Okay... What is she doing? For the past few minutes all Lucy has been doing is talk to someone on her holo-phone.
"Ummm, Lucy.",
She looked at me and put a finger in front of her lips as if saying, "BE QUIET!!", or something like that. I got the message anyway and promptly shut up.
[Sound]
...
...
I'm not eavesdropping okay?! I'm just testing out the array alright. Testing...
"Yeah, so can you come in the car instead?",
"If I must. But why are you getting someone else a lift when you met them only two days ago?",
"We're co-workers so we have to help each other out, OKAY?",
"Y-yeah, I'm on my way. See you in a few minutes.",
*beep*
Lucy slowly lowered her hand and placed the holo-phone back into her hand bag before turning back to me just as I finished eves- Er, testing my array.
"So, it's settled.",
"What's settled?",
"My Dad is going to give us a lift home in his car.",
"Why?",
"Because I can't have an employee of mine walking home. It would be a disgrace to the company!", Lucy said proudly as she puffed her chest out.
Wait did she just call me an employee, am I demoted? Is she promoted? Ugh, I don't know. The thing isn't even worked out yet and it's already this complex! I'd hate to see it in a week...
"But first you'll eat dinner at my house.",
"What!?", I didn't hear this part of the conversation.
"It's fine. We can discuss our lesson idea over dinner, that is if you'll excuse my parents, and afterwards I'll get my Dad to drive you home.",

"Can't we discuss it tomorrow?",
"No. You're coming in the car with us. As I said, I won't have an employee of mine walking home.",
"*sigh* fine.",
"Yay!",

10 minutes later

Lucy was showing me this game she has on her holo-phone. It's called Whack-A-Mole XTREME!!! I won't explain the game but if those moles were real I'd have multiple court cases on my hands.
*Honk* *Honk*
"Oi, Lucy! Over here!", Oh no, I recognize that slightly annoying middle-aged voice...
"Dad!",
A car pulled up next to the pavement where we were standing and sure enough in the drivers seat was the man himself, Richard.
This car was actually my birthday present to him last year, unfortunately my birthday was after his so I bought him this car before he bought people to beat me up in my own home as a joke.
It's quite a nice car if I were to say so myself. It was an older model green jaguar with white accents on the wheels and white leather seats. I picked it because I liked it and I knew that I could easily get it back off of Richard whenever I wanted.
"Come on get in you two.", Richard said plainly whilst he looked at me with amusement. I glared back at him as I seated myself next to Lucy in the back seats of the car.
After we had put our seatbelts on Richard suddenly revved the engine and the car shot off towards their house.

Finally we arrived at the Improm's house. In actuality it wasn't a 'house' at all but more like a mansion! Why an accommodation need this many rooms I'll never know. They even have butlers and maids and all that stuff! Oh well, I suppose giving people jobs isn't a bad thing.

I've visited here a few times before when I needed to secretly give him a new array or he called me over, things like that.
I also came one time on Halloween and painted a freaky blood handspring on his studies glass window with some red machine paint I had lying around. That was quite the enjoyable experience.
His face when I told him it was a prank! Ha ha, just thinking about it now makes me laugh.
Anyhow, I've never been here public all you and I've never been here and seen Lucy or Richards wife before but now one of those is checked off of the list.
The car drove up to the big metal gates of the driveway and after tirelessly sending the password to the receiver via his holo-phone, Richard drove through the gates and parked off to one side.
"Lucy, you go take your friend to the dining hall with you so you can talk about whatever it was you wanted to talk about while I go ask the chefs to prepare dinner early.",
"Yes Dad, come on Zach. I'll give you a tour.", suddenly Lucy grabbed my wrist and started dragging me to the front door and inside the house.

Can't say he's lucky, as his life went downhill from that point... Our story happens years later, when his fate decides to make a loop and throw him in the same kind of accident. He gets hit by a truck. Surviving the crash, suffering just a few scratches, he is ultimately "lucky" to find himself out of the hospital in no time.. however every bit of good luck always brings him terrible luck afterwards. This time pushing him maybe a bit too far.. How far? Making him vanish without a trace and find himself in the middle of an unknown forrest. Doesn't sound bad? He can consider himself lucky? Just wait and see...It can always get worse.. always.. .... Congratulations, you've made it through the intro and into the author note! If you by any chance missed the tags and didn't read the warning, please do that now. I really recommend you to. Before you jump to reading, and unintentionally scar yourself, do mind that the story is about a dark, unforgiving world, a world in which you have more opportunities to die a horrible death, than take a piss. Hero doesn't have great luck, he has dumb persistance, he doesn't go through any trial with a breeze, he pays the price of blood, flesh and tears to live..and will be paying for every mistake.. No one outright explains anything to him, just as us for the most part - he is not sure what the hell is going on.. Some real survival tactics are used as a base of the descriptions, they are as important to the world and character as any other element.. Mind that the story starts really slow, but as the stone starts rolling downhill - the pace gets faster.. Every tag for this novel has a reason to be there, so if you don't see the particular element there, don't panic.. it's either well camoufalged, subtle or simply not encountered as of yet.
