《The Inventor of Magic》1: An Idea

"Come on Zach, it's not like you have anything better to do. You never do anything for yourself these days, you're always holed up in that mansion of yours! You need to enjoy yourself a bit, you're only fifteen for Christ sakes.",
That is Richard Improm, CEO of Improm Industries and an annoying friend of mine (even if he is turning 40 this year).
"You know as well as I do Richard that I'm too busy to enjoy myself. Even your company works with my inventions. I just have too much work I need to do.",
"Zach... For crying out loud, you're still under 20, have secretly won two Nobel prizes and invented the very thing that society today revolves around and you're telling me you can't take a rest! If you can't rest, no one can!",
"I know but-",
"No buts. I have a plan that even you won't refuse.",
"Oh god, what now?",
"You know I have a daughter right?",
"Yes... Where's this going?",
"Well, she is going to be starting at Silyan, one of the world's leading magic institutions, next Monday.",
"So?",
"Well if you go and enjoy a normal school life whilst looking out for my daughter, I'll pay you one hundred million dollars. How about that? This way it's not rest, it's work right?"
"Isn't that too much?",
"Don't worry. With your inventions, this is mere pocket change, Mwahahahaha! *Cough* Just go and enjoy yourself."
"*sigh*...Thanks, Richard. I owe you one."
"No, if anything everyone on this planet owes you, Zach... I'll send you the details on Friday and-",
*Bzzzt*
Of course, Richard's fancy holo-phone began to ring on his desk. I knew that bloody thing would interrupt our talk!
"Yeah, hello. Who's speaking? ... UmHmm... Yeah... Now? Ok, see you shortly.",

Richard places his phone back onto the desk in front of me and looks at me apologetically.
"I'm sorry Zach, but the busy life of a CEO has interrupted us yet again. Perhaps we could play golf sometime. Anyway, it turns out some bigwigs are coming to get custom devices, you know how it is, you will have to go for now."
"Okay. Goodbye.",
I stood up from the fancy leather chair I was previously sat in and got ready to 'leave'.
"Hey, Zach.",
"What now?",
"You sure you don't want to sell me the teleportation array as well?",
"No, it's not calibrated yet. Besides, I doubt you'd understand how to use it. Anyway, didn't I just sell you the flight array two months ago? Don't be getting greedy Richard.",
"Yeah, yeah sorry. Remember I send the details on Friday.",
"Yeah, I've got it. See you, Richard.",
"Bye.",
And within the instant, I thought of it the signal from my brain was intercepted by my one of a kind implant-type magic device which activated the teleportation array.
One moment I was stood in Richard's office. The next, I was gone and stood calmly in front of a large sized house in the middle of the countryside.
"Well, back to work then.", I said to myself with a sigh.
