in the room got shocked looks at this revelation. Reni was listening to Naruto's story carefully as she also didn't know about his Sacred Gear history yet.

'I think I should search for this Shadow Dragon in our Clan archives' thought Sona. As a tactician, she knows the value of information and any information about Dragons, in this case, could give her the advantage.

'I knew he was strong. I didn't expect him to host a Dragon-Type Sacred Gear. Maybe he will help me,' thought Rias in hope.

'Ara, ara. A Dragon, what a powerful species' thought Akeno licking her lips.

'So that's the secret of his power' thought Tsubaki, calculatingly.

Similar thoughts were going through all the peerage members of Rias and Sona. Reni has completely different thoughts.

'It seems the Shadow Dragon Legend is true' she thought. During her training to become a Magician, she was explained about all the Races in the world and during an explanation about the Dragon race, a myth was told to her.

That myth explains about a Dragon who hides in the Shadows of the world and strikes when the opportunity presents itself. His name and whereabouts are not known and it is seen as a myth even by the elders of her School as the Dragon didn't make any appearance for a few hundred years. She knew now that the myth was to be true.

Not perturbed by their reactions, the Clone Naruto continued his explanation.

"He is comparable in strength to both Ddraig and Albion and said to even surpass them as they fell into a loop of their rivalry. They lost their Dragon Magics which they were born with and developed new magics to counter one another.

In the case of Ddraig, whose Dragon Magic is Fire, he developed the power to Boost himself.

In the case of Albion, who is well known for his Poison Mist, he developed the power to Divide to counter Ddraig.

Skiadrum did the same. He also created magic that is unique to himself and counters any Dragon. He warned both Ddraig and Albion on their destructive rivalry and the casualties.

Before he can act, the Holy Father has sealed them away in their Sacred Gears. To teach both Albion and Ddraig a lesson, Skiadrum also sealed himself in a Sacred Gear which is known as Abyss Shadow. I'm the first to awaken it, so it is not known to anyone" said Naruto. He avoided saying God as it causes pain to his companions.

There were few lies added into the mix, but the story is pretty convincing. From the looks of it, all of them believed him and his story. He can't tell them about Azazel's part in all this after all.

"So that's why we haven't heard about the Sacred Gear till now," said Sona, adjusting her glasses.

"Yes, Sona dear. I'm the first to awaken it. The Dragon's name is Skiadrum" said Naruto to emphasise the truth in his story. Sona filed it in her mind to search for it in her Clan library. She made a note to do it as soon as possible.

"Can you show us anything relating to that Magic?" Said Rias enthusiastically.

"Yes, however, I don't think this place is good for that," said Naruto.

"Aww, come on, at least a bit," she asked with puppy dog eyes.

"Yes, Naruto. It would be helpful to get a good grasp on what you can do" said Sona.

"Ok, hmmm, what to show you?" He thought, rubbing his chin.

"Shadow Walk" whispered Naruto and merged himself with Shadows and appeared behind Sona in an instant.

"See," he said and disappeared from there as well.

Naruto appeared in his seat. The teacup on his table was grasped by a wispy black tendril and attracted towards him.

"Wow," said Rias. Others in the room also have similar expressions of surprise. Sona was most intrigued. From the small amount he showed just now, his magic seems to have so many applications and countering such magic is not easy.

"That's great, Naruto. So this is the magic you got Skiadrum?" Asked Sona, calculatingly.

"Yes, there are some more, but that's how it works, in general" he explained.

"Then ca-" started Sona but was interrupted by sudden magic appearing at her ear.

"So-tan, are you there?" Came the happy voice of her Sister, Serafall Leviathan.

"Yes, Onee-sama," she said in a respectful tone.

"Is Naru-tan and Ria-tan free now?"

"Yes, Onee-sama"

"Good. Ajuka-tan will come shortly and discuss an important matter with you" said Serafall energetically.

"About what? Onee-sama" asked Sona.

"It is about Naru-tan's request. He'll be there to explain it, don't worry" Serafall said calmly.

"I miss you, So-tan," said Serafall and the magic circle vanished from Sona's ear.

"What is it, Sona? What did Serafall-sama say?" Asked Rias curiously.

"I don't know what exactly, but Beelzebub-sama is coming here," said Sona in a plain tone and turned to Naruto.

"What is it you asked?"

"Oh, Ajuka is coming, good. Let him come, we'll discuss it afterwards" said Naruto. They waited for a few minutes after which a green magic circle. The symbol consists of a capital "B" almost like an insect's wing that has an insect-like tail on top and a claw at the bottom and 2 figures came out.

First was a bewitchingly beautiful and attractive young man appearing in his early twenties, with light blue eyes and green hair that is slicked back. He wore regal-looking green attire with yellow patterns with black strips in the middle.

Behind him was a woman. She is a beautiful young woman appearing to be in her early twenties with back-length silver hair that features a long braid on each side with small blue bows at the ends, while the rest is let down which ends in twin braids and silver eyes.

She wore a blue and white French maid outfit with long sleeves and a white maid headband over her head with red lipstick.

Naruto knew this woman. But he doesn't know her in an official capacity and so he kept his calm facade and waited for introductions.

"Beelzebub-sama. It's a pleasure to meet you" said Rias and Sona at the same time and bowed in respect. Their peerages followed suit and gave a bow to Satan Beelzebub.

"Yo," is the only greeting given by Naruto.

"Yes, thank you for assembling them on short notice, Sona. Naruto, how are you doing?" Asked Ajuka. This shocked most of them. Someone talking casually to the Devil King is unheard of and the Satan in question replying in a similar tone shocked them.

They all masked it with a calm demeanour. Grayfia was perplexed by this. She didn't encounter anyone with such audacity to talk casually to the Satans, the underworld Rulers.

She couldn't act to 'discipline' him as he is not in her authority. She was brought here just so she could learn about this new individual who joined their ranks recently. She saw him. He was introduced to be one of the Human Devils along with Jiraiya-sama.

"I'm doing good, Ajuka. Sensei is another matter. He went somewhere and told me not to disturb him for a week" said Naruto. Reni gave a cough, unable to suppress her laughter at the blatant lie Naruto told Ajuka casually.

"That's ok, I guess. Who is this beauty?" Asked Ajuka, raising his eyebrows.

"Ah, yes. I forgot to introduce her to you I guess. She is Lavinia Reni, Vice President, Ninja Club and my Bishop. Reni-chan, this is Ajuka Beelzebub, one of the 4 Devil Kings" introduced Naruto.

"It is an honour to meet you, Beelzebub-sama," Reni said in a respectful tone with a bow.

"Yes, likewise, Reni-san. Now let's move on to the topic" said Ajuka.

"My, my, Ajuka, aren't forgetting your manners. You didn't introduce the beautiful young lady behind you" said Naruto.

"My bad. This is Grayfia-"

"The Strongest Queen of the Underworld, I have heard of," said Naruto in a mocking tone. Ajuka opened his eyes wide at that. Sona and Rias didn't miss it but filed it away.

'What! Does he know? But how? It is a well-guarded secret only known to the higher-ups and Gremory Clan members and their relatives' thought Ajuka in alarm.

'No need to get alarmed, Ajuka. Sensei told me about it and it appears you are a big loose mouth when you are drunk' said Naruto through thought communication or telepathy.

'I see, I must have slipped during one of our drinking sessions' said Ajuka to Naruto. Naruto just nodded.

"Yes, she is known by that name as well. Now she is just escorting me" said Ajuka and moved to the table to discuss things. The room was rearranged with a large table in the middle, Ajuka and Naruto at the head and end of the table and Sona and Rias on either side of the table.

"Now, Naruto, as per the promise I made to you, let's first tell these 2 about that," said Ajuka. He and Naruto explained about the day and what happened on that day when Naruto got the 'King Piece' as part of a test. Rias and Sona listened to it carefully.

As Naruto already explained the 'history' of his Sacred Gear they moved forward to other topics at hand.

"I have named it Abyss Shadow, Ajuka," said Naruto and Ajuka nodded, taking in the information. Not that it is important as his Sacred Gear already has a name.

Grayfia stood behind Ajuka's right calmly while Reni stood to Naruto's right. Tsubaki and Akeno mimicking the actions. Kiba, Koneko, Yura and Momo sat on a couch behind their respective Kings.

'Everything was according to plan. It appears Naruto just told them some made-up story on his Sacred Gear. By the reactions of Rias and Sona, he gave them a good one' thought Ajuka.

'If only I found him alone, I could introduce him to Grayfia personally,' thought Ajuka. He remembered what Zekram told him before coming to the meeting.

Flashback Begin

Ajuka was preparing to leave to Kuoh after informing Serafall of his meeting when a magic circle of Bael crest appeared in front of him and the circle was from Zekram.

"Zekram-sama, what can I do for you?" Asked Ajuka politely.

"Am I correct in assuming that you are going to keep with the promise you made to Naruto?"

"Yes, Sir. I've talked to Sirzechs and Serafall about that and they agreed with my proposal and I was on my way now"

"Well, I have a request to ask," said Zekram with a calm face.

"What can I do?" Asked Ajuka.

"I want you to take Grayfia with you"

"Grayfia? If I may ask, why sir?"

"We know about the secret behind the Strongest Queen of the Underworld. Sirzechs marrying Sara is one of the most fortunate things that happened in his life. Though the circumstances remained unfavourable then, they are not like what they used to be" reasoned Zekram.

"I can understand that, but what do you think of the chaos that may happen if this comes out?" Asked Ajuka. Sirzechs and Grayfia were presumed husband and wife by the Devil populace and Grayfia's disciplinary nature always kept Sirzechs in line.

Sara, the real wife of Sirzechs understood this well. That is why she doesn't have any problem with it. She is also an heiress to a clan after all. She is the heiress of the Nebiros Clan.

The Nebiros Clan is one of the Extra Devil Clans of the Extra Devils, that is not a part of the 72 Pillars. The clan is a part of the Six Houses that serve the Lucifer Clan along with the Lucifuge Clan.

One of the Extra Demon clans that had served the Lucifer Clan for generations, the Nebiros is noted to excel at scientific research, being the leading clan in the Underworld that specialized in a variety of research subjects.

This made Sara a weak point to the Lucifer Clan and they abandoned her during the Civil War. When Grayfia escaped to the Anti-Satan Faction during the Devil Civil War, Sara came along with her.

Sara has developed her magic after she came to the Anti Satan Factions and fell in love with Sirzechs as he was one of the few people who interacted with her. Their love blossomed and they married and had a Son named Milicus.

Due to the lack of misunderstanding and unfavourable circumstances, this matter remained a secret and Grayfia was assumed as the Queen of Sirzechs Peerage while Sara was the actual Queen.

Now as she has reached the Ultimate Class, they are ready to reveal the secret to the Devil populace. It may not be that serious, but they knew some repercussions had to be faced.

Zekram got a brilliant idea after witnessing Naruto's power. That blonde had a lot of potential and power to back it up. If they managed to make him listen to them, it would be good as he is going to be an extra layer of defence for the Devil Faction as a Longinus Class Sacred Gear possessor. That's why he is going to give him the 'Perfect' Queen for Naruto.

"I know, Ajuka. But circumstances have changed and I know our people will understand and accept Sara. I want to give Naruto some help" said Zekram. Ajuka understood. Showing favouritism is not uncommon among Devils. Though as Satans, they are not allowed to show any favouritism. Devil's act on their Desires and in such a large faction and numbers, keeping track of everything is not possible even with all the technology and magic.

"What if-" Ajuka's question was cut off by Zekram.

"I'm not telling you to do their marriage, Ajuka. Just introduce them, that's all. Don't you think that is easy?" Asked Zekram, breaking Ajuka's line of questions.

"Yes, Sir" relented Ajuka. There is no wrong in introducing people to one another, he supposed. What they decide to do is their wish, he is not going to concern himself with that. Zekram was looking at him expectantly and Ajuka responded.

"I'll do it, Sir" he gave in.

"Good," said Zekram.

Ajuka took his leave with a "Have a great day, Sir"

The picture of Zekram vanished into Magic particles.

'Phew. I don't know what is going to happen if I introduce those two' thought Ajuka. They are polar opposites and he is not going to get himself stuck in the middle.

Flashback End

After that, Ajuka called Grayfia and with her, they started their journey to Kuoh and that brings us to the current situation at hand.

"Ok, the promise I made to Naruto gives him Kuoh," said Ajuka, dropping the bomb.

"What!?" Yelled Rias and Sona at the same time in shock.

'How can they do this, I was given this territory by my brother' thought Rias.

'I thought both Gremory and Sitri Clans agreed to share this territory' thought Sona.

"Sit down and listen completely," said Naruto, annoyed. 'These girls can be shocked and fooled easily. I have no doubt Azazel expected this and sent me here for that reason' thought Naruto.

"I talked to both Lords of Gremory and Sitri. After that I also consulted Sirzechs and Serafall, they agreed that the promise must be kept" said Ajuka calmly, he saw them calm down and continued.

"As per Naruto's share in Kuoh, I don't know what he wants. Tell me, are you doing contracts with humans? Can you explain to us how you operate here"

"Yes, Beelzebub-sama," said both Rias and Sona in unison.

"While I take care of the territory during the day, Rias will take care of it during the night. That's the agreement between us" said Sona.

"Hmm, that's a good balance. I don't want to disturb that. In that case, how much distance do you two cover in Kuoh?" Asked Naruto.

"Huh, what?" Asked Rias in surprise. She didn't understand what Naruto is talking about.

"I think we cover the inner perimeter and then some, of the town. Why do you ask?" Asked Sona, coming to her conclusion?

"Well, if you take care of the rest. I'll take care of the outer end and outskirts of the town. As you are doing well, I'll only interfere if there is anything abnormal going on. Is that agreeable?" Asked Naruto with a poker face.

This way, he gets his share of the town territory to govern and can sit happily in his Club room and enjoy as there is no need to accumulate any wealth as he got enough from his books and movies and other businesses.

"What about contracts?" Asked an impatient Rias.

"I won't do them. You can do them to your heart's content. After all, I'm busy with a club and a student to teach chess" said Naruto calmly. Sona gave him a cold glare to which Naruto smirked at her.

"Speaking of chess, you should play it with Sona-chan some time, she is good at chess," said Ajuka, intrigued.

"Yes, I'll, Ajuka. I'm looking forward to it, Sona" said Naruto.

"Are the terms agreeable to both parties?" Said Ajuka. 3 of them nodded.

"Grayfia, if you please," asked Ajuka and with Magic, a magic contract was formed.

"I'll read them to make it clear to all parties," said Grayfia and started reading it.

'This is an official pact made between Naruto Uzumaki, with Sona Sitri and Rias Gremory. This pact acknowledges Naruto Uzumaki's right to be one of the Overseer's of Kuoh town along with Sona Sitri, Heiress to Sitri House, Rias Gremory, Heiress to Gremory House.

This pact was acknowledged and signed in the presence of the respective parties, their Peerages along with Satan Ajuka Beelzebub being the overseer and Grayfia Lucifuge as witness' read the main subject while all the permissions and rules were read after that.

After a thorough check-up and delegation of rights and duties of the town, the pact was signed by all 3 parties. 3 Clan crests appeared at the end of the page while Ajuka's Beelzebub crest appeared in the middle of the bottom of the page, acknowledging the pact.

"Good. Now that's settled, let's be on our way" said Ajuka.

"Ajuka, can you come with me? I just want to show you my Club House" said Naruto. Ajuka got a curious look and nodded.

"Ok, girls. See ya later" said Naruto and nodded to Kiba, who is the only boy in the room. They walked out of the student council room and went to the Ninja Club Building. Grayfia and Reni followed Naruto and Ajuka out.

"So, what is all this about?" Asked Naruto.

"What are you talking about, I just came to keep my promise," said Ajuka in a plain tone.

"Come on, tell me. I know Old Man Zekram won't send you just to deal with a territory problem" said Naruto.

'Looks like he saw through it,' thought Ajuka.

"I just want to introduce her," said Ajuka, gesturing to Grayfia.

"Oh, is it?" Asked Naruto. As they reached the Ninja Club Building, the door opened automatically.

"Nice use of magic there," said Ajuka, observing the doors.

"Thanks," said Naruto and they made it to the first floor Club President office. The office was furnished with luxurious furniture. They went and sat on the couches in the room.

"You got a good building, Naruto," said Ajuka. Suddenly, all of them turned to their right, but because of Naruto's gesture, all of them refrained from acting.

"Let me introduce myself to her," said Naruto gesturing towards Reni.

"Her name is Lavinia Reni and she is a Magician," said Naruto.

"Magician, you say, interesting," said Ajuka.

"Go on, tell them about you," said Naruto. Reni stepped forward and bowed to both Ajuka and Grayfia and introduced herself.

"Greetings, Beelzebub-sama, Grayfia-sama, my name is Lavinia Reni, a Magician from Grauzauberer," said Reni in a polite tone.

"Grauzauberer you say? That's one of the finest Magician organisations" said Ajuka, impressed.

"I'm honoured to be complemented by Beelzebub-sama," said Reni. She stepped back and Naruto explained to Ajuka about their meeting and how he took her in.

"Back on topic. Why does the old man want to introduce me to her?" Asked Naruto.

"Well, he told me to introduce you two, that's it. Satan knows why" said Ajuka in exasperation.

"Interesting," said Kurama.

'Oh, you are here? How was the original' asked the clone?

"He is going great I guess. He blocked me" grumbled the fox.

'What is interesting to you?' Asked the clone Naruto.

"That girl, she is sneaking around and now Ajuka is talking about the woman. She is cold. I can feel it" said Kurama.

'Don't get ahead of ourselves. It is definitely a trap' said Naruto.

"Yes, I know. That old bat wants to be on your good side, I guess. That's why he is trying to send that girl to you" said Kurama with a smirk.

'Yup. Nice strategy. But I want things to proceed naturally and I guess our warning worked' said Naruto.

"Yea, I know. But don't take as much time as you did with Hinata" said the 10 tailed fox.

'Kay'

Due to the evolution of Kurama to 10 tails and his relationship with Naruto improving, Naruto and Kurama can talk to each other no matter the distance. Kurama can see through all of Naruto's eyes at the same time. This was for his 'entertainment' of course.

As the original is busy with Katerea and blocked Kurama, he turned his attention to the Clone who was telling great stories to the bat girls.

"Well, that's fine I guess," said Naruto. He walked towards Grayfia and extended his hand.

"Naruto, Uzumaki Naruto," he said. Grayfia was looking at him sternly. Slowly, she also extended her hand and grasped his.

"Grayfia, Grayfia Lucifuge" she introduced in a plain tone. Her hand was cold and Naruto's had a warmth to it.

"Nice meeting you," he said with a smile.

"Pleasure is all mine," said Grayfia. Naruto walked back to the couch he was sitting on and sat.

"Happy?" He asked rhetorically. Ajuka only nodded.

"Well, as it's done, I'll be on my way. If you want you can stay, Grayfia"

"I have work to attend, Beelzebub-sama," said Grayfia.

"It's an honour to meet you, Naruto-sama, Reni-san," she said in a respectful tone and bowed. Ajuka vanished in a green magic circle while Grayfia vanished in a Red magic circle.

"Well, that went well," said Naruto. He turned to a blank space and walked towards it. As it catching something, he removed it. There was a girl under the cloth.

She is wearing Kuoh Academy girls' uniform which consists of a white long-sleeved, button-down shirt with vertical linings, a black ribbon on the collar, a black shoulder cape and matching button-down corset, and a magenta skirt with white accents. She has long purple hair with dark brown eyes.

Naruto knew her. She is Kazehana Futen, a third-year student and moreover, one of the girls who was selected for his Club.

"Kazehana? What are you doing here" asked Naruto.

"Um, Naruto-san, I was roaming around, hehe," said Kazehana.

"Roaming, you say. Why are you roaming here?" Asked Naruto sternly.

"Ahh, I thought of greeting you here as I heard you are ill," said Kazehana.

"So you have heard all the conversation," said Naruto.

"What? No, no, I didn't. I was about to escape when something fell on me and I fell here" she said frantically.

"Nice magic you have," said Naruto. Kazehana replicated a perfect fish out of water.

"Do you know of the supernatural?" Asked Naruto.

"Y-yes" she replied, calming down a bit as Naruto's expression softened.

"Do you know about Devils?" He asked calmly.

"Yes,"

"Well, are you interested in becoming one" asked Naruto, pulling out a chess set? Kazehans's eyes widened in shock and surprise. She is into younger boys and that is the reason why she joined this club in the first place.

This guy, Naruto, attracted her towards him and she couldn't resist it. She made it through the entrance test and endured Reni's test as well. What came after was only called bliss.

Naruto was always with them in the club teaching them all the moves and tactics. She not only became strong, but smart as well.

As this is her last year here, she came here to confess to him and done with it once in for all. As if reading her mind, Naruto asked a question that sent her mind into overdrive.

She knew about the Supernatural. She can use magic from her birth as she belongs to one of the noble clans called the Futen clan, the devotees of Fūjin, the Wind God. She was blessed with that magic as well and she is using the same to hide in the room.

She is going to confess her love to him when an opportunity presented itself in front of her. How can she say no now?

"Y-yes" she stuttered out. Naruto smiled at her.

"Then come," he said and gave her his hand. She caught it and the venue changed. It was a lavish room with posh furniture and a complex pattern in middle written in black ink. She felt a surge of magic and saw Naruto in front of her with a Rook piece in his hands.

"Kazehana, will you become my Rook and help me when I need your assistance," asked Naruto, his school uniform turning into a regal black battle armour, with golden edges and wearing a full white bodysuit with a high collar. His eyes changing from cerulean blue to that of Purple with concentric circles in them and his body surrounded by golden-orange light. Giving him the appearance of a deity.

"Yes, Naruto-kun," Kazehana said in joy. He looks just like a Gid. She felt as if she is in front of Fūjin.

"Will you swear your loyalty to me and keep my secrets with you to the grave?" he asked in a Regal tone.

"Yes, Naruto-kun"

"Then I swear that I'll protect you from anything and everything. This, I promise. Will you accept my request to be my Rook, Kazehana Futen" asked Naruto.

"Yes, I give my heartfelt acceptance," she said and stepped forward.

"Then, from this moment forth, you shall be my Rook and a precious person I'll protect with my very being," said Naruto and the Rook piece floated from his hand and merged into her skin. She accepted the piece happily and the effect was immediate. Her appearance has changed and she grew few inches in height and her body expanded a little making her clothes tight. Her violet hair darkened a little and finally, from her back came 2 wings.

Her wings are violet in colour with a white outline as if filled with thin wind blades. Her wings are strong as of made of steel. Naruto observed her closely.

Her strength and stamina increased by leaps and bounds. Her magic potency also increased. Overall, she is a powerhouse now.

She fell unconscious because of all the strain. Reni caught her before she could hit the floor.

"Good catch, Reni-chan," said Naruto.

"Why do it in haste? Can't you wait" she asked teasingly.

"Nah, it's not like that. Her emotions towards me are running haywire. She felt sad that she is going to leave me this year and so I fulfilled her request. It's not as if she is weak or anything" said Naruto with a smile.

"Great. Now I have another one to look after" said Reni. Naruto smirked at her.

"What would Naruto-kun think?" asked Reni, thinking of the Original.

"Nah, he doesn't give a damn. To tell you the truth, this is on his to-do list to confirm her status" said Naruto. After that, they went on with their work without a care in the world.
